  1. The only other channel that only repeats the same two shows every day and praises a talking sponge like its Jesus. At least Cartoon Network is trying to do stuff differently.
  2. The Max Headroom broadcast signal intrusion was a television signal hijacking that occurred in Chicago, Illinois, United States on the evening of November 22, 1987. It is an example of what is known in the television business as broadcast signal intrusion. The intruder was successful in interrupting two broadcast television stations within the course of three hours. Neither the hijacker nor any known accomplices have ever been found, caught or identified, which leaves the incident unsolved. During Chicago Bears highlights in the sports report of WGN-TV's The Nine O'Clock News, the screen went black for 15 seconds, then returned with a person wearing a Max Headroom mask, moving around in front of moving corrugated metal, imitating the appearances made by the real Max Headroom. There was no audio except for a droning buzz. After 20 seconds, the highjacking was cut short by WGN engineers switching the frequency to another transmitter. The sports anchor,Dan Roan, was bemused by the incident, saying, "Well,if you're wondering what's happened, so am I.",followed by failing to continue on with the sports news. Later the same night, around 11:15 p.m. Central Time, during a broadcast of the Doctor Who serial "Horror of Fang Rock", PBS member station WTTW (channel 11)'s signal was hijacked by the same person that was broadcast during the WGN-TV hijack, this time with distorted and crackling audio, the Max imposter began mentioning WGN pundit, Chuck Swirsky, saying he is better than him. The man started to moan, scream and laugh. He continued to laugh and utter various random and unrelated phrases, including New Coke's advertising slogan "Catch the Wave" while holding a Pepsi can (Max Headroom was a Coca-Cola spokesperson at the time), then tossing the can down, leaning towards the camera and giving the finger wearing a rubber extension over his middle finger, although it was hard to see the gesture. He then retrieved the Pepsi can, and sang "Your love is fading", before removing the rubber extension, then began humming the theme song to Clutch Cargo, pausing to say "I still see the X", which referred to the final episode of the series, before resuming humming again. He then began to moan painfully, exclaiming about his piles (a reference to Preparation H), to which an indistinguishable flatulence sound was heard. He then stated that he had "made a giant masterpiece for all the greatest world newspaper nerds" (the WGN call letters used by the Chicago television station as well as its sister radio station are an abbreviation for "World's Greatest Newspaper", in reference to the flagship newspaper of their corporate parent, the Tribune Company's Chicago Tribune). He then held up a glove and said, "My brother is wearing the other one," and he put the glove on, commenting that it was "dirty" and that "it's like you got foot prints on it!" He then threw the glove down in disgust. The picture suddenly cut over to a shot of the man's lower torso. His buttocks were partly exposed, and he was holding the now-removed mask up to the camera (with the rubber extension now placed in the mouth of the mask), howling, "They're coming to get me!" An unidentified accomplice wearing a French maid outfit said to him, "Bend over, b***h!" The accomplice then started to spank the man with a flyswatter as the man screamed loudly to "make it stop." The high jacking lasted for 90 seconds before blacking out and returning to the Doctor Who episode. WTTW, which maintained its transmitter atop the Sears Tower, found that its engineers were unable to stop the hijacker, due to the high microwave signals that the hijacker was using, as well as the fact that there were no engineers on duty at the Sears Tower at the time of the hijacking. According to station spokesman Anders Yocom, technicians monitoring the transmission "attempted to take corrective measures, but couldn't." "By the time our people began looking into what was going on, it was over," he told the Chicago Tribune. WTTW was able to find copies of the hijacker's telecast with the help of Doctor Who fans who had been taping the show. WTTW and WGN-TV joined HBO (which had a similar incident occur 19 months earlier) as victims of broadcast signal intrusion. The Max Headroom incident made national headlines and was reported on the CBS Evening News the next day. WTTW received numerous phone calls from viewers who wondered what was occurring for the duration of the station being targeted. Not long after the incident, WMAQ-TV humorously inserted clips of the hijacking into a newscast during Mark Giangreco's sports highlights. "A lot of people thought it was real – the pirate cutting into our broadcast. We got all kinds of calls about it," said Giangreco. To this day,it still remains as the most remembered television highjacking. And briefly,on September 9th, 2010, a clip of the second Max Headroom incident appeared during a highjacking of Cartoon Network. http://m.youtube.com/watch?v=sM7Q1WiepoQ
  3. I miss that show so much, and there really needs to be more stuff on CN besides reruns of Teen Titans Go.
  4. With the Undertaker's first ever lost at Westlemania last year, I'm worried that he'll lose again this year. I'm rooting for Undertaker.
  5. Made the titans dumb enough to think that Robin breaking Kid Flash's legs to win a foot race was Robin believing in himself.
