  1. During an interview with Dengeki PlayStation, Tetsuya Nomura, director of the Kingdom Hearts series has revealed that the cover artwork for Kingdom Hearts HD 1.5 ReMIX, 2.5 ReMIX, & HD 2.8 Final Chapter Prologue all connect together as a hidden message for Kingdom Hearts III. Tetsuya Nomura says that the 3 pieces of artwork start with Sora sitting, then standing, and finally walking. There is also a flow of time with the 3 pieces of artwork, where 1.5 is sunset becoming night, 2.5 is in the middle of the night, & 2.8 is night breaking into dawn. All of this connects to a hidden message for Kingdom Hearts III. You can read Nomura's answer below, thanks to Catherine Mueller (nichiei.translations@gmail.com) for the translations. While it is uncertain what this message is, this is something for fans to think about as we wait for the release of Kingdom Hearts III. What do you think this hidden message could be? Let us know in the comments below! Click here to view the article
  2. It seems like this is becoming normal for us now, . Thanks to our fabulous news translator, Catherine Mueller, we were the only ones to provide translations to a very 'sudden' Nomura interview with Dengeki PlayStation. With that said, our article on the 1.5/2.5/2.8 cover artwork message toward KH3 got looks from IGN, and they gave us a shout for the translations. Wonder when we'll get a wiki page of our own. Haha.
  3. Yes, that's exactly what this thread is about because apparently, people read too fast and got confused by the first title. But let's move on from that onto the topic at hand: Let's watch this scene from KH1, specifically, the segment between 2:01 and 2:08. Here in this instance, after our protagonist Sora finally finds his friend Riku (who at this point is just sort of ambiguous as to whether he's good or not), part of the very reason he decided to team up with Donald and Goofy in the first place, and when he asks Donald to invite him along, he straight up tells him no and shows no care whatsoever for Sora's wishes. Now yes, Donald did in fact lie when he told Sora that he and Goofy would help look for Riku and Kairi, but up until now, Sora didn't know that and was under the impression that they were "all for one and one for all", but for some idiot reason, Captain Featherbrains over here decides to drop all pretenses and basically tell Sora "I don't care about what you or your friend want, it's what I, Goofy, and my King want that matters. My way or the high way, twerp". Again, "all for one and one for all"? Bull-freaking-shit. And in all seriousness, I would expect Riku to actually be easily influenced by Maleficent to turn on Sora after this because not only does Riku feel jealousy that Sora has found replacements for him and Kairi, but he's got a good reason to think that his replacements also treat Sora and his ambitions like shit only for him to still go along with them for their own personal gain. I mean, Riku was literally in perfect earshot of what Donald said (unless he had already left by that point, but I'd like to imagine he didn't). Look, I'm not trying to take the piss out of the SDG dynamic, I do believe that they become good friends later on, especially with Donald's and Goofy's segments during the first trip to Hollow Bastion. I just find this scene to be really off-putting towards the whole "SDG are becoming good friends as they travel together" thing considering at this point the game, the player would have sealed Deep Jungle and already had gone through the mini "Sora and Donald can't get along" arc that it contained just to see Donald cross another line and revert back to the same idealogy that started that conflict in the first place, except this time it was never resolved and Donald got away with being a dick to Sora in this instance without being reprimanded. In fact, It would have made much more sense if Deep Jungle was available after this sequence because then at least there's plausible grounds to address the Sora-Donald conflict with a little more meat layered on top of it. Instead of just arguing about where to land, it could have been Sora getting rightfully pissed at Donald for once again putting his own desires over his own, Donald having to learn that they can all work together to find who they're looking for, and it'd make their entire dynamic even stronger as a result. Again, it's not that big a deal, but it still bugs the shit out of me. I just figured I'd share this to see if I have a point or I'm overthinking this more than I should.
