  1. So today TeamFourStar released a trailer for what appears to be their next abridge type series and it is in Final Fantasy VII and I have to say just by watching this trailer it looks like it is going to be amazing so give the trailer a watch it comes out September 3 and it will be on the teamfourstar website with a youtube release some time later most likely https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H4uTXObQofg
  2. Motomu Toriyama, the event planner incharge of a lot of the early game events revolving around Cloud & Aerth's romance including cross-dressing Cloud made the "Cloud showing off" pose, which was made to be be used in the scene where Cloud first appears in the game. This little animation impressed Kazushige Nojima, the game's scenario writer and lead to him determining Cloud's false persona based on that pose. Thanks to FF Wikia.
  3. Note:Everything written here is just my own personal opinion,it is not a fact,it's not something you're forced to accept and it's not supposed to be something that you'd be forced to agreedisagree with.So please I don't wanna see comments of *Grrrr you're posing your opinion as a fact grrr* or any of those overdefensive comments I get on my threads ok?Good Okay, his work on KH aside, may I remind people that Nomura directed the FFVII Advent Children movie and is responsible for Cloud's current character interpretation that started with KH1 and carried over to Advent Children and Dissidia I know people won't like what I'm gonna say but.....I hate Advent Children,I hate Advent Children so much Aside from the issue that what happens in this movie literally affect nothing in the FFVII universe heck not even Dirge of Cerberus reference what happened in this movie or the characters in it(Denzel's existence is absolutely pointless),this movie is the start of the whole popular misconception that Cloud is a brooding emo who never smiled or joked in his life. That's basically Nomura's interpretations of Cloud Strife If you played the original FFVII you'll remember the Cloud that cracks snarky jokes and makes fun of Barret, the Cloud that cross-dressed as a girl to sneak into Don Corneo's mansion, the Cloud that acted humorously in the Gold Saucer's theater play, the Cloud that, despite the firetrucked up shit he gone through still manages to be maintain his cool even in dire situations HE WASN'T THAT MONOTONE EMO THAT NOMURA MADE HIM TO BE WHO FOR SOME REASON FINDS THE GROUND CAPTIVATING IN HIS OFFICIAL ARTWORKS Even in Dissidia Cloud couldn't escape Nomura's brooding interpretation of him and before you tell me,yes I know Nomura designed FFVII's characters, but the concept and the scenario was all by both Kitase and Sakaguchi, ever since Nomura took over with Advent Children things were going downhill for Cloud and the extended FFVII compilation(And no Crisis Core wasn't directed by Nomura iirc) Which leads us to the topic at hand, like many others I was hyped beyond any simplence of belief that the remake was announced,I was so hyped ....until I saw two things 1 And I stated my reasons above and 2During interviews they stated that there're going to be changes to the STORY!This concerns me on so many levels....soooo many levels If they changed way too much in the story might as well end up looking like a reboot than a remake,I hope the changes are only minimal story-wise to make the game accurate to the additions that was added with Crisis Core and Before Crisis.I'm worried because since Kitase is no longer the director and Sakaguchi no longer being at Square for the scenario that Nomura might do as he pleases with this and shove his interpretation of Cloud into the game and cut stuff out that the fans liked from the original game both in story and gameplay(I swear if the Gold Saucer didn't have the mini-games or he omitted chocobo racingbreeding I'll be absolutely livid) Look,I'm not a Nomura hater by any means cuz I myself a fan of some of his works like Dissidia and the Kingdom Hearts series, but with how he directed Advent Children and the way he handled the handheld KH entries(and the existence of KH x(chi) in itself) just doesn't make me trust him enough as a director Also, one last personal wish of mine that people might not like,I wish that, once Tabata is done with FF XV that they'll put him in charge of the FFVII remake instead of Nomura later on And now,I'm fully ready for the accusations of forcing my opinion and defensive comments claiming that I shoved it as a fact down their throat when I really didn't
  4. Square Enix has confirmed the Final Fantasy VII port for PlayStation 4 is still coming, it has simply been delayed.
  5. Square Enix has announced Final Fantasy VII is coming soon to iOS devices. No word on an Android version yet.
  6. Final Fantasy VII has sold over 11 million copies worldwide.
  7. Siliconera is reporting a Final Fantasy VII remake is in development for PlayStation 4. Motomu Toriyama, an event planner on the original game would most likely be the director since he revealed that he will be revealing his new title in 2015 and Kitase is most likely the producer for his title again.
