  1. Tonight I really wish the world was silent I've got strangers at my door and in my house Notice I did not say home, Because I'm not home with all these shouts echoing out. I hear her crying, and him screaming to get out (These walls are too thin, they'll never hold for my nightmares at 2 AM) And Im stuck hiding in my closet with muffled sobbing Wondering if the angels knew What having family problems was all about. Actually, I'm the one who doesn't know- I won't turn the lights off any more at night I see my future in five years Just close the door and lock it tight Good night, good night, good night. There isn't anything wrong with me, the world, or this house- But please, turn it ( lock it) away - n o, s t a y - I'm having trouble blocking it out. These words, my songs, our screams They don't mean anything. Why can't it all go quiet? Can I say I wish the world was silent? All right, all right, all right.
  2. Hey guys! It's been a while since I last posted something here... so here goes a story I just started! Sorry for any typos but I kind of wrote this in a hurry. Please tell me what you thought of it after you're done reading it Thanks in advance Chapter I – My promise It all happened in 1976, during a day and month I cannot recall anymore. Fortunately, such details won’t be necessary to understand this story. I was fifteen – and all of those years I had lived only with my mom, since my father had never showed up until that point. This scenario pained my mother so much – but she did all she could to pretend to be happy to me, even though I could easily recognize the deep sadness behind each of her many forced smiles. When you’re a child living with only one other person, you HAVE to learn how to things by yourself. Also, it forces you to develop the thought that it’s necessary for you to help that special person. After all, they’re doing their best to raise you – while others just vanished from sight when they learned of your existence. That was the logic that I learned through personal experience. As you can see, my mother and I had a real special bond – she was, of course, the person I loved the most in this world. She didn’t earn much with her job as a secretary, but with our cooperation, we managed to go through all of these years without heavy problems. Oh – I forgot to mention – I have a brother, Derik, who is three years younger than me. Another detail is that we’re “half-brothers”. Mom found another guy when I was two – but regrettably – history repeated itself and my stepfather disappeared just like my father did years before. To an outsider, it would seem like a curse had been put on her. Although I do not agree with that hypothesis, I can say that (unfortunately) my mother didn’t come to this world to live a perfect life. Her life could hardly be considered good – she never really lived, but rather survived. Remember that I said that something happened in 1976? Well, I guess this is the right time to spoil it to you: mom was assaulted and murdered by an eighteen years old guy. He was probably drugged at that time – but if he was or not drugged didn’t matter in the slightest for me – anger and hatred consumed me from the moment I learned of the incident (would it be considered an incident?!) until the day I managed to settle the score. Maybe some people would say that dying like that was a fitting ending to such a hard life – but that was because it wasn’t THEIR mother that died that day. The death of my mother changed me completely – I became another person. Looking back, I can say that I shouldn’t have been overrun by the bad feelings, but I just couldn’t avoid it at that time. Jason McRey – that was the name of the guy that murdered my mother. If there’s something I’ll never forget, it is that name. After my mother died, my brother and I were sent to live with our grandmother. She was just as destroyed as we were. After all, one should never have to bury a son or a daughter – it is a sadness that takes approximately fifty years to recover from. As time eased my pain, only one word remained in my head: vengeance. I would make that idiot pay – even at the cost of my own life. It became my life’s ultimate goal. I knew that it wouldn’t be an easy task. To accomplish it, I needed to gather as much information as possible about that criminal – so that I could finally plan a flawless strategy to put him out of his misery. I made a promise to myself that I would only rest when I was sure that Jason had had what he deserved – and with it being done by my own two hands! Chapter II – Taken over by Hatred Something important to note is that my brother was never a prisoner of hatred nor did he want to get revenge – he was the purest person I’ve ever met. I remember that he used to tell me that I should just forget all about that and move on. But I couldn’t. I am that type of person that when they put something in their head, they’ll accomplish it no matter what. Now that I think of it, I never paid any attention to my brother’s advices – maybe if I had, things wouldn’t have ended the way they did. However, as many people say: it is folly to put “what if” in anything at all since what is done IS done. Jason was sentenced to three years of jail – but I bet he was released from it earlier. That’s just how the justice system works. As part of my strategy to find him later on my life, I developed the habit of buying the newspaper every day. I knew that I would read countless newspapers, but that didn’t matter – I knew that one day I would find Jason and then I would finally fulfill my life’s true goal. As years passed, I was faced with the decision of choosing a course to take on college. Having remarkable grades and a consistent background, I managed to get into one of the country’s best colleges. To my happiness (that is, if I could ever feel any spark of happiness at all), it was a Liberal Arts College, which meant that I didn’t have to choose my main course right away. Since I had kind of developed an obsession for reading about crimes, I decided to take as many classes related to the law and its application as possible (but I also took other classes such as Chemistry and Arts). The time for me to decide my main course finally arrived. I knew exactly what to choose – I would study the law and probably become a lawyer or a judge. You could say that a positive point of my experience in 1976 (if there is any positive point of having your mother murdered by a mad teenager), was that it had helped me choose in what area I would be spending the rest of my days. Have you noticed how I have written a lot about my college but have not mentioned my brother or my grandmother since the start of this chapter? Well, if you didn’t, don’t worry – it also took a while for me to notice how obsessed I was with my vengeance. Actually, I never noticed that – not until after I had accomplished it. Nowadays, it pains me to see that I have actually forgotten to live my own life, because all the time I had been trapped by the bad feelings that had taken control over me. Just to tell you what happened to them: Brother kept living with grandmother until he finished High School and passed to a medium college in another state. As for granny, she died when I was about to finish College. I feel ashamed for saying this, but I guess there’s no choice, is there? I was so taken over by my wish of revenge that granny’s death did not have the slightest effect on me. Brother, on the other hand, was demolished by it – luckily, we didn’t study in the same college so I didn’t have to bear with him crying all the time. I have also never been much of a lover – it was as if my heart had closed itself to all good feelings. This doesn’t mean that I didn’t have girlfriends; on the contrary, I had a large number of girlfriends. The problem was that I saw them as disposable tools, not as human beings that have feelings. Maybe that’s the reason for why I never had a relationship longer than a month. This happened because I always forgot to buy a present for the first month together and also because I did not care enough for them to come up with good lies. But enough of useless subjects such as love – it’s necessary to return to the main point of this story. My graduation finally came – it took place on December 19th, 1983. Don’t ask me how it was because I did not go to it. In that very day, while I was reading the newspaper, I found Jason’s name in the criminal section. He had committed yet another crime, but managed to escape this time. I remember how happy I was reading that paper – as if I had won millions of dollars in the lottery. That was the chance I had been looking for during all of these years, and I would not miss it for anything in the world – not even for my graduation.

