  1. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Gb6emOPFbIg Here are the directors for Zootopia/Zootropolis. They've really put a lot of effort and intricacy of the movie and why they've been so successful with their movies as of late!
  2. 19 YEARS OF A GREAT TIME GROWING UP WITH ANIMATION. THIS IS A POST ABOUT PIXAR'S IMPACT ON AUDIENCE SINCE THEY FIRST RELEASED TOY STORY AND THE HYPE FOR THE GOOD DINOSAUR. I hope you enjoy reading this post Did that trailer made you tear up It surely made me It was 20 years ago Pixar released their first CGI Animated Feature Toy Story 1995. And during this time I have had a great childhood growing up with animated features both from Disney Animation, Pixar Animation and other Animation companies as well. I remember watching Toy Story many times as a kid and grew beautiful nostalgia memories /my core memories/ from Toy Story 2, Monsters Inc, Finding Nemo many from Pixar like Ratatouille, all from Pixar except for Brave. Every time I watch Monsters Inc I cry it's such a nostalagic, original and touching story that I remember me as 5/6 year old child loving and wanted to re watch many times on vhs. Then one year later I was 7 and was obsessed with Finding Nemo and collected Happy Meal toys and received Finding Nemo as my first DVD. as 8 I saw Brad Bird's The Incredibles another great Pixar film that I remember me and my cousins used to play we were Dash and Violet after we had seen the film pretending we had superpowers/huh the old days. When I was 10 me and my dad had an awesome father and son friday night watching Cars in theaters. I loved the first Cars just as much as Incredibles and shared a strong bond with my father who enjoyed the movie just as much we have, and will never care about the critics. When Ratatouille came out I was 11 and once again shared a connection with my father who really liked the film's message and I loved Remy and related to him a lot even though he was a rat . Then Wall.e came when I was 12, Wall.e was a film that I watched a lot with my sister like we used to when we watched The early Toy Story films as very young children. Wall.e was definitely a cute film that I liked but was not my favourite. What I loved about the year 2009 when I became a teen was that Up came out. My parents and some friends of mine thought the character design made the movie look childish and oh boy were they wrong the film made both of my parents tear up at the opening while they first said they wouldn't even give it a try. And the rest of the film was a great adventure with my favourite Up character Dug. Being 14 was finally an age where I somehow started to be less insecure and more open to the stuff I liked and Toy Story 3 was indeed a great way to end the trilogy. The main impact on the story I understood but wasn't taken away by but I was only 14 back then and now that Im older I can more relate to Andy in Toy Story 3. And then yet again Cars 2 came out when I was 15 and I saw it again with my father and we actually enjoyed it which was all that was needed, we actually really liked how they traveled around the world. Although I would have wished they stayed with Mcqueen as the protagonist and more screen time for Sally. 16 was an age that I really enjoyed things were changing people started to treat you more like a grown up but Brave surely did not fall to my taste but luckily WDA's Wreck It Ralph came to the rescue that year. As 17 things were really changing but MU came out just at the right time in my life. The coincidence was that I happened to be the same age as Mike in MU while I was in a new school that I had fought really hard to get into. I saw the film on the premiere and this movie reminded me so much about MI from my childhood and my current situation as a teen. I love The MI franchise with a passion and MU made me cry just like MI had. And since there was no Pixar film in 2014 I was busy with Big Hero 6 and HTTYD2, then later Inside Out came out at the right time. I didn't watch Inside Out while it was brand new I watched it 2 months later when I had felt sad and a little depressed, but watching Inside Out with it's bright animation, moving story and funny gags made me feel better after the film was over And now that I have simply wrapped up my childhood with Pixar we come to a film that have connected with me crazily since I saw a preview at this year D23. It's The Good Dinosaur. This film have really captured my soul and there are 2 reasons to why I have really connected with this film. 1. The film's main protagonist Arlo keeps reminding me about my favourite dinosaur growing up Littlefoot from TLBT both in personality and voice. This have caused me to see Arlo as a nostalgic Littlefoot through my eyes. Spot is also a reason I have connected to this film and that is because of his rare features. When you think of an animated character you can relate to through appearance there is no Disney or Pixar boy character that have turquoise blue colored eyes and straight light brown hair except for Andy from Toy Story 3. Light brown hair also mentioned as caramel is rare in animated boy characters, so therefor Spot is the second animated boy character to have this rare feature. I know it's small details but when you can see the resemblance of an animated character by appearance it's a thing you get excited for, but I look very similar to Andy from TS3. 2. The Realistic Visuals/Cartoonish Design When I first got to see these beautiful realistic visuals on the big screen at D23 I was completely blown away by what I saw Never had I ever seen something so freaking realistic in animation since Tintin 2011 and Epic. Well that's all I wanted to point out, Do you have a strong connection to Pixar's films growing up, let me know your thoughts
  3. Hey Kingdom Hearts Fans LOOK!!!! Don started a kickstarter yesterday to turn Dragon's lair into a movie https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/donbluth/dragons-lair-the-movie/description He is a personal friend of mine and he is super excited about this project!
