Following the news that Kingdom Hearts HD 2.8 Final Chapter Prologue will release for the PlayStation 4, many people had questions for Kingdom Hearts series director Tetsuya Nomura. Luckily, Famitsu Weekly had the opportunity to ask some of the questions that fans have been dying to ask. Tetsuya Nomura answers questions concerning what exactly is new in Kingdom Hearts Dream Drop Distance HD, whether or not there will be a Kingdom Hearts 2.9, and what we can expect to see in the Big Hero 6 world in Kingdom Hearts III. As some of you may know I made a thread when 2.8 was first announced regarding the possibility of finally getting the backstory in detail of the fall of the apprentices and how Isa and Lea fell . Since this backstory is in direct parallel to the events in 0.2 it made sense to suggest these cutscenes might be shown there. Now that we know the length of this is gonna be equivalent to one world this seems less likely even though it's still possible. We don't know if this one world length is referring to gameplay only or gameplay plus cutscenes. However, regardless this is disappointing. Pondering this, another thought occurred to me. It's also been confirmed there is a possibility of new added extra content to DDDHD in 2.8. If this happens there could also be the possibility of added cutscenes similar to previous final mix versions since if there is gonna be a "final mix" version of DDD it only makes sense to add it to 2.8 whether they actually call it a final mix version or not. If this happens, it is also possible to show these org members backstory flashbacks here. It's also possible we will have to wait until KH3 for this. It's also possible that this part of the story will never be shown and that's my biggest fear. It's one of the most asked questions fans still have. We deserve to know dammit! In an interview with Famitsu Weekly magazine, Tetsuya Nomura, the director of the Kingdom Hearts series, has confirmed the reason behind Kingdom Hearts HD 2.8 Final Chapter Prologue is that Kingdom Hearts III is even further away than fans would hope. He also confirmed that the title is being made simultaneously with Kingdom Hearts III. This suggests that the development of Kingdom Hearts III, which has been in development since 2010, may be affected in some capacity. Nomura also confirmed Kingdom Hearts 0.2 Birth by Sleep – A Fragmentary Passage – will use Kingdom Hearts III's technology and will only last the duration of one Disney world. It is set straight after the secret movie in Kingdom Hearts Birth by Sleep Final Mix. They plan on using using gameplay elements from Kingdom Hearts III. The cinematic title in Kingdom Hearts HD 2.8 Final Chapter Prologue, Kingdom Hearts χ Back Cover will also show off Kingdom Hearts III's technology according to Gematsu. When asked for a time frame regarding the release of Kingdom Hearts HD 2.8, Nomura said they cannot announce a certain time frame due to it being developed with Kingdom Hearts III. -
So with all the hype going on for Kingdom Hearts HD 2.8 -Final Chapter Prologue- going on, I decided to make a mock up version of what the menu or title screen may look like for the game. I previously uploaded an image to the gallery here and now its finished and ready for viewing. Magic and item shortcuts are put to L1, and R1 is used for targeting. I was wondering if the other bumpers could be used for something now that we use the right analog stick for the camera instead of L2 and R2. Maybe use the back bumpers for shortcuts to other skills. Does anyone have any ideas on this? I'm not really sure it just seems we didn't really use those buttons in KH2, except for some mini games. -

I really like Donald, and Goofy, but they do sometimes ruin serious moments in the game. I'd like in a future game to have Sora travel with kairI, and Riku, and have all them be playable. I don't want it like birth by sleep, but more so where we can switch between who we are controlling more like a final fantasy game, and of course they would have different fighting styles and roles. kairi of course would take the role of the mage since that's the same role Aqua had. I'm not saying for all games in the future or in KH4, but just a future game, but I would rather it be on an actual console rather than the handhelds. I know in KH3 we will still be traveling with Donald, and Goofy, but my thought is after the Xehanort Saga is finished that they would return to the castle with King Mickey, and maybe even have a trio with mickey, donald, and goofy.

