  1. So I've been trying to write this for quite a while, but I have finally done it. As you have most likely already seen the title of this topic, this is about the 13th seeker of darkness. However, I decided to something interesting. I decided that I want to make you a part of the story. That's right! You are the 13th seeker of darkness! Enjoy and please leave a comment on your thoughts on this. The XIIIth Seeker of Darkness: You Chapter I “I was the newest member of this ‘organization’, the 13th to be specific,” you say to yourself. “They tell me that I was very special to take that role, but why?” you ask yourself. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ “For some reason, I can’t remember who I am or where I even came from. All I remember was finding myself in a world filled with nothing but the darkness around me and its foul stench. All I did was walk forwards, ‘cause that was really the only thing I could do.” “It felt like I had walked for days, but strangely enough, at the same time, it felt like I had walked for a few minutes,” you continue. “I wasn’t hungry or tired or anything really. I just walked…and walked. Until, I arrived at a beach with sand that had the colour of charcoal, the sea with the same shade, as it was reflecting the starless sky; and an orb of light in the distant horizon.” “That light was what intrigued me the most. It was far, but I could feel its soothing warmth and just staring at it made me forget what kind of place I was in, even the horrific smell.” “It was then that I decided to swim out and reach that light for as long as it took. I had to have some sort of goal and that was what I wanted. However, as soon as I was about to make my first step into the water, I heard a strange noise from behind me. I turned round to see a black-hooded figure who was offering his hand to me.” “He said that my goal was not that precious light in the distance, but to join his organization of hooded figures. I can’t say that I didn’t trust him at first, but I didn’t what to do. After all, he was the first person I met ever since I had found myself with no memories.” “So I followed him into some sort of portal that he made appear just by raising his hand. After that, I found myself in a dark city, in front of a skyscraper.” The man took of his hood to reveal an eye-patched individual with scars, golden eyes, pointed ears and a huge grin. He offers you a black coat, the same one he was wearing and said that it would protect you from the darkness. At that moment, you quickly take the garment and wear it as you believed in the man’s words and you already feel safe wearing the coat as you did not wish to find yourself in that strange place again. “You feel safe kiddo?” he asks you. You decide not to answer him as you still don’t feel that this man is trustworthy and instead, you pull the coat’s hood over your face to hide it. “Well aren’t you just an individual of words? As if,” he says. He tells you to follow him up a road ahead, towards a floating castle over a bottomless pit. On your way there, the man continues to ramble and doesn’t stop talking. He goes on to say how you’re ‘special.’ You remain unsure whether or not he was showing a sign of appreciation or if he was just straight out insulting you, but you continue to remain unresponsive. He finally decides to introduce himself as you arrive in front of the castle: Xigbar. You and Xigbar walk towards the castle on some sort of blue platform. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Eventually, you find yourself in the centre of thirteen thrones with everyone one of them filled with hooded figures, except for two: one of which Xigbar states that it’s his. The other remains unknown to you. You look up to see an old man with the same eyes and ears as Xigbar. He seemed to be the only one among them who was not wearing the black coat. “Does he not need protection from the darkness?” you ask yourself. The old man grows a grin and says, “At last, our XIIIth member has arrived. Mark my words my companion, your services to this group will not go unnoticed. Of that I am certain.” You feel like you are at home as you feel safe with this organization of black-hooded figures. “But first,” the old man continues, “we must observe your ways on the battlefield to see if you are truly worthy. As I have been told you have quite remarkable skills.” All of a sudden, you’re feelings of safety wash away as you are surprised by the words of the old man. “I can’t even remember who I am!” you say to yourself. “How am I able to fight? And from where did the old man hear I am worthy? Was I a truly powerful person before my awakening with no memories? Who was I?” You are left with these questions and so many more in your mind as the old man decides to inform you of your first dual.

  4. Please read: Chapter 1 The cargo hold of a massive, great ship sailing off the coast, filled to the brim with things ripe for the taking. Sliding down a pole, his tail tucked up to avoid a repeat of the time he skinned the tip by getting it caught in a gear off the chains, Zidane landed softly on the balls of his feet, catlike. He walked off down the hall, past flickering candles in smoky glass holders, and went in a door, letting it slam behind him. "Man...it sure is dark in here.." He muttered to himself, his eyes barely able to see the floor, let alone anything ahead in the darkness of the room he'd entered. He took three timid steps forward, looking around in the vain hope of being able to see anything in the inky gloom, no light source aiding this fruitless search. "I guess nobody's here yet...figure's they'd all be late." He complained, crossing his arms, his tail flicking, irritated. He'd had enough: striking a match, he could only just see by its dim glow. The room was still empty, no matter what he did, so he tried to be patient, walking around with no real aim in mind, and poking around in drawers. After the first few matches burned the tips of his fingers, he light the candle gracing the simple wooden table in the center of the room, the brilliant glow letting him see at last. "Who's there?!" A voice demanded. "It's...uh...me, Zidane!" He called back. The door flew open then, and a group of people rushed in, smirking. "Hey Zidane!" A man with dark hair cried, "You sure are late! Sleep in again?" "Sorry, Blank...I...ahem.." Zidane cleared his throat. "So, where's the boss?" "Ain't here yet." A short man named Cinna grunted, rolling his eyes. Just then a door burst open, a big creature with armour that looked a bit like a dragon bursting into the room. It let out an ear piercing roar, as the small group fanned out into battle positions, attacking it from the left and right, swinging at any flesh that was open. "To your left, kid! Watch yourself!" Blank cried, taking a careful jab at the monsters left leg. Zidane dodged, feeling the rush of air go by as the monster's punch missed him by inches. A final blow broke the head open, revealing a face shadowed by a beard beneath dark glasses. "Oh...my aching head...you people..." The man whined, rubbing a sore spot on his skull. The group took deep breaths, Zidane's left arm hurting from a hard impact with the floor. "Hey, fools!" The man cried. His name was Baku, and he was the leader of the group. He strode to the front of the room, and grinned at them all. "You're lookin' a lot better! But you need to work out your doge, Zidane." Zidane nodded quietly. Baku strode into the next room, and everyone scurried after, Zidane still rubbing his aching arm. He'd need a bandage possibly. He hoped it was a sprain. "Alright!" Baku bellowed from the front of the room, "Let's start this meeting already!" Everyone took a seat, watching him closely. "Here's the plan: Tantalus, that oh so infamous band of merry thieves," He tipped a wink, "That's us, is headin' to the Kingdom of Alexandria." He nodded at a miniature of the kingdom on the table, detailing every spire and window of the massive place. "Our mission: to kidnap the heir to the throne... Princess Garnet!" Everyone was silent. "I'll take it from here." Cinna said, getting to his feet. "So listen up! Our ship's about to dock at Alexandria, and when it does, we're gonna put on our costumes, and perform "I Want to Be your Canary", the most popular play in all of Alexandria!" The others showed little enthusiasm at this. Cinna grinned. "Break a leg, Marcus: you're our lead." Marcus smirked, "Leave the actin' to me. I'm a born thespian. Course, the real kidnappers'll be Blank and Zidane." "I'll distract the audience from backstage with these." Blank said. He groaned. "Ughh...I can't stand oglops..." He grinned. "But I'll manage. don't you worry your pretty heads about me. And that'll be your cue, Zidane. " Zidane had been only half listening, and jerked to attention. "Uh... that's when I kidnap Princess Garnet, r..right?" "You bet!" Baku declared, "You're gonna kidnap the most baaaabe-ilicious beauty in all of Alexandria, Princess Garnet!"
