IV-Xemnas. V-Xigbar/Braig. VI-Saix/Isa. VII-Terra-Xehanort. VIII-Terranort. IX-Adult Xehanort. X-Female Xehanort. XI-Vanitas/Vanitas' Remnant. XII-Sora-Xehanort. XIII-Xehanort's Guardian. ( Terra-Xehanort is Xehanort after he took over Terra's body but before he became Ansem the Wise's apprentice. Terranort is Terra-Xehanort after having adjusted to being Ansem the Wise's apprentice. Adult Xehanort is Master Xehanort during his younger years, for example, his 30's or 40's before he became an elderly old man. Female Xehanort is a parallel universe version of Young Xehanort. Vanitas or his Remnant could very well be a possible addition to Xehanort's new Organization XIII. Sora-Xehanort is a copy of the original Sora that Xehanort had created after the events of Dream Drop Distance since he could not obtain the original Sora. Xehanort's Guardian could make up the missing number 13 within the ranks. ) Other possible candidates could be Marluxia, Larxene, Demyx and Luxord or their somebodies, explaining why they didn't appear when the original Organization XIII was resurrected, a possible theory. I have a theory of what's in the box that the Master of Masters was dragging. I think it might be the 13 pieces of darkness of the shattered χ-blade. The χ-blade shattered into 20 pieces: 13 of darkness and 7 of light. We know that it broke into 7 pieces of light in order to protect the hearts of the Seven Princesses of Heart, but we don't know exactly what that means. Especially considering the Seven Princesses of Heart weren't alive way back then. But maybe it means that the χ-blade shattered into 7 pieces of light which would then become the Seven Princess of Heart's hearts in the future? Also, we were never told what happened to the 13 pieces of darkness. If a heart of pure darkness and a heart of pure light clash, then the χ-blade is recreated, but it is unstable. In DDD, it is revealed that Xehanort plans on capturing the Seven Princesses again so that they can clash with the 13 Seekers of Darkness to recreate the χ-blade. But, how can this be? The 13 Seekers of Darkness don't have hearts of pure darkness, so how would them clashing with the pure-hearted princesses recreate the χ-blade? I think I might know the answer. I believe that Xehanort wants to find that case that the Master of Masters has or maybe he already has it. If the 13 pieces of darkness from the shattered χ-blade are in that case, then Xehanort can take them and put them into each of the 13 Seekers of Darkness' hearts to turn them into hearts of pure darkness. Then, he can clash with the Princesses of Heart to recreate the χ-blade, but this time, a much more stable one. It'd actually pretty much be the original χ-blade because it'd be created from the original shattered pieces. So yeah, what do you think of this theory? Anything I could add to it?

I've written several stories regarding Xehanort in his younger years, most chief among them being "Broken Brotherhood," which I wrote years ago, and recently began re-writing. Broken Brotherhood is about Xehanort's final days in the Land of Departure as a pupil. Over Seven Years have passed since the end of the great X-Blade War, Three Years after the X-Blade War had ended, a young lad by the age of 19 named Sora had lost his ability to wield the Keyblade and with it, all the powers that made him renowned, as the legendary hero who had lead the side of Light into victory against the side of Darkness during the final battle of the war, in the time he was without any sorts and/or kinds of powers, he was approached by a stranger who offered to give Sora his powers back but this was all a ruse in order to drain Sora of all powers that he had remaining completely, however, with the help of his close friends and loved ones, Sora gained new Keyblade powers and with them, he defeated the stranger and his allies in battle, thanks to the help of everyone that Sora had all made bonds with, now with his new powers, Sora is currently studying under ancient Keyblade Masters from times long since past, in preparation for the oncoming return of the source of all Darkness, evil and hatred that exists within the entire universe itself, including the progenitor of all the Pureblood Heartless, throughout all his battles so far, Sora has defeated each and every single one of his enemies has triumphed...but now...the boy's story is about to reach its final conclusion, since the very day he was born, all of the things that have led up to this...are about to come, to an end...this is it...the final story and chapter of a young man named Sora and all of his friends, Four Years have passed since Sora and his very best friend since childhood Riku went to train under the ancient masters, now they must fight, for both their and everyone else's lives, as the final showdown with Darkness--no, the final showdown with pure evil itself...is about to begin, we take a look into the future of what becomes of Sora, how he fares during the final battle itself. This is what is etched into the future, no one may change its outcome, as it will decide everything, for everyone...but for now, we go back 16 days before this event occurs, revealing what happens to lead up to this absolutely certain final current point in time, here is the story...of the War of Endings, the final conflict both of and in Human history. Day I: Four Years Later. Four Years have passed since Sora and Riku left, Kairi is seen on the Destiny Islands by the usual spot at the tree, thinking to herself "...Sora." thought Kairi, as we could see her in full appearance, she has grown her hair longer then all of her previous appearances, it extends to the back of the middle of her stomach... ...meanwhile........ Radiant Garden, the capital of Light, for where anyone and everyone from all Worlds alike come to visit at one focused, central point within the entire universe itself, its magnificent castle that has stood since the World's very beginning........ ........the castle........crumbles........completely and utterly destroyed........its remaining rubble falling all over the entire town and the citizens........ in the lab at the Radiant Garden, Ienzo is seen panicking, saying to Even "Even!? what do we do!?!? they came without warning!!!!!!!!" said Ienzo, as Even lastly replied "...Your right, its them, no mistaking it...it can be them and ONLY them! they have come!!!! hurry!! we must get to master Ansem right away!!!!!!!!" said Even... ...at the top of Ansem's castle could be seen a bloodied Ansem the Wise himself, being hung up by a both strange and mysterious masked man wearing a pointy mask in the shape of a Heart, saying to Ansem lastly the words "...The era of Light is dead, the Worlds will crumble, starting with its monument, the pillar of Light, your castle...the capital of Light........has fallen........go, call your heroes, call your protectors: the Keyblade wielders...we have come, WE ARE READY." with that, the masked individual drops Ansem high in the sky right down below towards the ground, leaving him to fall, only to be caught by a young man, wearing a white version of the Black Coats of Organization XIII, saying to Ansem "...Hey! old man!! you alright!?!? say something!!!!!!!!" said the young hooded man... the wind causes the young man's hood to fall off, revealing white long hair, a scar running across his face and pierced ears with Heart shaped piercings on them, this young man is revealed to be none other than...Riku! age 24. his body was slightly more muscular and bulkier and he was seen carrying his Way to the Dawn Keyblade on the back of his body, Riku looked up towards the pointy masked man, as he was about to reveal his face... "...So you've come, fallen hero of Darkness, my name is Ivarne, Ivarne Keskilioptos, we were expecting...someone, other then you." said the masked man, as he revealed his face, revealing purple coloured hair and slanted red coloured eyes, his hair was spiky all around, he wielded a Scimitar by the side of his right hip, he lastly said to Riku: "Where is he? where is the one? where is...SORA." said Ivarne, as Riku gave him cold, piercing eyes, he was prepared to fight. Kingdom Hearts 3: Attack of the Xehanorts! ;D

