Hey guys. So I'm at work right now (don't judge me; it's insanely dead and I'm suuuuuuper bored) and I was just browsing on the Kingdom Hearts wiki to pass the time when I learned something interesting. Apparently both Ava and Luxu from KHUX both have names derived from the latin words for two of the seven deadly sins (greed and lust, respectively). This intrigued me, and after I did some digging I learned that all of the Master of Master's apprentices have names like this: Invi is envy, Aced is sloth, Ira is wrath, and Gula is gluttony. Even more interesting is that apparently each foreteller's union has an animal that is associated with each sin (with the exception of Gula for some reason). This blew my mind, and I immediately suspected that the Master of Masters' true name must be derived from the latin word for pride, because that is the only sin missing here. This got me thinking: do Sora and his friends mirror this trope? Maybe each guardian of light will represent a different deadly sin like the foretellers. What do you guys think? Have you noticed any other symbolism in the series? Do you think this will be expanded upon in Kingdom Hearts III, or do you think it's just kind of a cool connection?

Looking at the new box art thread I noticed that the NA and EU ones are pretty much completely different! These games are over a decade old and we're still learning new things about them. EU Box Art: NA Box Art I think I prefer the eerie feeling of the NA one for KH1, but EU KH2 is hands down my fave. Did Australia and Japan have different covers too? Please let me know

Again Diamond Dust is still one of the best keyblades in this game. Too bad Ice Titan is a rough battle to get through to get it.

Hi there! So, I'm super new to forums, so I figured I'd start with what I know best—that being, art! :tongue: As a forewarning, some of my art contains spoilers for The World Ends with You. If you've yet to beat TWEWY, or are planning to play it, please don't look! This first illustration was done for the 16th KH anniversary, and it's also a tribute to my dream KHUX medal. Just when you thought Riku's KH1 outfit couldn't get any worse, they went and made it green and yellow. I love my unfashionable son. Next is a picture of Kairi holding the broken Way to Dawn. The Don't Think Twice trailer made me really emotional. This next one's a portrait of Riku in Shibuya, since I'm really hoping to see our TWEWY friends again! I drew another picture to accompany the one above, but since it contains end-game spoilers for TWEWY, here's a warning to STOP YA SCROLLIN'. If you plan on playing TWEWY, don't look! I promise, it's something you won't want spoiled. Since Riku and Shiki are my Square Enix faves, I was super excited when they met in KH3D. I think they could be really good friends, given both their respective characters arcs. "A good friend sees you for who you are, no matter what face you wear." So, I’m finally playing Final Mix on my ps4, doing my old trick in never land hitting the rare truffles. When suddenly I suck at it (and I’ve done it for years now), and Sora just keeps knocking him further away..... it’s quite frustrating and I can only imagine it’s because of the 60fps. Anyone got any tips?

Hi, I'm new to the forum and this is my first topic created. I have a question for those who still have a copy of the original Kingdom Hearts Ultimania (Japanese)... You see, I have a copy of it (along with the revised edition) and I've been trying to figure out the translations for all of the enemy and boss attacks in the game for a while now. Some of the translations I do know: exa: Large Body -なぎ払い攻撃 - Mow-Down Attack -ボディアタック - Body Attack -突進 - Rush -ジャンピング衝撃波 - Jumping Shockwave But all the other ones, I have absolutely no idea. If anyone out there has a copy of the Ultimania, and knows Japanese, I would greatly appreciate the help.

Which Kingdom Hearts games(s) did you have to use a guide for?

Hey there guys. I'm a longtime reader, former member of the KH13 community and game blogger. I'm looking to engage more with the fandoms of the games I write about and hopefully drum up some interest in my blog. A little while back I started a series of articles on how islands are used as settings in games, largely because I was born and raised on an island. For the second article I examined how islands are used as the introductions to games, and so focussed heavily on Destiny Islands (as well as a few islands from Zelda: Wind Waker). this is a question i have had for a good while and i have heard no discussion even surrounding it. what i am asking is when the kh 1.5 collection was made did square enix recreate all of kh1 cut-scenes(aside from cgi beginning and ending). if you are unfamiliar why something like this would even happen and it does not concern the later games it is because mentioned in some interviews square had lost the original file or disk or whatever you want to call the Original kingdom hearts.they had to use a retail copy from what i understand and remake the games from there. so what i am asking is if anyone can conform or deny this as if you compare footage from the ps2 and (ps3,ps4) some camera angles in cut-scenes look slightly and i mean slightly different and on the first scene on destiny islands there is a cut that was completely skipped in the remaster. so please if anyone can give me a yes or no and i would like some feedback or your opinion on this situation here 2 videos to compare the cut-scenes for a good example look at the first cut-scene at destiny islands https://youtu.be/8nZKnQ85G0Q https://youtu.be/7QFYcuzRHSI also can someone tell me how i put the video on the page