  5. In the southern regions of Asia, a bright young lad took his first steps on the sands of the India. He had traveled the world in search for a cure. Not a physical illness, but an emotional one. He hadn't been able to fulfill true happiness. He had hoped to find it here. After taking a quick glimpse, the young man, Shard, decided to go to town. He had heard of foods that brought on good emotions. Chocolate that gives off love, coconuts that give off bliss. But no, it wasn't meant to be. The town had been closed off, protestors filled the streets. What was going on? Shard was confused, and went to get a closer look. "Alright you natives, we be harvesting the goods here, you just mind yourself!" A loud female voice filled the air. Shard looked to the voice. It wasn't a voice he recognized. Why would it be? It was her first time in India. But the female was obviously American, her skin white as snow, her eyes an indescribable color. "Captain Hargle!" a voice called out. "All the goods are loaded, and ready for shipping." It was revealed to be a young male, who also appeared to be American. "Good." Captain Hargle commented. She took a look out into the crowd before saying "You're all free to return to your markets." The gang quickly dispersed, and the crowds did the same. Shard followed the Captain. However, it wasn't too long before she had taken noticed. "Trixie!" She yelled. The young man from before returned quickly. "Yes Captain!" Orderly and clean, the recruit stood awaiting orders. "Take care of our stalker. I must tend to the grounds!" Trixie nodded, and ran towards Shard, blade in hand. Shard, hoping to cause confusion, began to dance. Trixie looked at the young man in confusion. Why was she dancing when she was about to be murdered? He lifted his blade high, and quickly brought it back down. Shard begins to slide backwards, as required of him in his dancing. However, this caused him to bump into Trixie, who drops his sword due to the surprise. Shard quickly picks up the sword, and aims it at Trixie. "What are you doing with the town goods?" He asked forcibly. The man begins to laugh. “We all have to die sometime, yes? You might as well end me now, I'm not telling you anything!" Shard takes the blade, and swipes it at Trixie's right leg. It comes off in one clean hit, and he falls to the ground. Shard walks over and places the edge of the blade against Trixie's waist. "Answer my question, or your goods go too." Trixie cried out in pain, not being able to answer clearly. Shard lowers the blade towards his nether regions, lifts the blade high, and... "STOP!" another female voice calls out. It wasn't the Captain... No, this was someone new. Shard couldn't tell who she was, but she could definitely tell she was part of Hargles crew. "Don't hurt him anymore!" Shard stared at the woman, before querying. "Who are you?" The blade still aimed for Trixie's regions. "I am Crewman KittensOnFire, and I'm here to take you back to the ship! Captain's watched your moves from afar, and knows a good fighter when she sees one." "KittensOnFire? That’s a weird name. Why was she watching me?" Shard was rather enraged that the Captain would let a crewman get injured. KittensOnFire sighed, and answered. "Because, the Captain needs new crew members, and we're running low on Numbers, which is why I came here before you could finish off poor Trixie there.” Two male crew members walk up from behind KittensOnFire, carrying a stretcher. They lift Trixie onto it, and carry it back to the ship. Shard lowered the blade, but kept it in hand in case he was being tricked. “Alright, KittensOnFire. I’ll go with you for now, but no tricks or you know where this blade’ll end up.” “Follow me” KittensOnFire nodded nervously before leading KittensOnFire away. KittensOnFire looked back several times, to be sure that Shard had not planned on sticking her while she wasn’t looking. Together, they headed back towards the beach, or rather, the port near it. The port itself was small enough, but the ship was indescribable. “Welcome to the KH13.” KittensOnFire finally said. Shard continued staring at the ship in awe. The details in the wood work… Wait, woodwork? Its 2015, why is this ship made of wood? KittensOnFire led Shard up the ramp, and onto the ship. The two males that had taken Trixie away were sitting on deck, playing with a deck of cards. Shard walks to the wheel sitting on the upper deck. There was no one there, so he took hold of the mantels. It did nothing, of course. Shard looked at his hands, feeling foolish. KittensOnFire walked up to meet with Shard. "I want you to meet some of your crew members. Follow me." Shard complied, and walked back to the lower deck with KittensOnFire, who lead her to the two playing with the cards. Shard didn't recognize these kinds of cards. The male on the left had a card labeled "Chespin", while the male on the right had a card labeled "Froakie" "Meet Sky, and Soul." KittensOnFire spoke, speaking the later name with loftiness. The two didn't look up, but instead continued their game. "Sky... and Soul..." KittensOnFire continued. Soul looked up as KittensOnFire said his name. "Hey." That's all he said before looking back down. "Um… we’re pretty close, I guess you could say. But there's two more people you need to meet. Follow me... again" Once again, Shard followed KittensOnFire across the deck, and towards a door, that lead into a hallway. The two together went into the first room on the left. A man was standing near a bedside, over Trixie. After looking around the room, Shard determined that this was the Nurses room. “This is our nurse, WakingDawn.” Jasha looked up to Shard, and chuckled. “So, you’re the one that put poor Trixie here in my office.” Shard looked over towards Trixie, feeling some regret for doing what he had. "Yes" she spoke. WakingDawn sighed, and walked over to the two. "You know, we used to call him Legs. But now, we have to call him... just Leg." WakingDawn had hoped to lighten up the situation. So, two careless members, one Captain, one lofty nurse, and a ship named KH13. What was going on, even? “Look, I just want to speak with the Captain.” Shard said lightly. He was tired, it had already been a long day, and she didn’t know what she was supposed to do here. “Alright, it’s the door right across from this room. Go in there alone.” Waking said, rather than KittensOnFire. In fact, KittensOnFire wasn’t even in the room. Shard assumed she had left to join Sky and Soul. Shard looked out the door, to the other door labeled with “Hargle.” Once in the hall, he took a deep breath, and opened the door. She took a few steps in. The Captain was sitting quietly in a chair, facing out a window behind her desk. “Captain Hargle?” Shard spoke lightly, as to not get herself in too much trouble yet. “Please,” the woman spoke. She turned her chair around, stood up, and removed her hat. “It’s Captain Jak Hargle.” -End of Chapter One- IF I USED THE WRONG PRONOUNS, I SINCERELY APOLOGIZE. Correct me, if you wish, and I will fix them above.
  6. Hello everyone, this is a novel I'm writing for fan fiction. It will be the last entry in the Avatar series. It would be great if you read the prologue and told me what you thought! Thanks! Prologue: Many things had changed during the forty years after Avatar Korra opened the third spirit portal. Technology was improving faster than ever, all thanks to Future Industries. Even though technology was being produced that would help improve the lives of the people, secret weapons were also being made. Weapons that were designed to kill Benders. There are four elements in the world: Air, Water, Earth, and Fire. The people that can manipulate these elements with their bodies are called Benders. However, not everyone in the world is a Bender, only a select few. Usually, your father or mother has to be a bender in order to give birth to one, but there are rumors that some who are born from Non-Benders can control the elements. There’s only one person in the world that can bend all four elements, and that’s the Avatar. The Avatar is reincarnated after every lifetime. Avatar Korra was our most recent Avatar, but everything changed when the Non-Benders attacked. They used Future Industries’ technology to make advanced weaponry, the likes of which had never been seen. All in an attempt to kill the Benders. They had to wait for the perfect moment, the moment when the Avatar was the most weak. Once Avatar Korra turned sixty, they attacked every nation, seeking out benders and slaughtering them. The benders tried to strike back, but the weapons were too great. Once the Non-Benders attacked Republic City, they sought out Avatar Korra and killed her wife Asami. They then forced the Avatar to travel the world with them and shut every spirit portal, once Korra did this, the benders had no further use for her, and shot her. The Non-Bender ruler who set all of these events in motion was Alva Cantebella. He was living in republic city at the time of hearing the Avatar had been killed. Alva knew all too well what would happen next, and made a decree that any male baby that was under the age of one was to be killed by his forces in the Earth Empire. With every Avatar, there is a cycle, it changes from male to female every lifetime, and is born with a specific element. The next element in line was Earth, this is why Alva made this decree. A slaughter of babies took place all over the Earth Empire, they even killed Non-Bender babies just to be safe. The only way to stop the Avatar cycle completely is to kill the Avatar in the Avatar State. The Avatar State is only active when the Avatar’s life is in jeopardy. Babies were tortured first, then murdered to test them for the Avatar State. However, no matter how many babies the Non-Benders killed, they couldn’t find the Avatar. Many Non-Benders rebelled against this decree, but they were also killed for disobeying Alva. Alva had too much control, and the only thing he wanted was a world free of benders. One month after the decree was announced, Alva experienced something that would hinder his plan. Alva’s wife, Zakiya went into labor and gave birth to a son. There was only one problem, Zakiya was an Earth bender. As Alva gazed at the body of his son, he decided to keep his son’s life a secret, for fear of losing his own son. It wasn’t loss that Alva feared, but a missed opportunity. If his son turned out to be the Avatar, he could use his son’s power to rid the world completely of all Benders. You see, the Avatar has the ability to take people’s bending away. Zakiya’s ability to Earth Bend was kept a secret from everyone except Alva. They had fallen in love at a young age, and Zakiya supported what Alva was doing. She too wanted all of the Benders destroyed. On the outskirts of Republic City lived a young woman, she herself wasn’t a bender, but her husband was. Living a quiet life, they distanced themselves from everyone once Alva was elected into office. However, peace only lasts a short while. Rumors had been spreading that the young woman’s husband was a Bender, and Non-Benders targeted them. The husband told his wife to run away with their child. She packed up a basket of food and clothing and started to run. The Non-Benders broke inside the house and killed the husband, and frantically searched for the wife. The young woman had been running all night, but the Non-Benders weren’t giving up. With the decree still active, the young woman feared for her child’s life, and decided to empty the basket and place her child inside of it. She filled it with the soft blankets she had taken from her home, and closed the lid. After whispering “I love you” to her child, she set the basket in the calm river, and watched as the basket safely floated downstream. The mother began running again, but it was too late, the Non-Benders had found her. The basket shook around violently due to the currents once it started heading downstream. The river lead directly into Republic City, and was flowing directly beside the home of Alva and Zakiya. Zakiya was playing with her son in the gardens when she heard the crying. Zakiya rushed out to the river just in time to see the basket. The basket had landed safely on the shore. Muddy and somewhat broken, Zakiya looked into the basket to see a baby crying. Zakiya picked up the baby and held it in her arms. It was as if fate itself had brought this baby to her. Falling in love with the infant, Zakiya rushed inside to show her husband. However, Alva was upset, they didn’t need a second child, and the Avatar had yet to be found. Alva was going to kill the baby, but Zakiya refused. “End this decree”, Zakiya told her husband. “Children do not belong in a war.” After seeing the pain in his wife’s eyes, Alva ended the decree. Sometime after the decree had ended, a general by the name of Aeron Delray came fourth claiming he had killed the Avatar in a small village outside Republic City. Thankful for the news Alva promoted Aeron, and Aeron became Alva’s personal guard. Alva was finally able to bring his son out of hiding, and embraced his new son that had floated downstream in a basket. Although, Alva was unaware that the child in the basket, would become the hope the Benders needed. The child in the basket was the Avatar, the last Avatar.