  4. 1. The series would have an ongoing story with an amnesiac Doctor trying to find out where the hell he came from, with his first word being 'Galifrey' 2. His companion would be a chinese-american female who is actually a half-Dalek mutant 3. UNIT would be an organization that would be frequently referred to in the series via easter eggs similar to 'Vote Saxon' or 'Bad Wolf' where they would be mentioned in conversations or internet conspiracy sites until they finally appear in the second season What do you guys think so far
  5. Here are a couple ideas for a what-if scenario where i wrote the HP books, same universe but different author 1. Instead of trying to kill Harry, Voldemort 'adopts' him and decides to train him himself because he doesn't want Harry to be influenced by muggle-lovers 2. in my story, Harry is an anti-hero 3. sometime during the beginning of the first book, Harry discovers that Voldemort has lied to him his entire life and comes across Dumbledore and he signs him up to Hogwarts where he is not really liked by most students, and he is admitted to Slytherin 4. The first book would be about Harry trying to stand up and convince other people by saying ''Hey, look, my adopted dad may have been a dick that kills people but i am not like him!''

  10. This was my first time doing something like this. I've been wanting to do it for quite some time but wasn't confident. Thanks to my little Bro, who asked if I wanted to RP with him, this story was made.We alternated writing each part, letting the other continue the story and here is the result.Enjoy! Roxy will post Day 2 as soon as we finish it.DAY 1Running away from a group of nobodies that had surrounded him, Roxas ran through the seemingly never ending hallway with a pant. Soon enough, the blond found himself inside a weird room, it was mostly empty except an oval-shaped... statue? Roxas walked closer, his head tilting from side to side, carefully examining the oval shape in front of him. "What could this be..? Uh?!---" Taken back by a weird noise, Roxas jumped, swiftly summoning his Keyblade as his eyes were fixated on the white oval, that was now slowly opening right before his own eyes. "Uh-- Someone's inside." As he peeked inside slightly, Roxas noticed a petite sleeping figure. "Sora--" The blond spoke almost unconsciously, his fingers resting on his bottom lip in shock. "So we meet, finally..." The blonde’s gaze was now fixated onto the sleepy spiky haired boy, his lips curled into a small, reassured smile.Sora slowly opens his eyes, after a long sleep. Still a little groggy, he checks his surroundings, not sure of what he is doing there. The only thing he knows is his name and that he has a Keyblade.“What was I doing, again? I feel like I was on something important…”Naminè wasn’t able to fully restore his memories, although all of the people related to Sora had theirs properly fixed. Roxas was the one who, unwillingly, possesses his somebody’s memories sealed within him. After coming to his senses, Sora noticed a blonde boy staring at him. He stepped out of the oval shaped object he found himself in and kneeled to the ground, feeling dizzy yet.“Uh, my head…”Roxas stepped closer to Sora, as the sleepy boy gave out a painful scream while holding his head.“Ahhhhhhh, what are these images?”A redheaded girl……A tall boy……..Glimpses of the ocean, the night sky, a raft, black monsters, roses….Startled by such reaction, Roxas stepped back, action to which Sora responds calming down.Blinking in confusion at the other's sudden reaction, Roxas quickly gets down to his knees, placing his hand over the brunet's shoulder, giving it a light squeeze. "Sora, are you alright?" His tone was calm, yet firm. He wondered if Sora knew him yet, or at least recognized him. Tilting his head to the side, Roxas gave the other a concerned look, eagerly waiting for an answer.Sora, his head throbbing, looked at the other boy’s eyes. For some reason he didn’t understand, he felt relieved for having that unknown person beside him. Glimpses of familiar, yet unknown images ravaged his mind, as if reacting to the blonde boy’s touch.“I, ouch… who…”Sora collapsed."Sora!" Letting out a loud gasp, the blond quickly reached for the other, carefully picking him up as he held his hand out, opening a portal that led to the outer mansion's garden, to the entrance. Not thinking twice, Roxas walked in, holding Sora still as they soon were out of that weird room. "We should be safe, for now..." Making sure no one was around, Roxas ran into the forest, finding a good spot for them to hide. Relieved, the blond placed his other self down against a tree, leaning closer to his face as he moved a lock of chocolate brown hair behind the other's ear. "Hey, Sora, wake up."“Uhhhh…..”Sora groaned while opening his eyes. He was now in a completely different place, but that boy was still beside him.“Am I having a nightmare or something?” He dizzily thought to himself while looking to the person that was with him. Suddenly, he heard a noise as a swirling mass of darkness appeared out of nothing behind the blonde boy; through it stepped out a red haired man in a black coat."Sora! You're awake!" Smiling brightly at the other, Roxas leant down to examine his face better. "Are you feeling better now?" Just when the blond thought he was finally safe, familiar footsteps echoed behind him, a tall skinny figure approaching the two. Turning around, the blond faced the man who claimed to be his 'best friend'. "Axel, what do you want?"“’What do I want?’ I’m here to take you back, of course! I thought you were going to disappear, but now that you’re here, we can go back, they won’t erase you!”"But-- I can't leave Sora here... And-- If my memories aren't playing tricks on me, the Organization isn't the safest place for Sora to stay." The blond sighed, looking down as he clutched his hands into fists. "Why don't you come with us, instead?"Sora was quietly listening to those people’s conversation. He felt a pain in his chest, something he could tell was sorrow, but he didn’t know why he felt it. Deep in his thoughts, the confused boy looked at Roxas and realized that sorrow was somehow flowing from the young boy to him.“…come with us instead?” When Sora heard these words, he grabbed Roxas’ arm.“…ome with you.”As the other faced the redhead, Roxas felt the other's hand tugging his own arm. Turning his head towards Sora, Roxas spoke. "What is it, Sora...?"