  1. Gameblog, a French website was given the chance to interview Tetsuya Nomura, director of the Kingdom Hearts series. During the interview, Nomura discussed that the development of Kingdom Hearts III is at a relatively advanced level and that the development of Final Fantasy VII Remake will not effect the development of Kingdom Hearts III as they are being developed by two separate teams. You can view an unofficial translation of Nomura's answer regarding Kingdom Hearts III's development below thanks to KH13 user Sora-. Click here to view the article
  2. I need more time to study the gloves, but I think I did good everywhere else. What are your thoughts?
  3. In the , we saw some of the magic and abilities that Sora, Donald, and Goofy have to offer. We're going to take a closer look to see what those abilities are! As soon as the conversation between Young Xehanort and Young Eraqus ends, we see Sora climb over a ledge to continue forward. With a quick eye, you can see some sparkles right before Sora reaches the ledge. We can assume that this means Sora can't regularly jump over it, so he has to use a certain ability to get over it. After encountering the new water-type Heartless in this world, we see Sora casting multiple Fire spells on the enemies and casting a large Fire spell after doing an air-combo. The Fire was most likely used as a Finisher. With the battle between the flying Heartless enemies, Fire was used off-screen, so we can assume that it was Donald who used it. When Sora and the group encounter the new Gladiator-type Heartless, it appears that Sora, Donald, and Goofy are using a Trinity version of the Goofy Charge, and they use it against the Heartless. In the next scene, we see Sora running up a wall and heading toward the Rock Titan with rocks falling toward him. Sora is using the new ability called "free run". Once Sora reaches the top of the cliff, Sora moves from the feet of the Rock Titan to the head area. After an attack on the foot of the Titan, Sora summons the Big Magic Mountain attraction that we saw in the , and her starts to attack the Titan. After Sora and the gang reach the Tangled world, with Sora donning his new clothes, they're faced against dandelion-like Heartless, and Sora uses an Aero spell as an offensive attack. Soon after that, Sora uses a Keyblade Transformation and transforms his new Keyblade, which looks like the Keyblade many people saw at the Kingdom Hearts HD 2.5 ReMIX launch party, into the Two Shot Blaster, and then into a large cannon. The next scene shows Sora once again using Aero spells, but moving at the same time. Next, we see Sora summoning the Pirate Ship and defeating the Heartless in the world. In Twilight Town, Sora uses Blizzard and slides on the trail it left, into a Blizzard jump-pad, and Sora comes down using the Two Shot Blaster and, we're assuming, Blizzard. In the same scene, Sora bounces off the wall, where the covered up hole is, and attacks the Big Body similarly to how Sora attacks in Dream Drop Distance with Flowmotion. Still in Twilight Town, Sora summons three giant Teacups, similar to the Mad Tea Party ride in the Magic Kingdom theme park, and Sora, Donald, and Goofy are inside of them spinning until they come together to use a Finish. Lastly, Sora transforms his Keyblade, that seems to be obtained from the Hercules world, from a giant sword, to a shield, to chariot with Pegasus leading it while lightning strikes the enemies. So what do you think of our analysis? And if we missed anything, please tell us in the comments below!