This theory was originally developed by derekscorner and revised last night. I delve into the theory a little bit myself and came up with something pretty incredible. Again, most of this theory is in credit to derekscorner. All I’ve done is branch it out a little more. You can read the original post along with what I came up with here. Kingdom Hearts is never entirely clear on how it’s universe works. The only trustworthy information you can get is spoken by characters in cut scenes, usually rather vague and said with symbolism, or it’s hidden somewhere in the “Reports” you recover throughout all of the games. Because of this, the game can constantly flex it’s rules to bring about more scenarios and fix discrepancies it might have had in the past. But assuming, with the release 1.5+2.5 for the PS4, all of those discrepancies were fixed and the game is official, theories about this game will now become all the more relevant. And sensible. Most things in Kingdom Hearts can be explained away in a rather convoluted essay. However, there are still select few scenarios that fans can’t seem to tackle because it wouldn’t make sense for how the game’s universe operates. One of these leading scenarios is the issue of bringing the lost Nobodies back into existence. I’m talking about Roxas, Naminé, and Xion. “But it’s easy!” You say with excitement. “Sora just needs to release their hearts and they’ll be here!” Well, in a sense, you’re right. But it also wouldn’t make sense regarding how the game works. Not many people remember them because they weren’t really relevant until now, but the Secret Ansem reports obtained in Kingdom Hearts II describe how an individual being works: Secret Ansem Report #4Three elements combine to create a life: a heart, a soul, and a body. But what of the soul and body left behind when the heart is lost? When the soul leaves the body, its vessel, life gives way to death, but what about when the heart leaves? A being does not perish when its heart leaves its body. The heart alone disappears into the darkness. The body is quite obviously the body of a person, which is just their vessel. Their heart is basically their personality and memories, as well as “power”, which is stored inside their body. And the soul is not really their spirit, but rather just the life-force or energy used to make a body living. This is where things start to get confusing. Regarding Sora releasing the hearts of Roxas, Naminé, and Xion, it could only POTENTIALLY work for Roxas. It’s best if we explain what each character’s scenario is. Roxas, even though he doesn’t look like Sora, nor even has his voice or personality, is still Sora’s Nobody. His creation was brought about by Sora’s sacrifice. Sora’s heart was cast into the darkness, reforming as a Heartless, whilst his body and soul reformed in the Realm Between as Roxas. Roxas had Ventus’ heart within him because Ven’s heart didn’t leave Sora’s body upon him stabbing himself with the Keyblade. Because of this, his body reformed to somewhat compare to Ventus. Though there still isn’t an explanation as to why his clothing isn’t identical. Maybe we’ll never know. So Roxas was created from Sora’s body and soul and could only be recreated if Sora became a Heartless again, giving up his body and soul for Roxas’ possession. Naminé is something different altogether, but somewhat similar in how she exists. She was created when Sora released Kairi’s heart from within him, but she doesn’t actually have the qualities of a Nobody that normally others do. Because Kairi has a heart of pure light, she literally can’t create a Heartless. When her heart was stolen, her body kinda just slumped over like a sleeping puppet, kinda like what happened to Ventus. But it’s the fact that her body DIDN’T reform as a Nobody, but stayed in the Realm of Light. What ACTUALLY created Naminé was Sora releasing her heart from within his body. This leads me and some others to believe a fraction of him went off to form Roxas while another to form Naminé. It also kinda adds up as to why Naminé has blonde hair, because Ventus’ heart influenced her appearance slightly. And why her appearance is so basic, because it’s not a real body whatsoever. So Naminé doesn’t have any body or soul, but she was created from borrowed fragments of Sora’s and influenced by Sora and Ventus’ hearts. Xion is a pretty straightforward one. She isn’t an actual Nobody, but a puppet that had a soul stuffed inside it. She also has memories of Kairi from when Vexen “tested” Sora in Chain of Memories. But because Sora’s memories of Kairi were being shadowed by Naminé, she appeared like a shadow of Kairi. Her entire existence is dependent on these memories remaining inside her body. But because she decided that Sora needs to awaken, she willingly gave them up to Roxas and her body perished without its fundamental core. And without that core, all memories built on top of it crashed down and the chain was destroyed, leading everyone to forget Xion ever existed. The links of her memories were buried in Sora’s heart. So Xion’s entire existence was dependent on Sora’s memories of Kairi and without them, her body couldn’t stand. And because all of her memories are broken in Sora’s heart, she is woven into his being. “But wait!” You say with confidence. “Sora returned to the Realm of Light without his body and soul when Kairi brought him back!” And there you are, calling out the holes in the theory. Hate it when people do that. This is best explained by looking somewhere completely different in the series: the creation of Vanitas. Oh yeah, our mean bean who wants to murder everyone and gave Haley Joel Osment the time of his life getting to laugh so deviously. Vanitas’ creation isn’t too hard to understand: when the darkness of Ventus’ heart got ripped out of his body, it reformed as a being of darkness, Vanitas. And this is the cool part: Vanitas DIDN’T use Ventus’ body to form himself, but rather the power of darkness itself. He created his body through sheer force of manipulating the darkness within him, or perhaps Xehanort did it. My point still stands either way: if a being of pure darkness is capable of creating a body of pure darkness, could a being of pure light create a body of pure light? Yes, you heard me. Kairi didn’t bring Sora’s body back from the Realm Between, but rather made him a new one out of the light within her heart. This did, however, make Sora an incomplete person. Because he no longer had a real body, I would think his life would be more on the line than ever. He is literally a floating heart surrounded by light at this point, making Darkness all the more lethal to the boy. But that’s not too important right now. Because it’s dangerous for Sora to just be a heart surrounded by light, especially with Xehanort still trying to turn him into a vessel, him just giving up his body for Roxas would be rather dangerous. Even if Kairi pulled him back from the darkness, there’s no guarantee the same thing would happen again. And you can’t repeat the actions for Naminé without somehow hurting Kairi in the process. So our issue here is lack of body and soul. Roxas can’t just take Sora’s body again, it would leave Sora in harm’s way. Naminé being created out of fragments of a body, or even just sheer nothingness, won’t work again. And recreating Xion would require that they know where this puppet lab is and how everything there works. Each of these situations, each person is under special circumstances. But there has always been one definite and constant thing that has been able to manifest itself in the real world without harm: the data used in Ansem’s computer. Yeah. Data. Just the 1’s and 0’s. Need an example? 