“I want to come with you.”"You mean… join the Organization with me..?""I... I don't know what you're talking about... I don't know who you are; I don't even know what I'm doing here... But my Heart is telling me that I should do it... That that guy is going to be real sad if you don't come back with him... So... I'll come with you."Looking back at Axel for a brief time, Roxas stared at the other's emerald eyes, somehow, Sora had already figured out what Axel felt, how did he even managed to?"Axel, can we really… let him come with us…?“I’m fine with it as long as they don’t erase YOU.”Feeling his cheeks turning slightly red, Roxas looked down briefly. "Ax… Thank you." His face lifted up to the red head, giving him a sincere smile as he looked back at the brunet, grabbing his arm. "Come on Sora, let's go."Sora was still dizzy after seeing all those images inside his head. They seemed to have settled down. He could only remember who he was, memories which were very fragmented, however. The young boy didn’t bother asking those people, since he didn’t know what was going on. He just felt that going with them was the right thing to do at the moment. When he stood up after Roxas grabbed his arm, a name came to his mind, though. “Kairi”.The 3 faded away into darkness. When they got out of it, Sora saw himself in a circular room full of tall chairs, with other cloaked people.Looking around the familiar white round room, Roxas looked up at Xemnas, then at Xigbar, who was smirking down at him and then at Saix, who glared at Axel. "Welcome back." Said Xemnas, looking down at them. "What's going to happen to us now..?” replied Roxas. The Superior of the In-Between let out a sinister laugh. After Naminè had messed up Sora’s memories, he had planned to use Xion to hold onto them, making it impossible for the brunet to wake up. Although this plan failed, he noticed that Roxas was managing to do Xion’s job, even if unintentionally, what made Sora into the puppet he had wanted.“Who would think that we would get our hands on the Hero? With both Somebody and Nobody, the ones chosen by the Keyblade in our Organization, we can achieve our goal at last. No. 13 Roxas: The Key of Destiny, you shall be forgiven for leaving the Organization. Let us celebrate the arrival of a new member. After we dealt with the traitors, some sits are empty. No. 12 Sora: The Keyblade Hero.”Holding onto the brunet's arm still, Roxas lowered his head once more, his eyes fixated on the hard ground below as he let out a small sigh. He didn't quite dislike the place, nor the people, but something surely did seem strange. "Thank you; I shall do my best, Lord Xemnas." Roxas' ocean blue orbs glared at the golden ones before him, turning towards Axel. "Thanks for bringing us back. I wouldn't have been here if it wasn't for you. You saved me from being erased."Sora paid attention to everything around him, trying to better understand his situation. After the long silver haired man finished talking, Saix approached him, something in his hands.“Wear this. You won’t last long going through Corridors of Darkness in normal clothes.”“T-thank you” Sora replied, as to which Saix simply replied with a “hmpf” and went back to his sit.Xenmas started talking again: “You are now dismissed. I shall give your missions later”. As he said this, all the members disappeared in a gulf of Darkness; only Roxas, Sora and Axel remained.“Uh, Roxas, right? What did he mean by ’somebody and nobody’? What am I supposed to do now?” Sora asked his nobody."Come with me" Roxas simply said, "Let's go to our rooms, so you can get changed. We'll talk once you're done, alright? And yeah, Roxas, you got it right." The blond chuckled, placing his hand ontop of his shoulder.“Then I’m going to take some rest. See you later Roxas. You explain things to Sora, got it memorized?”“Yeah.”Sora was taken to his room by Roxas. Once there, he put on his cloak, not really knowing the reason. He thought it was some kind of uniform for the members.“Ok, I’m done changing. I’m… kinda very confused… I woke up and all this stuff happened… I don’t even know why I was sleeping in the first place…”"Alright, sleep well Axel!" Waving at his best friend, Roxas proceeded to go to Sora's room, quietly sitting down on the bed as he waited for the other to come out."You and me are the same person. I'm you, and you're me. Your memories were 'injected' into me when you sacrificed yourself to save your best friend, Kairi. It's kinda hard to explain, but I know all you need to know. We can't do much right now, but trust me, me and Axel will make sure everything will go back to how it was, hopefully we'll find a way to avoid having me erased once you get your memories back." The blond let out a low laugh, it made his chest hurt just imagining how he would have been erased if Sora had awaken before Roxas could find him.“We’re the same person? And I sacrificed myself for… Kairi? I don’t understand…”"....." Roxas didn't speak, he just went closer to the brunet, holding the other's hands in his own. "See for yourself…"Sora felt a zap in his head as he screamed in excruciating pain, images ravaging his mind. Roxas let go of his hand, startled by the already known reaction. As he did, Sora fell to his side on the bed, feeling exhausted.Roxas let out a sigh, knowing that it would cause the other to pass out. Saying nothing at all, the blond sat down on the other's bed, bringing his knees close to his chest as he rested his head ontop of them, looking silently at the fast asleep brunet. "Sora..." He simply whispered. When Sora woke up, he found himself sleeping on Roxas’ lap. He quickly got up and looked at the blond. “Roxas…” Through Roxas’ memories, Sora learned about the Organization and the Nobodies. The link he had with his nobody, but that had been severed due to the memory loss was back again. He could also have his memory about becoming a Heartless back. All memories beside these were still foggy and the name Kairi was still but a meaningless word in his head. Simply put, now Sora knew what the organization was and who its members were; but nothing else.“Seems I was out good, huh?” No. 12 said to Roxas in a much familiar way."You were..." Roxas chuckled, placing his hand ontop of the brunet's soft spikes, stroking them unconsciously. "Feeling better? Want food? Maybe a drink?" He asked, smiling.“I feel dizzy. And I’m really hungry.” Since Sora’s only memories were about the Organization, he now felt he belonged in that place."Come on, let's go get something to eat!" He smiled widely, grabbing his arm and pulling him up, running out of the room as he suddenly stopped infront of the redhead's room, snickering to himself as he turned towards Sora. "Ssshh." He slowly opened the door, eyeing the fast asleep red head as he quickly dived for the other's bed, jumping on it. "Wake up, Axel!"“The hell?”"Can you help us cook something? Sora's hungry and so am I."“Sora?” Axel looked at the spiky haired boy.