  1. What is Cloud gaming? Cloud gaming, (not to be confused with subscription-based gaming), is the use of powerful centralized servers to render the game remotely rather than on the player's physical console and is currently being pushed by video game publishers as the new way to play video games. The technology allows for things like better graphics, higher FPS-rates, better lighting, all with minimal hardware requirements for the client. You could play the most recent, most graphics heavy game at 4K 60fps from your two-year-old iPhone. At least that's the idea. The problem is... It's still way too early for this to be technologically viable. And the recent release of the Kingdom Hearts Cloud versions prove it. Square Enix and Nintendo decided to go against what most professionals have already said about cloud gaming, and published a cloud version the Kingdom Hearts series at nearly full price on a console designed to be used on the go with limited or no internet connection. Which is actually pretty disappointing as a fan of both the Kingdom Hearts series and Square Enix themselves. The Problem I think the best way to describe the problem is to compare it to traditional video streaming. When you watch a movie on Netflix, the movie is already rendered and ready to go on Netflix's servers, and will be downloaded in real time as you watch, with a few seconds of buffer to give you the most seamless experience. What is a buffer? In streaming, buffering means the platform gives itself a small head start. It starts downloading the content a few seconds (or less) before actually playing it. If the buffer runs out while watching, you might experience a short pause, a temporary drop in resolution, or both. I think anyone that actively watched Youtube 10 years ago are all too familiar with this. As ISP's infrastructure gets better, the need for a buffer decreases, but it's still there in some capacity, and is likely to still be there for the foreseeable future. However in cloud gaming, buffering isn't possible in any capacity. Since your console has to record your input, pass it on to the server, render the gameplay, then send it back to you all within a few milliseconds. There is no room for buffering, at all. Even just half a second of buffering means you'd be playing the game with a ping of 500ms. And I think most people would agree that isn't a great experience, especially when it comes to fast-paced games like Kingdom Hearts. Credit: Screenshot taken from HMK's video about the same topic Conclusion If the Cloud game you're playing has servers within a hundred mile radius, and you have a good internet connection with low latency, you might be able to play it somewhat smoothly. But anyone outside of the most central parts in the most populated regions are out of luck. If video game publishers keep pushing this technology too early, they risk taking huge hits to their image from their intended audience. I hope this outrage turns out to be a learning experience for Square Enix and for other publishers witnessing the outrage. Maybe one day in the future, we'll have fast enough connections that most of the world will be able to experience and enjoy cloud gaming as it's intended, without having to live right next to the data center. But we're not quite there yet.
  2. Looking for people fluent in the mobile games to help me flesh out this theory. It’s grand, but I know the prequel has specific ties to a lot of what’s mentioned here. Anyone you up for the task? all who help get prime access to song motif requests (I make my own medleys for my videos) along with username/real name/channel shout-outs in-video played during your request. https://youtu.be/YX-C8hEex7k
  3. My overarching theory is this. Tidus disappears in FFX, after killing jecht/sin. We know in FFX that whoever defeats sin becomes sin. Yuna was SUPPOSED TO. But Tidus changed Fate. I think Tidus is the one dreaming the realm that sora is currently existing in. Here’s why. Final fantasy X, X2, 13, and 7 are all along the same timeline. The Jenova project of FF7 was to make a hybrid of a human and raw energy. They found out that was the life of the planet. The light. Kingdom hearts bad guys have consistently tried to create a being, capable of copying the keyblade. Every time failed, and even Xion couldn’t wield its true power without shattering. What if Yozora is that project completed somehow? In KH3 remind he scans the keyblade. And he knows how to use it, very well. He could be the replica project come to fruition somehow. Could the dandelions have been sent to quadratum for yozora to copy? It would make sense as to why he’s so keen with a keyblade If Tidus is the dream, and all of KH is in this, quadratum could be another dream, and they could be touching via sora being in the realm of sleep currently. If Tidus is actually the dream, this is what’s also true. The overwhelming karma imbalance in Verum Rex, the inability to vanquish the heartless, even time travel, as Tidus traveled 1000 years into the future. It would all be cannon. Along with every FF character in KH to date. In application of this theory to FF and KH, EVERYTHING remains cannon. And it doesn’t influence the story at all. Everywhere you apply the theory that Yozora is the ultimate Replica program completed, you realize this. Xehanort, MoM, Tidus, and the Shinra corp would all have the same motive. To create a being strong enough to capture the keyblade’s light. They would still always need sora to go through how his events have unfolded, and yozora would have motive for wanting to stop sora too Noctis, would still be the FALSE KING. Because although he can copy every weapon in his world, YOZORA would be the true king, able to copy any weapon in any dimension. The arena in verum rex is offshore of a city. The buildings around it are the same shape, size and look like storage containers. Like In FF 7. Maybe, verum rex is attached to the data world somehow, and MoM made a replica of the system from FF7, but because it’s a videogame, it would allow for unlimited use of energy. But it also allows