  1. Back in December, Tai Yasue, the co-director of the Kingdom Hearts series revealed that both Kingdom Hearts HD 1.5 ReMIX & HD 2.5 ReMIX could make their way to PlayStation 4. However, in an interview with Ruliweb, Tetsuya Nomura, the director of the Kingdom Hearts series has stated there are no plans to do so. The most likely reason for this appears to be that they do not want to delay Kingdom Hearts III, as both HD 1.5 ReMIX & HD 2.5 ReMIX were both developed by the Kingdom Hearts team for unknown reasons. Tai Yasue stated in the interview linked above that they did not want Kingdom Hearts III delayed. Another likely reason is that the PlayStation 4 requires all games to have digital versions while both HD 1.5 ReMIX & HD 2.5 ReMIX did not on PlayStation 3, likely due to licensing issues. Thanks go to @RedMakuzawa for the tip, Jess from Tumblr and Amber from Tumblr for the translation.

  3. I got into Kingdom Hearts fairly late. I never even had a Sony console until I got a PS2 near or after the launch of the PS3, so 2006 or 2007. This has always left me in a bit of an odd position with the series: none of the teenaged nostalgia, but enough of the joy of playing the newer games along with everyone else and discovering the series' mysteries and high points. It's become an important part of my life, and it's for that reason that I've started this in-depth retrospective series, to talk about the series from end-to-end. This is is a series about joy - both Kingdom Hearts and this retrospective. It will be fairly detailed, taking a good long look at each moment, with a look at game design, narrative, art and art direction, and an attempt to capture both the perspective of an experienced fan and what I remember of being a new one. To better facilitate the latter, I try to discuss only what’s in front of us and what’s come before, to see what mysteries a new player could solve. Not so much "no spoiler" as "low spoiler." With any luck, someone unfamiliar with a particular game could read along and get almost as much from it as an experienced reader. I hope you'll come along for the ride. 4. So, I recently managed to completely finish/platinum all the HD remixes. It was mega fun even though there were some frustrating moments. Gummi ship missions? Never again... When KH3 comes out, i'll be sure to do the same with it. If you've also done this, I have a few questions simply because i'm curious about what others have done. I noticed that, when I looked up a guide for KH2's gummi missions, most people just wanted to get the S rank for one normal and one EX mission each route. Others wanted just an S rank at least for every mission. I can't find hardly anything (guides, ETC.) on people wanting to S+10 all the third missions, EX included. I've done this because i'm a major completionist and it makes me feel like I've fully cleared the missions. A few amount of people on YouTube have commented that they were going to do this, too. - What about you? What have you done when it comes to KH2's gummi ship missions? Did you do just enough to get the trophies, or did you try getting the highest rank on all of them? - My other questions: - To you, was Terra's Lingering Will really that hard to beat? How did your fight go? - - The same question as above, except it's about the Mysterious Figure from Birth By Sleep. - - Which Org. 13 member was the hardest for you to fight in the Cavern of Remembrance? - - While trying to platinum/beat the games 100%, what was your least favorite thing to do, and what was your most favorite? - I guess you can still reply to some of these even if you haven't beaten the games completely. Depends on if you've done the secret bosses or gummi routes. I'm interested in hearing your answers.
  5. A friend of mine is planning to livestream all the KH games everyday up to KH3D starting August 13. It'd be awesome if you guys could check out the trailer of his https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7J-w3Ct0C2E
  6. So yeah, I was planning to complete the Gummiship missions in KHFM, which is always annoying for me with those crazy-ass missions that looks impossible to complete... ._. But, I gotta do it for the trophy regardless. And for that, I really need you guy's helps and tips for completing it...
  7. On my last playthrough of KH Final Mix on Proud, I didn't like my choices in Dive to the Heart. If I want to level up to 100, defeat all bosses, and unlock the Ultima Weapon, what should I choose, and what should I give up? Also, what should I pick for the questions that Tidus, Wakka, and Selphie ask? Any help is appreciated.
  8. I'm trying to defeat Dustflier on Mission Mode, but I can't. He keep using his shockwave and explosive fireballs at me. Not only that, his defense is so high, I can't barely damage him. And I'm using Zero Gear! Is there any easy way to beat him?