  4. I'm one of THOSE people. Yeah, you know, the one that everyone hates and calls a pointless pessimist and hates your negativity, and your criticism, etc etc etc I just can't be optimistic for KH3. Am I excited for it? I suppose, but will I think it will be an incredible, mindblowing, "best KH game" yet? Absolutely not. I have my reasons for being pessimistic. Firstly is because I've always been sort of a pessimist; for example, I would expect an F on a test and get a C back and feel not as bad; opposedly, those who expect an A and get a C back feel awful. Secondly is because of the usual "Osaka Team" ramble, which I'm sure most people are aware by now. Even after seeing 0.2 gameplay, closer analyzing lead me to realize some very bad signs in the gameplay, which, if it carries over to KH3, can potentially...suck. Thirdly is because I think DDD ruined the story beyond repair, and not even KH3 will be able to fix it. Time Travel...what were you thinking Nomura? I hate when people go like "Oh wow, KH3 is going to be perfect just because it's KH3" because you don't know that. Using the fact that "it's KH3" to justify the game is good is ridiculous. This is also the crap that leads to massive, complete disappointment if the game comes out and it's glitchy, unbalanced, and sucks. Now can I justify that it will suck? No, I can't. However, I think it won't be as good as people say it will be. I also think it won't live up to its hype. Then, I get told, "if you aren't 'excited' for KH3, you're not a true KH fan." So why should I even bother being a fan then, if that requirement is needed to be a "true fan"? To absolutely love every game Square makes even if it is plagued with issues and glitchiness? I'm not optimistic about the game because of the signs Osaka Team has shown. I'm not going to be optimistic. So stop trying to make me an optimist, because I'm not. That doesn't mean I hate KH at all; it just means I want to see my favorite game series do better than it recently has. I fell in love with KH1 and KH2, but it's pretty much been downhill from there. So hopefully, you can see where my pessimism comes from. I get told after the 0.2 gameplay released, "Look at that! There's no way KH3 will suck now, the gameplay is incredible!" Once again, a completely blatant and ridiculous claim. A few minutes of 0.2 gameplay will show you nothing about the insight of KH3. It will not "prove" the game is good. People who say 0.2 gameplay is amazing is looking at the surface again. It's literally BBS all over again. People loved BBS at first, but recently, it's been getting a bit more attention to the issues it had. Why did people love BBS so much at first? Because it was flashy and fun to play around with the combat. It looked cool. It's the same thing with 0.2. The graphics are pretty incredible in comparison to the previous KH games. The spells and attacks all look super awesome, and even physical combos seem a bit better than the ones in BBS and DDD. That doesn't prove anything though. You might get a super overpowered attack that completely negates everything else you have in the game. There might be glitchiness, freezes, crashes. There might be horrible boss AI that is designed after horrible in-game mechanics. You don't know any of this yet, so assuming 0.2 proves KH3 will be incredible is such a ludicrous claim that I can't possible comprehend how these people are reasoning this behind their heads. So what if KH3 comes out inevitably, and it's an actual good game? People will probably yell at my face, tell me that "you were wrong and a dumbass for having low expectations." They can say what they want. I'll be stoked obviously; I still want KH3 to do well. That being said, if it does turn out to be a bad game, none of us are benefiting from this. However, I'll have this extra cushion that I've prepared in my mind, that tells me, you knew this was gonna happen. You shouldn't ever expect so much. KH3 is overhyped. People are in love with it even though we've seen little to nothing of it. I don't see much glimmer of hope. I have no reason to be optimistic. Insult me, call me names, exclude me, hate me; do whatever you want. However, you will never change my opinion on this subject, so stop trying.