1) The munny pouch that belonged to data-Olette in Twilight Town. Riku was able to retrieve it from within the data-world and BRING IT INTO THE REAL WORLD. He handed it off to Mickey, who gave it to Sora for them to buy train tickets. See, that always bugged me. Really badly. That train we just took is a MAGIC TRAIN that’s ONLY HERE FOR US. Why in the world would we need to pay for tickets to go on this train that Yen Sid sent for US? There’s no one on the train checking for tickets! YOU CAN TELL BECAUSE THEY JUST WALK RIGHT ON WITHOUT ARGUMENT. There wasn’t any reason for that munny pouch to be handed off to Sora unless they wanted to make it BLATANTLY OBVIOUS that DATA CAN BE BROUGHT INTO THE REAL WORLD. 2) The Heartless invasion by the MCP. This one is the less obvious, but complete giveaway. Those Heartless used during the invasion were, quite obviously, not meant to be in Radiant Garden. The MCP was spawning them there using data. Yes! He used data to spawn the Heartless. Their models and code already existed in the computer, so he just turned on the Heartless Manufactory and went to work. And also, THE HEARTLESS MANUFACTORY! It literally CREATES BEINGS FROM DATA! This is a dead giveaway that data can be used to CREATE REAL LIFE THINGS! And in Dream Drop Distance on the Grid, it’s constantly hinted at the fact that the device used to bring Sora and company in and out of Space Paranoids can work BOTH WAYS! In the actual movie, IT HAPPENED! A data person was brought out of the Grid and into the real world! Data can be made into real, physical objects. And evidenced by the ending to Tron:Legacy, they can be alive, as well. Now, how can I truly persuade you that this theory is correct? I was pondering this for a long time. While I first read about it, I was thinking to myself that this is completely bizarre and there’s no way the games would go this route. But as I looked into things myself and stared at the wall of Kingdom Hearts theories I’ve had over the years, it clicked. This was meant to happen. Allow me to explain. The data version of Ansem and his research that was discovered inside Sora’s heart. This is huge. It seemed like a random thing that Nomura and crew threw into the game because… reasons. But it’s not. What if I told you that this data Riku found was actually research about how data can be brought into the real world and, in turn, can be used to recreate a person? Ansem was researching the Nobodies and must’ve discovered something about using the data to make bodies for them. He must’ve told Naminé to some degree about this, giving her hope that she and Roxas wouldn’t actually disappear. This is what leads to Coded (Kingdom Hearts Re:Coded). “WHAT?! CODED?!” Yeah, I know! Coded is ACTUALLY RELEVANT? Incredible! Anyways, it starts like this: Naminé placed a data version of herself, as well as the memories inside Sora’s heart, in the journal. Because these weren’t supposed to be here, the journal got all messed up. After repairing it, Data-Riku was able to find this hidden data and Data-Sora was sent to investigate. He found the hidden memories as well as Naminé telling him that Sora needs to call these memories to the surface in order to awaken their hearts. From their, the Keyblade to Return Hearts, as mentioned in previous games, would be used to extract their hearts from within Sora and return them to existence. “Okay, cool. So Coded is hardly relevant.” OH, BUT I’M NOT DONE! Coded gets way more important. It’s actually the fundamental base for this part of the theory. And it’s mind-blowing how well this fits into place! I’m gonna break away and give you guys a little lesson on 3D printing. In order to actually 3D print you need something that can fabricate what you’re trying to print. Once you have the device, you need a model. A good example of a model is like a ring. That ring was initially created or scanned into a model file so that the printer would be able to create it. You essentially make something out of data. So I’ve been thinking… The transfer device in Ansem’s lab is basically a 3D printer, but it works both ways. It’s for someone to enter or exit the data-world. It’s MEANT to transfer atoms to data and data to atoms. It’s how they’re going to fabricate the bodies of data for Roxas, Naminé and Xion. It doesn’t even matter if you’re thinking of the lab in Twilight Town or the lab in Radiant Garden, because BOTH were built by Ansem! But then comes the issue of the model they must “print” out. We need to create models of each of our little Nobodies from scratch. Huh? “Use Ventus as a model for Roxas?” Haha, well, you’re onto something. I’d completely agree with you to use Ventus as a basic model for Roxas were it not for the fact that we already HAVE a model of Roxas that’s already been created. The same can be said for Xion and Naminé. We have them already. The models are already present in the journal in Coded. Don’t believe me? Well, take a second glance at the Re:Coded HD Remaster from 2.5! HE’S THERE! Roxas already has a FULL MODEL of his body in the journal, complete with voice and body build, as well as his face and his hair, as seen underneath the hood. All you need to do is drop his heart into it and export the data using the terminal in Ansem’s lab! Naminé PLACED all of this data inside the journal, not just for Mickey and company to find it and inform Sora about the memories inside him, but so they could USE the data to CREATE BODIES FOR OUR LOST FRIENDS. “Wait a second! This is really cool and all, but wouldn’t Ansem’s computer already have some of this data then, effectively making Coded useless again?” Man, we all really hate Coded, don’t we? My answer to that is: no, Ansem’s computer wouldn’t have this information on it nor would the models exist there. Why? Because, as BLATANTLY SPOKEN by Ansem and Riku themselves, and clearly evidenced multiple times throughout the beginning of Kingdom Hearts II, their data-Twilight Town has been completely compromised. Nobodies are everywhere and searching for Roxas. If the Organization found any of this information that Ansem and Naminé had discovered, everything would be over. So, in a panic, Ansem wiped his computer of anything having to do with data in correlation to Nobodies and hid it inside Sora, hoping they would find it. Naminé would hide the information about Sora’s hidden memories and the models that could be used inside the journal to be discovered later. Because Naminé was taken somewhere safe by Axel, she never got the chance to tell Sora about it. And seeing how Ansem immediately felt the need to begin his revenge scheme against Xehanort, he just left the boy to his own devices. Seeing the main plot of Coded be revealed with Castle Oblivion in the end, I have no doubts that this theory is correct. The focus of the game is to figure out what Naminé hid in the journal. I feel like data-Roxas’ role in the journal is important here. He was meant to get Sora to understand the painful memories inside him and that it was Sora’s role to wake them up and return them to existence. I’m still not entirely sure how he can tie into this theory, but I know he’s a strong point of it. But in short, here’s what we came up with: Data can be used to recreate bodies for the Nobodies who disappeared. The data transfer device in Ansem’s lab can be used to fabricate these bodies. The journal informs Sora on how to wake up the hearts inside him. The journal holds the models required to fabricate the bodies.

