  1. My story is about a boy named Jayden. He was found outside midgar and was put under Sephiroths tutalige. While Sephiroth is busy Angeal, or Genesis would train him for the day. The trees branches whistled among the whispering winds. Jayden had to lay low, sword at hand, grasping it with caution. He slowed his breathing just a little, deep yet quiet. He jumped from branch to branch with the swiftness of a cat. 'I have to kill him before he knows im here.' Jayden spoke of the Wutai warriors that lingered in this forest outside of Midgar. Finally Jayden had the Wutai in sight. He grasped his sword, and jumped in the air, slashing at two of tge warriors. One tried to shot at him, but Jayden ran to him and jabbed the tip through his chest. Jayden sighed with relief and wiped what sweat was on his forehead. All of the sudden he heard a deep alarming growl. Jayden turned around to see a giant behemoth. "Drat, was this part of it!" The behemoths low unearthly growl echoed through the clearing. Jayden held his sword tightly, trying not to stumble. 'Losing your sword is like losing your life' Sephiroth told him that. Words of wisdom he called it, Jayden called it a lecture. Jayden smirked and slashed at the beast. He could feel the roughness of it's raw hide skin against the metal of his weapon. It found an aportunity to slash at Jayden with it's sharp fearsome claws. Jayden was knocked back, but alive and charged. Reckless and arrogant, that's Jayden for ya. The behemoth swung it's spiked tail at Jayden, but missed by a thread. Jayden climbed up it's tail ti it's back. Tge behemoth bellowed ib attempt to shake this pest of it. Jayden found where it's neck was and sunk his sword into the creatures neck. It shaked and torn at the ground in unmeasurable pain. Jayden lost his balance and fell to the ground. The beast saw an opening to take it's killer to death with him. The behemoth forced his claw in the air to slice Jayden in half. The behemoth felt a death defying pain and collapsed. Jayden opened his eyes to see Sephiroth. "Thanks Sephiroth." Jayden said sighing with relief. "Let that be a lesson, don't charge without caution." Sephiroth held his flip phone in the air and pressed the button saying 'mission abort'. The forest that surrounded them disappeared in digital blocks. "Trainings over." "W-why? Come on Sephiroth I was getting warmed up!" Sephiroth was making his way towards the exit. But he stopped, "Do you remember what Angeal told you?" "Y-yeah." "Imbrace your dreams, if you want to be a hero you need dreams and honor." Jayden looked at Sephiroths 'serious' yet caring face, dumbfoundedly. Sephiroth smirked "hmph, head to your room, you need rest." Jayden scratched his head. Yet another day in Shinra as SOLDIER.
  2. I really don't know how good the gameplay or the story are. I've seen the gameplay but I still can't decide. A friend of mine says it is a waste of money. What do you guys think? Please help me! FF XIII, XIII-2 and Versus XIII, how good are they? Thanks guys! S2
  3. Name: "Final Fantasy XIII-2" Platform: Paystation 3, Xbox 360 Developer: Square-Enix Rating: Teen (Violence, Language, Partial Nudity, Simulated Gambling, Alchohol Reference) Players: 1 DLC: Yes Release Date: US- January 31, 2012 UK- February 3, 2012 I just spent the last two-and-a-half hours playing the XIII-2 demo, and I wish I still were. Anything that was holding Final Fantasy XIII back has been reworked, and XIII-2 is brilliant. The demo begins with Serah and Noel being thrown out of one of the time devices into the Bresha Ruins. They are immediately attacked by the monstrous monster Atlas, players getting their first taste of XIII-2 with a massive boss battle. It's also where the player is introduced to "Cinematic Action", a sequence of button presses a la God of War. Unlike the aforementioned series, though, the "Cinematic Action" sequences serve as more than just damage or to finish off a boss. Whether you press a button or not can determine whether you dodge a rather devestating attack, or even if back-up arrives to blow your foe to kingdom come. After their battle with Atlas, Serah and Noel realize that they won't be able to stop the beast in a straight-up fight (however, the option is still available to you!). I chose to look for a way to control Atlas, spelunking under the Ruins to look for a control device for the titan above me. I found one in the end, solving a tricky temporal puzzle on the way (more on that later), and confronted a weakened Atlas. The sheer scale was amazing; the thing was bigger than two Adamantoises! I won't spoil anything specific, but let's just say we see a little Lightning at the end... There are a lot of new changes this time around. The Crystarium is back, but this time you get basic bonuses with each level. Each time you reach a new crystal, you level up and get a new bonus; either HP, ATK, MAG, or even a combination of any of them. Like in XIII, you will learn new abilities at predetermined points and you upgrade each