  8. Currently, there are a series of Spin-Off movies in development, starting with the movie Rogue One. If LucasFilms asked me to make a Spin-Off movie, here is how things would go. Timeline wise it would be set during and after 'A New Hope'. And it would be set on a planet which is mostly taken over by the empire and is kind of a corporate-mining-type planet, and there is minor rebel influence. What the movie would explore it would be seen from the middle part of the Rebels VS Empire war And the reason The Empire has so much interest in this planet, is because there is this group that worships The Force instead of using it for combat. The main cast would also be like this band-of-misfits, like very Firefly-esque group of people.
  9. I've just published my film/cinema review of Marvel's Avengers: Age of Ultron after seeing it in a three-way movie marathon with Avengers Assemble, Captain America: The Winter Soldier and finally Avengers: Age of Ultron! Hope you enjoy! You can see the review below or on my website via the link below. What do you think of the review? Any good? Fair? Comments are most welcome below, and on my website too. AVENGERS: AGE OF ULTRON andrew-hankinson.co.uk/film/ageofultron Hello and welcome to another one of my movie reviews. This is the big one! This is the film that I’ve been looking forward to probably the most in 2015 besides Star Wars (possibly)! I can’t contain my excitement for this film, so once again you are warned; spoilers will be present! The long anticipated IRON MAN 5…sorry, I mean AVENGERS: AGE OF ULTRON! Once again the team assemble for a film to fight the evil forces of Hydra; apparently they were all too busy to help out during Captain America: The Winter Soldier. What they weren’t prepared for were two new super-villains; the twins, Scarlet Witch and Quicksilver. And before Tony Stark realises it, Scarlet Witch plants an idea in his head that leads to the creation of Ultron; an artificially intelligent robot given life from Loki’s sceptre, who unfortunately has thought that destroying all of humanity is the key to it’s evolution. Ordinarily this wouldn’t be a problem for the Avengers, but Scarlet Witch (in association with Ultron) with mind control turns the team against each other, and it has become increasingly harder to fight Ultron together. As we watch Ultron’s evil plans unfold, we wonder who can stop him and learn not fret and not to swear gosh darn it! When my friends and I saw the offer to watch Avengers: Assemble, Captain America: Winter Soldier and Avengers: Age of Ultron (at midnight on the dot) on Wednesday 22nd of April at the Glasgow Science Centre IMAX for only £21, we immediately booked the seats a month in advance! I don’t think besides Alien, my friends and I have went to a movie marathon like this before, so were excited! Yes we all are going through the busiest time at college or university, but what the hey; it’s worth it!! The last time I was here was for Gravity and it was superb; isn’t as good on a TV screen, so was definitely hoping for the best for these three films. And it was brilliant! Our seats were in the middle to left so was a great view and I’m so grateful that they were comfortable and spacious because we had to sit in them for seven hours (exactly) to watch all three! The screen is massive to point that you don’t need 3D effects because you have to turn your head to see different parts of the film; I would say that the 3D effects made it more visually pleasing but would have been fine without them. And the sound…oh the sound! It made me shiver with joy hearing even the quieter sounds and made my palms sweat during the loud action packed scenes! Am I the only one whose palms sweat at the IMAX? Anyway, IMAX is by far my favourite cinema! I remember going to see Avengers: Assemble with friends at Kilmarnock Odeon back in 2012 and even although we feel cinemas are money snatchers when it comes to 3D viewings, we felt this film merited it! We had high expectations when we entered and were left gobsmacked once we had seen it; it was and still is one of my 10/10 films! And it was twice as brilliant at the IMAX; felt like I was seeing it for the first time especially when the bloody sceptre goes through Agent Coulson again. As far as Captain America: The Winter Soldier, it wasn’t as good as Avengers: Assemble, but was great seeing again on the big screen (click here to read my full review at Kilmarnock Odeon). On top of the three films, IMAX gave us all an exclusive A3 poster for free; pretty awesome (you can see it below). If you don’t know, you can actually purchase prelude comics for the Avenger films, which gives you a little background info before seeing the film. And when I say little I do mean little; but you do get your money’s worth since there are additional older comics added related to the film. This is the first time I’ve tried this but thought I should give it a go before Age of Ultron. After a whole comic depicting the events of Avengers: Assemble, the Age of Ultron prelude links with it and Winter Soldier mainly focusing on Baron Von Strucker/ Hydra’s work with Loki’s septre, Quicksilver & Scarlet Witch recruitment and how they gained their powers. The prelude ends with the after-credits scene in Winter Soldier, so not much info, but was kind of expected; it would have ruined the film if it gave too much away! Age of Ultron was brilliant! End of review! Only joking; there were one or two things I can be nit picky about but overall it was another gobsmacker. I was hoping to see more of Baron Von Strucker; not too much as this was Ultron’s film, but it would have been good to have seen him at least put up more of a fight. The whole relationship thing between Hulk and Black Widow came completely out of the blue and seemed rather forced. …And the Russian accents got a bit distracting. That’s it; lets get back to the good things about this film! So far Loki and the Winter Soldier have been the only villains so far in the Marvel Cinematic Universe to be any good, but I now I think Ultron has taken the top spot. His human-like reactions and comments were hilarious, the CGI was brilliant and the voice acting from James Spader was great too. I thought he could have maybe been slightly more fearful than humorous (especially at the moment after Quicksilver gets it), but nether-the-less he’s brilliant! I was wondering how much reference to Pinocchio there would be and I’m glad with the small amount they used. In any case Ultron’s character acted more like an evil twin of Tony Stark rather than his son. Now, coming back to the death of Quicksilver, it was inevitable that someone was going to die but Marvel ingeniously gave more backstory to Hawkeye than any other film he’s been in, consequently making us think he was going to be the first Avenger to be killed off. But nop! The Marvel universe decided to kill the unofficial member of the Avengers. I personally would liked to have seen more of him but I guess two Quicksilvers can’t be allowed to coincide in cinemas (his character is in X-Men too). Quick in, quick out. As surprises go, I did expect that Hawkeye would have survived, but I didn’t expect Vision appearance to be that great, as I hadn’t heard anything prior. I thought he was going to be a villain and then he was brilliantly deemed ‘worthy’ to be an Avenger; thought the party scene where the gang try to lift Thor’s hammer was just a funny little addition but acted as a reminder to the quote “Whosoever holds this hammer, if he be worthy, shall possess the power of Thor”. Everyone in the cinema was gasping, laughing or slightly clapping when Vision handed Thor his hammer. Stan Lee’s appearance at the party also got a few laughs and applause – as always Stan Lee is hilarious in his scenes. Now, I may be a total Marvel Universe geek and have seen all the previous films, but I personally think someone who’s inexperienced with the independent films or previous Avengers film would be able to understand the majority of Age of Ultron. All the character have a good portion of cinema time to show off who they are and their abilities; important info from the events of the first Avengers are stated, the ‘worthiness’ of the hammer is said subtly through the Avengers party scene, and other references to the previous films. I’d say it’s definitely better to watch after seeing the previous films to understand the little jokes and info (like Thanos, mentions of Jane and Pepper), but can be watched and understood without seeing previous films…but come on – who hasn’t at least watched Avengers: Assemble!? I had high expectations for Age of Ultron as I did for the first Avengers, but there was a part of me that wasn’t sure if it would beat it, but I was wrong. I left overly satisfied with it and have come to conclusion that it is not a lesser film to Avengers: Assemble, but in fact equal to it! At the end of the film (before the credits) Captain America says, “Avengers…A…” and obviously what he was about to say was “Avengers…assholes!” which will start Captain America: Civil War releasing on the 29th April 2016! Of course we stayed for the after credits scenes; we sat for seven hours (exactly) so weren’t giving up there. The first clip was of Thanos grabbing the infinity gauntlet and saying, “Fine, I’ll do it myself.” He couldn’t get the staff so looks like he’ll be getting off his backside and finally doing something. My only thought is what will happen to Vision when/if Thanos nicks the yellow infinity stone from his head!? I’m concerned he won’t make it. We heard before that there was nothing at the very end but stayed anyway, and there was something; a message saying that the Avengers will return…really!? Had no idea! Before then the next few Marvel films we’ve got are Antman; another addition to the Marvel Universe on the 17th July 2015. Then two 20th Century Fox films: the Fantastic Four remake on 4th August 2015, and Deadpool (rated 15, minimum) on 12th February 2016. The next Avengers film is unofficially Captain America: Civil War, but officially is Avengers: Infinity War Part 1 set to release on 27th April 2018. It’s then we’ll hopefully see all the current members of the Avengers again and a few additional heroes including the Guardians of the Galaxy probably. So far only four out of the six infinity stones (which fit in Thanos’ Infinity Gauntlet) have been revealed: the Tesseract (Captain America: The First Avenger), the Aether (Thor: The Dark World), the purple stone (Guardians of the Galaxy) and the yellow stone (in Vision’s head). I’m going to predict that the next two will be revealed in either Thor: Ragnarok, Guardians of the Galaxy 2 and/or Infinity Wars Part 1. The IMAX cinema is the best; loud sound, massive screen, good seats – brilliant! How many times is Marvel Comics going to beat DC Comics; the Arkham Knight game does look amazing, but wasn’t overly enthused with the new Batman vs. Superman trailer. Marvel is becoming unbeatable in the film front and I’m not as bothered about Batman vs. Superman as I was when it was first announced. Anyway, Avengers: Assemble – my hundredth time watch and still AMAZING; Captain America: The Winter Soldier – not as amazing but still great; and Avengers: Age of Ultron – ULTRA AMAZING! Now need to wait…or go and see it again before it finishes at cinemas! Until next time, Avengers A… GLASGOW SCIENCE CENTRE IMAX – 10/10! AVENGERS: ASSEMBLE – 10/10! CAPTAIN AMERICA: WINTER SOLDIER – 8/10 AVENGERS: AGE OF ULTRON – 10/10! I also have a whole selection of other reviews below if you're interested as well: The LEGO Movie Captain America: The Winter Soldier The Amazing Spiderman 2 Maleficent Guardians of the Galaxy Doctor Who – Deep Breath What We Did On Our Holiday It’s A Wonderful Life Kingsman: The Secret Service Children of Men Big Hero 6
  10. The Jedi are no more, and the Empire rules most of the galaxy. A platoon of Stormtroopers led by Lord Vader's right hand man named Starkiller is sent on a mission to an industrial-city planet that has only minor influence of Rebel activity. The Stormtroopers are there to ensure that order is maintained on that planet, but Starkiller signs out because the Empire is using rather questionable methods to maintain that order. For most of the story, Starkiller is a known fugitive to the Empire, and escapes to Tattoine and meets a gang of separatists (not really a part of the rebels but they still disagree with The Empire). The general tone of the story, is that it would take place in the middle of the Empire Vs Rebels conflict and will explore how the galaxy reacts to the events of Epsode 4. I would love to hear some criticism and opinions on this story.