  6. In the words of DJ Khaled: "Another one". Continuing with my marathon, today I'll be sharing my opinions about Days, the 1st DS game in the series. I encourage anyone that visits this to share their experiences with this game. This comes from my 1st playthrough in Proud mode. Story: I'll be honest: I spoiled the ending on myself, so I didn't have as much of a reaction to some of the events as others had. However, I liked the plot for being different from the other games and not sharing their formula of "go through the worlds in an adventure, defeat the heartless and the villain and find your missing friends". This was more about the life of a member of Organization XIII, conducting missions trying to get his heart back and overall finding his place on the world. I especially liked seeing the friendship of Roxas, Axel and Xion develop throughout the game, which made their fallout even more sad. It was interesting seeing Riku after ReCOM and how he went about doing things, but it only made me wish there was another mode or game where you play through Days from the perspective of Riku, Mickey, Naminè and DiZ. The game made me care about Roxas and gave a new opinion on Organization XIII, however the plot doesn't add much to the overall story of the series. The pacing isn't that good, the story not really picking up until Day 150 or later and the 1st half being a lot of filler. While I liked the story, it's purpose was to show Roxas' existence when he was with the Organization and fill the gaps from KH2 that COM didn't explain. That's it. Gameplay: The gameplay is decent. While not as great as KH1, it is close enough. After playing ReCOM, this game was refreshing, since I was able to just do anything I wanted without worrying about card breaks or numbers. It felt good to use attacks and spells in succesion and just do stuff similar to KH1. Of course, it is more limited, since the game is split into missions with restricted areas and magic having a limited number of uses as opposed to an MP bar, but it's not so bad later on. I found the panel system to be the AP of KH1, now used on everything instead of just abilities. I didn't customize much and simply made my deck as I went along, but after getting decent panels and releasing slots, it felt good to just breeze through everything with a powered up Roxas. The level up system could've been natural instead of using panels, but aside from that I was okay with the panel system. I didn't like how in most missions, some areas were restricted and unable to be reached, which killed the exploration aspect of the game. I wouldn't mind the mission aspect of the game if it weren't for that problem. Aside from that and the sometimes slow combat, I liked the gameplay of Days a lot. Graphics: while Days doesn't look as good as the other games, it's graphics are great for the DS. The character models look good, even if pixelated and more polygon-y and all the worlds were accurate recreations of the ones from KH1 and 2. The text scenes were bland, due to no voices, but the cutscenes that played at certain points looked as good as KH1. Sound: Most of the soundtrack is recycled from other games, but the few new tracks are as great as usual. I especially loved the new Neverland theme and Mystic Moon, while other tracks I found to be from good to meh. Overall, while it isn't as good as the other games, Days was a good experience from start to finish, and I think is as good/better as COM in certain departments while worse in others. I enjoyed it a lot. I'll also give a pseudo-review on the 1.5 cutscenes, since I watched them as I played the game. The remade scenes are beautiful and make the development of Roxas, Axel and Xion's feel more real while giving the plot more life. The voice acting is, again, great and just made them better. However, I didn't like how they remade some scenes and not all of them, probably to not make it as filler as the game, and the fact that there were no battle scenes killed it for me. The biggest crime, for me, is that it shows evidence of the planned-but-scrapped HD remake of Days, with some of the models used in the still images, which I would've loved to see. It was an okay collection of cutscenes. Now,I shall go onward with my marathon, to the true sequel...
  7. Heya. Continuing with my little marathon of the Kingdom Hearts series, I'm going to share my thoughts after completing my 1st playthrough of the game (Both Sora and Riku's stories) and some of the things I either enjoyed or disliked. Again, sorry if I sound pretentious/don't properly express my feelings and I encourage whoever decides to look at this thread to share their opinons on the game. Let's start: -Story: This, for me, is the highlight of Re:COM. I think the story was great and did a nice job of showing the characters, their personalities and struggles, had interesting premises that were used well in each story and served as a nice bridge that explains some of the things that happened in KH2. I especially liked some of the members of the Organization and Sora's character the most. Pacing could've been better since most of the early worlds only serve as interactions between Sora,Donald and Goofy (Or in Riku's case, nothing at all) and most of the exposition comes at the end, but other than that, I loved the overall story of the game. Riku was the more interesting/significant of the two, in my opinion, but Sora's had more to it. -Gameplay: The gameplay is a bit iffy. One one hand, I kinda thought the exploration was good in a different way. While the segmentation was annoying, I found the room concept cool, with the different cards making different rooms and having those rooms being recreations of the worlds and allowing for some customization. However sometimes the requirements for the cards would be hard to get, which would force me into grinding heartless just to get that one card because of the RNG. Then there's the whole "going to another floor erases all the rooms you created in this floor" thing, which I found stupid, but aside from that, I liked the exploration. Combat, on the other hand, was bad. Everything being done with cards only limited the amount