“Hey, Axel!” Sora replied to his gaze.Axel then became puzzled. “What happened? I thought that because of the memory loss he would be all airheaded and gloomy like you were when you arrived here.”"Let's just say I gave him a 'hand' remembering." The blond laughed, hopping off the emerald eyed male's bed. "So? Are you gonna help us or not?"“Hmmm okay. Let’s cook something, I’m hungry too.”"Alright!" Roxas smiled at the other, walking close to the brunet as he whispered "Let's hope he doesn't burn the kitchen down, like he always does!" The blond snorted, covering his mouth as he walked out of the room, making his way to the kitchen.Sora followed them. On their way, they crossed paths with Xigbar. After getting some distance, No. 2 summoned his Sharp Shooters and shot at Sora, who summoned his Keyblade and deflected the projectile.“Hooo, looks like you still know how to use the Keyblade”.Sora grinned and threw his weapon at the sniper, who warped away. Sora quickly dashed to the place he had warped to. Xigbar pointed his weapons at Sora’s face. “What do you want to do without your key…” Before he could finish, the keyblade that was flying to the opposite direction disappeared, reappearing is Sora’s hands, pointing at Xigbar’s neck.”“Try me again.” Sora said bluntly.Looking at the two, Roxas' jaw dropped open. Mostly shocked at how fast Sora was. "Leave us alone, Xigbar. You can fight him later or something." He puffed out his cheeks, feeling rather annoyed. "You did good though, Sora. I'm sure it'll be fun going out for missions with you.""As if! Boss asked me to see if No.12 was really going to be of use. I don't want to waste my time fighting him anyway." Xigbar replied to Roxas as he walked away and added. "He passed."Sora looked at Roxas with a victorious look on his face.Chuckling, Roxas highfived the brunet, keeping a smirk on his face. "Don't worry too much about him, he's a good guy, he just likes to tease other members a lot."The three resumed their way to the kitchen and, after eating, Axel told Roxas:“Hey, why don’t we go to the place? We’ll probably become quite busy from tomorrow on.”"Sure thing, I haven't had some in ages anyway." The blond looked at Sora. "You want to come along?""Ok, where are we going?""Our usual spot, we'll show you when we're there!" He smiled, getting up and opening a dark corridor. "Let's go!"Sora put his hood on and followed the duo.Reaching their usual spot, Roxas looked at the breath taking view in front of him, he hadn't seen this in quite a long time. "Still as pretty as ever." He turned his head towards the redhead. "Who goes to get the ice cream?"“Why don’t you show Sora where to buy it so we can make him our delivery boy?” Axel chuckled. The blond laughed, nodding as he grabbed the brunet's hand. "I'll buy it as a thanks for saving me back there, we'll be right back!" The blond walked back to the main streets, proceeding to the ice cream shop. "We always buy ice creams here, then eat it at the clock tower while watching the sunset." He bought three ice creams, paying for them as he gave Sora his own. "Here, try it."“Aren’t we supposed to try it together? Let’s go back in a Corridor before they melt.” Sora held up his hands to open a Corridor of Darkness. Nothing happened. He looked at his hand and waved it, as if trying to make something happen by force.“How do we do it again?”"Eheh true enough." Roxas stood there, silently looking at how helpless Sora looked while trying to summon a dark corridor. "It's as simple as summoning the keyblade. Just focus on the place you want to go to instead of thinking of the Keyblade. Get it?“Uh, okay.”Before Sora could try again, Axel appeared.“I came to see what was taking so long, so that’s what you were up to. Roxas, only the dwellers of Darkness can use its powers. We have to awaken the Darkness in Sora before he can do that.”"....." The blond tilted his head, looking down briefly. "And how do we do that..?""Let's figure it out later. Now, I want my Ice Cream."Sora looked at the blue Ice Cream he was holding and bit it. “Bleh… Salty….. But sweet!”"Mh!" Roxas bit his as well, laughing as he looked at Axel. "Hey Ax, doesn't that remind you of something?"“Hm? What should I be remembering?”"Didn't I say the same exact thing when you first gave this ice cream to me?"“Ahahaha, that’s right! Guess you two really look alike.”"Well, he's me after all." The blond looked at the brunet, smiling softly. "Right, Sora?"“Hmmmm” Sora thought to himself. “It feels strange to say that. I think Roxas is Roxas.”"As in… you think I'm my own person..?"“Of course! We may share some feelings and thoughts, but you are yourself, Roxas!”"I... I guess you're right, after all.." Roxas smiled, biting his own ice cream as he looked at the sunset. "This feels... really familiar... As if we've always been a trio or something..."Sora looked at the orange sunset. A sad feeling struck his heart as tears filled his eyes.“Uh, what is? Why am I?...”"Sora?!" The blond leant over, examining the brunet's face. "Is something wrong?""You tell me, these must be YOUR feelings. You gotta stop using me to cry, you crybaby" Sora chuckled while crying."Is.. that so..? But I don't remember feeling sad other than that time when I got told Axel disappeared...""You cried for me, Roxas? That's sweet".Feeling his cheeks turning red once more, Roxas lowered his head, feeling embarrassed. "Uhm.. well.."“Where did you got then, Axel?” Sora asked, not noticing Roxas’ awkwardness. The blond sighed, looking into the sunset briefly as he bit his ice cream. "He got sent to Castle Oblivion.."“Castle… Oblivion…?” Sora’s thoughts drifted away from the conversation. Roxas’ words echoed in his head as he felt like he knew that place.“…ora!”“Huh?” No. 12 came back to his senses being called by his nobody."You alright? You spaced out all of a sudden.."“Yeah, I’m ok. I think I might be tired…”"Wanna head back? We should rest now, we had a long day. I still haven't got any sleep ever since I woke you up back in Twilight Town."“Yeah, let’s get back… My head still hurts for some reason…”"We'll have plenty of time to tell you about things. Let's go home." The blond stood up, looking at his best friend. "I bet you Axel is so ready to catch up on his sleep~" He laughed.“And I don’t want anyone jumping up on me this time” Axel said while opening a Dark Corridor. The three went back to The World that never was. Each of them went to their rooms to prepare for the next day."Ahah alright, goodnight Axel, Sora."The blond waved at them two, going to his own room as he laid down in his bed, falling asleep almost instantly.Meanwhile, back in Twilight Town, Diz couldn’t believe in his eyes.