  11. Bleh, sorry for the totally original title...never really posted here before, but I started writing this story and I thought it was turning out pretty good so far. Figured I'd try my hand and share it here to see what everyone thought! Now, I understand some of my ideas are very unlikely and I do my best with the characters, but that doesn't mean I'll get their personalities spot on, so please try to over look that. ^^; Anyway, enjoy! Chapter 1: The brunette let out a battle cry as he jumped high into the air, before bringing his Keyblade down onto the final Heartless that stood in the arena, the creature disappearing into thick tendrils of shadows. The teen panted softly, reaching a hand up to wipe the sweat from his brow, a small frown marring his features. His blue eyes scanned the arena carefully for anymore contenders. It didn’t seem like anyone else wanted to challenge him for the moment. “Looks like that’s all for today! Why don’t you call it a day, Mr. Junior Hero?” A voice called from the stands. The brunette nodded slightly to the Satyr and offered a tired grin, before hopping off of the platform and heading back towards the lobby. His blue eyes drifted to stare at the ground though, the grin falling away fairly quickly. There was a time when he would snap at Phil for calling him a ‘Junior Hero’, but after everything that happened during the Master Qualification Exam, he felt as if that was the only title appropriate for him. He had failed the exam, after all. He had let the darkness get too close to his heart. He had almost become Xehanort’s thirteenth vessel. The teen couldn’t help but wince at the very idea of that happening. “Sora.” Sora blinked, looking up quickly. In front of him stood someone fairly familiar and he smiled weakly at the translucent Nobody. He should’ve been used to this by now, he thought. After the exam, Roxas had begun talking to him through some kind of telepathic link and even occasionally manifesting to speak to him directly. Over the last few weeks, they had gotten to know each other well, Sora thought. And it was nice to have someone to talk to since he ran off alone, leaving Riku and the others back at Master Yen Sid’s tower. “You’re brooding about the exam again.” Roxas said matter-of-factly. Sora groaned, slouching dramatically. Apparently Roxas had no trouble reading his thoughts and feelings. “Well, I am your Nobody. It’s not too hard to do.” The Nobody teased, crossing his arms over his chest. “You could at least try to be more discreet about it or something.” Sora complained, rubbing the back of his head. “I guess I am thinking about it again. Sorry.” He sighed, sliding down the wall so that he was sitting with his knees up to his chest. “I’m glad Riku became a Master. I just…thought for sure I could do the same. Maybe I was too eager or too sure of myself. Because I’ve saved the worlds…did I let it go to my head?” Roxas watched the boy, frowning a bit. Sora had been so unsure of himself lately. He didn’t like this Sora at all. “I don’t think you let it go to your head. But Xehanort set a trap that you couldn’t really avoid didn’t he?” Roxas scratched his cheek thoughtfully. “There’s a lot of hurt inside of you Sora. A lot of it isn’t even yours. But when Xehanort caught onto it, he was able to use it all against you. That hurt dragged you down into the darkness, because you didn’t know how to handle it. You didn’t even know where it came from.” “Right. All those people I saw…” Sora murmured. He closed his eyes, recalling the many faces he had run into. Some were familiar, while others were completely new to him. “I saw you too. But you say you weren’t there.” Sora looked up at Roxas and frowned. They had discussed this once already and Roxas had insisted that he had never appeared before Sora during the exam. He had no doubt it was just another phantom that Xehanort had conjured up. But… “The hurt that I felt from that Roxas…it was too real. The memories too…those were real. You’ve suffered a lot. Too much.” “I…do hurt.” Roxas admitted, closing his eyes and slipping his hands into his pockets. “I could never try and say otherwise. You’ve felt it for yourself. I’ve lost my friends; I’ve lost my own existence. And I can’t remember who it was I forgot, but…I know someone’s missing in my memories. That hurts too, because I know that person was another special friend to me.” “I’m sorry.” Sora mumbled, looking away from the Nobody. He knew that Roxas losing his existence was his fault. But Roxas never seemed to really hold it against him. “I saw others too. There was Namine and this other girl that wore one of the Organization’s robes. And…there were these two older people that called me Ven.” Sora explained, looking at Roxas as if he held the answers. “What do they want me to do? What if they were trying to tell me something for real? What if it wasn’t just something Xehanort made up?” “Like I told you before, I think it’s hurt that exists inside of you, but doesn’t belong to you. He just found a way to drag it to the surface and use it against you.” Roxas repeated. “But the question is what are you going to do about all that hurt? You know there are people suffering, so are you going to help them? Or are you going to keep traveling around the worlds, moping about the exam?” The blonde asked. Sora frowned at that. “I don’t even know most of these people. It’s not that I don’t want to help them, but how do I even go about it?” He asked, his hands clenching at the material of his pants. The fact that there were people hurting and he couldn’t help them…now that bothered him. He felt downright guilty. “What do I do?” “Well, you won’t find the answers here. Maybe it’s time you head back to see your friends. You don’t have to do this alone, right? And you’ve been gone for what, two or three months?” Sora sighed and nodded slightly. That was true. But he had felt ashamed of his attitude towards failing the exam and so he thought it was best to stay away. “Staying away from your friends won’t solve anything. You’re better off heading back and coming clean to them. Your friends are your greatest power. Didn’t you say that yourself?” “You’re right.” Sora mumbled softly, staring down at his hands. “But you…stop reading my thoughts and using them against me!” Sora whined suddenly, making the blonde laugh. He couldn’t help but smile at the sound though. He didn’t hear Roxas laugh near enough, in his opinion. Slowly, Sora pushed himself up off the ground and dusted himself off, offering his Nobody a grin. “Thanks for everything Roxas. I think it’s time we head back.” “There’s not much else for me to do but kick your sorry butt into gear.” Roxas teased, but he gave his other half a slight smile. By now, he had made it his mission to be there for Sora when no one else could be and he was glad that he seemed to be doing something right. Sora gave him a sheepish grin, before running out through the doors of the Coliseum and towards the World Exit, leaving Roxas to fade away. “I’m going to help everyone Roxas. Somehow.” Sora whispered softly, knowing that Roxas would still be able to hear him from within his heart. “That includes you. You deserve to be your own person and you will be.” The brunette could feel a comforting warmth from within himself that he knew had to be Roxas and he nodded in determination. *** "Whatever you said, it seemed to help. His heart feels lighter. He said he was going back to his friends, didn't he?" "Yeah." Roxas confirmed, looking over at the boy that sat on the edge of one of the stained glass pillars. This was the space that seemed to represent Sora's heart, or so that's what the other had said at one time. Sighing, Roxas walked over and took a seat next to the other boy, his legs dangling from the edge of the pillar. "He said he wants to help us." "If anyone can, it'll be him. Don't you think?" The boy turned to look at Roxas and the Nobody had to remind himself once again that he wasn't looking into a mirror. He just couldn't get used to how much they looked alike. The other boy seemed to notice his surprise and laughed. "Shut up Ven!" Roxas snapped, shoving the other boy lightly, but it was done so in a playful manner. He laughed softly himself and looked down to the black abyss below. "Honestly, I don't know what to think. I want to believe that it's possible, but is it really? Your heart is just trapped here, so you can be freed I think. But my heart's not really mine. Is it?" That was what he had been led to believe. He was required for Sora to wake up before, so what would happen if he separated from Sora once again? Wouldn't his other half just fall back into slumber? "I don't believe any of that. You and Sora have your similarities, sure, but you're not completely alike. If you had the same heart, it'd stand to reason that you'd be like a reflection of one another, right?" Ven spoke wisely, humming thoughtfully. "Your hearts reflect your experiences. Sora is so carefree, kind, and strong in matters of the heart. But he also keeps the darkness at an arm’s length, especially after what happened during his exam. You on the other hand are more serious and a bit more level headed. Not to mention I don't think the darkness intimidates you. Oh, and you're mean." The last part was said teasingly and earned the Keyblade Wielder a playful punch on the shoulder. "Very funny." Roxas laughed out, looking up where some unknown source of light shined down on them. "Maybe you're right though. Who knows?" The Nobody folded his arms behind his head and laid back. "What about you Ven? How do you feel about the darkness?" Roxas asked suddenly. The question seemed to make Ven nervous though and the normally optimistic teen lowered his head suddenly. "Me? I'm...terrified of it." The teen whispered softly, almost as if he were ashamed. As a Keyblade Wielder, it was his job to fight the darkness and stand strong against it. At one time he could have, in fact, he did. But after everything that had happened back then, his resolve had crumbled away. "It scares me to death. I've tried to face up to it; I really have, but..." "Really? You dove in so quick to save Sora from that nightmare. Could've fooled me." It was the Nobody's best attempt to comfort the other, but without knowing the whole story, it was pretty hard to do. Ven smiled weakly and nodded slightly. "If