of things I could do and made battles infuriating, dragged out and slow, something that went against what I loved from the 1st game. Reloading is even crappier and renders you useless for a couple of seconds, though this is not the case in Riku's story. I found Riku's combat, while not as open, more fun than Sora's. Structurally, this is KH1 with some alterations and the addition of another playable character. Finally, I liked how Sora and Riku had similar moves at their disposal but played completely different to one another. -Graphics: The graphics look the same as KH1, so they still look good. However, I loved how in the C.O cutscenes, the characters were more animated and just felt alive, especially in the expanded use of detailed faces over "default" faces. That also means I disliked how all of the "worlds" in the game were just bland cutscenes with stiff models, text and no voice-overs. Overalll, they are a mild improvement over KH1. -Sound: I freaking LOVED the soundtrack of this game. The remastered versions of old tracks sound just as good, sometimes better than their original versions and the new tracks are fitting for the parts they play in. They sound epic while giving this sense of "creepy, mysterious castle" which goes well with the setting of the game. Voice acting is still great, though the change in voices of some characters is glaring at first, but I quickly got used to them. Overall, I loved the presentation of Re:COM and found it as an improvement over KH1, but found the gameplay to not be that good. Again, it does a nice job of continuing the plot of the 1st game and serves as a decent midquel/bridge to KH2. My marathon continues with the life of Roxas...
  8. I never particularly understood people's reasoning for this. What is it about the card battle system in CoM that people hate so much? I absolutely adore it; it's a pleasant change of pace from the button mash-y action that was KH1. It required legitimate strategy and thinking; you can't mash X to win, because every attack you do has a cost to it that you must consider the repercussions to. Do people just not like it because it's not a button masher? And if that's the reason, does that mean these people dislike all games that aren't button mashers and require thinking?I really don't understand. People love games like Dark Souls, which forces you to fight cautiously and conservatively, which can almost be kind of compared to Chain of Memories' battle system. Yet the majority of the KH community that I've seen absolutely despises this game, and with no particular reason either. Can someone please tell me why? I really do want to know, because from what I can tell so far, it's just blind hate because the game is "different", and personally, I don't consider that as a valid reason at all.
  9. https://youtu.be/QThpgac9rHY The long-awaited FINALE of my Kingdom Hearts: Final Mix Playthrough! This was the most fun Let's Play I've done so far and I cant wait for the many more to come! I'd really appreciate it if you guys would show some support on the video and let me know how you enjoyed the episode
  10. I feel like you all have your priorities wrong. If you try and defend the HD ReMixes and their issues, you are wrong. It is not an opinion of whether the game is good or bad. It is a fact that these problems exist, and that they show what happens if you rush Square and/or they get lazy. Don't do that to KH3. When people say "I disagree because I have never encountered any of these (glitches) (freezes) (crashes) that you mentioned," do you realize how poor of an argument that is? "Wow, I've never seen this happen before so it must NEVER happen right?" It's really when you say that to yourself is when you see how absurd and ridiculous your own words mean. I don't care if you've never seen a crash in 2.5 before, but that doesn't mean it doesn't exist. It's not a disc problem; it exists on every disc. Go Limit Form in the Xemnas 1 fight at the beginning and then revert after he puts the orb draining move on you. 9 times out of 10, your game will crash, which is absolutely unacceptable because that is an IN-GAME MECHANIC that should never result in something like a game crash. Summon Bambi in Monstro chambers and walk around in 1.5; the game will crash. Idle too long in a start menu; the game will crash. Random and consistent pause lags at the beginning of fights in 2.5; unbearably long loadtimes, most apparent in 2.5 (1.5 also has long load times but is often looked over due to the newly added cutscene skips). These are all real issues that exist. It doesn't matter if you've run into them 10 times or none, it doesn't matter if it doesn't affect you the slightest; the fact that they exist and CAN affect a player's experience is proof that it's an issue from Square's horrible porting and laziness. Please don't defend Square for making these errors. The Final Xemnas fight in 2.5 is not one time thing or a disc thing. It basically tells me that Square did not bother testing that fight (or even the entire game) at all, because if they did, there is no way they would miss something as obvious as that. It literally makes the fight on higher difficulties impossible without the use of spamming Limits for invincibility. You won't get anything from defending Square on these issues. So for a moment, just put down your fanboy/girl-ism and stop pretending Square has been doing a great job so far, because if you do, they'll do the same "great job" for KH3 and make it terrible and filled with bugs and glitches. Constructive criticism is never a bad thing; just because the game is part of your favorite series does not mean it is perfect. KH2FM (PS2) is my favorite game of all time in my favorite series of all time. Does that mean it's perfect? Not at all; it's filled with issues actually. So don't be so stubborn with the other games. Be accepting of the mistakes and problems it has, and work to have Square fix them. I just wanted to get that little bit out there. Thanks for reading
  11. Heya. I've been having a bit of trouble with this game and it's battle system. Are there any ways to level up faster early on? I'm in the 4th floor.