  11. This was my entry for the contest....... but I was banned from the interwebs for a day and therefore missed my last chance. -Fade in- Namine sat in the white room she had called home for many a day now. With nothing else to do, she began to draw. The abandoned mansion creaked with DiZ's steps as he always checked on her at the wake of half-an-hour intervals. It's not that she thought DiZ was a bad person, but he wasn't exactly good company, either. Namine ''felt'' something....something like ''loneliness'', much like that she had ''felt'' before. But even so, she was glad she had at least someone to talk to....even if he only saw her as a nobody, but to her that seemed fine, because that was all she saw herself as.. still, he seemed to care somewhat nonetheless. He had that kind of an air about him, he seemed to discard any semblance of caring, but deep down, it was obvious he felt sorry for Namine. That person was someone she had seen before in memories, Riku. Every week, after following DiZ's orders and checking on Roxas and other person, he almost always came back to ask Namine how she had progressed with Sora's memories. The conversations they had when Riku entered the white room usually consisted of nothing more than a few sentences, ''Are you making progress?'' then she would reply with something like ''Yes. But it has become more difficult for me'' and then they would stop talking altogether. But today was different. DiZ wasn't around to monitor what Namine was doing nor to give Riku tasks. This time, when Riku entered the room, he didn't sit down. Instead he suggested they go to the clock tower. ''Huh?'' Namine said, ''Why?'' ''I tell you once we get there'' was all he told her. ---- Following Riku, Namine walked through the quiet buildings of Twilight Town until they reached the towns landmark, the clock tower. Once there, they silently made their way to the top. Riku leaned against the wall and Namine sat over the edge, simply looking out to the sunset overhead. Namine was deep in thought for a moment, then spoke up. ''Why..Did you bring us here?'' Namine asked the cloaked boy. ''Those three you were talking about'' he spoke, ''I always see them up here, acting like best friends''. He started to walk over to the edge, were Namine was sitting, however he did not sit down. Namine looked up at him. He laughed slightly before speaking again, ''I guess you could say.... you remind me of an old friend, someone I haven't seen in a while'' Namine smiled, she knew who he meant, from the memories Namine had seen, Riku saw her other as a dear friend. She was happy Riku could see her as a friend in some form, even if it wasn't true friendship. ''I'm glad'' -Fade out-
  12. Author's note: Have you ever watched the Japanese intro of Birth by Sleep? Non-Final Mix? That version of the opening scene with Young Xehanort on the beach has nearly identical framing as a shot of Riku on the same beach with Terra later in the game. That parallelism led me to the notion that Riku might've turned out a lot like Xehanort were it not for one key difference: his friend, Sora. Enjoy~! Why did I have to be born with silver hair? They say it's a curse. That I'm cursed. For all I know maybe I am. All the people in this tiny world sure treat me like I am. Every face I see I've seen a hundred times. Different people, but it's always the same face: hate. They try to hide it sometimes, but… adults don't realize just how bad they are at lying. The usual empty stares follow the young boy as he walks alone to school. Shuffling along, his white hair nearly brushes up against the top of his backpack. "Just keep walking—ignore them. Don't bother them and they won't bother you." The best advice I ever got. You'd think I'd've gotten used to it by now. After all, one gets to see the same people every day. This town is just too small. A large building—only two stories tall but very wide—comes into view as the boy rounds the corner. The local school. Many children make their way inside, the occasional parent towering over them. Bet this won't end well. Stuff like this never does. The boy begrudgingly shuffles inside the school. Despite his relative tall-ness, he tries to make himself inconspicuous. "Hey, it's that cursed kid!" Gee, that sure didn't take long! Just ignore him. Don't make eye contact. "Huh, I guess he's deaf, too!" He glares in his bully's direction before he catches himself. Too late. "Got a problem, old man?" The bully roughly slams his victim into a locker. The boy's arm is shoved into a handle, leaving his hand no choice but to drop his backpack. Both it and its contents clatter to the floor. They say starting fights isn't worth the effort, else I'd deck him. "Well?" His buddies, all shorter than him, snicker as he continues to pin his quarry to the wall, pain shooting up the boy's arm arm. Don't make eye contact. It'll only antagonize him. He shakes head. "Didn't think so!" Satisfied, the bully lets him go. Slumping to the floor, arm a little unresponsive now, the silver-haired boy reach for his bag. "Oops, sorry!" The bully's voice calls out, his foot imbedding itself into the backpack, flinging it a good distance away from its owner. The bully and his lackeys laugh as they move on, leaving the boy essentially alone in the locker room. Finally. Picking up the bag, the boy look around for the stuff that used to be inside it: his lunch, a pencil case, and two books. I can't help but be a little impressed at how for that kid managed to knock away some of these, to be honest—I can't even see where the second book went…. A pair of shoes walk towards him. Glancing up, the first thing he notices is that this other kid's got his book. Looking a little bit too happy, this newcomer offers him the book. "This is yours, right?" "Uh… uh-huh." Don't make eye contact, the boy's mind tells him. He grabs the book from the cheerful kid's hands, shoves it into his bag, then quickly heads to his assigned classroom. Let's see… which one was it again? Footsteps behind him. Stopping, he turns to find the cheerful kid behind him. The kid's missing something important though. "Hey, don't you want your backpack?" "What?" he says with a little too much surprise. The kid spins his head around to find his own backpack resting on a stool where he mush have set it. "Oops, I guess I forgot about it. Thanks!" He smiles. A smile? Haven't seen one of those in…. The cheerful kid leaves, and the silver-haired boy finds himself waiting for him. What's up with this kid? Hurried footsteps come back around the corner. "So what classroom are you in?" the kid asks, seemingly genuine-like. "Why?" Rather than answering his question, the kid merely says, "Mine's 4A." It's the same as his. …Wait, am I making eye contact? The boy's instincts turn his head away, but he still responds. "Mine too." "Woah, cool! We should sit next to each other!" What, why? This kid's sure got a weird way of making friends. …Making… friends. With me? That'd certainly be a first. The silver-haired boy looks back at his classmate. Well, I guess he seems genuine enough. "Yeah, alright." "Awesome!" The kid's overgrown smile returns. Running up beside him, the pair head down the hall towards the room 4A. Apparently. "Oh wait, I almost forgot!" The cheerful kid moves ahead of him. "My mom says you're supposed to tell your name when you meet someone new." He reaches out his hand. "I'm Sora!" Near-speechless, he looks at the kid's outstretched hand. I gotta say, this kid sure is blunt, isn't he? His arm moves forward and their eyes meet. "Riku," he says. Sora grabs his hand and shakes it up and down with vigor. "Riku, huh? Race you to the classroom, Riku!" Then, suddenly (to Riku's surprise, although he should've expected it after what the kid had just said) Sora bolts off down the hall. What's up with guy? "Hey, we're not supposed to run in the halls!" Sora skids to a halt, then scratches his head, laughing. "Oops, I guess I'm just so excited. The first day of school and I already met someone cool!" 