Hello everyone! This is my first post, I got tired of lurking about these forums and not being able to say anything so I decided to get an account! Finally people I can speak to about this game!!! Anyways, to the question. Spoilers below! Please bare with the essay, as I was typing new questions were popping into my head and I got a bit carried away! IM SO CONFUSED! I don't even think I'm making any sense. Did any of they make sense? I'm not sure it did but I know where I'm trying to go with this. I'm just hoping that in Kingdom Hearts III they explain everything as I heard it's the last game involving the Xehanort story so they need to wrap things up and explain things (probably why it's taking so long for them to release the game....) But seriously if anyone had any light they can shed on my question it would be muchly appreciated! Worreth_

So I have a crazy theory... but it is a really really really long one. I hope you guys will enjoy this, because I put a lot of effort in this one. My English is not that super, but I did the best I can to translate it from Dutch (I'm from the Netherlands) to English. So if there is something you don't understand, please ask and I will do my best to help you. Anyways, grap a cup of coffee or tea or something else to drink, because you'll have some reading to do, haha. But I think you're gonna like this one. Enjoy! So, I've played KH 2.8 and after that I had some KH3 vibes. So I re-watched the KH3 E3 2015 trailer and I've noticed something. In the trailer we see a young version of Xehanort. In one of the shots we can see his face and there is something odd with his eyes. The eyes of Xehanort are more brownlike then yellow, but there is also a yellow glow in his eyes. Some people think this means that Xehanort is turning more and more to the darkness. But I think that’s not the case. I think there is more than meets the eye (see what I did there, haha). I think that Luxu has something to do with the eyes of Xehanort. Let me explain why… Let’s start with the Xehanort footage of the KH3 E3 2015 trailer. This is the way how young Xehanort looks in this footage: His eyes are not full yellow like we know from the other versions of Xehanort. But if we look closer, we can see a yellow glow around the brown color. Most of you guys knows that when Xehanort place his heart into a new vessel, the vessel’s eyes will turn yellow (and in some cases they even get pointy ears). We can see this happen with people like Terra and Braig, who become a version or part of Xehanort. The yellow eyes means that Xehanort is 1.) a part of somebodies heart (like Braig) or 2.) has taken control of the whole body of his new vessel (like Terra). So if KHfans sees yellow eyes with someone, they think that this person is maybe a vessel of Xehanort. But what if the whole yellow eye thing is not originally a Xehanort thing. My thought is that Luxu is the one with natural yellow eyes and his heart is a part of Xehanort’s body. Which means that Xehanort is a vessel of Luxu. Just look at the image of the E3 2015 young Xehanort again. It seems that Xehanort’s eyes were originally brownlike. If Luxu’s eyes are indeed yellow and his heart (or a piece of it) resides with Xehanort’s body, then it could explain the yellow glow in his eyes. Little by little is Luxu’s heart infiltrating Xehanort’s body/heart until Xehanort is a full vessel. But what about the time we see young Xehanort in dream drop distance? This young Xehanort has already yellow eyes, so what’s up with that? I think this has something to do with the time travel aspect we’ve been introduced by in the KH 3ds game. The young version of Xehanort (the version before he disappeared from Destiny Islands to see the outside worlds) had an encounter with Ansem the Seeker of Darkness. Ansem told this version of Xehanort his future and his role during the dream drop distance period. This version of Xehanort has not yet wield the Keyblade of used some (dark)powers (I assume). So I think, in order to fulfill his role in dream drop distance, Ansem gave a piece of his heart to this version of Xehanort. I think it is because of this that young Xehanort could use the power that he uses during the dream drop distance events. Remember, Ansem is in his robeform during his conversation with the young Xehanort, which means that he was nothing else but a heart. And we saw in KH1 that he can give his heart to another person, like when he did this with Riku. The young Xehanort truly accept the piece of hart in his body and thus the yellow eyes appear (because Ansem’s heart is has a bit of Luxu’s heart in it if this theory is right). But after the events of dream drop distance young Xehanort goes back to his own time at Destiny Islands and loses his yellow eyes. Why? Because of the rules of time travel. In a conversation with Sora in the 3ds game, young Xehanort reveals that time travel has his own rules. If your time of time traveling is up, you return to your own time and you will not remember what happened during your travelling. A second rule is that things that are destined to happen will happen. So when young Xehanort returns to his timeline, he went back to Destiny Islands and did forget about his adventure of the 3ds game. He also loses his yellow eyes because his powers he used in the 3ds game are gone (not entirely gone because it will be connected with him deep down in his heart). This is because Xehanort’s destiny. His destiny is to travel to outside worlds, to become a Keyblademaster and…. to be used as a vessel for Luxu. That’s the moment he is destined to get the yellow eyes. When young Xehanort leaves Destiny Islands and is going to train with a young Eraqus, their training will be given by their Keyblademaster. And that Keyblademaster will be Luxu. Not the Luxu we know of the KHX game though. No, I think that the master of Xehanort and Eraqus is a vessel for Luxu’s heart. I think that Luxu has trained many Keybladewielders and used some of his pupils to transfer his heart to. That way he can never die of old age. Finally he chose Xehanort to transfer his heart (or a part of it) to. That would explain the way the eyes of Xehanort look in the E3 trailer. We have never seen Luxu face, so it is possible that his eyes are yellow. Why would Luxu wants to keep transferring his heart into a new and younger vessel you say? I think the reason for that is because of what the Master of Masters told Luxu in KHX Backcover. The Master of Masters told Luxu that Luxu’s assignment includes passing the Keyblade “No Name” to a pupil that Luxu is going to train. So then the pupil will later on pass on “No Name” to his future pupil, and this pupil to his and then the next etc. etc.. That way the Master of Masters can look into the future while he is in the time of the past (age of Fairytales). Another assignment of Luxu from the Master of Masters is that Luxu must hide a mysterious box. Luxu himself may never open the box. So Luxu got curious and ask the Master of Masters what’s in the box. We fans don’t know what’s in the box, but Luxu does. After the master whispers in Luxu’s ear what’s in the box, Luxu freaks out and ask “Why?” The Master of Masters simply answers with, “You’ll see” or in Japanese “Surprise”. I think that Luxu was very unsatisfied with the answer he was given. He really wanted to know “Why”. But even so, Luxu follows his masters orders as we can see in KHX, or does he… What if Luxu was so curious about the box that he needed to know what will happen with the box when the new Keybladewar (the one that probably will happen in KH3) breaks out. The Master of Masters told him “You’ll see” but he knew that he probably would die before the box will be used. To cheat death Luxu uses his pupils to transfer his heart into a younger body, so he can live on. This action would also be fitting with his name. Luxu’s name is a short version from the word “Luxuria” which is a Latin word. Luxuria refers to one of the 7 deadly sins (like with the names of the Foretellers). Luxuria means “lust” in English. As you guys may already know, “lust” means a passionate need to fulfill certain needs. In Luxu’s case, the need to know what the box will do during the new Keybladewar. This need is so big that he would cheat death to find the answer. But after a while of transferring his heart in other bodies Luxu noticed that there is no Keybladewar in the making. So when he transfers his heart into Xehanort’s body, he is done with waiting and will take actions. The needs to know are too big for Luxu and is planning to begin the new Keybladewar himself in the name of Xehanort. And here starts the plan of Xehanort (but actually Luxu) to create 13 Seekers of Darkness. It could explain