  5. After showing the trailer for , Shinji Hasimoto (executive producer of Kingdom Hearts series) says [according to translator] “Ok moving along; I’d like to discuss the title I think we’ve all been waiting for! Kingdom Hearts III!” The KHIII logo, Donald, Goofy and Sora in his new black and red outfit appear on the screen behind him. “But rather than having me talk about it, I thought it’d be much better if we watched actual footage of the game!” Gregg Holman (Vice President of Worldwide Marketing and Franchise Management) and Roy Conli (Disney producer of Treasure Planet, Tangled, Big Hero 6 and more) before Hasimto says [according to translator] “So without any further ado, here’s the world premier of the latest footage from Kingdom Hearts III!” Then the began… HERCULES WORLDCuts to Sora is in his KHII outfit (even after the new outfit was revealed) running and jumping through some sunlit mountain scenery and comes across water themed Heartless (using bubbles and rainclouds for attacks). There are some olympic pillars, trees and statues which have the disney drawing style of the Hercules film, so was fair to assume at this stage that Sora was in the world of Hercules. Later there are Heartless (looking like flying monkeys and bulls) which seem to have ‘clothing’ resembling to the ‘Hercules’ style and then the Rock Titan appears making it more evident that this is the Hercules world. Meanwhile Sora is fighting with Keyblade, using fire spells, and at one point Sora, Donald and Goofy combine to perform a charging attack with Goofy’s shield at the front which turns fiery as they impact the Heartless. In the , the Rock Titan and general mountain surroundings were featured (so we already knew about this film’s incorporation), but now we have more insight as to what the Hercules world would look like (the resemblance to the disney style, the massive scale of the world/enemies and effects of the Unreal Engine 4! When the Rock Titan is attacking, Sora runs up an almost vertical mountain side while dodging rocks being thrown. It cuts to Sora at the Titan’s foot when a luminous blue light surrounds Sora as he jumps up the Rock Titan (almost like Flowmotion in Dream Drop Distance). It cuts to Sora hitting the Titan’s foot with the Keyblade making the foot ‘crack’ to show lava. Sora then lifts his Keyblade up to summon a luminous steam-train; the same one we again, but this time with more detail/colour on the train and more realistic gameplay (targeting and hitting through the Titan’s hand). TANGLED WORLD We then see Sora walk from a cave with Donald and Goofy in his new outfit which is mainly black and red (if it’s like a drive form or his permanent outfit we are not sure as the KHII outfit appeared as well). It then cuts to show Sora looking at Rapunzel’s tower confirming the fact that a world based on “Tangled” will be in KHIII! This is the first time a world based on a 3D animated film, has been incorporated in the Kingdom Hearts franchise and looks almost identical to film. Flower-like Heartless then start to appear, one of which acts like a dandelion to create more small heartless. Sora uses a wind like spell and jumps into the air splitting his Keyblade in two and transforming it into guns (seen in the and HD 2.5 ReMIX launch event trailers) firing blue beams at the Heartless. It then transforms into a massive gun, shooting multiple shots in the one go and finishing with a large shot. Sora then raises his Keyblade to perform the same movement like the steam-train summon; this looks like how Sora will usually do these special moves. This time he jumps in the air, falls through the ground like water and then a pirate ship (like in ) splashes out of the ground spinning to destroy the Heartless. It is also looks more vibrant and colourful, but only last a few seconds and disappears into shimmers of light. TWILIGHT TOWN We then cut to Sora, Donald and Goofy running through Twilight Town where the hole which leads to the Mansion is (like in the and ). Sora performs a Blizzard spell at Shadows, Soldiers and Large Body Heartless (from the first Kingdom Hearts game) then jumps in the air and spirals down (with blue light twirling around) onto the Heartless. Sora bounces off the wall and twirls round Heartless (like Flowmotion in Dream Drop Distance). Sora once again raises his Keyblade and summons three luminous tee-cups for him, Donald and Goofy to spin in while hitting the Heartless. The three then combine and twirl around together to perform a final attack. Sora transforms his Keyblade into an orange and yellow weapon with lightning coming from it. It then twirls about and transforms into a white pegasus and chariot throwing out lightning bolts at the Heartless as it rides about in mid-air. Perhaps this is a summon acquired from Hercules’ world (like Genie from Agrabah) CABLE TOWN LIBRARY/STUDY We then cut back to Xehanort and Eraqus continuing their game of chess and their conversation. Meanwhile we see a fireplace with the Keyblade mounted on the wall above it when young Xehanort looks at it; this Keyblade is used by Master Xehanort in Birth by Sleep and Dream Drop Distance, and in the young Xehanort says to Braig, “But of all the Keyblades in existence, Master Xehanort's is the most ancient.” We then see Xehanort and Eraqus’ faces as they talk and it ends by showing a white and black chess piece next to each other signifying the two sides; light and dark. The final dialogue is below: The Kingdom Hearts III logo appears, followed by “Now in Development” to conclude the trailer! Hasimoto said afterwards, “So what do you think?” What do you think of the Unreal Engine 4 graphics? Now that Hercules, Twilight Town and Tangled are confirmed, what other worlds do you think will be in KHIII? What do you think of young Xehanort and young Eraqus? What did you like the best: flowmotion, enhanced magic, new outfit, disney attraction summons/other summons, or Keybalde transformations? What are your analysis’s of the trailer? 7. The latest issue of Famitsu Weekly magazine has included an interview with Tetsuya Nomura, director of the Kingdom Hearts series. While the interview focuses on other Square Enix projects, mostly Dissidia Final Fantasy, Nomura has mentioned that the Kingdom Hearts series will be expanding to smartphones and he has more announcements coming soon. In addition development is progressing well for Kingdom Hearts III and they will be able to reveal more soon. Thanks go to blog.esuteru.com for writing it up, @aibo_ac7 for summarizing it and goldpanner for translating it. The full translation of the interview summary can be read below.