  4. Can't wait for the full trailer this Friday this just looks amazing!
  5. This proves that there is a lot of support and interest from an audience in another Halloweentown movie (provided that Kimberly J. Brown is Marnie of course): "5,000 people usually turn up here at the busiest time of year - in July. Tonight (Oct. 10), there were 10,000 people" There is so much that they could do with the series were they to continue the story. They were actually supposed to do a 5th, titled Halloweentown: She's the Witch, which would have wrapped up the series with Marnie becoming a fully powered witch and tying up the plot of the amulet at the end of the 4th. The mega successes of Maleficent and Frozen have proven that the fantasy genre (especially that with a female protagonist) is still popular. Kimberly and the cast being older actually works well for the story too considering the audience that grew up with the movies is around the same age now too. That tactic has worked for Girl Meets World, which successfully brought back both the old audience who grew up with Boy Meets World as well as a new audience, both groups of which enjoy the old and new cast and elements featured in the show. That show is now probably the most successful currently on Disney Channel and arguably one of its most popular sitcoms in history. The same kind of success could happen with Halloweentown should they choose to pursue it.
  6. How much do you know about Davy Jones? If you know nothing, then see this. You will learn everything about Davy Jones.
  7. Personally, I'd say this is the best trailer yet. I have a lot more questions regarding the movie after seeing this... On the bright side, we're getting closer to the movie's theatrical release!
  8. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0jstr5-gpIU I took the liberty of creating a collection of Disney Animation teaser trailers. Surprisingly, there is a lot of history that can be delved into the success and failings of each movie alongside technical advancements and definition changes of the various Disney movies. For convenience purposes, I've also provided a timeline as to which trailer starts when: I hope you enjoy this compilation. 0:16 - The Princess and The Frog 1:16 - Tangled 1:45 - Winnie The Pooh 2:01 - Wreck-It Ralph 3:16 - Frozen 4:45 - Big Hero 6 6:19 - Zootopia/Zootropolis
  9. The film did not deserve the crap that it received. It had a lot of great potential, only to be ruined by a mix of studio meddling and audience's reactions. Pay particular attention to the latter. A lot of it has to do with people's reactions to the movie which are not necessarily right or wrong. A lot of the complaints about the movie being "generic" are probably mostly coming from audience members perhaps seeing too many movies. They have spoiled their expectations for movies by devouring what seems like every single movie in a particular genre after another. You do not need to see EVERY single movie that comes your way As I have always said its not how something is similar to something. It is how it is not. Saying something is crap because it is too similar to something else has got to be the most ridiculous thing I have ever seen in my life, more ridiculous than the movie/whatever itself. Why do you play Mario Kart/any other racing game with pretty much the same gameplay (btw a LOT more derivative of each other than any similar movies ever will be)? Because you LIKE that kind of gameplay and what to experience it, however similar or different. Its also like playing a sport. SPOILER ALERT: you do the exact same generic thing over and over again with it or any other sport, most of which are quite similar to each other. Whether or not you enjoy them is how they are within themselves. You should treat every single movie you see as if it is the first and last one you'll ever see. You should not have to compare it to others to have a good time. You decide if you wanna see it based on if you like the concepts or ideas teased to you however brief from the trailers or whatever other unbiased source. No need to rely on any of this Rotten Tomatoes or word of mouth crap. Why most of my least favourite movies came from recommendations. I would actually pay money to unsee them. They were that bad. The movie in itself did have its faults but from what people have said about it, you'd think it was like the worst thing ever made. I've seen many acclaimed movies that I would rank a lot lower, even after thinking critically about them and what made them so acclaimed. I'm hearing more complaints about it being "generic" than anything else. What is generic to you may not be to everyone else. So we are supposed to see every superhero movie ever made eh? What if some