why Xehanort wants to start a Keybladewar in the previous games. His motives were mostly about curiosity of what will happen when the Keybladewar takes place. And he also has a urgent need to discover this. So if this theory is true both Luxu and Xehanort have big needs that they want to fulfill. Probably because Xehanort’s needs are actually Luxu’s needs and Luxu’s heart is in Xehanort’s body. If you don’t believe this theory, maybe some proof will help… Proof 1: We have never seen the face (at least the eyes) of the young Xehanort in his normal clothing on Destiny Islands. We only see his back. If he turns to the screen he change into other versions of Xehanort of even in versions of Riku. Why are we not aloud to see his face? Is it because his eyes are brown and not yellow? Proof 2: Luxu and Xehanort share a connection. They both wield the same Keyblade (“No Name”). If you rewatch the KH3 E3 trailer of 2015 with this theory in mind, you will (I hope, haha) notice that the things Xehanort said have a deeper meaning then we all think. For example: at the end of the trailer, when Xehanort looks up to the “No Name” Keyblade he is saying “The future has already been written”. Normally at lot of people think Xehanort is looking at the Keyblade at this moment because he knows that the “No Name” Keyblade is an ancient Keyblade from the age of Fairytales. But if Xehanort is actually Luxu, then it gets a different meaning. While saying “The future has already been written” and looking at the same time at the Keyblade, it could also be because Luxu knows that the gazing eye of this Keyblade is the reason that the future has already been written. And then the last sentence of the young Xehanort…. this honestly freaks me out while watching this with this theory’s glasses. When the young Eraqus response to the young Xehanort with “You’ll might be surprised”, then the last sentence of young Xehanort gets a whole other feeling for us. Xehanort reacts to it with “Oh, I hope so”. And while saying that, we see his full face with the strange brownlike with yellow glowing eyes. With this theory, the “Oh, I hope so” and the shot of his eyes could be referring to the whole “wanting to know what the box will do during the new Keybladewar”. Xehanort who is actually Luxu hopes to be surprised and his reaction is not only a reaction to Eraqus but also to what the Master of Masters told Luxu (You know… the “You’ll see” or even in Japanese “Surprise”). If this theory is going to be right then it could also answers another unanswered question we have had during the KHseries. With this I mean the unanswered question of who the traitor is in KHX. With this theory the answer is an easy one to give. The traitor would be Luxu. Luxu gets his assignment from the Master of Masters to never open the mysterious box. After waiting for a long time in hopes to see what will happen if the box will be opened during the Keybladewar but it isn’t happening, Luxu is making his own plans as Xehanort to get his needs fulfill. With these actions he is betraying the Master of Masters assignment and thus the Master of Masters will. After seeing a Nightmare Chirithy during the events of KHX, the Foretellers think that the traitor is someone in their group in their timelime. But it was never really clear when the traitor would do a treasonous act. It was never been stated that the traitor would do a treasonous act in the age of Fairytales. It could also take place in a future time… like the current timeline of the KHseries. If Luxu is the real traitor, then the description of the traitor would make more sense too. “The one who bears the sigil” is the line that describes the traitor. “The Sigil” could be referring to the “Recusant’s Sigil” as was explained in dream drop distance. The “Recusant’s Sigil” has the looks of a “X”. And which of the KHX characters has a “X” in their name? Luxu of course. But can a “X” in a name be counted as a “Recusant’s Sigil”? I think we may assume it. Xemnas uses “X” sigils all the time as a kind of trademark of Organization 13 names. The Master of Masters never wrote down in the Book of Prophecy when the traitor would do his treasonous acts, so I think it is possible that the whole traitor thing is referring to the time when Luxu is doing his plan as Xehanort. The Master of Masters could have seen these treasonous acts through the gazing eye on the “No Name” Keyblade, because Luxu still has that Keyblade. The reason why the Master of Masters is vague about the whole traitor thing is because he need the things to happen the way they are happing in the games to fulfill his own plans (whatever that may be…). So guy, what do you think? Do you think Luxu is the actually great bad instead of Xehanort? Is Xehanort a vessel of Luxu? Is Luxu the real traitor? And do you think (if this theory would be right) that the Master of Masters did know this all along and this is all part of his great plan? We know that after the Keyblade War happened and after Kingdom Hearts was lost to darkness, the World was recreated and reborn. Before the Keyblade War in the Age of Fairy Tales, the World was one massive piece of land. We do not know if it was an infinite flat piece of land or if it was just a massive planet or something, but we do know that it was very different than how the World is now. After the Keyblade War, something caused the World to be recreated into a World comprised of many smaller worlds/planets. One of the biggest questions I have always wondered about KH is "What caused the World to be reborn?" I've always thought of different scenarios and answers that would make sense. The one that I always assumed was probably the correct answer was that the Keyblade War was so destructive that it split the World/massive planet into many smaller worlds/planets. But, I now have realized the true answer. I was rereading the Xehanort's Report and I came across a bit of info that I'm guessing went under many people's noses. The part I'm talking about is this: "And when Kingdom Hearts is complete, it is said the one who opens its door will bring about the creation of the Next World. Such a feat is above any human. Or, to put it a different way: whoever opens that door will be reborn as something far greater than human." It suddenly hit me when I read this. I've always assumed that no one was able to unlock Kingdom Hearts way back in the Age of Fairy Tales and the Keyblade War just simply caused it to fade away. But no, that's not the case. Someone was able to unlock Kingdom Hearts way back in the Age of Fairy Tales after the Keyblade War. Someone unlocked Kingdom Hearts and was reborn into something far greater than human and created the Next World. The Next World is the world that people are currently living in now. The Next World is the world that is comprised of many smaller worlds. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't think I've seen a single person come to this realization yet. "How could we have been so blind?!" as King Mickey would say. Or maybe I'm just dumb and everyone has realized this already. This theory brings up many questions: Who unlocked Kingdom Hearts? Whoever they are basically became a god. Where is this godlike entity now? How does this connect with the Dandelions? I've always been a huge critic of the theory that some characters might be reincarnations of characters from the Age of Fairy Tales since it doesn't really have much evidence, but this could maybe mean that a character we know might be this godlike entity that was reborn. What do you think about all of this? What do you think this theory implies? How do you think this theory connects to everything? Any details I'm missing? EDIT: Another thing to note is that in the same Report, Xehanort states "To this day, no one has ever managed to open the door to Kingdom Hearts", but maybe he just doesn't know that it was unlocked way back then? Maybe this theory is completely incorrect, but it seems to fit so perfectly. How else would the World have been recreated into one with many smaller worlds? This theory makes way too much sense in my opinion to not be at least somewhat true.

So now we know straight from the source that Xehanort wanted to find Ven in the Chamber of Waking at Castle Oblivion. I say that because I remember some people speculating that Terra still lived in Xehanort and that Terra wanted to find Ven. But why would Xehanort want Ven? Did he want to use him as a vessel? It'd be much easier considering that he actually has no heart within him. I don't really see any other reason though. Besides, Xehanort didn't show any interest in Ven except for the creation of the X-Blade since trying to use him like he used Terra didn't turn out right.

