In an interview with Siliconera at San Diego Comic-Con, Tetsuya Nomura, director of the Kingdom Hearts series has revealed that his new Batman design shown off at San Diego Comic-Con International 2014 was actually from a very old cancelled video game project, could have influenced armor design in Kingdom Hearts armor. This quote is below. Nomura ended the interview by mentioning that he would love for figurines of the lead characters from Kingdom Hearts Birth by Sleep to be created.   4. Update: The full track list for Yoko Shimomura's upcoming compilation album, memória! has been announced. The only songs from the Kingdom Hearts series are Vector to the Heavens and Dearly Beloved which can be sampled on the soundtrack's official website. The album releases on March 26, 2014. Square Enix have updated the official website for Yoko Shimomura's upcoming compilation album, memória!, with a selection of tracks to be included on the album. This update confirms that Vector to the Heavens will be one of the tracks included in the album, and a sample of the song's new remix can be heard playing in the website's background. Other tracks from the Kingdom Hearts series are expected to be announced later on.

  7. Square Enix have announced a new compilation album by Yoko Shimomura, the composer of the Kingdom Hearts series. The album is called memória!, and will contain tracks from the Kingdom Hearts series, along with other Square Enix games that she has composed for. Memória will release on March 26, 2014.

Earlier in the year, we reported that South Korean publication INews24 had announced that a South Korean game studio, "Studio EX", was working on something that they referred to as "Kingdom Hearts online game"-- an official Kingdom Hearts title for both smartphones and the web. At the time, we assumed that this was referring to the then upcoming Kingdom Hearts χ[chi]. However, Kingdom Hearts χ[chi] was later confirmed to be developed by Success Corporation in Japan. So, what is the "Kingdom Hearts online game" developed by Studio EX? Today, departing Disney executive John Pleasants had an interview with WSJ, confirming the game's existance. John Pleasants: We have a studio in Seoul working on “Kingdom Hearts Online.” Looks like this title is different to Kingdom Hearts χ[chi], and is still in development!

  10. A few days ago, we asked who your favourite Kingdom Hearts character was. The winners of this have been announced, and this can be seen at our forum. However, now we come to you with a different question. What is your favourite world in Kingdom Hearts? Similar to characters, worlds play a large role in the Kingdom Hearts series. Many original and Disney-based worlds exist in the series, with quite a few occurring in multiple games across the series. So, what is your favourite world and why? The best responses will be picked out and featured. Update 2: Amazon.co.jp have created listings for the Kingdom Hearts Character Straps, revealing that they will be released on December 27, 2013.   13. There are only hours until Tokyo Game Show 2013 officially begins! For some of you, this means that the event is today. A countdown clock below shows the exact amount of time until the doors open at TGS. Tokyo Game Show 2013 has begun! Coverage will begin in a few minutes. So, what can we expect from the event? Kingdom Hearts III? Kingdom Hearts III was officially announced at E3 2013. Here, series director Tetsuya Nomura mentioned that the next time new KH3 info was shown, it might either be at TGS 2013 (today), or at D23 Expo Japan (October 12). Later, Kingdom Hearts III was listed in a press release for TGS 2013, seemingly confirming KH3's appearance at the event. Final Fantasy XV also appears in this list, however, and Nomura has since confirmed that the game will not have any new information at TGS. KH3 is also missing from Square's official TGS 2013 website. It is currently unknown if KH3 will appear at the event or not, or to what degree. Kingdom Hearts HD 2.5 ReMIX? Last year at Tokyo Game Show 2012, Square Enix announced Kingdom Hearts HD 1.5 ReMIX. Since then, Nomura has hinted multiple times at a probable Kingdom Hearts HD 2.5 ReMIX-- but nothing has been confirmed yet. It makes sense that Square would announce 2.5 at Tokyo Game Show 2013, but for the moment, this is just speculation. Kingdom Hearts χ[chi] Kingdom Hearts χ[chi] is absolutely confirmed to appear at Tokyo Game Show 2013. Kingdom Hearts χ[chi] is included in the TGS 2013 press release, and a page for it even appears on Square Enix's TGS 2013 website. It is unknown what will be shown for Kingdom Hearts χ[chi], but the website indicates there will be a video. Not long now until Tokyo Game Show 2013! Stay tuned for KH13's in-depth coverage later.

  15. Hidemi Matsuzuka has revealed that a special Kingdom Hearts themed pencilcase is being produced. Hidemi uploaded a photo of the pencilcase to his Twitter, and this photo can be seen below. Update 1: Hidemi Matsuzuka has shared new images of the pencilcase and accessory pouch, and these can be viewed below. Square Enix have also updated the e-STORE listings of both items (accessory pouch | pencilcase), revealing that both will be released on August 31, 2013. The accessory pouch will be ¥2,200 (approximately US$21.29), while the pencilcase will be ¥1,800 (approximately US$17.42). Thanks go to aibo_ac7 and Weiss from KH13 for the find. Update 2: The release date of both items has been delayed to November 15, 2013.

