Source code on the official website for the March FFXV event includes code for a PC/Steam release. Should come as no surprise. It's been expected since September 2014.

Did you know that KINGDOM HEARTS III did not switch engines because they were not able to get what they wanted with the Luminous Engine? Of course it is part of the reason since Nomura said so in an interview, but Square Enix actually did not want to let the Luminous Engine be used for any games besides FINAL FANTASY XV. According to the french website Final Fantasy World, Julien Merceron, a french technology director who helped with the development of the Luminous Engine, had to apply one of his rules before any other game was made with the technology Luminous provided. The rule states that a first game has to be completed with a certain technology before it can be used for other games. "The first game acts as a test" according to the Final Fantasy World article. Because of that, the Luminous Engine stayed exclusive to FINAL FANTASY XV and thus, games like KINGDOM HEARTS III or FINAL FANTASY VII REMAKE moved to the Unreal Engine to pursue their development. Once FINAL FANTASY XV is released,in 2016, more games could be developped with the Luminous engine. Here's the Final Fantasy World article (if you read french) http://www.ffworld.com/?rub=news&page=voir&id=3180

Recently this week Tabata himself released this statement Some people thought this to mean that the PC is never getting FFXV, but I would like to inform anyone who is panicking, and the console fanboys that hate the PC for some reason and PC gamers( even though assholes exist in all walks of life) All this statement means that their is not going to be PC port near the launch of the console, he is talking about when FFXV launches it will only debut on the consoles, not yet the PC, it only means PC Gamers like myself may have to wait a little while after the console versions before. This reasoning fits a previous statement He has also made similar statement in the past when back in Janurary when he was asked if Final Fantasy Type-0 HD(A game that is currently on Steam I might add, but at the time was only confirmed for Xbox One and PlayStation 4) Now you may be asking why does Square Enix do these things, why do they say they have no plans to release something on the PC, when it is confirmed for the PS4/XboxOne. Well it's simple people waited over 7 years for FFXV, SE wants to capitalize on that wait, on gamers in general remember PC Gamers like myself can own consoles(The only current gen console I own is the Wii U, and probably the only Next Gen console I will own is the Nintendo NX, but I might buy the PS5 or the Xbox Two). Square Enix knows that people don't want to wait any longer for FFXV, and if the game is playable 30fps locked, then people even PC Gamers will buy one of the console versions, then when they release a superior version on PC, and get people to buy it on Steam, so basically double dipping in an attempt to maximize profits(Which I guess works somewhat because timed exclusives exist) To sum it up, it's pretty much, very much, almost confirmed to come to PC, but it will be after the console versions.

I'm seeing that a lot on the internet so I'm bringing it here. SE Japan did a survey asking fans about Final Fantasy XV. The 47th question asked if P5 & FFXV came out at the same time, which would you get. Personally (lol) I would get Persona 5 because I'm more into that series than Final Fantasy. Also, realizing this now, that survey might affect when Final Fantasy XV is release and either delay or push up the release date next year. Source: Siliconera

Comments from the head of BD2 and director of FFXV, Hajime Tabata makes Moogle DLC seem likely.

In an interview with Hajime Tabata, director of Final Fantasy XV, he was asked hypothetically if there was a game he'd like to work on as a member of the staff and he said Personally, that sounds awesome! It can kinda be like with Hyrule Warriors, have Tabata direct the game while having Eji Aonuma supervise. Source: Gamnesia

My list for any Square Enix Ports in the future whether it be a FFXV port, or a KH3 port *Resolution past 1080p at least up to 4K *Unlocked Framerate seriously I absolutely hate it when my FPS is locked at 30FPS playable, but I still don't like it. *Texture configuration you know the basic Low-High-Ultra settings * Anti-Aliasing options you know FXAA, MSAA , MSAA x(whatever) * Good SLI Scaling a three way SLI/CrossFire shouldn't be getting less FPS than a two way CrossFire/SLI of the same card. *DirectX12/Vulkan Support What is your guys lists

As some of you may be aware, Square Enix is using visual motion capture to use in making the characters of FINAL FANTASY XV not only feel more alive, but personal. Square recently released a pdf of the presentation used at CEDEC 2015. It contains a ton of information on the visual works motion capture. You can find the pdf here, however note it is in Japanese primarily. Credit here