I understand time travel in Dream Drop Distance for the most part, but there's always been this one thing that I don't really understand. in the game, we are told that the Robed Figure passed on the ability to time travel to Young Xehanort, so that Young Xehanort doesn't have to get rid of his body or something like that. I was confused as to how you can just simply "give" someone the ability to time travel, so I looked into it. I found a Nomura interview where he says this: "to transcend time one must ‘first’ discard their form. As a result of the actions of the Brown Robed Figure, they all were in a state where they had gained the power to transcend time. The Brown Robed Figure explains the facts. The thirteen were summoned at the same time, this time thanks to Young Xehanort who borrowed that power." What does this mean exactly? Am I the only one who has no idea what he's saying here? Could it be the translation that's making it more confusing that it actually is, because I'm not sure what he's trying to say? It seems like he's saying that they all gained the ability to time travel because the Robed Figure was Xehanort reduced to just a heart, but how does that make it so they all have the ability to time travel? Sora and Riku have both been reduced to just a heart before, but they can't just randomly time travel as they please, they need Yen Sid's magic in order to time travel. I thought that you actually need to be a heart while you're time travelling, because that's what Yen Sid said, but Nomura's making it sound like all you need to do in order to be able to time travel is you have to have been just a heart once in your lifetime. That seems way too OP. Plus, it completely contradicts what Yen Sid said. Since this is the case, it makes me believe that's not really what Nomura's saying here, so is there any other way to interpret what he's saying? EDIT: After doing some more digging, I found this in the KH Ultimania: "Discarded his body and became able to travel through time. Traveled back in time to the Destiny Islands and gave Young Xehanort some of his own power. Due to discarding his body and becoming the Robed Figure, all incarnations of Xehanort gained the ability to travel through time. However, the only ones actually able to do so were the Robed Figure and the one he had given his power to, Young Xehanort." I guess it sort of works like how Keyblades work. Just because you have the ability to wield a Keyblade, doesn't mean you have a Keyblade/doesn't mean you know how to summon a Keyblade.. Similarly, just because you have the ability to time travel, doesn't mean you can time travel/doesn't mean you know how to time travel. And what the game really meant by "the Robed Figure gave Young Xehanort the ability to travel through time" is "the Robed Figure shared some of his powers with Young Xehanort". So, it all makes sense...I guess? It "makes sense" in a very Kingdom Heartsy kind of way lol EDIT: Just found this interview with Nomura. What he says he throws me back into confusion: "Nomura: First off, when Young Xehanort made contact with the Brown Robed Figure, that is to say, the Xehanort who called himself Ansem, his abilities were transferred to him. As a result of Master Xehanort tossing his physical body, he was able to exceed time, and this power was carried into the Brown Robed Figure. Thus when Young Xehanort made contact with him, he gained this power. Possessing this power. Young Xehanort functioned as a “portal”, summoning Xemnas and Ansem each time they appeared. That’s why Young Xehanort was there whenever they appeared. Additionally, when Sora and Riku dropped into the worlds of sleep, simultaneously Young Xehanort himself goes into the world of sleep.' I have no idea what Nomura is saying at this point. I really really really hope this gets cleared up in KH3.

In this issue of Famitsu it was stated that the Master of Masters has eyes that can see into the future. Using this ability, he wrote the Book of Prophecies. What if the Master of Masters' eyes are yellow? Ya know, like Xehanort's eyes. What if these yellow eyes that Xehanort has allows him to see into the future? That would definitely explain how he has been such an amazing tactician and has been able to predict pretty much everything that has happened so far. He even majorly surprised Yen Sid that he was able to predict such insane things. In Dream Drop Distance, Young Xehanort and Sora had this conversation. Sora questions Young Xehanort how Xehanort knew that Sora would be on Destiny Islands for his Mark of Mastery in the Realm of Sleep on that exact day. Young Xehanort just replies with "Simple." which obviously is not an answer. I've always assumed that this would be answered in 2.8 or KH3, and I think I might've finally found my answer. Thoughts? EDIT: This theory has been debunked by Kingdom Hearts χ Back Cover.

Departure This land had seen many changes in the sky and it was destined to see many more, but on this particular night, Xehanort felt that the sky looked more vast and glorious than ever before. It could just have been the emotional significance of the moment, but as he gazed up into the deep reaches of the beyond, he didn’t think the world had ever shown him a more beautiful sky. Skies were full of promise, Xehanort knew. Skies were something every world had in common. Dividing them, but also connecting them. Skies themselves were the limitless containers of limited worlds and Xehanort had long since grown tired of limits. The time had come to go further than the sky; to trek beyond its reach. No matter how beautiful it was, Xehanort needed to do more than look at it. The stars were out, each of different shapes and sizes but ever twinkling and shining as they always did and perhaps always would. They were so far away but Xehanort also knew that these too were never out of reach. Xehanort felt himself tingle with anticipation, knowing that he was finally about to close the gap forever. He felt almost more free than he did the day he left his boyhood home. In some respects, he had just travelled from one prison to another, but he had done so without any knowledge of what lay beyond. This time, he was truly ready. And this time, he would be alone. Xehanort stepped forward and continued down the steps, heading directly out of the castle that he had called home for so many years. To leave this way was a little riskier but to leave any other way felt wrong. Xehanort was determined to leave the Land of Departure the way he’d entered it, even if nobody was there to see it. Xehanort respected this world and all that it had done for him. It was a dignified way to see it off. The only sounds to be heard were his own footsteps; the night was still. Xehanort reached the bottom of the stairs and continued to the centre of the large round courtyard where he came to a stop. He let the moment sink in and in many ways felt relieved that everything was over, but still there was a strong sense of nostalgia. He had an emotional attachment to this place that would hopefully go away with time. He looked up at the boundless sky once again and let out a long cathartic sigh. “Leaving without saying goodbye?” Xehanort spun around in surprise to see who had spoken, but somehow he had still expected this on some level. He knew the voice and the face he turned to look at was just as familiar. It was impressive that Xehanort hadn’t noticed him and he’d been certain that nobody would be out here at this time, but of course, here he was anyway. Eraqus. Xehanort had to correct himself; he was Master Eraqus now. It was a new title they both shared after a long time spent preparing for it. He was sitting on the wall at an edge of the courtyard, his hands resting beside him as he watched Xehanort from a distance. He hadn’t spoken loudly, but the stillness of the night allowed him to be heard clearly. He was a young man in a white tunic that contrasted Xehanort’s dark clothes. His hair was black and wavy where Xehanort’s was silver and sharp. His grey-blue eyes gazed into Xehanort’s golden ones and as they did, Xehanort felt more distant from his fellow pupil than he had ever done before. Xehanort lowered his gaze to the ground, trying to mask any sadness he felt with indifference. “My mind is made up,” he stated bluntly. “Now that both of us have become keyblade Masters and you have been named our Master’s successor, there is no reason for me to stay here.” He raised his eyes again and looked back at Eraqus once more with a colder look. “My future is out there.” Eraqus looked back at him quietly for a moment before he broke out into a soft chuckle and hopped off the wall. “I never said I was here to stop you,” he said kindly. “I’m asking why you’re leaving without saying goodbye.” Xehanort frowned with the faintest hint of embarrassment and looked away while