people had never seen them or Chronicle (which I haven't nor have any desire to regardless of its acclaim) or any of these other movies its compared to. Besides, you may end up liking the execution better here than even other things that were acclaimed to have done it better. Just because a lot of people do not like it does not mean that it is bad. As well, do you want to be controlled by what you like? Because going by what everyone else says lets them control you. And personally, NOTHING on this earth makes me angrier than being controlled by others. This is MY life. Whatever I do is MY choice and I will consider, but not let others even majority block me from enjoying whatever it is I want to enjoy. Other times it may be needed but in this context we are talking about an experience that is intimate and personal. Heck my life has suffered more from seeing/doing things that the majority recommended than me trusting myself. You can read more about my reasonings behind this series continuing here:http://moviepilot.com/posts/2015/10/06/5-reasons-why-fox-should-green-light-the-fantastic-four-sequel-3576531?lt_source=external,manual As well, for anyone interested, the (North American) Blu ray release is December 15
  10. And so I suppose you can say that the official promotion of Moana has started to sail with the reveal of the voice behind Disney's new "princess": Auli’i Cravalho (her first name is pronounced au-lee-ee, I'm not entirely sure about her surname) is a newcomer who is a Native Hawaiian so she fits the character perfectly since Moana is Polynesian herself. I'm really glad that the voice is of a newcomer because it'll really define both the actress and the character instead of watching the film and getting reminded of another character from another film. So far we have the voice of Auli’i as the protagonist, and Dwayne "The Rock" who plays the demi-god Maui. Check out the Disney Wiki to find out more. Kingdom Hearts-wise, from what all that I know of the film I feel it'd be wonderful to see the world of Moana in KH3. Using the big area advantage to show the world of the film, and who knows maybe they've included it since they do get early sneak-peeks on Disney's projects. (One can only hope!)
  11. Hayden Christensen, the Dark Lord himself is rumoured to return for the upcoming Star Wars: Episode VIII.
  12. The City of Bones movie showed great potential in its over all interpretation of the book. The casting was close to perfect and the overall feeling of the book was well captured. While some parts were exeucted weakly, over all the film showed great potential should its cinematic universe be continued. Its already been promised that the City of Ashes movie will be way more closer to the book, as was many second installments of book adapation movies. Chamber of Secrets, New Moon and Sea of Monsters were all much closer to the book than their first installments were, and fans liked them much better than the first one as well. You must also consider that this was the people working on City of Bones' first time, so now that they know the world better and have listened to feedback, then the second time around may indeed be the charm! Just give it a chance, even if you did not like City of Bones, hang in there, City of Ashes onwards could be amazing films that could be even better than the books! Ps. Help support the movie by buying it on Blu ray to help DVD sales go up Please sign this and not just plus 1 it/repost it: https://www.change.org/en-CA/petitions/constantin-film-make-the-remaning-mortal-instruments-books-into-movies

  15. So most of you know who Slenderman is by now, but do you know of the Marble Hornets YouTube series? The guys behind the series took the myth of the 'Slenderman' and turned it into a cool story as a project for their film class at my school, The University of Alabama. If you have not watched the series and like scary stuff I strongly suggest you watch it. They are separated into 'entries' and span over a few years of filming. The games and popularity pretty much originated from this series even though it is not as well known as the games and fiction. The point though is what the fans reaction to the show and the ending were? I loved the show but the ending was a little dull and did not have much closure. Their channel is now called Clear Lakes 44 for a new project they are working on. Since I am going to school here I have met some of the people and have found one of the creepier sets for the show which is an abandoned mental institution on the outskirts of the city. I have plenty of pictures if you guys think it is worth sharing! I will have to convert them to JPEG though because CR2 is too big to upload so if it gets enough interest I will.