  9. Okay, so I wanted to make a list of expectations and as well as a prediction on what's to come, just so I can be like, HA I WAS RIGHT! when it comes out or DAMN IT.... I SUCK AT PREDICTIONS. Anyways, it's been on my mind lately and I wanted to post it to see if anyone agrees or finds the ideas humorous, interesting, profound, or if you really disagree (and are a douche ), not so well thought out lol. Okay, before I start out, I'd like to put up some themes that I believe will be the whole basis for the game. Hearts sleeping in sadness Finding one's self, an identity one can call their own Okay, now that that's established, let's begin. Now we all know that Sora and company will be searching for the Key to Return Hearts and Riku/Mickey will be looking for Keyblade wielders, but what is the point of going through different worlds? Wouldn't it just be a wild goose chase if that were to happen in KH3? I mean KH2's world visiting was almost completely pointless, other than killing Xaldin. There wasn't much plot in the worlds, unlike in KH1 where Sora was sealing keyholes, BbS where they all had a reason to go out and explore and 3D, which was about keyholes again. So, how do we make sense of visiting worlds? Riku/Mickey are looking for Keyblade wielders, so they could have leads or are searching for new people strong enough to wield one. Sora and company have no reason to visit random worlds, unless Yen Sid just gave them a list of worlds that could potentially lead them to the Key to Return Hearts, which would be a basic cop out. I'm unsure how Nomura will do this without repeating the unneeded world visits from KH2 Things that I believe will happen: Sora is looking for this key right? So, during his journey, he will meet those who are also sleeping in sadness, which reaffirm his beliefs and possibly lead him closer to this key. Riku, who has found himself completely, after the events of 3D, will also meet those who don't have identities of their own, lack a sense of belongingness, etc. Regardless of who meets who, I truly believe these are the set of worlds and I'll get to reason after. My Worlds for KH3 (Keep in mind, these are just made up names for the worlds): Disney World(s)Gamer Central Station (Wreck It Ralph) Gleaming Kingdom (Tangled) Hawaii? (Lilo N' Stitch) Monstropolis (Monster's Inc/University) Andy's Room (Toy Story) Agrabah (Aladdin and the King of Thieves) Underland (Alice in Wonderland [2010]) The West (The Lone Ranger) City of Lights (Enchanted) Treasure Planet (Treasure Planet) Disney Castle/Town Square World(s)Shibuya (The World Ends With You) Original KH World(s)Destiny Islands Twilight Town/Mysterious Tower (I think they will be paired up again, just cause I want to add more worlds) Radiant Garden Castle Oblivion/Land of Departure Keyblade Graveyard While I know the general rule for the numbered/main titles are 13, I included all the ones I think have a chance at being used. Now why did I pick these worlds (save the KH worlds)? The characters that inhabit these worlds all have similar problems. Trying to find a sense of place. Identity crisis. Sleeping in sadness. Trying to stand up for one's beliefs. If you want me to go into further detail: Wreck It Ralph - Ralph and Vanellope are both outcasted by their society. They lack a place to call their own, yet they have never done anything wrong, really. They just want to be recognized as a real character, rather than be ignored and hated by their peers. Tangled - Flynn Rider is a thief. He has convinced himself that happiness lies in money and his old identity, Eugene Fitzherbert, isn't worthy enough. Rapunzel has been kidnapped and lives in a tower. She longs to explore and discover the outside world, to see the floating lanterns gleaming in the sky. Little does she know, those lead to her true identity. Lilo N' Stitch - Stitch has been created to be a destroying a machine, but he wasn't ever given a chance to prove otherwise. He's forced to escape to an unknown place and hopefully find peace in it. Lilo struggles with Nani to prove herself capable. Monster's