he paused to give his next answer more carefully. “…What good would that do?” he asked vacantly. “Come on, Xehanort,” Eraqus frowned and stepped forward, out of the shadows. “Don’t you owe that to me? We’re friends, right?” Xehanort turned his head further away from Eraqus. A sad silence took over the conversation while Eraqus sighed. Xehanort didn’t know what the right thing to say was and part of the reason he’d tried to slip away was the fact that he didn’t care. Or perhaps he just didn’t want to care. After all, the hardest thing about having a bond was letting it go. The land that Xehanort had seen as both a home and a prison was one thing. His fellow prisoner was another. It was as if Eraqus could tell what Xehanort was feeling. “And here I thought you didn’t like things to be easy,” he teased, the smile back on his face as he moved back into Xehanort’s field of vision and stood in front of him. Xehanort raised his eyes again to look directly at him; the two former students facing each other directly. Both of them became suddenly aware of how serious this all was and a few seconds went by while they simply looked at each other. One look that conveyed a lot more than they likely would have with words. Xehanort could see in Eraqus what Eraqus could likely see in Xehanort: Their lives were about to become lonelier than either of them were used to. “The Master is going to miss you,” Eraqus said sadly. “I doubt that,” shrugged Xehanort. “Well, I’m going to miss you,” Eraqus smirked. “Yes,” Xehanort nodded slowly. “Though I can’t fathom why.” Eraqus laughed and then gestured over his shoulder, to the hills in the distance. “Come on, Xehanort,” he urged. “It’s our last chance. One more game?” Xehanort contemplated his offer and found himself unable to resist it. “All right” he responded, finally wearing a smile of his own. “One more game.” That was how the two of them later found themselves atop the hill where they used to train, on a flat area near the top where lampposts had been set up to light the surroundings at night. The night was no less still and the sky was no less clear, but all of that seemed so much less significant now. Xehanort and Eraqus were sitting beneath one of the lampposts, playing chess as they had done so before so many times. The game was still enjoyable and their usual conversation had been brisk, but even this had found itself amongst a certain stillness. Both men knew this would be the last time they would see each other in a long time, but neither of them knew how to make the moment count. It had been a while since either had spoken. Eventually, Xehanort broke the silence as he made his next move. “The Master was wise to select you as his successor,” he said quietly. “You were the right choice.” Eraqus glanced at him before returning his focus to the game. “Do you really think that lowly of yourself?” he asked while he contemplated. “No, you misunderstand,” answered Xehanort indifferently. “I don’t belong here. I need to explore and discover things for myself; I’ll never be satisfied without the answers. You were a more stable student than I, who could never live the way our Master did.” For a moment, something bristled in Xehanort involuntarily. It went unnoticed by Eraqus, but in that instant, Xehanort felt something he didn’t expect. Bitterness? Jealousy? Did a part of Xehanort want this life? Did a part of him resent his own heart’s longing for more? Xehanort couldn’t be sure. His ambition and curiosity almost defined him. How could he possibly resent that? What else could he want from himself? He regained focus and saw that Eraqus had already made his next move and was looking at him. “It’s because you always resisted the Master’s teachings,” he pointed out. “To be honest, I always thought you were better than me… At everything.” Xehanort looked at Eraqus in soft surprise; he’d never known Eraqus could feel that competitive towards him. Did Eraqus perhaps even look up to him? He was a couple of years younger than Xehanort, but that hadn’t made much of a difference in Xehanort’s mind. Still, if Xehanort was honest with himself, he’d always subconsciously felt somewhat superior to Eraqus as well. He chose not to say this and returned his attention to the chess board. “You were cleverer than me,” Eraqus went on, “more talented than me, stronger than me… You were the model student. You just couldn’t accept the Master’s teachings. It was your one flaw: You had to question everything. If you just had better judgement, it would have been you being named successor, not me.” Xehanort made his next move. “It is the role of a teacher to teach,” he responded evenly. “It is the role of a student to learn. You can’t learn anything if you never question what you’re being taught.” He straightened up, a sign that he was on the verge of a lecture. “I don’t think we should just accept that it’s our job to safeguard. Is that really all there is for us to learn? It’s too simple. There has to be more to this. More for us to do. More to see. Maybe there’s a way for us to make a difference to the state of the World. Find the truth amidst the legend. How can we do that by staying here as part of a stagnant cycle? That isn’t good enough.” Eraqus listened to him quietly while Xehanort spoke. In the game, Xehanort had him cornered with an excellent strategy and Eraqus was stuck. He was thinking very carefully about his next move while he let Xehanort talk. Moments of passion like this were rare, but they let Eraqus see a more thoughtful side to Xehanort and gave him much to think about. Xehanort stood up and held out his hand. There was a flash of light as a weapon appeared in his hand. It was metallic in an elaborate pattern with strange imagery etched across it. It stretched out like a sword with a round hilt enclosed around the handle where a chain dangled off the end of it. Xehanort’s keyblade. Most keyblades took a form that reflected their wielder’s heart, but the keyblades wielded by Master Xehanort and Master Eraqus were recently inherited ones. A parting gift, in Xehanort’s case. A piece of history to receive before he went out to make his own history. Xehanort held it up and examined it now. “The keyblade,” he continued. “Look at it. Feel it. What is its true purpose? What is its full story? To be a simple tool used to destroy darkness? It must be more than that. There has to be more to the story than what our Master has told us.” Now Eraqus stood up and there was an edge to his voice as he looked directly at Xehanort. “What if there isn’t, Xehanort? What if you’re wrong? What if you go out there and when you looking for answers, there aren’t any to find?” Xehanort looked back at him curiously. “It will still be better than staying here and never knowing for sure.” Eraqus scoffed and walked away a few paces before rounding on Xehanort again. “You don’t trust people! That’s your problem. You never talk about where you grew up even though there’s apparently nothing to tell and you won’t even give the one who taught you everything you know about the keyblade the benefit of the doubt when it comes to what you know about it.” “I never talk about where I grew up because there’s nothing to tell,” Xehanort replied with a hard voice. He let the keyblade vanish, deciding it would be wise to continue this conversation without it. “And the Master is wise. I am grateful to him, truly, but he cannot know everything there is to know and how will I know if he’s wrong about something unless I test what he’s taught?” “So what are you going to do?” Eraqus challenged him. “Turn to the darkness? Become the very thing we’ve been trained to stop? The Master warned us about these things for our own good!” “Did he!?” Xehanort challenged him back, anger slipping into his voice. “How do you know he’s trying to protect us and isn’t just too afraid of something he doesn’t understand? What if it’s something helpful? What if it’s something powerful? What if it’s something that could give us the whole truth?” Xehanort’s frustrations rose and suddenly he was almost shouting. “Why are you so afraid of the darkness!?” There was a long pause while the two young keyblade Masters stared each other down. Eraqus was taking his time before he gave his answer, allowing the two of them to calm down. The silence was deafening and Xehanort became aware of how loud his breathing was in contrast to it. How had he come this close to losing his composure? And more importantly, why? Looking straight into Xehanort’s eyes, Eraqus replied. “Because I’m afraid I’ll lose you to it,” he said sadly. Xehanort’s resolve melted. He lowered his gaze and turned away vacantly. He couldn’t get through to Eraqus’ absolutes and in his heart he could now see why Eraqus had them. Fear and love. It was an overwhelming pity and Xehanort felt shame for the differences between him