  12. As in least favorite to favorite KH games. I wouldn't count the HD Remasters as separate games, even though they do have a few more bugs in comparison to the original, they're basically the same thing. For me personally, it would go something like this: 1. Dream Drop Distance - stupidly complex story, repetitive gameplay, bad balancing, bad AI, disappointing set up to KH3 2. 358/2 Days - had high expectations but story turned out to be repetitive day-by-day event of 3 characters instead of entire Org XIII. Also gameplay was clunky. 3. BBS - similar to DDD but slightly better, and story was acceptable. It still has its gameplay issues like DDD though. 4. Re:Coded - only KH game imo to have made the Command Deck system correctly, but story was boring and insignificant. Also the autoscroller stages were boring. 5. CoM/ReCoM - I liked the card system, story was well done, but the room system got repetitive after a few floors. Love the addition of Reverse Rebirth though. 6. KH1 - the purest KH game, simple and raw gameplay, excellent story+incorporation of Disney. 7. KH2 - the best gameplay in the series, decent story, super fun and replayable I don't have unchained X in there because it's a mobile game, and I played it for about a month before I got the entire gimmick down and stopped playing. I don't know, something about it just doesn't make it seem like an actual Kingdom Hearts game and I just sorta drifted away from it. Also curious cuz my opinion is kind of unpopular. I guarantee some people are ready to flame me right now for putting BBS below ReCoded, but I have my reasons. It'd be cool to see all of your opinions though
  13. So, I have just completed KH1 again and this time playing I realised something. BBS and DDD get often criticized for their lack of enemy staggering. And that's true, it's a great flaw of these 2 games. But KH1 is no different sometimes, especially with some bossfights. I noticed this with 2 of them in particular: Sephiroth and Xemnas (or Unknown, whatever). They kept getting out of my combos before my finisher for no apparent reason, even without combo plus, and so I kept getting hit. It seems that only KH2 got this right. Let's hope that revenge value comes back in KH3
  14. Heya. I JUST finished my 1st playthrough of KH1 and I'm kinda stuck on the end screen. How do I get out?
  15. Heya! So, I recently finished my very first playthrough of Kingdom Hearts. To celebrate, I decided to share my opinions regarding various aspects of the game and what I felt during my playthrough. I'll be talking about vanilla 1 and not Final Mix, which I'll do at another time. I played it on normal mode, so my opinions are gonna be derived there. If this is a review or not depends on you. Finally, sorry if I come off as a little pretentious in some of my comments. Anyways, let's get started: -Story: I think the story for this game was pretty good. It does a fine job establishing the universe and the characters, and gave some new feelings towards them that I didn't have before I played this game. All the Disney characters are very faithful to their movies, not to mention they added onto the overall plot of the game. It also kept me interested in going forward and completing the trio's main objective. However, there was one thing I disliked about it: the pacing. While the worlds visited served as introductions to the other Disney characters and helped further the character development and dynamic between Sora, Donald and Goofy, they didn't progress the plot by much. It wasn't until Hollow Bastion where all the juicy details are revealed, and I thought it was a bad move. Aside from that, I thought it was good. -Gameplay: I loved the gameplay. The exploration aspect was good, since there were a ton of areas with many platforms, exits and goodies to find, plus you had to think a bit more to get to the next destination, though it wasn't very clear on where to go (Or I'm just sucky at non-linear games). The combat is where the game really shows a fusion of action and traditional RPG games. I can move around and do a 3-hit combo on my enemies, dodge, block and move around without taking turns like an action game, but I can also use many types of magic, have party members aid me, do special attacks and gain experience after beating Heartless, like an RPG. Everything works and is fast-paced, plus the magic system was very balanced. None of the spells were better than another, but some worked better against certain enemies and situations while others did not. The ability system complimented both exploration and gameplay, and made returning to