'Someone cool,' huh? __________________________________________________________________ "So, what do you wanna do?" Why is this kid still talking to me? He stayed pretty quiet during class, but now… "Nothing in particular. I just want to go home." "Why?" "It's not like there's anything else to do around here. This world is just too small." "'Too small'?!" He shakes his head. "I've got just the thing for you! It's really cool. Wait 'till you see it!" I don't think he has any bad intentions, but… he's starting to annoy me. Riku shrugs. "Maybe later, okay?" He picks up his pace. "Well, look who it is. If it ain't the grandpa!" Riku stops. So does Sora. The bully (whose name Riku has discovered is Zell) is standing right in their path, lackeys beside him. I guess I can't ignore him this time… not like it worked the first time anyway. "What do you want?" Riku asks as blandly as he can, trying not to pick a fight. "I thought I'd walk you home, old man," he says, giving an eerie smile. "After all, you seem to have a bit of trouble walking!" He punctuates this with with a sharp kick. Riku's leg falls out from underneath him and his face nearly hits the ground. I can't believe he went to so far as to attack me outright! He takes a deep breath and get up to find Sora's fist planted into Zell's head. Riku's jaw drops. Didn't think he had it in him, to be honest. "Why you gotta be so mean to Riku?!" Sora demands. Sora's fist didn't seem to pack much of a punch. He only made the bully stumble a little, more surprise on his face than pain. "What the heck, man?!" He readies a hand and firmly decks Sora, knocking him over. This time, Riku finds his own fist meeting Zell's face. Much to Riku's surprise, as much as Zell's. The bully spins, falling flat to the ground. He gasps, a hand reaching up to his face where Riku hit. "Alright, man, you win!" he whimpers, pretty pathetically. Confidence within him, Riku takes a step towards him. "Aah!" Zell scampers off, his buddies following pathetically behind him. After a few moments, Sora looks up at Riku. "Hey, you okay?" "Am I okay? You're the one who got punched." He helps his friend off the ground. "Honestly, yours was pretty pathetic though…." He looks up at Riku and smiles, face a little roughed up. How can he smile like that all the time? "To tell you the truth, I usually wouldn't dare to try. Zell scares me too much!" "Oh?" I could totally see this kid being too scared to act out like that. "What was different this time?" He shrugs. "I dunno…" The least informative thing I've ever heard him say. Sora's face lights up, as though he got an idea. "Now c'mon, lemme show you the island!" "What?" The way this kid's mood maintains its positivity, it's like the fight with Zell never happened. Does this kid have a one track mind or what? Wait a sec… "Did you say 'island'?" "Yeah!" Eagerly, he points towards the shore. "My dad's a fisherman, and sometimes he rows me out to that island over there. You should totally come, it's a cool place!" "Huh…" That's actually something I've always wanted to do. Riku had never thought something like that was an option for him—he could never get up the nerve to ask any of the fishermen. Not with the way they stare at him. Eyes full of hate… I wonder if this Sora kid's dad will be like that, too…? Riku turns to Sora, whose face is still beaming. "Maybe… tomorrow?" "Alright, it's a promise!" "Hold on…" "See you tomorrow, Riku!" Then, off he goes, in the direction of the beach. If his dad's a fisherman, then I guess it makes sense he'd live close to the shore. Riku's eyes drift towards the island in the distance.
  13. The Empty Cold Loneliness was hard to find in a city as big as this. But somehow, she had done it. Sitting at the corner of the bank and the malt shop, she had created her own world of seclusion that may as well have made her invisible. She squirmed on the cold concrete sidewalk, writhing in fruitless attempts to keep herself warm from the blistering morning chill that ran up her spine. Her exposed toes instinctively curled up in a vain attempt to find warmth, as she systematically rubbed her feet together in an effort to keep them moving. The brisk smell of firewood caught her nostrils, as she turned to look at a nearby store, well-kept and inviting with its soft brown hues and the thin plume of smoke rising from its chimney. Unable to bear the sight, she turned her head again, and pulled her rough linen hood in close. She tried to convince herself that she was still trying to keep warm, but in reality all she wanted was to hide from her shame. Of all the times she had sat at this corner, twisted, lonely and crying, not a single person had ever paid her any heed. She hadn’t spoken in weeks; she had almost forgotten the sound of her own voice. She had almost forgotten what it was like to hear another person speak to her. “Hey, kid.” Her heart stopped. Stunned, she turned her head upward, the sudden motion inciting an ache in her stiffened neck. Her eyes stung from the bitter cold, yet she could still make out the figure of a young boy standing in front of her. Shocked, she tried to speak, but nothing came out. All she could do was sit in silence and wait with bated breath, as she had always done. The boy smiled at her. “You’re alone, huh?” Paralyzed by the cold, her only response was to nod, slowly and shakily. His smile widened, as he continued with, “Yeah, me too.” He chuckled slightly, before offering his hand to her. “Come on, let’s be alone together.” The girl eyes widened. Cold tears slowly formed at the corners of her eyes, yet refused to fall as she offered another broken nod. Slowly and hesitantly, she reached out her hand, surrendering to whatever fate had brought this moment to her. ___________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ Lea stood patiently beneath the crooked street lamp, trying his hardest to appear casual in light of the numerous civilians strolling by him. His eyes moved callously from face to face, as he consciously began to go over his plan for the nearby pharmacy across the street. After he took a brief moment to think through his actions one last time, he rolled his eyes and breathed hot air into his barren hands, trying to keep warm in the brisk night. “This is stupid,” He thought to himself. “I’ve done this plenty of times already! Why is it that tonight, I’m so nervous?” After Lea had met Arlene, his entire life had changed. He never meant to stick with her for so long, but his conscience had gotten the better of him. She was completely alone; no one to call friend or family. And without him, there was no doubt in his mind that she wouldn’t survive the end of the season. This winter had been the most brutal in decades, and even people in the second ring were coming down with hypothermia. He couldn’t let that happen to her, especially not after all they had been through. So now here he was, breaking into a drug store just to get her through the bitter night. Lea