  1. With the year over let's take a look at the sales in Japan for Final Fantasy titles in 2015. Wasn't many releases though. Haha. All numbers are from Famitsu. From my understanding this does not include digital. Final Fantasy Type-0 HD sold 128,447 copies on PlayStation 4 Final Fantasy Explorers sold an additional 53,383 copies on Nintendo 3DS bringing it to 265,587 copies. Will be interesting to see how it performs in North America & Europe/Australia with the 3DS in likely its last year of being relevant. Final Fantasy X/X-2 HD Remaster sold 32,922 copies on PlayStation 4. Only other things to crack the top 381 were FFXIV releases which sold around 55,000 copies combined. Majority for PS4.
  2. I just defeated the "Superboss" in this game, the cosmic Malboro who is on the final floor. It took about 3 hours to clear the whole tower; here's some tips for those that want to attempt it -You must be level 99, no questions asked - Use Rem since she has the best magic cancel in the game - You're going to be using spells the whole time so make sure they are decently leveled - Have Tornado and Meteor and Boost II - SP Helm (70,000 SPP Reward) is very useful since it has freecast built in which allows you to spam spells without worrying about MP - Anima Lanterns or Phoenix Pinions are a must here, they both grant Reraise and they must be placed on shortcut at all times. Anima Lanterns can be farmed from Tonberries and you even get some after clearing floor 1 on the tower - Equip Avoid Magic - Don't bother using more than 1 character, they AI in this game is too stupid to know what to do and it usually just ends up killing your party members Floor Strategies: Floor 1 (100 Tonberries): Have Fire Bomb II or Blizard Bomb II on shortcut and spam it. The tonberries will flinch and take damage over time. Always use Anima Lantern or Pinion if you die since the Tonberries 1 shot you here. Also very important: EQUIP RIBBON!! The Tonberries here cast stop which freezes you in place and gets you 1 shotted afterwards. Ribbon protects against this Floor 2 (100 Ceourls): Possibly the 2nd hardest floor to clear. These guys are relentless especially later because they spawn 3 at a time. They cast "Blaster" which shoots balls of lighting at you that 1 shot you and they also 1 shot you if they use their electric attack. Strategy: Spam Fire RF on the Ceourls and Meteor on the Blaster Orbs. Keep dodging when they get near you and you'll get the timing right with practice Floor 3 (100 Glasya Labolas): These guys aren't that difficult. Spam Fire Bomb II or Blizzard Bomb II and watch out for their clap attack since that can one shot you. They start spawning 3 at a time during 70+ kills so watch out for that Floor 4 (100 Mushussu): Not too bad here. These guys stand still unless they wake up 3 times which will then cause them to enrage and move around crazily; you don't want this. The strategy here is to spam Tornado while moving around to dodge their sludge attacks. Later on they will appear 2 and 3 at a time which can be challenging. Once they come at you with 3 i recommend standing far away and casting tornado on the farthest one to the right or left to avoid waking up the other ones. If you do end up getting enrage then don't panic; cast tornado and hope you don't get hit. If you do get hit reapply Reraise status. This was the second longest floor on the tower (30 minutes) Floor 5 (100 Behemoth Kings): The longest floor on the tower so be prepared. It took me 45 minutes to clear this. Behemoth Kings will spawn once at a time until 50+ kills which then spawn 2. Strategy here is to cast Boost II for invisibility and then cast tornado twice on the Behemoth King. After casting Tornado twice wait for Invis to run out and reapply then repeat casting tornado twice. If you feel confident enough you can cast tornado 3 times but be warned, this only gives you 2 seconds to reapply invis before the behemoths spot you and lunge Final Floor (Cosmic Malboro Final Boss): Cast Boost II for invis and spam meteor. Congrats, you just cleared the Hardest Dungeon in the game! You get the proof of agito which gives you all buffs and damage boosts. You can only get this once and you can use it to re-enter the tower again if you choose
  3. Positives- 1. It feels like a classic FF title: In terms of the world map and the towns you can visit, it feels like the older titles made by Squaresoft back in the 90's 2. The combat system is amazing: Killshots and Breakshots add a level of difficulty to the combat; you can't just spam attack and hope to win a battle; the enemies in this game can dodge and they often abuse it unless you take time to wait for the right moment to strike. There are also some challenging bosses and monsters you run into later in the game which will prove difficult to defeat (especially in the final dungeon) 3. The game is designed to be played more than once: There are more missions and extra cutscenes that you can unlock during a second playthrough; the enemies are also tougher and hand out better rewards after being defeated 4. The somewhat violent setting/battles in the game are refreshing from what we FF and KH fans are used to in a normal FF title; this IS a game about a war between 4 nations after all 5. The graphics are a huge improvement over the PSP version; while it doesn't truly look like a PS4 game the graphics are amazing to look at 6. Its fast to platinum. I've only played for 2 days so far (23 hours in-game clock) and im at 76% trophy completion. I plan on getting the plat within this week or during spring break 7. You can switch between Japanese and English voices! I've always wanted this feature in a FF game and i was really annoyed that we had to pay for it for Lightning Returns. I only hope Square Enix also implements it in XV because Noctis's english VA is annoying to listen to Negatives- 1. There are 14 characters in this game to pick from which means you are going to spend ALOT of time leveling each one of them up. There is a trick you can use with the secret trainer in the arena to get unlimited EXP by manipulating the PS4's date and time settings (takes about 30 minutes) to fully level a character from 1-99 this way but i haven't used it Overall, i give this game a 9/10. I can say without a doubt that its one of the most fun FF games i've played so far, and i've played nearly all of them. If you are on the fence about this one, i suggest getting it right away. It also comes with the XV demo in the day one edition
  4. I started with Type-0 because the demo needed time to download... Type-0 was really fun! It kinda throws you in there without really giving you much warning.... it gives you game-play controls then throws you right into the fight, and it is fun and easy enough to understand, however it did grade me at the end which pissed me off... I never liked being graded in a game... especially for time... like if you don't want me to go around and explore and look for items... don't make so many paths and shiny items.... If I get a D in time it is because I looked at every dead body for a Knowing Tag, so sorry for getting into the lore...(Also this isn't a real complaint, I understand that you are a cadet that should be graded at the end and this was just a preference) . Then you go to the Academy, and I spent about an hour talking to everyone and visiting every room I could before going back out into the missions. The game asked if I wanted extra help
  5. Now that we are only a few days away from the US release of Type-0 HD, who here has already pre-ordered the day one edition which includes the FFXV Demo? What are you guys going to play first, Type-0 HD or Episode Duscae? I myself am very excited to finally get a chance to play the game which has been in development hell for the last 8 years, a game i thought would never come out in my lifetime. Seriously, I almost lost all hope that Versus XIII (FFXV) would ever come out since Square Enix never updated us on the status of the game until E3 2013. I am so glad we finally get a chance to play FFXV before it comes out. O yeah, Type-0 HD is nice too