it's to help a friend, I'll do anything." Ven admitted, wringing his hands together nervously. "The darkness is why I'm here. It's why my heart was shattered." Ven spoke softly, glancing over at Roxas. Maybe it was because they were more or less in the same kind of situation, but Ven really felt comfortable talking to his look-alike. "Actually, it was because of my darkness." "What's that mean?" Roxas pressed, sitting up again and shifting so that he was now sitting cross-legged, fully turned towards Ven. Ven never really talked about himself, more content to listen to all of Roxas' woes and reassure the Nobody. Maybe it was Roxas' turn to finally return the favor. "W-Well, a long time ago, I was Xehanort's apprentice." Ven said meekly, waiting for Roxas to snap or pass some sort of judgement, but to his surprise, Roxas remained silent and only nodded for him to continue. "He wanted me to use the darkness within myself, but I couldn't do it. He set me up against some powerful Heartless and I lost. After that, Xehanort used his Keyblade to separate all the darkness inside of me and it created and entirely different person. Vanitas." At the name, Ven seemed to become grim, even fearful. "My heart is completely free of darkness because of what Xehanort did. His goal was to have Vanitas and I clash." "All that just to have you fight? But why?" Roxas asked curiously, taking in all the information he could. All this time he had wondered what Ven's story was and now he was finally getting some answers. Ven frowned and lowered his head again. "To create the X-Blade. I'm still not completely sure what its purpose is or why he wants it. But in order to create it, a heart of pure light must clash with a heart of darkness. And we did. The X-Blade was created, but just enough of my heart resisted to keep it incomplete. Our hearts fought and mine won in the end, but at a price; when the X-Blade's destroyed, the hearts the created it are shattered as well." Ven explained it all carefully, sighing heavily. "That's how I came to find Sora. He joined my heart with his to keep me from disappearing." "I didn't know. Sorry Ven." Roxas rubbed his neck awkwardly, unsure of what else to say. Ven only shook his head and stared down into the dark abyss below, kicking his feet a bit. Suddenly, a thought popped into Roxas' head. "Hey, I have an idea! Let's make a promise." Ven lifted his head and looked at Roxas curiously. "A promise?" He wondered, turning to mimic Roxas' own sitting position. He rested his hands on his crossed legs and tilted his head a bit. "What promise?" "The next time I go to see Sora, I want you to come with me." The Nobody insisted, leaning forward a bit. "You've been here for so long, it's about time you two meet." Ven raised his hands as if in surrender and shook his head. "I can't do that! How do you appear in front of someone and explain that you've been living in their heart for 10 or more years?" The Keyblade Wielder shook his head frantically. "That's got to be invasion of privacy or something. Right?" "Come on, I know Sora won't care. It would answer one of his questions and give him a little more determination I think. He wants to help us all so bad and knowing who it is he's helping is always a good start. Besides, you haven't heard the rest of the promise." Roxas gave Ven a reassuring smile and the other teen slouched in defeat. "If you do that for me and for Sora, I promise that if we are able to separate from Sora I’ll do everything in my power to protect you from the darkness." Ven's entire body snapped to attention and he looked at Roxas with wide eyes. Protection from the darkness? "Why? I mean, I can't let you..." Ven stammered over his words, trying to calm the raging storm of emotions and thoughts that were going wild. "Roxas..." "It's like you said, I'm not afraid of the darkness. So if there's ever someone out there that you're scared of or someone you know you can't fight on your own, I'll be right there to fight for you. Besides, it has to be scary to face the darkness when your heart is full of nothing but light, right?" Roxas leaned over and rested a hand on Ven's shoulder, smiling a bit. "You've been here for me all through this. All this time I've been here in Sora's heart, you've reassured me and protected me from my own demons. And you did the same for Sora during his exam. So on the outside, it'll be my turn to protect you." Ven smiled a true smile, practically tackling the Nobody down into a hug. "It’s a promise!" He said quickly, closing his eyes and fighting back a few tears. It had been so long since he had felt any kind of real hope and so long since he felt cared for, loved even. Roxas had no idea how much it meant to him. "Thank you!" Roxas looked surprised when he was knocked onto his back and even more surprised by the embrace, but he didn't hesitate to return the gesture. He smiled slightly, choosing not to comment on the tears soaking through his shirt. "Hey, we're friends, right? Friends look out for one another." He whispered soothingly, rubbing Ven's back lightly as the other teen's shoulders shook. "All of this...we'll get through it together. You, me, Sora, and all of his friends. You'll see." *** Sora stared up at the tower that loomed over him; Yen Sid's tower. He fidgeted nervously, trying to gather up the courage to enter. It seemed like forever since he had seen his friends, though three months hardly seemed like a life changing amount of time. But that didn't mean his friends wouldn't be angry with him. He had warned them that he was leaving though, so would that really be fair of them? Groaning in frustration and anxiety the brunette took a deep breath and pressed forward. He pushed the wooden door open and looked up the long, winding staircase with a sense of dread, though most of the dread was directed at having to climb the stairs to begin with. Sure, he was in great shape, but the stairs were still exhausting. Grumbling to himself, he began the long trek up the stairs, mumbling all the while. "They should put a lift in here. Seriously, a magical lift can't be that difficult. Or just make the stairs move, like an escalator. Yeah, that'd be good." He ranted, not at all worrying that it seemed he was talking to himself. The amusement that practically oozed from the Nobody within himself proved otherwise. "Sure, you find it funny now. Just wait until I find a way to separate us and you have to walk up these things. You'll complain too." "Sora?" The brunette froze suddenly, looking towards the top of the stair case where a familiar silver-haired teen stood. "Riku!" Sora grinned, suddenly feeling a sense of joy at seeing his best friend after those three months. All of his anxiety washed away and he ran the rest of the way up the stairs to see his friend. Once he reached the top though, he was surprised to find himself pulled into a hug. "Huh? Riku?" "We were worried about you Sora. Going off on your own and then not even trying to contact us...we thought something happened." Riku frowned, pulling back and looking at his long-time friend seriously. Sora was like a little brother to him, so it had hurt not to hear from him, not knowing if he was okay. "Where did you go Sora?" "I'm sorry." Sora apologized immediately, looking at his friend guiltily. "I just traveled all around, training and thinking. I had a lot on my mind." He tried to explain, rubbing his arm nervously. "Everything that happened during the exam just really bothered me and I had to get my head straightened out before I could help you guys." "You should've said something. You know I would've helped you." Riku scolded softly, letting out a sigh and crossing his arms. He had known Sora wasn't really okay with failing the exam, despite how much the brunette had insisted otherwise. Riku liked to think he knew his friend better than that. "Do you want to talk about it?" "Yeah, I'll tell you everything Riku, I promise. But I have something I want to ask Yen Sid first. It's about Roxas." The brunette explained, rubbing the back of his neck. "Actually, Roxas is the one who convinced me to come back here. We've been talking a lot since I left." "Talking to Roxas? That's possible?" Riku asked, suddenly looking thoughtful. When he had been working with Diz, he was told that Roxas would return to Sora and essentially become Sora himself. That is, Roxas would return to being whole, therefore he could be no one but Sora. But Sora spoke as if Roxas was still a separate entity. Was it possible? Did...Roxas have his own heart, completely different from Sora's after all? When they had battled all that time ago, he had believed so, but Diz insisted it was just a memory of how he once was and that Nobodies couldn't feel anything. Riku was a fool to believe that. "Yeah. I didn't know until after the exam. I was feeling pretty bummed out and he just suddenly appeared to talk to me. I mean, it's more like he's a ghost, I guess, but he was there for me the entire time I was away. He really picked me up and now I want to help him. There has to be a way. That's what I want to ask Yen Sid." Sora looked so determined, his eyes narrowed and his lips in a firm line. His resolve didn’t waver in the least. That made Riku smirk a bit. Now that was the Sora he knew. "You mean you want to see about letting him be his own person, right?" Riku asked. Sora nodded, looking at his friend. "Well, lucky for you while you were slacking off, we've been looking into that." The Keyblade Master teased, ruffling his friend's hair and turning towards the door that would lead them into Yen Sid's chamber. "We might have just the answer you're looking for Sora." Sora huffed, fixing his hair quickly, before he looked at Riku with wide, surprised eyes. "Really? You guys figured something out?" Sora asked excitedly. He could feel excitement and joy well up inside of him, feelings that he knew didn't belong to him. Smiling slightly, he placed a hand over his heart comfortingly. "Hear that Roxas? There is a chance." He reassured softly. "Keep in mind, we don't know if it'll work and from the sounds of it, it's pretty complicated. But it's the only thing we have to work with right now." The Keyblade Master was glad to see Sora hopeful, but he also didn't want him to get his hopes up too high only to be crushed in the end. "There's a lot of work that goes