looked around one more time. The streets had finally begun to thin, and pretty soon, there’d be no witnesses. After sitting down, he leaned up against the nearby street lamp as he methodically waited for the streets to grow empty. Feeling a brief chill run up his spine, he braced himself for a bitter gust of wind, as he once again rubbed his hands together in an effort to warm his body. The cold night air didn’t worry him, though. He had always had thick skin. Probably one of the reasons he was able to survive so long on the streets, he thought to himself. The minutes droned on and on, as he continued his wait beneath the lonely light hanging overhead. He closed his eyes, as the time slowly began to escape him. Thoughts of the past and present began to pass through his mind, images of his family, and of his friends. “I wonder if Arlene’s doing alright?” He thought to himself. He found himself worrying about her a lot nowadays, especially now that every other night, she just seemed to be getting worse and worse. He sighed to himself in exhaustion. “Maybe, I should-” Lea’s thoughts were interrupted by the sound of a nearby door swinging shut. His eyes darted open, as he quickly moved to conceal himself, even though he was confident that no one could see him in the darkness. As his eyes adjusted to the pitch-blackness, he was able to make out the figure of a tall man walking through the night. A small smile found its way onto Lea’s face. “Looks like the good doctor’s finally closed up shop.” He took a second look at his surroundings, and noticed that the streets were now completely vacant. “And everyone else has turned in.” Lea’s smile widened. “Good.” He waited a few moments to make sure the doctor was out of earshot, before finally making his way towards the pharmacy. He knelt down at the door’s lock, and quickly pulled out a set of hair pins. “Alright,’ he muttered below his breath, “let’s see if I’m as rusty as these locks.” Lea placed his ear onto the frigid bronze metal of the massive door handle, his skin prickling in response to the contact. He pensively listened for turns of the lock mechanism as he maneuvered the hair pins inside the keyhole, and in almost no time, another smile adorned his features as he heard the satisfying click of the door unlocking. “Ha! Too easy,” he tried his hardest to whisper. Slowly, Lea pushed open the door as he slid quietly into the shop. The room was pitch-black, even darker than the outside, so Lea wasn’t able to make out specific details about his surroundings. It didn’t matter, though, what he wanted couldn’t be found in the front room, anyways. Crouched low, Lea carefully made his way through the darkened shop, trying to keep himself as silent as possible. While there shouldn’t be any practical reason to be so cautious, Lea wasn’t willing to take any chances. The young boy had learned a lot in his life, and chieftain among those was to never believe in safety. Eventually, Lea found his way to a second door within the first room. Unsurprisingly, the door was not locked. Lea had been here several times before, and while the man who ran the place had enough sense to lock up his store, he also had enough sense to realize that locking the second door was pointless. If Lea made it through the first, he was making it through this one, too. Lea opened the door, and passed into a claustrophobic back hallway. Lined with numerous doors, some opened, some closed, the hallway stretched on for the length of the building and didn’t leave a lot of space for maneuverability. Ignoring most of the doorways, Lea quickly managed to pick out an open door that led to a small secluded room lined from top to bottom with wooden shelves, upon which sat countless glass vials of different shapes and sizes. Smiling to himself one last time, Lea slipped into the room, and began to reach for the bottles of medicine stored on the shelves. He narrowed his search to a single shelf, and methodically began to feel through the different shapes and sizes. He knew exactly what he was looking for, and knew that he wouldn’t find it anywhere else. As Lea moved through the numerous vials of medicine, his smile slowly began to fade. “Not that one… not that one… definitely not THAT one…” he muttered, as he slowly started to panic. “Come on, where is it?” He said, a little louder than he intended. “This… this can’t be happening.” He finally whispered, nearly defeated. “Did he move it? But he’s a clean freak! He’d never re-organize his entire stock in a single day! Does he know I’ve been stealing from him?” He thought to himself as he took a seat on the cold, brick floor. “No… maybe he’s out of stock. Maybe he got caught off guard and he’s out for the week? Yeah, that has to be it.” Lea scrambled to his feet and brushed himself off. “Either way, I have to get out of here, I’ll just have to check back next week on a different day,” Lea thought, but suddenly stopped, and grimaced. A new thought popped into his head, and with it came a whole new set of concerns. “What if Arlene doesn’t make it another week?” Suddenly, Lea’s thoughts were violently interrupted by an intense pain that lashed out on the back of his head. His neck cocked, and his legs buckled as he limply fell to the floor. Landing arms first, Lea’s vision blurred as he tried to make sense of what had just happened. He rubbed the back of his head in an attempt to find the source of the shocking pain, when he suddenly felt a cold ring wrap around his ankle. “What the…?” He muttered, as he finally managed to turn himself around to face the open doorway. While his vision was still clouded, Lea was able to make out the shape of a young man, someone about his age. He could see the boy’s mouth moving, but it took a few moments for his hearing to become less than an incessant drone, so all Lea was able to pick up was, “… I must admit though, I’m surprised that hit didn’t knock you unconscious. Your skull must be thicker than I thought.” Lea rubbed his eyes vigorously in an attempt to finally clear his vision. When he looked back up, he was face to face with a tall, cerulean-haired teenage boy in a blue turtleneck and a pair of white jeans. It took Lea a second to notice the wooden cudgel in the boy’s left hand, and it became pretty obvious pretty quickly that this was the person responsible for the pain at the back of his head. Reflexively, Lea tried to push himself away and to his feet, but something tugged at his leg and kept him bound to the floor. Looking down, Lea realized that the boy had managed to cuff him to a large metal pipe embedded in a nearby wall. After struggling with the metal chain for a few moments, Lea sighed in defeat, finally accepting that he probably wasn’t going to get out of this one. “I wouldn’t try running,” the boy said. “My father is probably already on his way back, he’ll decide what to do with you.” Lea frowned at the boy’s words, but less out of fear for himself, and more for frustration at the situation itself. “Look,” Lea began. “I don’t care what you do with me now, but I can’t stay here. I have a friend, you see; she’s sick! And she needs your dad’s medicine!” The boy’s eyes narrowed in response, as he replied with: “That doesn’t justify stealing from us.” Lea’s eyes slanted in turn. “Yes, it does! She might die if I don’t do something about it! What’s more important, following the rules or saving someone’s life!?” The boy went silent. He began to circle Lea, almost as if he was sizing him up. “Who are you, anyways?” he