This is quite an old drawing of mine (drew it back in 2010!). I wanted to upload it here for the rest of ye to see and I hope you like it. I don't draw as frequently as I'd like to but I'll always like this drawing. I've also thought about digitally colouring it in at some point but I've never gotten around to it

  11. After playing Days with it's awful graphics and gameplay, I finally found how make Days better now. Thanks to the video, Days isn't horrible anymore.
  12. Did Nomura plan Xion before he planned to make KHDays? I've seen people who've said that Xion, or something like her, was planned since KHFM because of what appears to be Xehanort sampling Sora's memories at the end of the unknown boss fight. Though in KH2 I feel that the implied relationship at the end with Roxas and Namine is a little strange and seems almost forced if you consider Xion being a thing in Nomura's mind. So what do you guys think? Any evidence you think I'm missing that proves/disproves it?
  13. I have recently sent to "TheGamersJoint" a message offering this theory, and here it is : Hey Cynic, I've been watching your videos for just a few days ever since KHIII's trailer came out, and you actually caught my attention with how dedicated you are to share information about the franchise. For a while, I've been thinking of something that maybe not many of thought of it this way, but hear me out. I believe that calling Roxas as Sora's nobody is a grave mistake, and this could mean many things for the future of the franchise. To start things off, I have watched your video concerning the famous question "Why does Ventus look like Roxas?", as you clarified it with the events linked with KH1 and KHBBS. However, there is still a concern with, like you said in that video, saying that Roxas IS Sora's nobody. I believe it isn't the case. Let's start with obvious basics of what has been thought to Sora : When someone gives in their heart to the world, a heartless and nobody is born from that person. An example of this is Xehanorth with Ansem and Xemnas. But let's notice something : they have nothing in common in physical appearances. We can say the same for Naminé and Kairi ; originally thought to be linked. But, it's interesting ever since KHDDD where, at the end of the game, most of Organization XIII members, after awaking from their slumber and being "restored" to people, they look the same? This nobody theory seems controversial to me. From KHBBS' information, it has been shown that Ventus has been accepted in Sora's heart to dorm in while his body sleeps after his battle against Vanitas. Like in your video where you talk about this topic, I believe it is correct to say that Ventus was released in KH1 where Sora "sacrifices" himself for everyone he held in his own heart. However, this is the key part to understand WHO we see as "Roxas" appears into Twilight Town for the first time. He appears infront of Twilight Town's mansion, speechless. Shortly, Xemnas appears out of the blue to adress "Roxas". As he introduces him to his identity, I sincerely believe that Xemnas had Xehanorth's point of view over the situation. He saw this as a new chance to take this as a vessel of darkness. Let's call, "Roxas", Ventus, as I'm positive it is actually him. Ventus then gets renamed ROXAS, a code name for SORA. It is even further obvious to me that the boy we see is Ventus with vacant memories of his true past, because of the following reasons. 1: Xion's creation. She was made out of memories purely, just like a heart is in the world of Kingdom Hearts. The distinction from both is that Xion was modelled from Sora while Ventus had a share of his own core with Sora's, which permitted him to even exist again. 2: The controversial point I stated earlier in KHDDD, where Organization XIII reborns as their identical selves physically, is noticeable with Sora and Ventus : Ventus returns to Sora without Sora changing. 3: It has been mentionned in multiple games (KH2, KH358/2 Days for example) that it's surprising to see a Keyblade wielder as a Nobody. If no other Nobody has ever been able to wield a keyblade, shouldn't this be a notice that Ventus isn't a representation of a true Nobody? Doesn't a Keyblade choose a master to reflects a sense of purity inside of themselves, like Sora shows in KH1 VS Riku? 4: If Nobodies truly cannot feel, why is it that Ventus could feel remorse for the people he loses, like Xion? 5: Isn't a coincidence that Ventus starts again a life exactly the way he was found by Xehanorth in KHBBS, how he had NO clue of who he even was? These things have been connecting in my mind for a long time. Make this into a video of what you think. Because, the point of all of this, is : If it only was Ventus, we have not truly seen who Sora's nobody is. If this is correct, KH3 might reveal the true secret behind the creation of nobodies. EDIT : Chucky the Wise And Flaming Lea Were both VERY helpful people to answer questions, check them out!