Inc/University - Either movie will do in my opinion, since both are trying to stand up for what's right. They want to prove themselves and especially in M.U. Mike has an unwavering belief of himself and the struggles in this recent movie (don't wanna spoil anything) really defines what KH is all about. Toy Story - Buzz and Woody, a dynamic duo, but it didn't start off that way. I think the story would pick up somewhere in the middle of the movie and lead to the end. Buzz discovers he's a toy, but it doesn't mean he isn't purposeful, meeting the KH gang will definitely be a treat. Aladdin and the King of Thieves - I know we're all tired of this DAMN WORLD... but honestly, the plot is just too perfect for this. Aladdin is searching, really searching, for a place where he belongs in this movie and well, that's all that needs to be said. Alice in Wonderland (2010) - Now I know this is a little farfetched, but maybe, because of plot, the world is changed into this more realistic/life like version. Alice struggles to tell everyone that she wants to be free of these laws of society, she wants to be something else, not betrothed to a random person. The Lone Ranger - Well this is simple. The Lone Ranger and Tonto fight for what is right and at times in the movie (although I've only seen the trailers), the Lone Ranger is questioned about where he really belongs. Enchanted - Simple enough, a lot of the characters in this movie really have no grasp of where they should belong and their false beliefs lead them to a lot of singing numbers and finally finding who and where they should belong. Treasure Planet - Dejected from society, underestimated, Jim Hawkins sets out with some new people to find Treasure Planet. Forgive me if I don't remember the actual plot since I haven't watched it since it's release, but I remember he had a similar struggle to the above. The World Ends With You - NOW THIS. I STRONGLY BELIEVE THAT THIS SHOULD BE IN KH3, just because the characters are a prime example of who Sora is trying to save. They constantly struggle to have a second chance at life, to achieve the identity they desire and Neku as well as the others deserve a huge place in Kingdom Heart 3. Final Fantasy VII - Now I know, Cloud won't have his own world, but from what we left off on KH2, Nomura should finish. Everything for Cloud and Sephiroth will take place in Radiant Garden, the only original KH world I'm going to mention here, since the others are just not really needed to be mentioned due to obvious purposes for plot. Cloud finding himself will finally be shown in KH3. I didn't include Disney Castle/Disney Town in the list above because I believe it might not even be needed. Now I know the Runaway Brain idea may come to fruition, but this world isn't needed to do so. But they might just include it because it's been in every Main game. Also, I know it maybe far fetched, but Avengers (2012) can fit into KH3 if Nomura chooses to do so, since it deals with sense of place, identity and such, but I know many of you would hate it for some reason. Just pointing it out because it does make sense. Main Plot Events: Everyone sleeping in sadness will be rescued to some extent Mickey is taken over by Julius Isa has an ulterior motive Kairi better get some character development The battle royale of the century Maleficent and Pete will play a bigger role into leading the heroes to their destination I would like (wish) it if Sora did not finish the story off again, something like, he is badly wounded in the 2nd to last battle and everyone who he rescued and company prove that they belong there also, that they are there to stay. I want redemption for Roxas, Xion, Namine, Aqua, Ven, Terra. EDIT 1: Thanks to Sakuraba Neku, I remembered I forgot Game Mechanics Return of some version of Flow Motion Summons Synthesis Some version of Command Style and/or Drive Forms (Drive could be for Sora and Command for Riku) Sora, Riku and Kairi will be playable. I agree with @Sakuraba Neku that Kairi should start it off, probably Yen Sid teaching her things Sora and Riku already