into it and--" "Riku, it's okay!" Sora interrupted, crossing his arms behind his head in his usual carefree manner, a grin on his face. "It's a start and a step in the right direction. That's all we're looking for right now." Sora snickered when Riku looked at him incredulously. "'We're looking for'?" Riku repeated, though he had a feeling he knew who Sora was referring to. "Can you do me a favor? Thank Roxas for getting your lazy butt motivated." He laughed quietly when Sora's face changed to one of annoyance, before he went into full blown pouting. Apparently Roxas heard that loud and clear. "Shut up Roxas!" Sora whined out loud, groaning when he heard his Nobody laughing in the back of his mind. "He can hear you Riku. Man, why'd you have to get him started?" The brunette complained, though it was done so in good humor. Really, Sora wished Roxas would laugh more often. It was a nice sound and so sincere, he thought. "Ah, whatever. Let's go talk to Yen Sid." Riku nodded in agreement and pushed the door open. Not much had changed. Yen Sid was sitting at the desk, currently speaking to Mickey about something or another that seemed rather serious. Meanwhile, Lea sat to the side in a wooden chair, leaning back precariously on its back legs. And he was talking to someone rather familiar to Sora. "K-Kairi?!" The brunette sputtered, clearly surprised to see the girl. Everyone immediately stopped what they were doing and turned their attention to Sora. Kairi seemed more than pleased to see the Keyblade Wielder, immediately walking over and smiling softly. "I knew you'd come back." She said softly, wrapping her arms around his neck in a gentle hug. Sora immediately returned the embrace, smiling slightly. "We were getting worried. But I'm glad you're here now." Kairi stepped back, but not before kissing the brunette's cheek. Sora fought back a blush and smiled sheepishly, rubbing his neck with a weak laugh. "I'm surprised to see you Kairi." He admitted, looking around the room. Everyone seemed happy and relieved to see him, which only made him feel guilty. "I'm really sorry I worried everyone. I had some things I needed to sort out, but I'm back. I'm ready to help however I can." Sora clenched his fists and nodded determinedly. "Well, gosh Sora. Did you think that because you didn't pass the exam we wouldn't need your help? You still have an important part to play; we all do. We have to keep our hearts strong and stick together." Mickey said, looking up at the teen with a smile. Just like everyone else, he was glad to see Sora had returned safe. "Next time you decide to run off though, at least send us a postcard or something. You know, we like to know you're still breathing at least." Lea smirked when Sora made a face at him. "Seriously though, at least let us know where exactly you're going. Would've been nice to be able to check up on you now and then." "I am glad you've finally returned Sora." Yen Sid said suddenly, silencing everyone else. Sora immediately stood at attention, looking at Yen Sid seriously. The Wizard stroked his beard in thought, closing his eyes thoughfully. "I certainly hope you've managed to sort everything out. From here on out you will need to remain strong for yourself and for others if we are to defeat Xehanort. But enough about that for now. You have questions, do you not?" "Yes sir." Sora nodded, thinking over what he wanted to ask carefully. He had more than one question he needed an answer to. "Well, for one, I want to know about some things I saw during the exam." He started, looking down at the floor. "When I was trapped in the Nightmare, I saw all kinds of people and I knew they were hurting. I saw Roxas and Namine, those two I know. But then I saw some other people. First, there was this girl wearing one of the Organization robes with black hair. Then there was this big guy with brown hair and a girl with blue hair...they called me Ven. I felt so sad when I heard that name. And I could hear the pain in their voices when they said it. Do you know who they are?" "I do not know the girl in the Organization robe that you speak of. However, I believe that Mickey and I both know of the others you speak of; Terra, the man who succumbed to darkness and became Master Xehanort's vessel. Aqua, the young Keyblade Master that disappeared years ago after her friends had fallen. And young Ventus, the boy that lost his heart during the conflict with Master Xehanort so long ago." Yen Sid explained slowly, staring at Sora with a critical eye. "None of these individuals have been heard from in over ten years and Terra is the only one that we truly know the location of. Though, we have our suspicions about Ventus." “Ven was a special friend of mine. We didn’t get to know one another for very long, but we had a lot in common at the time. And from the first time I met him, I knew there was something special about his heart.” Mickey piped up, looking sad suddenly. “What happened to him and what happened to his friends wasn’t fair. They all had bright futures ahead of them. But Xehanort took that away from them.” “What happened to them?” Sora asked softly. He wanted the whole story if he could get it. If there was any clue as to how he could help them later on or give them a clue to where they may be, he wanted to know. “They were tricked by Xehanort. However, for the sake of your heart and those that sleep inside of you, I believe that is all we should say for now.” Yen Sid stated, shaking his head when it looked as if Sora may protest. “You must understand Sora the hurt that these individuals have faced is truly painful. We worry that it could potentially damage your heart if it is triggered in the wrong way.” The brunette still didn’t seem to understand, but judging by the seriousness in the Wizard’s voice it was a topic best left silent. “O-Okay…” He agreed, rubbing the back of his head nervously. “Well the last question I have for now is: do you think there’s a way that Roxas and I can separate from one another? You know, so he can be his own person.” “Actually, we just might!” Mickey said, almost excitedly. The little King reached into his pocket and pulled out a small shard, holding it up to the light for them all to see. It was a deep jade, glittering prettily in the light. “This right here.” “It’s called a Memory Shard.” Riku explained, noticing the brunette’s dumbfounded look. “We’ve been doing a lot of investigating since you left. Master Yen Sid has a lot of old books around and we found some legends about these shards and their connections with Keyblade Wielders.” “It turns out that if you five or more of these things together and then they come into contact with the person whose memories they represent, they can actually open a sort of doorway to that person’s heart.” Lea took his turn in the explanation, looking at Sora seriously. Of course he had taken a deep interest in this investigation when he heard what it could possibly do in the end. After all, he had a promise to fulfill; he’d bring Roxas back somehow. “And when they come into contact with a Keyblade Wielder, they have the power to create an object that is close to their heart: their Keyblade.” Yen Sid finished. Of course they all knew Sora wouldn’t catch on so easily, but the teen was obviously doing his best to understand what they were getting at. So they could get Roxas’ Keyblade? How did that help? Kairi smiled a bit at the lost look on Sora’s face and rested her hand on his shoulder. “A person’s Keyblade has a direct connection with its master’s heart. Now that Riku has the power to awaken sleeping hearts, he can use the Keyblade that’s created to release Roxas’ heart from inside of you without damaging your heart.” “Even though your hearts may be separated, it doesn’t mean your connection with Roxas will fade away. The two of you will still be connected and in a sense you’ll rely on each other. But gosh, if you’re already becoming such good friends, it shouldn’t be a problem.” Mickey walked closer and grabbed Sora’s hand, pushing the shard into his hand. The second the shard touched his hand, it began to glow with a blinding light and a sharp pain split through the brunette’s head. His hands immediately went to his head and he tried to get some kind of words out, but he couldn’t seem to form any coherent thoughts. “No way! I wanna go with you guys!” “You’re awful Aqua…” “Were you also ordered to take me home?” “I’m gonna go find Terra.” “Terra…Aqua…don’t do this. Please don’t leave me behind.” Sora let out a yell as he finally managed to uncurl his fingers from around the shard, letting it fall to the floor. He stumbled back, panting hard as the pain in his head slowly died away. Riku was behind him, holding him steady while everyone watched him with a mix of worry and wonder. “W-What was that…?” He asked shakily, blinking wildly in an attempt to clear the spots that danced along his vision. “The Memory Shards are created when a strong heart experiences some form of strong emotion. Happiness, anger, hatred, even grief can create these small shards. They react when they come into contact with their creator and are able to remind people of what they were feeling at that time.” Yen Sid watched Sora with a critical eye, glancing between him and the shard. “I found that shard in Radiant Garden not too long ago when we found some of the books on the Memory Shards. Excavating these things isn’t easy, but it’s usually pretty easy to tell when they’re near. The Heartless are drawn to them, so they gather in large groups when one is nearby.” Mickey explained, picking the shard up once more. “Maybe I should hang on to it for right now though. Don’t want you going through anymore of those spells. So what did you see Sora?” “I didn’t see anything.” Sora steadied himself, smiling reassuringly to Riku who finally let his hand drop away. “I heard a voice. He sounded…upset and scared, like he was afraid that his friends were going to leave him behind. He was talking about Terra and Aqua.” Mickey let out a small, hopeful laugh, his ears perking up as he looked back at Yen Sid. “Talking about Terra and Aqua! Then that has to be…?” “Hm…it would seem so.” Yen Sid nodded his head, looking at Sora seriously. “It seems we have finally found Ventus’ heart.” *** Well, that's the end of that chapter! I really hope you all enjoy it and thanks for reading!