  8. Final Fantasy VII's PS4 port is being developed by DotEmu, the same dev who did the PC remasters for VII and VIII and have been porting the iOS/Android versions of III, IV and most likely Final Fantasy IV: The After Years to PC.
  9. Digital Spy asked the director of both games, Hajime Tabata if there were any plans to remaster the PlayStation Portable games, Crisis Core -Final Fantasy VII- or The 3rd Birthday. Sadly this is what he said. The 3rd Birthday is available on the PlayStation Store and as a result can be played on PlayStation Vita and PlayStation TV easily. Sadly, Crisis Core -Final Fantasy VII- is not available on the PlayStation Store due to licensing issues. As a result, Crisis Core can not be played on modern hardware and its platform was discontinued worldwide last year. Maybe if someone brought this up Tabata would re-consider.
  10. DIRGE of CERBERUS –FINAL FANTASY VII- is the sequel to the film, FINAL FANTASY VII: Advent Children. It expands upon the story of a side character, Vincent Valentine. Shedding a lot of light of what happened to him before the events of FINAL FANTASY VII and what occurs three years after the game. In a first for the JRPG series, this game is a third-person shooter. And as for how it holds up as a shooter, it’s a pretty good PlayStation 2 era shooter. It’s not the best shooter, but there aren't too many things to complain about. There’s a bit of customization you can do, but it’s really up to you if you want to dig deep into it. You can get through the game fine with only minimal adjustments. There are two difficulty modes in Normal and Hard. And you can unlock a third called Super Hard by completing the game. It’s slightly disappointing to see Easy removed in the English version. Speaking of, they made various changes from the Japanese version but the only one worth mentioning is the removal of multiplayer. The multiplayer missions have been changed to bonus missions which offer an additional challenge and something to do after you complete the game. You can re-watch all of game’s cutscenes in an Event Viewer, unfortunately you need to collect Memory Capsules in the main game to unlock them. Simply completing the game won’t suffice. You can also watch four Japanese trailers from Tokyo Game Show 2005 and Jump Festa 2006 among others. There’s also more extras to explore including an Art Gallery, Sound Gallery and Character Viewer. Common features in the series but uncommon on console titles so this is a nice touch. They have their content unlocked by completing requirements in the bonus missions I mentioned above. The story didn't really feel FINAL FANTASY VII-like a lot of the time. Some stuff didn't make sense, but that might only be due to the fact I've never actually played FINAL FANTASY VII. I've simply watched both versions of Advent Children and all the recap extras they included covering all the titles in the Compilation of FINAL FANTASY VII. The music’s nice, and the graphics are pretty good for PlayStation 2. The FMVs/CGI scenes look great for PS2. Something quite amusing about this game is that you can access your menu and even the game’s shop during boss battles. Sorry, Weiss but I'm going to open my menu and use a potion and now I’m going to the shop to buy some more potions. I'm guessing this was done so the fans who don’t play shooters could get through the game although really you had an Easy mode originally. I can see why this game got a mixed reception. There’s also some VERY LONG cutscenes. The final chapter was pretty epic until the final bosses and then it just downhill with the easiest final bosses ever. The game holds up quite well in 2014, even for someone who hasn't properly played a PS2 game in nearly two years. I was surprisingly able to enjoy the visuals despite being so used to PlayStation 3 graphics. All in all, DIRGE of CERBERUS -FINAL FANTASY VII- is a pretty good game that I had quite a bit of fun with. If you don’t like shooters I’d suggest not playing this game, you won’t be missing much in terms of story assuming they never do another FINAL FANTASY VII title. But if you like FINAL FANTASY and shooters this is a game I definitely recommend you play. It’s unlikely to get a full HD remaster and will most likely be released as a PS2 Classic at some point so you can either wait for that or just pick it up on PS2 now. I’d really like to see them having another attempt this era at developing a shooter for the FINAL FANTASY series. And if they do, hopefully they try multiplayer again as well. The game’s producer, Yoshinori Kitase loves shooters so hopefully he can be produce another one someday. 7/10