previous worlds to discover new paths or ways to defeat old enemies something worthwhile. Everything just meshed together so well. The gummi ship segments were a nice little minigame to travel from world to world, but it didn't hook me. It was nice being able to make your own gummi, though it was shortlived. It was very annoying travelling worlds through "the lines", but that was remedied with the warp feature. -Graphics: While it is on a PS2, the graphics of this game were pretty good. All of the worlds had distinct looks and styles and were great recreations of the settings of the movies they came from. The character models also looked good, with the original characters looking very Square Enix-esque and the FF and Disney characters were wonderfully recrreated in this style. -Sound: TBH, I wasn't a big fan of the soundtrack before I played this game. It didn't hook me as much as the other pieces in the series. After playing, though. I like it! The compositions are original, cheery and set the mood of gameplay and story really well. They give more personality and life to the worlds and represent the spirit of Disney movies and Square Enix. Voice acting was great, in my opinion. All of the voices felt natural and did great performances, especially Haley Joel Osment. It's also nice that they got many of the actors and actresses of the Disney movies to record for this game, which adds into the authenticity. Overall, I think the sound of this game is great. Overall, I liked Kingdom Hearts. It was what I expected plus more, and is a game that I could see myself replaying a dozen more times. After playing it, I can now call myself a KH fan and cannot wait to continue this series. And so my marathon continues. This time I'll take a break and look at the life of another boy that is different, but similar, then sometime after that, journey through Sora's memories, before continuing with the other boy...
  16. I've seen many people complain that Donald almost never heals them when he needs to. However, the exact opposite happens to me whenever I play. When the health bar starts to get really low I'm about to heal myself but Donald does it one millisecond ahead of me and I'm too late to notice while I heal myself also. Now I've wasted a whole bar of magic and my health meter quickly goes down again but neither me nor Donald can heal because we just used up all our magic.
  17. So... Since we now know that there will be multiple worlds in 0.2 in the realm of darkness... Is it possible that the worlds of summons from KH1 are going to be these worlds? I think so. As we know, castle of dreams is in 0.2, Cinderella wasn't a summon, but what does the fairy godmother mention in merlins house in KH1? She mentions that she knows Cinderella is still alive, of course we don't know how she knows this. What we know about summons in KH1 is that they're the strong spirits of people that survive when their worlds are thrown into darkness... I think this all points to those worlds coming into 0.2 What do you think?
  18. So I watched a pretty old video by joshscorcher on "Top 10 Worst KH Bosses" and it was a pretty bad list imo; his explanations were subpar and felt more like complaints and salt from being unable to beat a boss (quote from the video "I HATE how [Demyx] keeps pelting me with attacks that I CAN'T COUNTER!"), and it really that informative. However it did get me thinking; KH has a bunch of awesome bosses (I'm looking at you, Mr. Zebra Xemnas), but it also had its fair share of bad bosses (as to be expected from every game series). So yah, here's my list (from least worst to worst worst). 1. Data Xigbar (KH2) - Honestly just a not very well designed fight in general. His bullets are so fast that it is pretty much impossible to react to them, unless you 100% understand his every pattern. Even then, you'll most likely have to spam Reflect to survive. It has redeeming qualities though; it's still a doable fight, and it's nowhere near as unfair as some of the later bosses you'll see on this list. 2. Ursula 2 (KH1) - There is lightning everywhere, and they strike down insanely rapidly. You can at most get off two hits of your combo before having to move to avoid the lightning. Her other attacks are avoidable, but the main downfall of this fight was the lightning. Using a finisher would only result in finisher lag, where you cannot move in that instant and forces you to get hit by the lightning. It's honestly just a horribly designed fight overall. 