role seperately. However, everytime you clear a level of the Crystarium, you don't just bump up to the next. You get to choose a bonus! You can either boost the effectiveness of one of your roles, increase your ATB by 1, or increase your Accessory Points (more on that in a bit). Another big new thing in XIII-2 is the monster system. As you defeat opponents, there is a chance that they'll drop crystals. These crystals allow you to set these creatures into your paradigms, turning them into party members. You can set up to three in your Paradigm Deck, each having a pre-assigned role. For instance, Cait Sith are Medics while Pulsework Hoplites are Commandos. However, this doesn't slow you down a bit. Monsters are seamlessly switched out during Paradigm Shifts, menaing you don't have to take your eyes off of the action. monsters also share an HP bar, although their Feral Link guages are seperate. "Feral Link" is a special attack that can be executed at any time when your active monster's Feral Link guage is full, each with a different effect. I've only seen damaging Links so far, although some are power attacks, while some boost the Chain Guage. None of my character shave been KO'd during the demo, but I assume you would have to revive them like any other character. Monsters also level up through the Crystarium, although they use items rather than CP. Comabat is smoother than in XIII, and any clunkiness has been smoothed out. Another big change in combat is Wounding. Similar to Marvel vs Capcom, the HP bar has three parts: green for vitality, red for HP that can be recovers, and empty. The empty portion of the bar can only be restored with (rather expensive) Wound Potions, however the ailment vanishes after battle like any other (HP is also restored). A few new things happen in the field. First... you can jump! The second is enemy related. Enemies pop up out of nowhere, and the Mog Clock comes into play. The Clock cysles through Green, Yellow, and Red. If you attack an opponent in the field when the Clock is green, you will get a Preemptive Strike, as weel a Haste at the beginning of the fight. Yellow produces a normal battle, while red is a punishment. If you are thrown into a red battle, you will be unable to retry the fight, and I believe SE said you may even be slowed. You can save anywhere via the Start menu, although not in the demo. To counter this, shopping is done via the flamboyant Chocolina, an energetic woman in a flashy red chocobo dress. You cna but everything from items to weapons to bits to upgrade your monsters. And speaking of upgrading your monsters... You can find little accessories for them! They don't serve any real purpose, but there's nothing like seeing a feral beast beatin' the crap out of something with a paperboy's hat on! I've only had my hands on a small fraction of Final Fantasy XIII-2, but I can't wait to be all over the rest. I'll continue my countdown to January 31st, and I hope that you'll enjoy the demo as much as I did! Have any opinions about the demo yourself, or questions? Feel free to post them below!
  4. I am having some trouble deciding weather I want to buy Final Fantasy XIII-2 or just go and buy the Jak&Daxter HD collection along with Resident Evil: Revelations. Now, before I hear comments about "That's your choice. if you want the game then get the game" comments I really want to hear about opinions on if you think FF XIII-2 is worth buying. I wanted to download the demo of it but ti takes too long for my PS3 to download for some odd reason. So, tell me what you think?
  5. "I think you think too much" OHOHOHOH CLEVER ONION KNIGHT~

  7. Years after the events of Dirge Of Cerberus, Sephiroth has returned to take over the planet. This time he has put a genetic code 934 so that he could control everyone, turning them into his brothers and sisters. So that he would take the role of a god. But some people have been able to resist Sephiroths control and have the will power to stop him. Now it is up to them to stop Sephiroth and his plans. Rules: No goddmodding exept for Sephiroth( I will be him as well) No killing characters without permission No plot twists unless I say so Character sheet Name: Age: Town you live in: Bio( optional): Appearance: Weapon: (put "sword" at the end to show me you have read everything) Mine Character Sheet Name: Rikuto Age: 17 Town: Edge Bio: was taken in by Cloud when he was young. 8. If you havent heard yet, Im informing those who threw countless hours away playing FFX. SquareEnix already announced that it would be release, but there is not estimated date, timeframe, anything other than a "yes we are remaking it" But considering the release of FFXIII-2, it would be stupid to release both at the same time so I am expecting a launch date to be announced sometime after FFXIII-2 release. There has been speculation that the graphic rehaul would be either compariable to FFXIII or even using the FFXIII engine. Put it simply... I cant wait. =D Anyone else have information on the game??