Hidemi Matsuzuka, the merchandise manager at Square Enix, has revealed new photos of new pieces of official Kingdom Hearts merchandise-- a keychain of Cloud, Sora, Donald Duck and Riku from the first Kingdom Hearts. No details are known about these keychains yet, however, photos of the items can be seen below. Update: Matsuzuka has uploaded more keychain photos, and the post has been updated with these additions.
  17. Today, Walt Disney Company Japan announced that they will stage the first ever "D23 Expo Japan", a special event created by D23: The Official Disney Fan Club. This event will feature various presentations, including (as revealed on Disney Japan's website) a Kingdom Hearts presentation known as "Kingdom Hearts Fun Event". The producer of the series, Shinji Hashimoto, will be attending, as well as many Japanese voice actors from the series. The event is said to contain a lot of content, and reveal behind-the-scenes exclusive information. Look forward to D23 Expo Japan, which occurs from October 12 to 14, 2013! Update 1: A blog post on Message from the KINGDOM has revealed that in addition to Shinji Hashimoto and various voice actors, director of the Kingdom Hearts series Tetsuya Nomura will also be attending D23 Expo. Update 2: Disney Japan have announced that special Kingdom Hearts figurines will be auctioned off at the event. The figurine was used as a character modelling reference during the development of the first Kingdom Hearts. A photo of this figurine can be seen below. Update 3: Miyu Irino (voice of Sora & Vanitas), Mamoru Miyano (voice of Riku) and Kouki Uchiyama (voice of Roxas & Ventus) will all be attending the event. Thanks to @aibo_ac7 for the tip.

Several enemies from the Kingdom Hearts series will be released for the first time as figurines. @hidemi_mad_dog has shared photos of these new figurines, which include the Shadow Heartless, the Flood Unversed, and the Meowjesty Dream Eater.   19. Square Enix Gangan, the creators of the Kingdom Hearts manga series, have uploaded a wallpaper celebrating the 10th anniversary of the Kingdom Hearts series. The wallpaper serves as a calendar for July 2013, and part of August 2013. You can view it below in our gallery, in all available resolutions.

  21. In February, GameTrailers teased an upcoming unofficial "Kingdom Hearts Timeline" video. This is the second video in GameTrailers' timeline series, which goes into great depths in explaining the story of a video game series. Today, GameTrailers have finally released the full video-- 52 minutes long, this video explains the story of the whole Kingdom Hearts series, and finishes up by speculating about Kingdom Hearts III. We wouldn't normally post a news article about an unofficial video, but we felt that this was so well-made that it would be worth sharing with everyone. Enjoy!
  22. The Kingdom Hearts manga adaptation by Shiro Amano originally begun with the Kingdom Hearts manga in Japan in 2003, and continues to this day. Originally, Tokyopop were in charge of localising the manga and releasing it in North America, however, in 2011 Tokyopop shut down and was unable to continue. This left the Kingdom Hearts manga localisation in a state of limbo... but not anymore! Yen Press announced today that they have secured the rights to the localisation of the Kingdom Hearts manga. Yen Press will release the Kingdom Hearts Final Mix manga in two volumes starting May 2014, release Chain of Memories in one large volume in June 2014, and will begun publishing the Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days manga in North America in November 2013. Yen Press noted that in addition to these games, they have also secured the rights to the Kingdom Hearts II manga. Look forward to these official releases later on! Update 1: The Yen Press@Scon13 transcript has revealed more information about this future localisation, while contradicting some of the dates from AnimeNewsNetwork. The transcript states that both volumes of the Kingdom Hearts Final Mix manga will release in May 2013, with Chain of Memories following in June 2013, and Kingdom Hearts II following in August 2013. This is said to be followed by art books, and the 358/2 Days manga in Fall 2013. They later clarified that 358/2 Days will first be released in January 2014, with a possible earlier release in November. Thanks go to Weiss from KH13 for the find.   24. Japan Expo 2013 is a convention on Japanese popular culture, taking place in Paris, France from July 4 to July 7, 2013. Square Enix France have announced via Facebook that the Kingdom Hearts series will make an appearance at the event. Shinji Hashimoto, executive producer, and Yoko Shimomura, composer of the series, will both be attending the event. Last year, Kingdom Hearts 3D [Dream Drop Distance] appeared with a playable demo, making it likely that Kingdom Hearts HD 1.5 ReMIX might appear at this year's event.
