  7. My main idea with Riku is that he went back to wearing his Kingdom Hearts II clothing after the battle against Xehanort but his hair change did happen. He still has his Kingdom Hearts III outfit, it’s only in storage. I first started this piece by drawing Riku with pencils and inks. Next, I worked out Kairi's pencils. Then I went with ink wash to Kairi's half of the space before inking her lineart. Finally, I mucked about with inkwash on both Riku and Kairi for shading and details. Some of Kairi's inked lines got messed up by the wash so I had to use white-out to hide the spots. The date shown was when I finished Riku and his line ink. I don't fully remember when I dealt with Kairi, though I think it was on the same day. This artwork, while it's meant to be for a fanfiction trilogy by a fanfiction author, can also be seen as independent Kingdom Hearts fanart. Thank you for coming onto this art page and viewing the contents. From, TrinityXaos# More details on my DeviantArt page.
  8. Hello! This deviation is a collection of sketches for Riku’s looks if he had his Kingdom Hearts III hairstyle but kept his Kingdom Hearts II clothing on. It follows up on the artwork on “Kingdom Hearts DD Riku and Kairi” where I first decided to try the combination concept. The full body piece has Riku in his whole outfit while holding out his Way to Dawn Keyblade in his right hand. I had to do some reference hunting for the hairstyle (concept art from the Ultimania thanks to KH13.com), the clothes (The Art of Kingdom Hearts: Kingdom Hearts HD 2.5 ReMIX) and the Keyblade (a merchandise article from KH13.com). The Keyblade unfortunately had an issue with its size (I didn’t have a screenshot references to help with this part), so what is shown looks more like a great-sword from the SoulsBorne franchise than a Keyblade. The second design, on the top right corner, is of Riku with a smile and glee. I don’t think I used many references with this drawing. Just had a help from the full size picture and the old drawing from the “Kingdom Hearts DD Riku and Kairi” piece. I may have also used a screenshot or two from Kingdom Hearts III on my PS4 capture to help with details. The middle right has Riku at a side view looking befuddled over something. The drawing mainly used reference from a screenshot of Riku when he was first in Radiant Garden (which I did a practice sketch of beforehand). There might be some parts that were messed up with the hair around the ear area, so sorry about that. The final drawing is of Riku is his battle stance and is angry at his foe. The main references I used for his facial features were from the side view drawing, the “Kingdom Hearts DD Riku and Kairi” art, and a screenshot of Riku thinking in the Mysterious Tower. For the parts that I did draw of Riku’s stance, I used a reference of the Union Cross medal, “KHII Riku” and promotional imagery of a Play Art figurine of KHII Riku in his battle stance that I found on Google images. I also had to look at two cutscenes from Kingdom Hearts III (The first being when he faced Anti-Aqua alone in the Dark Margin, and the other was when the guardians first encounter Dark Riku in the Keyblade Graveyard) to draw out Riku’s anger in his eyes and eyebrows. Sorry that this isn’t quite clean, especially in the bottom left corner. Aside from that, thanks for coming onto this artwork page and viewing the contents. 9. New information regarding the upcoming Kingdom Hearts III: Re:Mind DLC has been revealed at the Los Angeles performance of Kingdom Hearts Orchestra -World of Tres- today! In keeping with his appearances at the previous Kingdom Hearts orchestras in Los Angeles and this year's -World of Tres- performance in Tokyo, series director Tetsuya Nomura made a guest appearance at the end of the concert to announce this information and present a new teaser trailer for the DLC. After coming out onto the stage, Nomura was greeted with a standing ovation from the audience. He said that he arrived in Los Angeles on the same day of the concert, commenting "I haven't even unpacked, and I accidentally came wearing sandals", eliciting a hearty laugh from the audience. Nomura then mentioned that the paid DLC was revealed at the Tokyo performance, before stating "We have prepared something to show today, for the people who came here, so have a look." He remarked that the trailer shown at the orchestra is "exclusive" (despite the trailer subsequently being published on YouTube), and that video and photography were not permitted. Nomura also revealed that the Re:Mind DLC will be launched this winter and will include "more scenes that we will like." Credit to KH13 