know and it could lead up to them meeting up and doing some sort of split off from that point on. Magic I wish some form of the Command Deck would return. Abilities being achievable by level as well as special circumstances (special levels, dream eater, synthesis) EDIT 2: Wishing: Sora doesn't finish the final boss, instead those who he saved are the ones to repay their debt! Kairi has a much bigger role and is a main player in the scheme of things Very very long game with many many cutscenes and badassery I WANT OSWALD. Maybe not in KH3, but I want him to appear somewhere in the KH series, I mean he deserves it! EDIT 3: Secret Bosses to Final Bosses and more! In Kingdom Hearts 3D, Julius is shown as the secret boss of the game. From further analysis of every main tiltle (I, II, and BbS), one can infer that this is a clue to the next game's final boss or string of final bosses or connect to it somehow. Fact: In Kingdom Hearts I: Final Mix, Xemnas (in the form of a Mysterious Figure) was the secret boss. In Kingdom Hearts II, he is the final boss. In Kingdom Hearts II, Lingering Will (Terra) is a secret boss. In Birth by Sleep, you have to fight Terranort with the Lingering Will. In Kingdom Hearts: Birth By Sleep, Vanitas the secret boss. Also, in Birth By Sleep: Final Mix, No Heart is also a secret boss in Mirage Arena. Since Xehanort's armor is No Heart and he created Vanitas, it is safe to assume that the two being secret bosses led to Ventus' Armor (a direct correlation to the two) as the final boss. In Kingdom Hearts: Birth By Sleep, Mysterious Figure (YMX) is the secret boss also. In Kingdom Hearts 3D, he is the main antagonist as well as the second boss. Speculation: In Kingdom Hearts: Dream Drop Distance, Julius is the main secret boss. The Runaway Brain is movie where Julius enters Mickey's mind and takes over it. So one can infer that maybe Julius will do this to Mickey and Mickey will become one of the 13 Seekers of Darkness and a final boss. In Kingdom Hearts: Dream Drop Distance, Lord Kyroo is a secret boss. Maybe in Kingdom Hearts 3, the frog dream eater is pointing towards the Princess and the Frog movie based world. < Although I hate this speculation, it has it's validity, but I just don't like the movie. One can also argue that both characters in this movie are trying to find themselves also which would be completely valid. What do you guys think? (Might add to this some more later)

  17. As we are all certainly aware, Square Enix shared new Kingdom Hearts III footage at their E3 2015 press conference yesterday. As the trailer floated around the internet and more fans watched it closely, multiple theories have come about concerning subtle hints that Tetsuya Nomura placed in the trailer. We're going to be exploring a few of these popular theories here. First, one possible hint is the calendar seen near the end of the trailer: The calendar in the background seems to depict a month where the first three days are a Thursday, Friday, and Saturday, and the month has 31 days total, also ending on a Saturday. After doing some very quick checking, it seems that there are a few months in the coming years with these same criteria: As you can see, the next two months that match with this calendar are October 2015 and December 2016! What do you all think? Could this represent anything, or should we take this with a grain of salt? Let us know in the comments!

  22. Sorry if this is already a topic, I've lurked here for years but never bothered to make an account until I saw the new footage at the conference today. The grassy area Sora is at in the footage is a whole new version of Olympus Colosseum, and it looks gorgeous. Finally looks to be a full fledged world. This is backed up by the pillars seen in the background, as well as the trees with classic Hercules style swirls on them. Another note, Sora is seen weilding StarSeeker, and what can only be the new Keyblade for Olympus Colosseum. It has pillars near the handle, and the blade seems to be Zeus holding a lightning bolt. It also transforms into a chariot with a Pegasus.