  14. Around 0:35, you can see a different keyblade Sora is using. On the end of it, you can see Zeus holding a lightning bolt. OC confirmed!

  16. My graduation cap design for my graduation this Saturday, I based it of course off a keyblade card from KH CoM and used the year 2015 as the number of it.
  17. Hey guys. So I was trying to get some synthesized items in KH1FM (1.5) and I was curious, is there an easier way to get mythril shards? I keep defeating spider pots over and over but nothing comes. I have all 3 lucky strikes equipped so I have no clue why it's hard. Any tips?
  18. In the original Japanese version of Kingdom Hearts I there was not an option to choose what difficulty you wanted compared to the original English version of Kingdom Hearts in which you had the option to choose between Normal mode and Expert mode. Who knows what else is different between one version of a Kingdom Hearts game with another version? Very interesting indeed.
  19. Just finished doing a speed run of Kingdom Hearts Final Mix hd and it got me thinking of the original beta trailer for the game and how scenes were changed or left out completely. I tried to get all the changes, or removed scenes, but some were just too short to include, also there is an example of one of the comparisons below https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=coqz9gkq0xU
  20. So, what kind of deck do you have for the endgame of RE: CoM? Personally, I use a high-value (number wise, not CP) Fire deck that takes advantage of the various AoE Fire element sleights. A majority of the CP cost comes from the Elixirs I use for easy restocking. I'll post a list later.
  21. Something has been stewing in my mind lately and I want to hear you guys thoughts. I was rewatching the cutscenes from ReCom, and Days and I noticed something about Rikus relationships with Repliku, Xion and Roxas. Lets go in order of him meeting them: He first meets the Repliku in Com and treats him like his enemy giving him no sympathy until the very end when Riku kills him in Twilight Town. I mean I don't really blame him, Repliku is constantly attacking him and treats him very hostile. But you really do see a shift in Rikus view of this puppet in its final moments. Even going so far as to maybe pity and show some sympathy- giving Repliku a hope that his existence will go where ever Rikus heart would end up, rather than simply disappearing. I never really thought about this much until I rewatched Days and really critically looked at Rikus relationship with Roxas and another puppet being of course Xion. When ever I saw Riku and Xion interacting, I noticed that their was almost a softness to the way Riku treated her. At first I thought maybe it was just because she looks like Kairi, and Riku having a nostalgic fondness for her appearance. Making him treat her nicer than he might've. But then it hit me when Namine told Riku about Xion and how she and Roxas needs to disappear. He seemed at least to me, to be reluctant to do it. Like he didn't like the thought of it at all but would go along with it because it would wake up Sora. But look at what he does after this. Riku could've just done what he did with Roxas and take her back by force. I mean there is a point where he is holding her unconscious in his arms! He had the perfect opportunity to do it but he chose to talk to her instead. He chose to try and convince her to come back to Sora rather than take her by force. And he even leaves the option open for her to not come back. He lets her go and make her own decision to either come with him or stay with her friends. Although what he would've done if she chose to not come back is a topic for another day... I mean Xion held Soras memories of KAIRI, one of the most important persons to Sora. She holds the key to waking Sora up. You would think knowing all this that Riku would go to any lengths necessary, collateral damage and all, to get those memories back. Compare how he treats Roxas to see what I mean. When I watched the end of Days and their fight, this is what I expected Riku to be like towards Xion. Pretty unsympathetic, goal oriented, distant, and cold. I mean the entire time they are on screen together, Riku doesn't even say Roxas name. He refers to Roxas as 'he', 'thing', and - although jokingly- as Sora. The closest he gets to naming Roxas is to call him "his (soras) Nobody" Do you know what this implies? This is evidence of Riku trying to distance himself from what he is doing. He is trying to depersonalize Roxas so that he (riku) will not feel as bad about what he is doing. It is a mental defense mechanism to help him cope. I mean, he could've gone the route he took with Xion and tried to talk to him instead. I mean there is a great scene in the Manga where he talks to Roxas but doesn't tell him about Sora. I mean, Roxas wants to know who Sora is by the end, why he has the Keyblade, and who he is. Riku could've promised him answers; told him about Sora, and his