  6. If you don't know what Kamen Rider is, check out the link here. So, the last Kamen Rider that go an English adaptation was Kamen Rider Ryuki, or Kamen Rider Dragon in West. It got decent viewing when it aired on the CW/CW4Kids. It even won a Daytime Emmy. I think it would be the perfect time for Kamen Rider to make a return. Saban is currently doing a great job with Power Rangers Dino Charge. I'd like to Saban try to make an adaptation of the Kamen Rider that was on last year: Kamen Rider Gaim (possible the most ridiculous, funny, and dark Kamen Rider that I've seen). What I hope that Saban do with the adaptation is not make the character look all grown up because my gripe with Dragon Knight is that all the Kamen Riders look like their in their 30s. I'd also like Saban to make crossover episodes with the current Power Rangers that's on just like in Super Sentai/Kamen Rider in Japan.

  8. Hey there everyone, how's it going? Well then, just recently, I started watching a certain show on Netflix that I remember having seen during my childhood, and oh boy, did I get a fix of nostalgia! Here's the show I'm talking about! Oh God, this brings back memories! Time Force was one of my favorite Power Rangers shows, and now I'm watching it on Netflix happily! Anyone remember the Time Force Rangers? Gahhh, so much nostalgia! :')
  9. Welcome to the Power Rangers Dino Charge thread, where we talk about the new season of Power Rangers airing in February 2015: Power Rangers Dino Charge!! For the first post for this topic is the announcement of the cast for the rangers! From left to right, we got James Davis, Yoshi Sudarso, Brennan Mejia, Camille Hyde, and Michael Taber. Thoughts about this cast?
  10. Hey So I was just wondering who else watches it. You know, discuss the latest episodes and stuff like favorite things about it (although its already pure genius). Did anyone see todays episode?
  11. Dont attend your own funeral as a guy named Phill Shiphly http://youtu.be/dcO2yIUBlLo these commercials are unbelievably stupid. and thats what makes them funny.
  12. So recently, Law & Order: SVU did an episode about gamers and, I think, GamerGate. Personally, I think they took this too far. https://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=n7faUHdlh9g
  13. If you were watching the first half of the Super Bowl then you probably saw this terribly sad Nationwide commercial: http://youtu.be/dKUy-tfrIHY Boy, that escalated quickly. Nice going, Nationwide. Super Bowl parties throughout the U.S. Turned into Crying Parties On a more happier note, here's some funny pictures from the internet's responce to this commercial: http://ftw.usatoday.com/2015/02/nationwide-super-bowl-ad-very-sad-reaction
  14. Has anyone ever noticed that Sam is the only spy not to hold a bad guy in a leg hold? (Wrapping legs round waist and arms round neck to stop him moving). Clover and Alex have done it many times, but not her.
  15. This could possibly be the most beautifully charming holiday special known to man.
  16. I don't care if nobody else watched it, I'm making this damn thread. So to sum up my feelings about the new Sonic cartoon "Sonic Boom": Now, going in and seeing the promos and the stuff from the video games at face value, you're probably thinking "oh, this might be like Sonic SatAM where they're in some kind of crazy world and going on adventures and stuff" ... well, they're in some kind of crazy world, I guess, but the adventure part is sort of left to be desired. I can tell, however, that there is more high energy action-y adventure-y type stuff on the way; our first two episodes are more focusing on introducing the cast as well as the writing style the show is going to take. As for the cast: well, they're what you'd expect your favorite Sonic characters to be like in a weekly cartoon show format: Sonic is the main hero (with an attitude); Tails is the smart sidekick; Amy is annoying as hell, but a "funny" annoying and not "annoying" annoying (though it doesn't look like she's going to have any romantic feelings for Sonic in this canon. That might change later on though); Knuckles is an egotistical dick (lol, he totally reminds me of Roy Mustang) and our new gal Sticks (not Marine) is a spunky raccoon with a paranoid streak. She's basically the opposite of Amy and from what the games have advertised, I think those two in paticular will have some good chemistry. So how's the writing? I'll tell you how it is, it's f*cking hilarious. This show, first off, is not taking itself seriously, so you should not take it seriously either. Our first episode split into two parts has our first part involving Sonic firing Tails as his sidekick and opening up the position to new candidates, and the second part is about Eggman crashing at Sonic's place as his fortress gets wrecked during a storm (I won't go any further than that because spoilers.) What follows these two plots are humorous banter between our characters that do well to establish their personalities right off the bat as well as provide some back-and-forth and very blunt humor that I personally think is hilarious, mostly because its the type of humor you see me emit on a daily basis. lol It's very loose and while it gives off the impression that, you know, Eggman isn't that much of a villain due to this "antics"... you couldn't really expect him to be any worse anyway. He's Eggman. He's always been a joke. lol And he's very introverted in this show as well. Eggman, believe it or not, has some sort of secret desire to actually be Sonic's friend. Well, sort of. He denies it constantly, but if you pay attention to subtle hints, you might discover that his feelings are true. That's what I think after all. If anybody else is going to actually come to this thread, then share your own thoughts about the first episode and what your thoughts on the series are below.