  9. Yoshinori Kitase told EDGE its in January issue: “… Then there’s Versus XIII, which is currently in development. We released a trailer in January and since then there has been nothing, but I can assure you the team is working extremely hard on it and I think people will be excited when they next see it.” http://gamingeverything.com/13467/square-enix-on-versus-xiii-people-will-be-excited-when-they-next-see-it/
  10. Aperntly Final Fantasy 13-2 isn't selling well in Japan right now, and it's not doing half as well as Final fantasy 13 when it first came out. Many people think it's because many fans were disappointed with 13. But I don't understand why? Final fantasy 13 was a great game! It had a great story and great battle system. I know many fans were upset that there weren't any towns, but why would there be? The story is you are on the run, why would you be walking around town talking to everyone who had an X over their head? To those of you who were disappointed with 13, please give 13-2 a chance, they let you have towns in this one.....
  11. Name: Hope (FINAL FANTASY AMV) Category: Music videos Short Description: Well its a new year, and it was time for me to add a new video. 12. http://games.ign.com/articles/121/1215142p1.html (There's 2 pagees) What are your thoughts on their choices? Personally, I thought most of them were... bad . Too many characters from IV and VI! But that's just my opinion. Yay for Kefka, Laguna, Vivi, and Lightning though :'D.
  13. Eh, I'm too lazy to wait for Final Fantasy XIV, and I don't want to play it online anyways. So I made one. In the world of Gingasta, darkness sweeps the land. Ever since the beloved king was murdered, the prince in line disappeared, and the youngest prince took over with no intention of taking care of the kingdom, everyone is scared for their life. The youngest son was accused of killing their father, denied it, and killed anyone who might get it in his way. He is clearly searching for something, but no one knows what. The oldest son hid away in a village far from the kingdom, in the mountains. And that's where this story begins. Rules: Keep cursing low-key. Basically no f-bomb. Keep romances PG-13 No killing, or taking control of other characters without permission. No God-modding. Character sheet: Full name of Character: Nickname (if applicable): Age: Eye Color: Appearance Weight and height: Greatest Strength: Greatest Weakness: History: Character flaws: Motivation: Crushes/Relationships: Occupation (if applicable): Full name of Character: Jilus Umostus Lagardian Nickname (if applicable): 'Kip' Age: 17 Eye Color: Green Appearance: Has shoulder-length black hair, wears old royal garb, with long cape and white boots. Over his garb he wears armor. His garb is also white. Weight and height: 5-11, 145 pounds Greatest Strength: Swiftness in battle Greatest Weakness: Not trusting his friends, being able to let them die. History: Jilus was next in line to become king, and trained for that day. He was deeply saddened when his father was 'accidentally' shot in battle. When he was becoming a suspect of his father's death, he did the only smart thing; he ran. His 16 year-old brother became king in his place, residing over the palace and his 14 year-old sister and mother. Jilus ran to the mountains, to a small village that he didn't even know of. He spent his days drinking himself into unconsciousness with almost all of his money. Character flaws: Not caring anymore. Motivation: Eventually, to take his kingdom back. Crushes/Relationships: Pretty much every pretty girl he meets. Occupation (if applicable): Former prince/king of Gingasta.