for what? BUGS. The mechs are eerily bug shaped. in this arena too, I think the gold mech we fight, is actually yozora. He might think “beating sora” to gain the power is all a game because KH might be a game in his world. But it could be Sora’s reality that’s in jeopardy. We’ve seen this format in Re:Coded. What if baby Xehanort was copied? Xehanort decoded is heart, and Nox. A nox is a goddess of the night. But in GREEK. Not Latin. Quadratum would have an entirely different “Origin” as we all know. Heart of the night could mean that yozora is the alternate timeline of XEHANORT in the data realm. It would account for his identity problem, along with every player being in his heart from KHUX. It would explain his ability to use the keyblade instantly after copying it. it explains his motive to stop sora. That could be why we also plan through TWO versions of the ending If baby Xehanort was also copied, and that’s who resides inside yozora’s body, it accounts for his red and blue eye. He would never have needed to choose between light and darkness because they don’t exist there. But I think he will become the ultimate villain. A Gilgamesh. Which would explain VERSUS 13’s idea I just don’t think remind was either or. I think it was Both and It seems like this is basically what phase 2 is comprising of. Shaping out Sora’s scenario. But I think Riku is going to be in trouble and that’s what Sora’s oath will change to. Saving Riku somehow, even though Riku went to save sora. I think yozora and sora met, because yozora was dreaming in his world. Maybe— Yozora sets his sights to save nameless star, which I have a sneaking suspicion has connective ties with kairi, so they all race to kairi but all for different motives. Sora’s oath to return could still be to kairi, but a new oath in is heart could be forming. One larger than them all. I think yozora is going to choose the darkness and become what sephiroth is to cloud. What Seymour was to Tidus, etc. the parallels are wild. Even Final Fantasy X has 7 characters of light in the party. please subscribe to my YouTube channel as I will be fleshing this theory out starting next week. https://youtube.com/c/jonvega10131
  4. Square Enix has shared new official Kingdom Hearts artwork via the franchise's official Twitter accounts (English & Japanese), commemorating the legendary Final Fantasy VII's 25th anniversary. Sora is shown in Scala ad Caelum, mirroring a pose Cloud does in the key art for Final Fantasy VII Remake, with Midgar as the backdrop. This isn't the first time the Kingdom Hearts media accounts have celebrated Final Fantasy VII this way, as it previously occurred in 2017 for Final Fantasy VII's 20th anniversary. Beginning

I uploaded this to my Twitter and few other social media. But I figured I should upload this here. I am working on a dedication project that's in a way related to a countdown. I will play every playable game (including the DS games + their movie counterparts...Union Cross is an acception because the story is not finished yet LOL) then I will draw them out based on that game and this will be monthly. Example: KH1 in June, Chain of Memories (including reverse/rebirth) in July, KH2 in August, etc etc. Starting with, of course, the beginning of the series, simply just Kingdom Hearts. We all remember: inserting the disc to our PlayStation 2, hearing dearly beloved, being blown away by the opening, going through the tutorial starting with out own choices (I know most of us chose the sword LOL), fighting the once terrifying Darkside, exploring Destiny Islands, hanging out as Sora with Riku and Kairi, fighting heartless, getting a Keybalde, meeting with Donald and Goofy, going to many Disney worlds, meeting a few Final Fantasy characters like Cloud, facing difficult bosses, solving puzzles, the final boss, the ending. All of that for the first time was magical. A mix of Disney with the aesthetics of Final Fantasy was what many of us would never dream of would exist. Here we are now with the many games after KH1 getting us prepared for KH3, a revolution we are ready to face. And here's my review and thoughts overall here (synopsis included): --- Our story begins with Sora, who lives on an island with his best friends Riku and Kairi. They attempt to build a raft to explore outside worlds. One night, the island is attacked by creatures if darkness, called Heartless, the forcibly separated Sora from his friends. Sora stumbles upon another world, with a strange weapon [the Keyblade] aside him. There in the new world, he stumbles upon Donald and Goofy (who are traveling looking for "the key" in hopes to find their missing King). They all travel together to many different worlds while fighting the heartless in hopes to find their friends. --- This is the game that started it all. I first discovered this game at a friend's home in 2004 or 2005. What attracted me was art work of the cover. To think that there is a beautiful art work featuring Donald Duck and Goofy. Another attractive feat is realizing it was a crossover. Since I was a kid, I've always LOVED the idea of crossovers. Discovering this was a whole other level. We were able to burrow it to play at home. I inserted the disc and this song plays at the menu screen https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=8LXTui5vl6Y . Something about it was so indescribable. It was unique, gave me a new feeling which I have never felt before. If that couldn't anymore unique, we have the [opening|https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=29KHZ3jVguk]. This is just the song for now because I want you all to experience it yourselves at your own time (also hoping to avoid spoilers). I STILL listen to this song to this day. The opening was....breath taking. I have never seen anything like it before. Growing up with Disney and this was something even I think Disney wouldn't pull off. Then we have he tutorial section. Had to go through decisions and learning the basics of fighting. I even had to deal with a boss that terrified me the first time fighting it. Then there was Destiny Islands. Seriously