and Eraqus. Xehanort had always scoffed at the proverb that “ignorance is bliss” having no greater disdain for anything other than ignorance, but he was faintly aware of a mild desire to know the bliss behind that phrase. To be someone who didn’t seek answers all the time. To be more like Eraqus. It could never be, of course. It wasn’t in his nature nor was it in his heart. Xehanort would always be a seeker of darkness while Eraqus would be more suited for the role of guardian of light. That’s the way things were. Right here, in this moment, Xehanort hoped with all his heart that this divergence in destiny would never divide the two of them more than it had been doing now. Xehanort moved vaguely back to the board and sat down. He needed to distract himself and saw almost immediately that Eraqus had only been pretending to be stuck. He’d already made his move that had not only accounted for Xehanort’s trap, but set up an excellent counter, leaving Xehanort low on options. Xehanort had never seen it coming. “I daresay you’ve become better at this,” Xehanort murmured. Eraqus returned to the board but didn’t sit down. He just smiled at Xehanort despite clearly having no joy to express. Xehanort merely reached forward and made the final move. “Stalemate,” he declared. “An unsatisfying conclusion to a never-ending battle. A fitting result for the end of my time here, wouldn’t you say?” Eraqus just stared at the board in disbelief, which made Xehanort almost want to grin. “Do you ever run out of contingency plans?” he asked with a smile. Xehanort shrugged. “I guess I’ll find out once I’m out there,” he surmised, looking up at the sky. “Speaking of which, I should probably go now.” Eraqus’ posture fell slightly but he made an effort to keep smiling. “Take care of yourself, Master Xehanort. You’re going to be a great Keyblade Master.” Xehanort looked at Eraqus fondly. “As will you, Master Eraqus.” He turned to go. “Wait, Xehanort.” Eraqus called to him. Xehanort stopped and turned his head, waiting to hear what he had to say. “Just tell me, just once. I need to hear it from you.” There was something strange in Eraqus’ voice. “We are friends, right?” Xehanort turned around to face him properly, surprise written across his face. He just looked at Eraqus, who nervously looked back. “I just…” Eraqus continued. “I can never really tell what you’re thinking or feeling and… We don’t see eye to eye on a lot of things and… you don’t…” he trailed off and saw Xehanort still staring at him in bewilderment. Eraqus sighed in frustration and walked over to Xehanort. Xehanort felt his wrist being taken as Eraqus pulled it up and put something in his hand. “It’s just a gift,” Eraqus told him. “A keepsake. Something for me to give you before you go. You don’t have to keep it; in fact, you can throw it away if you want. Maybe I’m not your friend, maybe you don’t even like me, but I’m just giving it to you because you’re my friend.” Eraqus smiled despondently. “You always have been.” Xehanort looked at the gift and felt himself gasp. It was a seashell. “Don’t ask me how I got it,” Eraqus told him, backing away slowly. “But I know that you came from a place with a beach and I figured I’d give you something to remember it by. Then again, you never seemed to miss your home, so I guess it was a dumb idea. I just thought if you ever wanted to look back instead of forward, you could…” he trailed off again and turned away. “Forget it.” He started to walk away. “No,” Xehanort said. “Huh?” Eraqus turned back to Xehanort in surprise. In that time, Xehanort closed the gap between them and had put a hand on Eraqus’ shoulder firmly. “No,” repeated Xehanort. “We aren’t friends.” Eraqus’ face fell and he gave a nod of affirmation, as though he had expected this. “Oh,” he said quietly. “I see.” Xehanort reached over with his other hand, placing it on Eraqus’ other shoulder and looked into his eyes. “You are my brother,” he told him. Eraqus’ eyes widened and his face froze as he registered what Xehanort had said. Xehanort smiled and spoke gently. “You are the only friend I have ever had and you will always be my little brother. If I haven’t done enough to show that, I am so sorry, but it will always be true. No matter how different we may be, no matter where we may go or what we may do or even how we may change, you will always be in my heart.” Xehanort let go of a stunned Eraqus and put a hand to the plate of armour on his shoulder. At once there was a flash of light and he became clad in his keyblade armour, covering him from head to toe. It was heavy and strong, offering protection from both physical blows and the darkness of the lanes between worlds that it was designed for. For now, Xehanort would continue to bear it to start his journey. He turned away and headed for the broken bridge. It had a few names among the residents of this world, but Xehanort and Eraqus had always known it as the broken bridge. It was a stone structure that jutted out from the hilltop before falling away to the ground before. The keyblade wielders in training would use it to practice summoning and using their keyblade gliders. How long ago that had been for Xehanort. It almost felt like his infancy. He walked to the edge of the broken bridge and gazed at the horizon. Now he was definitely ready. “Do yourself a favour and get some students!” Eraqus called to him as Xehanort summoned his keyblade. “If there’s one thing you’ll be good at, it’s teaching. Besides, you shouldn’t be too alone. Get someone to challenge you for a change! See how you like it!” Xehanort glanced back at Eraqus and saw he was grinning happily. Though Eraqus couldn’t see Xehanort’s face through his helmet, he smiled at his old friend one last time before opening a portal in the air and transforming his keyblade into the glider that would carry him through it. He had meant every word that he’d said. Even now he held Eraqus’ shell in his hand and clasped it tightly. He took one last look back at his brother pupil while he waved Xehanort off. “Goodbye,” Xehanort whispered. With his adrenaline pumping, he shot his glider forward into the pathway and departed the Land of Departure. He never looked back ever again. ------------- This is a short story I wrote for the giveaway contest. I always enjoy writing little bits and pieces and contests like this are fun opportunities to get creative. It's a story from Xehanort's perspective, which I tried to keep as accurate to the games and characters as possible. I tried to throw in little nods to the series as a whole with it but also try and accurately represent how an encounter like this might have gone. Xehanort is such an interesting character to write for, especially when exploring his emotional side, which would be more apparent in a younger less knowledgeable version of him. The relationship between him and Eraqus is as interestingly tragic as it is underdeveloped and I wanted to give their past together a little love. I hope you enjoy the story. ------- Xehanort Report 8 My brother pupil Eraqus thinks only in absolutes. He has persuaded himself that light is the only way, but forgets that light cannot exist without shadow. I believe a balance of light and darkness is what sustains our World, but too much of the darkness has been stamped out, disrupting that balance. Someone must tear down this tyranny of light and reorganize the World around the darkness which then creeps back in. Eraqus and I did not see eye to eye. I left, and wandered the World. This was perhaps the first time I felt truly free since that day I departed my boyhood home. But free to do what? I had already shown the Mark and become a Keyblade Master—but having been passed over as Successor, all that remained to me was the road of teacher. Ordinarily, Keyblade Masters take pupils under their wings, malleable minds in which to impress the precepts of the Keyblade wielder and keep our profession alive for generations to come. Was my time drawing to an end, then, after all I had accomplished since casting away the place of my birth? Surely waiting for a quiet death would not do, not when there was still so much I needed to see for myself. Powers help me, I thought, my body is so old…

Seeing as Master Xehanort's keyblade isn't his original one, do you think No Name is Xehanort's original keyblade, or at least what seems to be an upgraded version (akin to Stormfall being an evolution of Rainfell) meaning he was always associated with time, or is No Name a keychain that he found? If the latter, what do you think his original keyblade was like?

A continuation of the last theme I made for Xehanort but with additional parts (to represent multiple boss forms) and touched up sounds to make it sound over all better and more realistic. The Second segment was inspired by "Darkness of the Unknown". Hope you all enjoy.