staff member Mio-chan for providing translations of Nomura's words! Shortly after the concert, the English version of the Re:Mind teaser was uploaded on the official Kingdom Hearts Youtube channel. You can watch it below. The Japanese version is as follows: In this trailer, we witness a meeting between Young Xehanort and a cloaked figure who seems to be Master of Masters, in the Keyblade Graveyard. The scene alludes to Young Xehanort being mentored by the him, who asks him how "the world tour" went. It seems he gave Xehanort the black coat to ward off the darkness, which is interesting seeing that in this scene, Young Xehanort's eyes are of the original grey colour instead of yellow, commonly a symbol of darkness. I But the most striking scene seems to be the one between Xigbar and Luxord, both characters with roots from Kingdom Hearts Union χ[Cross]. Luxord confronts Xigbar at in the world of Olympus, asking him who he is, but then leaves saying it doesn't matter anyway. Xigbar then wonders out loud, "The question is who are you, Luxord?" This makes an allusion to how the identity of Luxord may be central to the story of Kingdom Hearts. In terms of gameplay, the Re:Mind DLC will make the players able to play with Riku, Aqua, and Roxas in certain situations. The trailer features these playable characters during the battles in the Keyblade Gravevyard towards the end of the game. The Oathkeeper Keyblade and the Keyblade's formchange also makes an appearance. From the DLC's first reveal announcement in the Kingdom Hearts Orchestra -World of Tres- Tokyo show, we know that the ReMind DLC will be a paid DLC to include: An additional Scenario, "Re:Mind" Limit Cut Episode + Boss Secret Episode + Boss English VA option (only for Japan; no word on an equivalent option for non-JP copies) We also know that there will be a free DLC featuring a new Keyblade and a new formchange. Lastly, another interesting feature about the Re:Mind DLC is the coda symbol featured in its logo. In music, a coda ("⊕") is a passage that brings a piece (or a movement) to an end. According to an observation made by Project Destati, this could have additional symbolism in regards to the additional story content that the Re:Mind DLC could bring to Kingdom Hearts III. You can check out some screenshots from the Re:Mind teaser trailer below! We have also uploaded a photo album with some interesting pictures from the Kingdom Hearts Orchestra -World of Tres- concert at Los Angeles. Check it out below! 11. Something that I thought about after replaying KH3 was the inconsistency of the whole broken keyblade thing. When Riku and Mickey broke their keyblades, they were forged new ones. When Axel got his keyblade broken by Xemnas, he was no longer a guardian of light (in Xemnas' words) but was later shown using it in Scala ad Caelum. This also got me thinking about the keyblade graveyard. We've seen before that when a person wielding the keyblade gets defeated, the key just dematerializes, but the keyblade graveyard contains "lifeless keys." Maybe I'm missing something so can someone clarify?
  12. (KHIII Spoilers) The Keyblade Graveyard: such an unnerving world. This is a land of dead Keyblades, crazy black robed cults, and a very raged-induced suit of armor. Join our Guardians of Light as they encounter shocking to unimaginable moments they’d rather not come across again. (Parody)(Has some language)
  13. Also on DeviantArt and Pixiv. My contribution artwork for Kingdom Hearts III's worldwide release on January 29th.
  14. Morning everyone! I'm back with another Countdown to Kingdom Hearts 3 and we're getting closer to the worldwide release day! This countdown features our favorite dawn wielder and best bro Riku! It's amazing how Riku come along way since the first Kingdom Hearts game. The first time I met Riku I never really care too much about him. Even after revealing he was the true Keyblade owner and almost killing Sora I still didn't care about. But my opinions about Riku later change in Chain of Memories where he was struggling the darkness and Ansem in his heart. Plus, his character arc allows Mickey to have a bigger role than in Kingdom Hearts 1. Then I later grow to like Riku after he protected Sora from Xemnas in Kingdom Hearts 2 by taking a blow from his Ethereal Blade. To me that was his final step to fully redeem himself. Can't wait to see what he does in Kingdom Hearts 3 in four days!
  15. Eyyy, it's ya boi, Power Jusho! And, for the first time (and maybe last time?), it's time for a theory about Riku and what will happen to him in the end of KH3! Hope you guys enjoy and tell me your thoughts & opinions on it.