  11. Motomu Toriyama along with other directors and producers at Square Enix and other companies were interviewed by 4Gamer.net. Motomu Toriyama's piece stands out as he mentions his new title. “My next title is in well underway in development. We'll be able to announce it in 2015, so please look forward to it!” For those don't know, Toriyama has quietly built up a very impressive resume at Square Enix. He started off as an event planner on Final Fantasy VII before Yoshinori Kitase (the director of Final Fantasy VI, Final Fantasy VII & Final Fantasy VIII) selected him to be the new director inside Square Enix's #1 division. He would go on to direct Final Fantasy X, Final Fantasy X-2, Final Fantasy X-2: Last Mission, Final Fantasy XIII, Final Fantasy XIII-2 and Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy XIII. He also supervised Final Fantasy X/X-2 HD Remaster and directed Final Fantasy XII: Revenant Wings. If you hadn't noticed, that gives him the honour of having directed more Final Fantasy games than even the creator of the series, Hironobu Sakaguchi who directed Final Fantasy, Final Fantasy II, Final Fantasy III, Final Fantasy IV and Final Fantasy V. Hopefully we see this new title soon. Anyone want to put money on Final Fantasy X-3?
  12. Okay, really. What the heck, Square? There's no way you wouldn't have realized how much you'd piss off your fans with the set up you gave this trailer.
  13. Square Enix has announced the PlayStation 4 version of Final Fantasy VII will only be available as a digital download on the PlayStation Store and will cost U.S $15.99 / £12.99 / €15.99. Unfortunately, they have no information yet in regards to Australian pricing or PSN trophies.
  14. A port of the PC version of Final Fantasy VII is coming to PlayStation 4 in Spring 2015 (Autumn 2015 in southern countries). This is a HD remaster of the legendary game that sold over ten million copies on the PlayStation. And before everyone gets upset. Did all the Toriyama haters want him directing a VII remake? And the truth is now Square's #1 team is developing a NEW game for PS4 and likely Xbox One. Which I get the feeling is a sequel to VII.
  15. The director of the Kingdom Hearts series, Tetsuya Nomura has designed a Vincent Valentine themed T-shirt and bag for Halloween 2014. The design is a fully red image of Vincent on a back background. Vincent Valentine appeared in Final Fantasy VII, Final Fantasy VII Advent Children and his very own game, Dirge of Cerberus -Final Fantasy VII-. Cloud Strife's design in the first Kingdom Hearts game was based off Vincent Valentine as Vincent was originally considered instead of Cloud. The co-director of the Kingdom Hearts series, Tai Yasue also recently stated he'd like to see Vincent Valentine appear in a Kingdom Hearts title as well but explained you'd preferably have to see him come out of a coffin like a vampire. Would you like to see Vincent Valentine appear in a future Kingdom Hearts title? You can view pictures of the T-shirt and bag below.
  16. All versions of Final Fantasy X & Final Fantasy X-2 have now sold a combined 15.29 million copies worldwide not including digital. All versions of Final Fantasy VII, Dirge of Ceberus and Crisis Core have sold a combined 14.94 million copies worldwide not including digital. All numbers provided by VGChartz. Just for reference, X/X-2 HD Remaster was the top selling title on the PlayStation Store in March while FFVII is one of the highest downloaded emulated titles on the PlayStation Store while the PC version has also enjoyed strong sales. Let's hope both entries in the series have more in them left. Listening Kitase & Toriyama?