  14. I think the Ultima Weapon in Two is the best.......... i don't really know any others that well
  15. Okay, so I've been wondering about what the Preorder Bonuses were for FFXIII-2, as I plan to get it. Since Japan got DLC and we got preorder bonuses(the Alternate Costume, Omega, and the Episode i Novella), would we(we being the US, as I don't know the situation of other countries.) get the preorder bonuses as DLC later on? I know that the Kuda bow will be available for XBOX360 DLC for a dollar. Is that the only DLC the states will be getting? If so, are you going to preorder 13-2 and from where? Link to the preorder Bonuses (not where you can preorder them, just an article.) : http://www.gameinfor...s-revealed.aspx Amazon: Omega Boss Fight (is recruitable afterwards.) Best Buy: Episode i Novella Gamestop: Alternate Costume for Serah 360 Exclusive DLC: Kuda Azrael Bow for Serah
  16. This is my Dissidia version of the Final Fantasy Characters that didn't get into Dissidia 1 or 2. The characters in the first chapter will be Sazh and Snow, and I'll put Hope in a little later. Chapter One: Introduction: Snow is a man who fights for what is precious to him. He helps friends in need and never refuses a fight. He vows to save the one he loves from her fate. He joins Sazh and tries to find his way to Cosmos with him. - Snow trudged down the path in Lufenia, clutching Serah's Crystal teardrop. He remembered fighting a Fal'Cie after Serah had been cystallized. He gripped it harder, and kept walking. -That chick...Cosmos...she said I could go back and save her. Once I defeated that Chaos guy. But, if Lightning was already here and had defeated him, why do I have to? Are Gods really that immortal? Not even Light could defeat him?- He thought. He saw the mark on his wrist. -When did I get that...?- He heard gunshots up ahead. "Is that..." he said out loud, and saw a man with an afro and a pair of pistols. "It's Light's friend, whatever his name is...Sash, is it?" He ran up to Sazh, and saw what he was shooting at. It looked like a person made of glass, and didn't shatter when it was shot. Sazh fell over from exhaustion. "Trenchcoat guy...a little help here?" Snow grinned. "Finally. Some action for the hero." It was about to attack Sazh with its' large katana. Snow grabbed the katana, yanked it out of its' hands, and punched it in the face. The person grunted in a dark tone that didn't sound how a person would speak. It flew back into a rock, and the rock cracked on impact, and the glass-person vanished. Sazh was breathing heavy. "Much appreciated." Then, Sazh remembered how Cosmos said Chaos had men on his side, too. He raised his gun, and put it against Snow's head. "Who did you first see when you came here?" Snow put his hands up, turned around, and said, "Some chick. Said her name was Cosmos." Sazh sighed with relief, and lowered his guns. "Well, then. Let's find this chick." Sazh, said, holstering his guns. Chapter One End
  17. Hello, first off let me say that I'm sorry if this is in the wrong section. New to the site. Anyways, having been a KH fan for a long time, I think it's about time I play a FF game and see what all the hype is about. However, there's like 500 games lol. Which game do you guys think I should play first?
  18. I think that it would be really close and FF would win. FF has more characters and it has various mages and warriors.
  19. http-~~-//www.youtube.com/watch?v=7QHAWNiTssg&feature=g-u&context=G2c30274FUAAAAAAAJAA
  20. Doesn't look too shabby.... seems like the developers learned from the criticism.
  21. tutti frutti. For those that are waiting for Final Fantasy Versus XIII to come out, how much of an expectation for Versus do you have for the game? It's be at least half a decade for the game, and we are still pretty much left in the dark about information pertaining to the game. I'm still sort of questioning the release on the game myself, though only time will prove me otherwise. We should get some type of info about how much of the game is finished, an idea on when the game is coming out, etc.
  22. I was wondering how many of you guys got final fantasy 13? It seemed like Square thought they made a mistake by putting it on the Xbox, but I bought my version for the Xbox. Also, how many of you are getting the sequel? I wish they would make Versus for Xbox.
  23. Ok so I know that i'm not the only musician or music lover on the site and i was st thinking of starting a thread where people can post up sheet music for either of the series, Kingdom Hearts or Final Fantasy. also if anybody learns to play the sheets posted and wants to make a video of them performing it that would be AWESOME.
  24. Ever since Final Fantasy Type-0 was revealed (as Final Fantasy Agito XIII) a few years ago its potential localization has been in question. In its original form as a cell phone game its chances were nearly 0, which would be quite befitting now. But as it’s now only released for PSP the chances increased dramatically and we’ve all been waiting on baited breath to hear about it travelling to western shores. It would seem that wait is over however, thanks to a brand new interview with producer Yoshinori Kitase coming out of Spanish gaming site Vandal.net. Thanks to our very own forum member Lymle we have a proper translation of one very important question and answer: What else can you tell us about the other Fabula Nova Crystallis games? We haven’t heard anything about Type-0 or Versus lately. [Laughs] Type-0, as you probably know already, was released in Japan last month, so that one’s finished. We’re currently working on the North American and European versions which you will know of very soon. Versus hasn’t been released in Japan yet, but we released a trailer last January. We’re working really hard to finish it. We’ll reveal new stuff within the next few months. And there you have it folks, if this interview is to be believed, we have official confirmation of Type-0′s western releases! (Credit goes to finalfantasy13.net)