  12. INDEX: The World of Kingdom Hearts Yggdrasil, The World Tree: Believed to be the source of all life, at the core of it is supposed to be an entity of pure light known as Kingdom Hearts. Yggdrasil contains 9 worlds, two of which have been discovered so far. Travel between those nine worlds is extremely difficult and requires individuals who've trained for many, many years in harsh environments.
  13. Introduction There are things i like and don't like about the Kingdom Hearts series. The things i do like are the concepts of the overall Keyblade War Mythos and stuff like Organization XIII. What urks me the wrong way though are the Disney characters, because i feel that they stick out like a soar thumb what with the serious storyline and epic battles. What i am gonna do with this story is im going to take elements from Kingdom Hearts, remove the Disney stories and make my own story with elements from Tetsuya Nomura's works. Think Garfield Minus Garfield, but Kingdom Hearts Minus Disney.
  14. SYNOPSIS Taking place mostly on Radiant Garden/Hollow Bastion after the Keyblade War, and centers around three veterans of the war. The story is mostly intended to be a deconstruction/reconstruction of Kingdom Hearts tropes. Like for example, the wide-eyed idealist character, after the war becomes a mercenary for hire. What do you guys think?

Promise me you'll continue living.... " ~ Sakura

  17. I've just published my film/cinema review of Disney's BIG HERO 6 and I also talk about Kingdom Hearts too in reference to Kingdom Hearts III! Hope you enjoy! You can see the review below or on my website via the link below. What do you think of the review? Any good? Fair? Comments are most welcome below, and on my website too. BIG HERO 6 REVIEW andrew-hankinson.co.uk/film/bighero6/ Hi-ho, Andrew the Hank here with yet another spectacular film review! Sorry for the delay; it’s been a month since I’ve seen the film! Busy, busy, busy with BA, Dominos, etc. So without further delay lets gets on with it; THE FOLLOWING CONTENT CONTAINS SCENES OF STRONG SPOILERS! The 54th Walt Disney animation, BIG HERO 6! Hiro is a boy genius who doesn’t utilise his potential until his brother Tadashi introduces him to his ‘nerd’ school, his friends (Fred, Wasabi, Honey-Lemon and Go-go) and his latest creation; an inflatable health care robot called Baymax. Hiro is inspired and when he attempts to be accepted by the school, tragedy befalls and Tadashi dies in a fire at the school. Hiro discovers the fire wasn’t accidental as initially thought and teams up with Baymax and Tadashi’s friends to track down and capture the culprit. After using the same qualities found in all Disney films (family members dead/in deep distress, heroic sacrifices, humorous sidekicks, merchandising) and the same life lessons (having friends is good, love conquers, believe in yourself, keep moving forward), Big Hero 6 has become another Disney classic and even won the best animated film at the Oscars this year. For this film it was the Saltcoats Premier Cinema again with my aunt and papa (yes, that’s what I call my granddad). We went for the 11:30 showing and the short film started exactly at that time, when we came in. Forgot the adverts were before the showing time; should have remembered after seeing Guardians of the Galaxy here. Anyway we came in as it started so grabbed the first seats we could find at the front in the centre. The seats were good, the picture quality was great and the sound was ok; it wasn’t louder than Odeon, but it was acceptable. I realised half way through the film that I didn’t see if my papa had his hearing aids in or on, so there was a possibility he couldn’t hear the film; he tends to stick them in and use them more as earplugs than hearing aids. It turns out he didn’t have them in, but it was loud enough for him to hear. So yes as soon as we got into the cinema a short film called “Feast” was played before Big Hero 6; it is through the point-of-view of a gluttonous dog who watches the relationship between his owner and their girlfriend through the meals they share. I thought it was good (it won the award for best short film at the Oscars this year as well) but I wouldn’t say it was my favourite; Paperman is still my favourite short film at the moment. I liked the short’s use of colour with the unhealthy food and with the green coloured food representing the girlfriend, but felt it had similar uses of connotations as Paperman. There is so much popularity with superhero films in recent years, and Disney creating a feature length animation with Marvel inspiration was a great idea. San Fransokoyo is brilliant and beautiful, combining the American superhero culture and the Japanese origins of the original Big Hero 6. It has the layout, hills, tram system and Golden Gate bridge of San Francisco with Japanese aesthetics to it (modern buildings, streets and neon lights; and traditional buildings, gardens and cherry blossom trees); it essentially looks like a futuristic version of San Francisco. The scene with Hiro and Baymax flying around the city was brilliant, but I feel that way of showing off the location and animation was nicked from How To Train Your Dragon. We wanted to see the Stan Lee clip after the credits but decided not to wait till the very end since no one else was there apart from the cleaner. I managed to find it on YouTube though (imagine it won’t be there for long) and thought it was great. Stan Lee’s caricature was brilliantly done and was a great addition; just wish we stayed to see it. I KNEW Krei wasn’t the villain! It was a twist within a twist for me; once the main characters start suspecting someone, you know immediately it won’t be them (this is Scooby Doo basics), but I was thinking the guy behind the mask was going to be Tadashi. In the end I was still surprised, but I was like Hiro and couldn’t get over Tadashi’s death; maybe I just watch too many Marvel films (except Spider-man films – everyone dies in them). And why was Baymax’s sacrifice so emotional?! Even while I was watching it I was thinking he’s a robot and Hiro could easily create another, yet I thought it was sad. Maybe it was the “I will always be with you” moment. The final scene/pose with all six of them was pretty epic too…but kinda nicked off the final scene from How To Train Your Dragon again. Overall I think Big Hero 6 is a great Disney animation and can be titled a classic unlike other Disney films; eh–Black Cauldron–hem! But here’s the big question: do I think it’s better than Frozen? It’s hard to say which is better because the films are two different styles/ genres of Disney animations; typical split into Disney’s take on classical fairy tales and original modern style stories. Both are brilliant in their own rights and can be liked by all ages and genders, but I would say Frozen is probably more popular because girly girls who love princesses will buy (or at least torment their parents endlessly until they buy) the tons of merchandising like dolls, toys, dresses and sing alongs. Whereas Big Hero 6 isn’t as musical; it’s more action packed and probably more for wee boys who imagine and aspire to be heroes and Marvel/Disney geeks like me. It’s slightly sexist, but true – let it go! The next in line with Disney animations is Zootropolis (Zootopia in America) set to release on 4th of March, 2016, about a modern city filled with animal inhabitants, and Lt. Judy Hopp (a rabbit) trying to prove herself in the police force by investigating and cracking a case; …strange but interesting. Apart from that, the next animated film related to Disney is Pixar’s Inside Out (releasing on 24th of July 2015). I am intrigued by the idea (personified emotions in people’s heads), but have no idea how Pixar will use it. I feel it would have more benefit as a short film, but I trust Pixar to do a good job as they haven’t done wrong with their films yet (with very slight exceptions for Cars 2 and Brave). I remember questioning Up when the teaser trailer first came out, but now it’s up there as one of the most popular Pixar, if not animated, films of all time. Will there be a sequel to Big Hero 6? There is a lot the Disney animators could do with this concept and I would love to see the characters and their world again (maybe other famous cities with Japanese aesthetics about them), but I feel like Disney and Marvel are already rolling in the money with their superhero films, and should maybe let DC Comics take the floor for a while. Big Hero 6 is absolutely fine on its own, and if they were to make a sequel it should be worth it and not just for cash. The two directors (Don Hall and Chris Williams) are still recovering from their hard work on this film and haven’t talked about a sequel, but in Don mentioned, “we love these characters, and the thought of working with them again some day definitely has its appeal.” Fist bump – balalalala! In my last review I talked about video games (specifically Children of Men’s connection to The Last of Us) and I feel it’s appropriate in this review to include the video game franchise, Kingdom Hearts. A video game franchise that combines the characters from Square Enix games like Final Fantasy and The World Ends With You, and the characters and worlds of Disney films like Lion King, Nightmare Before Christmas, Beauty and the Beast, Pirates of the Caribbean and Tron. There is much speculation as to what worlds/characters will feature in the next game in the series, Kingdom Hearts 3, with the possible inclusions of Wreck-it Ralph, Frozen, or even the Pixar, Star Wars, or Avenger films, but I would like to talk about Big Hero 6 as a valid candidate. Big Hero 6 I think would be brilliant, not just for the modern and varied characters, enticing storyline or its beautiful visual appearance, but I think the exploration/side missions could be great in San Fransokyo! After completing the world’s main storyline, you could pair up with different members of Big Hero 6 and do heroic work through the streets of the city. To date none of the 3D Disney animation (except Chicken Little’s character as a summon) have featured in Kingdom Hearts, so will be interesting to see how they adapt to the game’s look. The two remastered games of Kingdom Hearts (1.5 HD ReMIX and 2.5 HD ReMIX) are available to buy for PlayStation 3. Kingdom Hearts 3 has been highly anticipated for many years and there still isn’t a release date, but I reckon it will release during the first half of 2017 (my opinion, not fact!). Well that’s it for another review! Big Hero 6 was another triumph and has merited the title of “Classic Disney animation” for it’s beautiful visuals, interesting and action-packed storyline, great characters, and it’s typical Disney lessons. Feast was good, but hasn’t become my favourite short film. Kingdom Hearts is a great video game franchise; give it a try. And the Premier Cinema was fine; sound, seats and picture quality was good. Before I go, I shall leave a clue for my next review: there are no strings on me! And on that bomb-shell, I hope you are satisfied with your care. 18. Prologue - Alphabets "A is the letter of beginning. Z is the letter of the end. These alphabets are the symbol of words for the people like us in the world that uses to describe ourselves; our look, our personalities, and of course....our name. Without it,it could be nothing for us. That Letter was a bridge that leads to who we are. However, there was a tale where people obtain only of their name and a letter of their own, were trying to find an answer of the letter's true existence and their hidden personifications within those letters of themselves. All for their answers of their existence. These people who seek letters were known as Nominas. These Nominas are able to perform a power that came from those Letters itself, making them a supernatural being. As that power of the Letters was the key to awaken the Nomina's hidden selves,it is the Letters that will unravel it's deeper truths. Thus, there will be a conflict of the Nominas where the waging war will be the personification's naught. And for that, I would like to tell you this tale in the next time we meet. Farewell..." To be continued...

