There is pretty much zero chance of Final Fantasy XV releasing in 2015 now. Holiday 2015 line-up is officially crowded. Including two massive Square Enix games in Rise of the Tomb Raider and Just Cause 3. And this is before you consider all the other massive games coming Holiday 2015 including Star Wars Battlefront and most likely Uncharted 4.

With Kingdom Hearts III dropping the engine in favor of Unreal Engine 4 and a key person from the Luminous team leaving Square Enix there was speculation it could only be for Final Fantasy XV now but this is definitely not the case. Read what Akira Iwata, Senior Manager and Lead Artist in Advanced Technology Department said below. Read the interview here. Project Flare is also in development and it is expected to be used for Final Fantasy XVI.

Hajime Tabata has revealed in Taiwan that division 2 is getting help from Taiwanese developer XPEC to develop Final Fantasy XV. This is nothing new to the Final Fantasy series. Final Fantasy IX was partly developed in Hawaii while division 1 got help from tri-Ace for Final Fantasy XIII-2 and Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy XIII.

Hajime Tabata has told LevelUp that the Final Fantasy XV team is aiming to release Final Fantasy XV as a simultaneous worldwide release. Tabata explains that the team wants everyone to experience the game at the same time. Simultaneous releases are nothing new to the franchise with Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn launching worldwide on the same day for PC and PlayStation 3 and again for PlayStation 4. The iOS & Android releases of Final Fantasy, Final Fantasy II, Final Fantasy III, Final Fantasy IV, Final Fantasy V, Final Fantasy IV: The After Years and Final Fantasy VI were also all released on the same day worldwide. Single-player console titles have also been approaching this, with Final Fantasy XIII-2 released in the rest of the world a month after the Japanese release. Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy XIII and Final Fantasy X/X-2 HD Remaster however were to delayed to avoid clashing with the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One releases.