This is just something i was kinda thinking about and its obviously not true but what if at the beginning of KH1 on Destiny Islands when Sora found the mushrooms the contact with them actually induced a really long vivid drug trip. Like at one point in the secret cave you get a mushroom and you see the man in the cloak for the first time. It all adds up! Lol and Xehanort went back in time to plant them there on Destiny Islands

Just wondering what Kingdom Hearts game you guys are playing the most right now? Im really all over the place truly, but KH1 or Kh2 are always in rotation for me, but i am also playing Dream Drop Distance, Chain of Memories, BBS, and Recoded lol along with the mobile game there really is so much kingdom hearts content I love it.

Final Fantasy X/X2 had a rerelease for the ps4, and gave players the option to select the original or the remastered soundtrack. So should Kingdom hearts HD 1.5+2.5 ReMix do the same for Kingdom Hearts 1 and 2?

Hi my name is TD Twilight and im working on starting up a kingdom hearts based youtube channel right now. Im gonna be doig a lot of videos on countdowns, discussions and news. But i wanted to come to the KH13 community to see if theres anything you guys are really trying to have discussed. Also, I am working on a way to make the kingdom hearts series somewhat competitive, one of the aspects i want to implement into the website that will eventually transpire is a ranking system of sorts and high scores so everyone can compare their scores across different things in different kingdom hearts games, like best minigame times, highest colliseum score and more. I just am wondering what some of your suggestions would be AND what kind of content do you want to see most? Wanted to bring this up because so many people are in love with the idea of Sora and Kairi being a couple, but I honestly don't see it. At all. And it's not because "KH isn't a romantic game (which it really isn't, but that's besides the point)", but because I cannot, for the life of me, see the two together. I think this is partially due to Kairi's lack of screen time and character development; as such, we really don't see much interaction between Sora and Kairi. People kinda assume that the two would be a couple because "wow, main male character and main female character = madly in love couple", but that's not enough for me. The game never shows me explicitly why they should be good together. Sure, in KH1, Kairi saves Sora from submitting to the darkness. Unfortunately, much of that seen is bogged down by the fact that we don't know much about Kairi at all even up to that point in the game, so it's just kind of like...a random girl saves the main character. Now I'm not saying that's a bad scene or anything, but just think about how much more emotional it would've been IF the game had established a powerful relationship between the two at the beginning! If the game had shown me that they were excellent friends (and not just tell me; there's a difference) perhaps through increased interaction or character development as the story goes on, I would've cared more. So that's the inherent problem I have with this "couple." They don't actually SHOW that they're good friends, so I can't see the two ever getting together. Kairi has basically no personality, even after all these games. She's barely gotten any screen time in comparison to the other main characters, and the most we've seen her interact with Sora is at the very beginning of KH1...which is not enough. Although that being said, I can already see the arguments coming: "They show a lot of character! For example, ________" The problem with that is that all of these scenes that you list is the game TELLING me, "Hey. These two are good friends.", and not SHOWING me that they're friends. Drawing on cave rocks? Telling me, not showing me. Sora's desperation to find her? That's sweet and all, but he gets sidetracked so often and forgets about his ultimate "goal" that it doesn't even seem that realistic. Kairi sending that letter in a bottle? That's the game pretty much telling me, "HEY IDIOT. THIS GIRL CARES ABOUT SORA. YOU BETTER BELIEVE IT." How do you establish a strong friendship? You imply it through the way the characters interact, develop along with each other, and most of all, have a lot of screen time together. Especially with Kairi's little screen time and basically zero character development, I don't see them becoming a couple at all. If KH3 wants to make them a couple, they better do some serious renovations on Kairi's character, or else it will turn out fake and unrealistic. Discussion welcome PS. No, I do not ship Sora and Riku, but honestly the two are more realistic as a couple than Sora and Kairi at this point.