relation to him (roxas) and how he would be complete going back to him, and how Sora would fulfil Xions and Roxas last wish of freeing Kingdom hearts. But he doesn't, he takes him by force. At the end of the fight in Days, Riku reflects on this saying things could've been different if Roxas knew about Sora. And then, throughout the beginning of KH2, Riku says it is better that Roxas not know, that he receive his fate to return to Sora unwillingly-the COMPLETE OPPOSITE OF HOW HE ACTED TOWARDS XION! I began to think, why is he doing this? Why is he treating them so different? It would've been so much easier to just take Xion and Roxas back by force and have Sora wake up sooner, right? I think Rikus exp with Repliku is the reason he treated Xion so softly. He saw Repliku go to really extreme lengths just to have his own existence and being, going so far as to try to kill him. And I think the memory of having to strike Repliku down is what bred a sympathy for these puppet creatures. They never even had a say in their own creation or destiny. They were created to be tools to use til broken, nothing more. And maybe Riku in a small way can relate to that, having had been used as a tool by Ansem SoD. Maybe he wanted to give this puppet, for once in its life, the choice of what its fate would be. But that didn't explain why he treated Roxas so coldly even from the beginning. I think it is because Riku perhaps felt he had no other choice. That by the time he had to confront Roxas there was no other way to get him to come with him. But again, he knew that both of them had to return to Sora in Days so he could've just TALKED TO ROXAS IN DAYS or HAD XION TALK TO HIM ABOUT IT! But he didn't, which lead to my next theory that, Riku at least at the beginning harbored a bit of hate towards Roxas. I mean, if you recall Ansem the Wise apologized to Roxas, Riku never did, even to say it to Sora hoping Roxas could hear him. I think that perhaps Riku looked at Roxas and saw him just as DiZ saw him: someone who should disappear who had no right to even be. That Roxas was a part of Sora and had no say about where he belonged. Roxas was Sora and his destiny was to go back. Riku maybe saw him as an obstacle to Sora waking, and his destruction as a means to an end, instead of seeing him as the person who he was. Which led to a tragic irony that, in trying to not treat the puppet Xion like a tool, he came to treat Roxas like a tool. Or perhaps he just took on this way of treating him as a mechanism to rationalize what he had to do: end an existence to save another. It really is rather tragic, and really human in a way. He had no right answer in how he treated these two people. He couldn't let them live, and he didn't want to make them die, but he had to make a choice. He chose his friends, the ones he loved. And really, what would so many real people do if faced with that situation? I think we kinda forgot that Days really tells the story of not only Roxas and Xion and Axel, but of Riku too. Of his struggle to make the right choice, and decide the fates of three people. What do you guys think? I think RIkus side of the story in Days is one that really gets ignored in discussions and I would love to hear your thoughts.
  22. This May 6th marks the ten year anniversary of the European launch of Kingdom Hearts: Chain of Memories for the GameBoy Advance, having shipped roughly 200,000 units in Europe and 1.55 million copies worldwide. Though it is considered the least successful game in the Kingdom Hearts series, it has still received generally positive reviews, with the most praise directed towards the story. The tagline for this is "Adventure is in the cards." Kingdom Hearts: Chain of Memories was first announced, along with Kingdom Hearts II, at the Tokyo Game Show in September of 2003. The idea for a intermediary game began after Tetsuya Nomura and his team had already begun plans for Kingdom Hearts II. The original title then was Kingdom Hearts: Lost Memories, but the title was changed to match the premise of game, while keeping the theme of memories. It also provided a way to start Kingdom Hearts II with Sora and co. not having access to the abilities and equipment earned in the first game. While Nomura was hesitant to release a Kingdom Hearts game on the GBA, after considering his options and planning accordingly, and hearing that children wanted a Kingdom Hearts game for the GBA, he changed his mind. Since then, Chain of Memories has been released for the PS2 as Re:Chain of Memories and for the PS3 as part of Kingdom Hearts: 1.5 HD ReMIX. Of note is Jupiter's involvement in game development. The card system employed by Chain of Memories inspired the gameplay of Jupiter's next game "The World Ends With You". While many people clearly had fun with Chain of Memories for the GBA, PS2, and PS3, I want to know what you thought about the game. Did you have fun? What do you remember most about this unique entry in the Kingdom Hearts series?