  17. While the trailer is short, it does raise up a few questions of how the movie goes down, don't you think?
  18. "We won't be intimidated by criminal threats!" Since there's no real thread on here just to talk about Toonami for the sake of Toonami in general... well, here we are. For those of you who aren't in the know, I'll give you a brief summary of Toonami, because believe me, the history is long and vast: Toonami started off as a animated programming block on Cartoon Network, showcasing a multitude of action cartoons like Johnny Quest, ThunderCats, and Voltron. Eventually, it morphed into what its more commonly known as today: a block of "east meets west animation": American action cartoons, like it showed in the past and with new editions like Superfriends and Beast Wars; Transformers, but also showcasing English dubbed, action-oriented anime as well. Toonami has helped piqued interest in many current fans of anime, action or just in general, here in the West. Some of the classic anime Toonami showcased include DragonBall Z, Sailor Moon, Cardcaptors, G Gundam, Yu Yu Hakusho, Ruroni Kenshin, and many, many more. The block ran consecutively from 1997-2008, showcasing an entire channel's worth of cartoons and anime, various format, theme, and bumper design changes with the fictional robot host TOM, and some movies, special airings, contests, events, online video services such as Toonami Reactor and Toonami Jetstream, and general quality entertainment thrown into the mix during. Sadly, the block was cancelled in 2008, with Jetstream, its latest streaming service ending a year later, and wouldn't see light on television for four years... that is, until one night, on April Fools 2012, Adult Swim, Cartoon Network's regular nightly block that plays adult theme cartoons and television shows, pulled a stunt where they re-aired various programs from Toonami, along with the bumpers, visuals, and TOM from its third incarnation, one of its more well known themes. This sparked the interest of all Toonami fans to bring back the block for real. Fortunately, this was exactly what Adult Swim had in mind. One month later, after gaining massive support from fans through Twitter, Adult Swim re-launched Toonami once more on May 26. Since then, it has been airing consecutively just like it did in its first eleven year run, without skipping a beat, and it seems to be gaining its original stride from all those years ago, slowly but surely, airing shows both old and new. I am one of those anime fans that Toonami help built. My favorite anime of all time, I first watched on Toonami. Heck, I used to be one of those people who didn't even understand anime at all, and yet, my interest was piqued, and eventually, that interest would help me grow into the anime fan I am today. Some of my own personal favorites from Toonami include DragonBall Z, Yu Yu Hakusho, Ruroni Kenshin, Naruto, Zatch Bell, Bobobo-bo Bo-bobo, and Hamtaro of all things. Toonami also gave me my first taste of a anime film, that being Spirited Away. I admit, I didn't actually watch too many action cartoons on Toonami at all. In retrospect, it wasn't that the block did have any I was interested in, its just that I was already watching some of them on the regular Cartoon Network. lol So now that I've spilled all my guts, I can finally give you guys a chance to say something. lol (That "brief summary wasn't brief at all...) What are your Toonami memories? What shows did you watch? How are you enjoying Toonami's current run? And if you want to make up your own "dream schedule" as well, that's cool too. I'd make one myself but quite frankly, I think I've said enough in this post and I'm more curious to see what you guys come up with first. lol
  19. Discuss The Clone Wars here. I'm about to finish watching season 5. It's been a great season so far.
  20. If you're a huge Supernatural fan like me, this theory has probably crossed your mind once or twice, hopefully. And this video is a MUST watch for all fans just because of its' very existence...Will this happen in S10?! I would honestly be SURPRISED if Dean actually outsmarted Lucifer in this situation...Remember, we're still in 2014....And I know some things are different. Like how in this alternate reality, Dean says he hasn't talked to Sam in 5 years. But Dean tried to change the future so of course it will differ slightly, but remember "No matter what road you take, whatever details you alter, we will always end up...here". Until 2015 comes I'll stick to this theory. Pay attention to how Dean is acting in this alternate reality! It makes sense that the Mark of Cain could have been the cause of his actions. "Wow man something is broken in you"...And how Cas is losing his grace. It just seems like it's getting closer and closer to this theory!
  21. Adventure Time is finally going to air new episodes again, but I can't watch it because of the stupid Turner disagreement with Dish. On the bright side, I have Nicktoons.