y'all, this is an island I want to visit. A place like that looks perfect for exploration and imaginative adventures. A child's dream play ground. It was saddening that I eventually had to leave. However, visiting Traverse Town was like home in a way. Meeting Donald and Goofy was also a highlight, because Disney of course. Traveling to many worlds, the plot thickening, fighting difficult bosses and feel like a champion winning them. The music was also a great feat of the game, the entire series for that matter, thanks to Yoko Shimomura (to which she became my absolute favorite composer of all time This game was unique and strange but it was a good feeling. There was Disney magic, but this game had it's own magic that a mix of Disney and Final Fantasy. It was a truly magical experience I will never forget. Looking at it years later, the fact that it was possible to remaster the game that is over 15 years old, shows that it has aged well. That being said, the gameplay is a mixed bag and it is heavily subjective. Sora did feel a bit clunky. But, I also felt this seemed appropriate for Sora honestly simply because it is the beginning of his massive journey. Of course you'd feel clunky jumping around swinging an oversized key (I'm sure this was not intentional from the developers) LOL. It was alright for me playing the game simply because my nostalgia was stronger than my own critique. There was one thing that bothered me was the editing in transitioning via dialogue. The original had this issue before the final mix. However, I did know that there was one scene when a character made a deal and was offered the thing they were looking for. It took them about 5-6 seconds to respond....in the original it took them 3. Out of all the games, this game had the most awkward editing with dialogue. This game is not perfect and I may be a bit biased because of nostalgia. But, in terms of gaming, his had changed me. When in was a kid, I remember my mother playing a lot of videogames growing up (particularly Ocarina of Time for example). I could never get past after the first round for most of the games. That is until I played Kingdom Hearts. This has me so invested in the story I had to work hard going through his game. It is all thanks to this game I managed to get through Ocarina of Time on my own. So, I gained independence for gaming LOL The titles in the series is a journey in itself to reach to the one game we had waited for for so many years. I hope to entertain you with my thoughts and my artwork for this series. It is thanks to this series that I an doing this. I hope you all enjoy what I offer. [ARTIST NOTE] This was simply fun to do. I had some struggle trying to pose Sora the way I want him to. The shoes were especially difficult (I am not used to drawing huge shoes LOL). The water was my most favorite to do. The shore bit was something I am extremely proud of. [UPDATE: had to fix up one of his shoes and did some editing.] Sora from Kingdom Hearts © Square Enix and Disney You can check the other posters hrough this link in my deviantART: https://www.deviantart.com/mns-prime-21/gallery/67100545/Kingdom-Hearts-III-Countdown

  9. An unexpected but welcome surprise struck Kingdom Hearts fans' timeline yesterday as voice actor Erika Harlacher released a short musical puppet show based on our favourite video game franchise Kingdom Hearts. The Disney x Square Enix collaboration is no stranger to adaptations outside the video game world with it being adapted into novels, a Manga series, and at one point it was almost made into a cartoon series. Now, although not official, it has been adapted into a musical puppet show. Who could see that one coming? The short was created by longtime voice actor Erika Harlacher. Harlacher is most known for voicing Ann in Persona 5. But she has also provided her voice to well over a hundred different projects, including additional voices in several Square Enix titles like Final Fantasy VII Remake, NEO: The World Ends with You, and of course Kingdom Hearts III. The short, titled Puppet Kingdom: Musical Hearts was published on both Youtube and Twitter, and retells the first chapter of the original Kingdom Hearts game where Sora first meets Donald and Goofy in Traverse Town. The song is titled The Trio Song, and according to Harlacher she has 5 more songs already written that she may publish later assuming Disney lawyers don't put a stop to it first. Harlacher, who herself is an avid fan of the Kingdom Hearts series, states that she's been on and off working on this project for a year and a half. With the project being so well made, it has received praise from other known members of the community and fellow voice actors. Including a shoutout from Goofy's official voice actor for 30+ years, Bill Farmer. If you're a fan of Kingdom Hearts, or just appreciate great puppet artistry, we urge you to check out the project! With enough support, maybe we'll see more of it! View full article

  18. Gaming website Nintendo Life recently spoke to Kingdom Hearts series producer Ichiro Hazama about why the Nintendo Switch ports for the remaining games will be Cloud only. Hazama stated that there have been various difficulties with bringing over the titles to this hardware, with storage capacity being the only explicitly stated one. Nintendo Life then asked if Kingdom Hearts HD 1.5 + 2.5 Remix could at least receive a native Nintendo Switch version. Hazama replied with the following statement: This is undoubtedly a vague answer, but since it isn't an outright 'no,' then it is possible that fans respectfully expressing their desire for native ports will be the key to this hopeful event occurring. 20. 22. PlayStation Showcase 2021: Thursday, September 9 - YouTube Is it likely we will see Verum Rex be revealed at the PlayStation Showcase on September 9th, 2021? In the teaser PlayStation posted, there is a rendition of "Nachtflügel" from Kingdom Hearts 3. Also I think that it is likely a trailer will be released because we are more than half way through 2021 and it would prepare us for next year's big reveals for KH.