With the announcement of 2.8 containing the new Kingdom Hearts Birth by Sleep 0.2 A fragmentary passage, a continuation of the Birth by Sleep story, do you think this will give us a taste of how Kingdom Hearts 3 will look and feel. If you watch the trailer during the part of 0.2 it only shows Aquas back and from the looks of it it seems to be in the same style that Kingdom Hearts 3 is. Now we still don't know if this is going to be a movie like it is for Back Cover or if it will be playable, either way it seems that this will be our KH3 demo until we officially get one. What do you think, will a fragmentary passage be playable or only a movie? Edit: it is confirmed to be playable, I didn't see that part I guess, my bad

The Disney Event Live page for the upcoming Kingdom Hearts Premium Theater has updated with a new Kingdom Hearts III promotional image, as well as more information surrounding the event which will take place prior to D23 Expo Japan 2015 on November 3, 2015. New Kingdom Hearts III information is confirmed to appear at this event. You can view the promotional images below. The updates speak of a talk show with special guests, promising that the show will be a special experience for fans of the Kingdom Hearts series. Below is a translation of the new additions provided by KH13 News Team member soraspromise: Below the event summary and details, there is also information about a new Sora Play Arts Kai figure.This figure features Sora in his Kingdom Hearts II Final Form Drive outfit and comes with both the Oathkeeper and Oblivion Keyblades, as well as a wide variety of exchangeable hands in different positions. The figure will be sold for 9,800 yen exclusively at the event, with only 999 available. Update: Yoko Shimomura, composer of the Kingdom Hearts series will be attending the Kingdom Hearts D23 Fan Event along with Hiroyuki Nakayama, who is known to have worked on the Kingdom Hearts series before as a performer and arranger for such titles as Kingdom Hearts Birth by Sleep and Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days. Why are people repeating the same Kingdom Hearts topics?

This is especially prevalent in the "Kingdom Hearts III" section. I understand that some users may be new and others may have been unaware of a topic being made, however, I've been seeing more repeated topics like "what Final Fantasy character do you want in KH3" or a post about "Treasure Planet needs to be in Kingdom Hearts 3" or "What do you think should happen in Kingdom Hearts 3". I just think that re-reading the same ground is boring and devalues a topic as quite a lot of people would have to paraphrase their opinions again. I'm not trying to start an argument or flame-war here, it's just an unfortunate fact that I've been seeing more and more commonly. -
Recently, as I'm sure you are aware, I made a thread in which you posted your biggest fear for KH3 (thread:http://kh13.com/forum/topic/90506-what-is-your-biggest-fear-for-kingdom-hearts-iii/). In this thread however, it would be interesting to see people's biggest HOPE for Kingdom Hearts III. Personally, loving the story as much as I do, I sincerely hope so much that they don't mess it up and that they manage to top the ending of Kingdom Hearts II. What about you? What is your biggest HOPE for Kingdom Hearts III? -

i haven't seem any forum post like this yet so like the title says i'm actually very curious to see what final fantasy characters people want to appear in the game since this is of course a disney/square enix crossover game. i do have a few characters i would like to see such as: leon and the gang, i'm pretty positive these guys will return but it would be great to see them since they started sora off in his journey and they could help him finish it gilgamesh, this guy would be perfect for an optional boss battle in my opinion. his goofy personality would be hilarious to watch as he comments how strange the environment is around him and it would be shocking if he suddenly pulled out keyblades before you battled him zidane, i didn't think about him appearing until i saw that the tangled world was confirmed and i thought "hey you know zidane would be perfect for this" and i've started wanting him to appear plus i would like to see conversations between him eugene since they're both fellow thieves cloud and sephiroth, since nomura is making this game i am half expecting cloud and sephiroth to make a cameo of some sort. i'm not sure how they would appear but i'm pretty sure nomura will find some way to put them in it so who do you guys want to appear in the game?- 31 replies

I was just wondering if anyone else was interested in world specific enemies, and by that I don't mean heartless that are themed around that world, but something specific to it. In Pirates of the caribbean we have the pirates, and in sleeping beauty Maleficent has her minions that were in the movie. In land of dragons it was a disappointment because we didn't face the Hun army but just a group of heartless, and I'm wanting some enemies that go along with their movies or the theme at least. Bandits, thugs, and other simple enemy character types.

While I'm a big fan of the Kingdom Hearts series, one thing that bothers me (not TOO MUCH) is how the Kingdom Hearts characters look different to the Disney Characters. I mean just look how Aqua looks compared to the characters in Castle Of Dreams. http://i.ytimg.com/vi/bEHuOCWB3rs/hqdefault.jpg With how Kingdom Hearts 3 looked like from the trailer shown in E3 and how the new Disney movies look (Tangled, Big Hero 6, Frozen, etc.). The differences may actually be fixed!