3. Chernabog (DDD) - Underwhelming and kind of pathetic. I remember in KH1 when we fought Chernabog; it was difficult fight, but hell yeah it was intense and epic. This...does a lot less. Awesome, convert an awesome intense fight to a drop mission. 4. Ruler of the Sky (Days) - Once again, this was just another boring fight; debatably the most boring in the entire game. This fight can take an absurd amount of time, and once over, you really don't feel any feelings of accomplishment. It's not even a hard fight; just tedious since the majority of the fight is just you chasing after him. 5. Phantom (KH1) - This fight, like Ruler of the Sky, is boring and tedious. What's with flying bosses having bad design? You can only use a specific attack on Phantom at a certain time: Fire, Blizzard, Thunder, and Attack. Phantom has a bunch of health, and the fight overall just takes a long time. You'll once again be flying around for the most part and Curing when you get hit. Also, you have to cast Stop periodically on the Clock Tower to prevent him from casting Doom on your party members, which will remove them from the battle forever. Boring, long, and tedious. But at least we aren't at the frustrating ones yet. 6. Young Xehanort (DDD) - Speaking of frustrating bosses, here's one for you. Imagine all the issues with DDD, regarding boss stun, difficulty spikes, unfair AI; roll them all together, and you get this. YX is relentless, and barely has openings. Even when you do attack him, you'll just end up getting obliterated by him randomly retaliating out of your combo. Welp, time to stick to spamming Balloon to win again. I don't even have a grudge against his time reverse thing at the end; in fact, I thought that was pretty cool. However, the fact that the fight empahsizes on the problems in DDD really just makes me hate it. 7. Armor of the Master (BBS) - Can't be stunned, once again. It's a long and boring fight. Sure, his attacks are flashy, but when you realized that all of them can be dodged by mashing Square as Aqua and Ven, the fight really doesn't do much else. Once again, use Surges! Because that's how you beat every single optional boss in BBS. 8. No Heart (BBS) - You cannot stun him. His attacks are brutal. The only way to win is to Dodge like hell, use Surges, get hit, run away, Cure, repeat. The fight also took FOREVER on the PSP version; luckily, Square nerfed him on the PS3 version. But that still doesn't make it any better. 9. All Vanitas Fights (BBS) - Vanitas is the epitome of bad boss design. He, like many others in BBS and DDD, cannot get stunned (and if he does, he teleports out before you can hit him again). He is the most inconsistent boss in the series; he does whatever he wants, whenever he wants, quite literally breaking the game's rules. Finally stunned him with a possible opening? Nope, teleport. Finally got two hits on him and is about to use a finisher? Nope, break out in the middle of your combo and teleport behind you, hitting you. The fight isn't hard once you get used to it; just don't use finishers. That's right, the way to win that fight is literally to attack once, roll away, and slowly chip away at his health forever and ever. A boss that is frustrating and tedious is one thing; however, a boss that breaks its own set of rules that the game has set up is a completely new level of bad design. What were you thinking Square? 10. Mysterious Figure (BBS) - As Aqua and Ven, this fight is almost pathetic once you know how to beat him. Mash Square until your thumb breaks, and Surges in his openings. As Terra, you hope and pray to the KH RNG Gods that they don't let you die. The issue with this fight rests in the intention. Square quite literally programmed the fight to act after the most broken mechanics in the entire series that is found in BBS. You spam Aqua and Ven's invincible dodges to win, you spam the OP command Thunder Surge, and everything else, including Terra and his crappy slide, is completely, utterly, useless. What a great fight. Vanitas broke its own rules, but Mysterious Figure literally breaks its own rules in order to force the player to also break the game's "intended rules" to win. Unbelievable; I can't believe people actually designed this garbage. And yeah, I got pretty brutal with the last few ones there, but my point still stands; they were bad fights. Anyways, I'd like to see all of your opinion so yay discussion!

  21. Heya. As you know, I'm currently playing KH1. I just sealed the Keyhole for Wonderland and I'm trying to take the other route and go to Olympus Coliseum. Thing is, I can't get to the Gummi ship minigame. I tried selecting Depart, but it doesn't let me, I can only go to Deep Jungle. Any idea on how to solve this?