  16. (not sure if this is a thread or anything but yeha. got soem itneresting updates) So Valitntines day is suppose to eb about love and fiend ship it also showed us some new info on the reboot spider-man movie franchise. THe name of the film is THE AMAZING SPIDER-MAN the film which is film in entierly in 3D Stars Andrew Garfield (Red Riding triliogy, Dr. Who, Lion for Lambs) As a Peter Parker in other retailing of his origin story. insted of mary jane we have Emma Stone (Zombieland, Superbad) as Gwen Stacy Peters love interest. But don;t expect this to be the fun witty spidey everyone knos and loves this is a much darker and more gritter based version of the charater. But fans shoudl eb happy to boot that web shooters are making an apperice. And sony unleased the photo of some guy who is not Andrew Garfield (but everyone says it is but i disagree) dress in the new costume. Also for The villians for Lizard and Van Addler don;t expet to see the Proto-Goblin. Becuase Indain Actor Ifrran Kahn *Insert Captin kirk from THAT Star Trek film scream "KAHN!" * Isn;t going to be wearign a coustume donning a mask, or make up. so, that could mean is thsi version of the proto-goblin going to use the lizard , and have a Mind over Matter type battle with the webhead? will we see a totally CGI Version of the moster charater? Or well they build it up? The Actor Kahn, thoguth that spider-man was going to be a "violent american fatasy." he accepted hsi role under two condictions, he didn;t want to wear a mask OR be a sci-fi monster. Seem Director Marc Webb has spun up something each time. The Amazing Spider-Man will web sling into theaters on July 3rd 2012 in 3D. Now a question for all of you out there. What Do you guys think of the new costume? What Do you think of the film so far?

  18. I think Disney and the world are finally in a position to have an openly gay character with the U.S in particular allowing same-sex marriage country wide in addition to other countries already supporting it like Canada and likely soon Australia. Vote away!
  19. *SPOILERS ALERT* This is my 3rd movie review ever so I might miss some points . 12 Rounds 3 : Lockdown is the third installment in the 12 Rounds movie series producted by WWE Studios . The plot is not connected to the last two films (12 Rounds 2 :Reloaded and 12 Rounds 1) . The protagonist is Jonathan Good also known as Dean Ambrose , a wrestler currently working with WWE . Plot Summary Detective Shaw returned to active duty after he was cleared by psychologists . He had been accused of killing his partner during a shooting that is not shown in the movie . He gets his hands on a USB containing evidence of fellow Detective Burke ,who had been taking part in major drug-dealing operations with drug dealer George Freemont (whom Burke killed at the beginning of the movie so that there's no evidence that links to his crimes) . When Burke realises that Shaw has evidence of his previous actions , he instantly heads to the police station , gathers the other corrupted cops and orders a lockdown in the building . The only people that are left inside the bulding are Shaw , Burke (accompanied by his group) and Officer Taylor (who is also killed by Burke) . As Shaw constantly tries to get into contact with Captain Matthews (who is later revealed to be taking part in Burke's operations) , Det . Burke puts the blame on his fellow officer for the death of one of his partners and Taylor . Meanwhile , John Shaw , who only has 12 rounds in his gun , after killing all of Burke's men and having the evidence destroyed by him , runs into a SWAT Team that was sent into the building to check what's going on (ordered by Chief Keppler from the outside) . When the protagonist finally meets with Matthews , she gets executed by Burke who confesses about all of his plans . Keppler and the SWAT Team come in and move on to arrest Shaw when he suddenly plays an audio of Burke's earlier confession . Before Burke shoots Shaw , he gets shot with the last round from John's gun who leaves the police station . Alright , so there's the plot . To begin with , there have been a lot of negative reviews of the movie but I think it was pretty good . The plot is short and to the point . There are no misunderstandings or no backgrounds of actors that the viewers need to know about . Violence is a huge element of the movie but it's combined with clever lines and great sound effects so that it is not noticeable . A drawback that I first noticed at the beginning of the film is that we don't get to know more about Det. Shaw's background and why he really was tested by psychologists. Also , the name "12 Rounds" was not connected with the plot that much as "12 Rounds" is only mentioned when Shaw counts the bullets in his gun (unlike in the two previous movies in which 12 Rounds represented a vicious game ).The whole story takes place in the police department that Shaw works at . That's another minus . However , the fact that viewers don't really have to remember lots of names and places is positive . That's why "simple" works this time around . Actors : Dean Ambrose : All you need to know about him is that his WWE gimmick is being a crazy guy that does not care about a thing . That's what he also represents in this film . His performance is not as good as the last two protagonists' in the trilogy but it's fine as it is . Roger Cross : He's played in numerous films and TV series so you really can' t complain about his performance this time around . He is the main antagonist who portrays a corrupted cop . Daniel Cudmore : Also an experienced actor . He is Burke's main sidekick and the last of Burke's men to be killed . During the film , he controls the security sytem , cameras and Network connection of the police station , making it difficult for Shaw to survive . There are a lot more actors that I did not mention above such as Rebecca Marshall who plays the role of Captain Matthews and Matthew Harrison who is George Freemont . That was my review . Yeah , I've probably missed A LOT of points . For any of you who have seen the movie , what did you think about it ? Did you like it or did you just hate it ?