  20. SO I GOTTA WRITE A CHILDREN'S STORY FOR A TECHNOLOGY STUDENTS ASSOCIATION STATE COMPETITION. AND THIS IS ALL I'VE GOT. IS THERE ANY WHY YOU GUYS CAN HELP ME MAKE IT BETTER? I've gotta make sure children understand it. Also can you guys try to point out my mistakes? Communication story Main character- Megan, a deaf girl. She cannot hear, and was born like that. She is 8 years old and uses different ways to communicate with her friends, and grandparents. Age Aimed- Aimed towards children in grades 3-5th ~~~~~~ This is Megan. She's eight years old, and is deaf. Deaf means that she can't hear. So how does she communicate with people? Communication is a big word for talking with others. You may be able to talk with people at school, but Megan can't hear people she is talking to. Even though Megan is deaf, she can still speak, and the people speaking to her have to use Sign Language. Sign Language is a language of the lands, and if you want to talk to Megan, you have to talk with her with your hands. Megan has other ways to talk to people with her Grandparents over the phone. When she wants to call her papa, she uses her cautioned telephone. Usually when you use a telephone, you hear what the other person is saying, but Megan's telephone shows what the other person is saying on a screen that she can read. Even though Megan may not be able to hear, she can still live normally with a little bit of help. She can watch TV with the words at the bottom, and can email people as well. Megan is just like you and me, so treat her well, and try to learn sign language so nobody can be left out!
  21. Hey. Just thought I'd start posting about my film reviews here since I'm gradually going into game reviews, and will hopefully be including Kingdom Hearts in my next film review which I'll hopefully get done in the next few weeks! Also because there may be film fanatics out like myself and may be interested. Anyway I've just published my film/cinema review of Alfonso Cuarón's CHILDREN OF MEN and I also talk a lot about Naughty Dog's THE LAST OF US video game too as there is quite a big link between the film and the game! Hope you enjoy! You can see the review on my website via the link below: http://andrew-hankinson.co.uk/film/children-of-men/ I also have a whole selection of other reviews below if you're interested as well: The LEGO Movie Captain America: The Winter Soldier The Amazing Spiderman 2 Maleficent Guardians of the Galaxy Doctor Who – Deep Breath What We Did On Our Holiday It’s A Wonderful Life Kingsman: The Secret Service Children of Men
  22. A young man, semi-handsome with brunette hair is walking the streets of New York. Then all of a sudden he hears a police siren and sees a group of people surrounding something, he tries to run towards them, unfortunately it is his uncle (Ben Parker). When Peter Parker is near him, Uncle Ben whispers something into his ear. A feeling of rage overwhelmes him as he runs from the crowd and puts on his Spidey costume. Cut to an abandoned building as a criminal (his face is covered in shadow) is panicked that he can't escape the cops. The criminal hears a creak, and then sees Spider-Man being very angry-like and is close to beating him to a pulp. SPIDER-MAN: ''WHO ARE YOU? WHY DID YOU SHOOT HIM?'' The criminal reveals his face to be none other than Peter Parker himself CRIMINAL: ''Wouldn't you like to know?'' He laughs in a clichéd evil laugh as a black gooey-thing surrounds Peter Parker This is all just a PTSD-induced dream Now for the real tone of the movie Peter Parker has been Spider-Man for a couple of months, he picks up a newspaper that has just entered the mail-lounge-thingy. The paper headline says ''MASKED MENACE SPIDER-MAN CONTINUES HIS CRUSADE, by J JONAH JAMESON'' ''PICTURE COURTESY OF PETER PARKER'' Peter Parker is in a not-so-shiny looking apartment where he is eating a 5-dollar sandwich for breakfast. Telephone: ''RING'' It's a message by J Jonah Jameson: ''You're late, Parker! Bring in new pictures of Spider-Man or you're fired!'' Peter: ''Typical'' Another message, it's Mary Jane Watson: ''You awake, tiger?'' Peter smiles thinking ''Well, life isn't all bad.'' Peter gets off his chair and as he leaves his apartment, the camera cuts to his closet where his iconic red and blue Spidey costume is. LOGO: Spider-Man
  23. This is basically an idea i have for a series of Power Rangers fanfics, on this topic i'll mention the title and the intended tone MAGES OF THE FOREST (Mystic Force/Magiranger) - Merlin, but set in modern times SPACE PATROL DELTA (SPD/Dekaranger) - Agents of SHIELD LIGHTSPEED RESCUE (Lightapeed Rescue/GoGoV) - Thunderbirds meets Buffy the Vampire Slayer What do u guys think?
  24. VARIETY, APPROACH & TONE What i like about the recent MARVEL movies/TV Shows, is that none of them feels like a carbon copy of the other. One day you might get a political/conspiracy thriller in the form of a spy story (CAPTAIN AMERICA: Winter Soldier) and the other you might get a space-opera swashbuckling action-comedy (GUARDIANS) Even though there is one guy who comes up with all these ideas (Kevin Fiege) he allows his directors and scriptwriters to bring in their own vision on board. FLAWED CHARACTERS None of these characters are perfect, even though they have all these cool powers (a hi-tech armor, a hammer that manipulates lightning etc) they still have the flaws that any normal person would have. Tony Stark is a billionaire with a vast intelligence, and yet he is still distracted by the pleasures of alcohol and sex Thor, he is just Thor, the god of thunder from Norse mythology the power to manipulate the weather via Mjolnir (or myuh-myuh). And yet he is an arrogant jerk with a big ego. SYMPATHETIC VILLAINS Loki was lied to his entire life about being a son of Asgard and when you find out that he is actually a Frost Giant all along you understand why he is all pissed off. And, from what i've heard about Ultron in the upcoming Avengers sequel he is going to have that same quality of character development. HUMOR & DIALOGUE You can't have a good story without some good dialogue and humor. IT INTRODUCED ME TO JOSS WHEDON Nuff Said
  25. PHASE ONE (Street Level) To start with, and to easily introduce people to my universe, i'll start street level. Daredevil VS Punisher: Crime and Punishment - Spring 2015 ''Blinded by a chemical as a kid, Matt Murdock is a lawyer-by-day, and vigilante-by-night who defends his hometown from crime boss The Kingpin'' Sensational Spider-Man - Summer 2015 ''Orphaned as a young boy, Peter Benjamin Parker is bitten by a genetically altered Spider and has to learn the hard way that 'With great power comes great responsibility' '' These are the stories i have in mind so far, i'll update it