asked, “And why are you stealing from our shop? You’re a little too well-dressed for an orphan.” Lea began to calm down, and was content with answering his captor’s questions if it managed to get him anywhere. “I work odd-jobs in the second-ring. But I don’t make enough money to buy your father’s medicine, and I definitely don’t make enough to take my friend to a real doctor.” Lea scoffed, and turned his head in disgust. “Even if I did, no one in their right mind would take in rats like us.” The boy refused to say anything, but his gaze belied the conflict going on within his mind. The two waited there for only a few moments, but those moments felt like a painful eternity. Finally, the boy broke the silence and said, “My name is Isa.” Lea turned his head in response, a little surprised to say the least. “And, why should I care?” he asked, a doubtful expression on his face. Isa knelt down, and looked Lea in the eyes. “Because I want to be your friend.” Isa held out his hand to Lea, his cold and empty expression unflinching even after what he had just said. “Well?” he asked pensively, waiting for an answer. Lea’s eyes went as wide as dinner plates, and he was seriously beginning to question whether or not this person was really all there. “Uh…” he muttered, “If I say yes, will you let me go?” Isa chuckled, and smiled lightly, although it was hard to find any humor in his expression. “Very well, I’ll ask again when I don’t have you chained to a brick and mortar floor.” Standing up, Isa turned his head as he heard the front door open. “That should be my father,” he said, before turning back to face Lea. “I’ll see about getting help for your friend. And if you don’t mind, I’d like to meet her someday.” He waved one final time at Lea, before turning to leave. “Goodbye, for now.” Lea was speechless. His eyes still wide with shock and confusion, all he could do was sit on the cold, hard floor and wonder what had just happened to him. “Apparently, this is the only way I can make friends.” He muttered to himself in silence. ___________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ Lea propped himself up against the concrete wall of the alleyway he and Arlene had stopped to rest at. He looked to his right at the entrance to the secluded alley, staring at the open pathway expectantly. On his left hand side, Arlene sat on the ground, her legs pulled up close to her chest as she stared at the concrete floor with a penitent look etched onto her features. After a few moments, Lea decided to break the silence with some small talk. “So, nice weather, huh?” he turned his head to look at her, just in time to catch the slightest shrug of her shoulders. Giving her another momentary glance, Lea turned back to face the opening of the alleyway, before continuing with, “Isn’t it kind of funny how we would have killed for a setting like this just a few months ago?” He wiped the sweat off his brow, a reminder of the heatwave that had struck the city not too long ago. “Now we’re ducking for cover in a place like this. Guess that makes us pretty ungrateful, huh?” he chuckled, and Arlene offered a slight smile, but didn’t respond otherwise. He turned to her again, before kneeling down to meet her face to face. He looked at her quizzically for a few moments, as she turned at him and did the same. “You really don’t talk much, do you?” he asked her. Slowly, she shook her head in response, after which, Lea sighed and stood back up. He strode over to the other wall of the alley, leaned up against it and turned to face his friend. He locked eyes with her for a few moments, before she turned away, trying to avert his gaze. After another long stint of silence, Lea finally spoke up with, “Can you do me a favor?” Arlene didn’t look back, but still nodded. Lea knelt down once more to meet her eyes, and simply said, “Say something to me.” She looked at him, a hint of shock etched into her expression. They stared at each-other for what seemed like hours, as Arlene tried her hardest to understand whether Lea was kidding or not. And although she could usually tell by looking into his eyes, right now, she simply couldn’t tell the difference anymore. A sudden and rude “ahem” broke their gaze, as Lea turned to his left, while Arlene merely looked away in embarrassment. Standing in the entranceway to the alley, Isa stood with three paper cones folded underneath his arm. “Sorry if I was interrupting anything.” He smiled lightly, before walking over to Lea. Lea, in turn, scoffed at his antics. “Here’s an idea! If you’re so sorry, then just don’t interrupt next time.” Lea said half-jokingly. Isa turned his head up in mock thought, as he slowly replied with, “Hmm, no thanks. Messing with you is a bit too much fun.” With a sigh, Lea turned to sit down next to Arlene, who was trying her best to ignore the moronic banter flying between her two friends. “You’re late,” Lea said. “Where were you? The shop was just around the corner, you should have been back ten minutes ago.” Isa sat on the other side of Arlene, before slowly gathering the cones in his lap. “Well, I may have taken the scenic route back.” Lea scoffed at his friend once more, before responding, “Yeah, that figures.” Looking to his side, he noticed Isa holding out one of the paper cones and having already given one to Arlene, a genuine smile on his face. “Just be glad I brought any back for you at all.” Rolling his eyes, Lea took the cone in a show of faux reluctance. “I just don’t get your obsession with that castle. What’s the point in staring at it every day?” He muttered, as he began to unwrap the gift. Arlene jumped with joy as her cone unraveled, almost threatening to spill out the contents over the dirtied pavement. Pecans. Her favorite. She turned to look at Isa, a look of boundless gratitude on her face. He merely smiled at her and nodded. Isa turned to look at the adjacent wall of the alleyway, his expression looking as if he was lost in deep thought. “Now, as for the castle…” be began. “You know what they say about Ansem the Wise, don’t you? A man, a philosopher, a scientist, an alchemist, even a doctor. He’s all of those things and more.” Isa said. “I can’t say for sure, but I just have this feeling. A man like that might be able to help Arlene.” Both of Isa’s friends froze. Arlene looked away in shame, as Lea sighed at his companion’s words. “You always know how to kill the mood, Isa. Did you really have to bring that up at a time like this?” Isa was right, of course. Arlene had been born with brittle bones and fragile skin. A single stumble usually meant a week in bed, if she was even lucky enough to find one. In addition to that, the winter had taken a heavy toll on her both physically and emotionally. She had contracted some kind of sickness; one that Isa’s father had no idea how to cure. While it wasn’t proving immediately fatal, he had no idea what the long term effects could be, nor how much time she had in her current condition, or if she could even survive another winter. Isa sighed in response. “I know, I’m sorry. It’s just a thought, okay?” Lea shook his head. Isa was always like this, he had grown up with a belief that everyone around him was as detached as he was. While he now knew that wasn’t true, he still had the habit of saying things with no regard to how other people felt. The next few minutes passed in silence, something that the three were not exactly unaccustomed too. Finally, Isa decided to break the quiet with a sudden and strange question, “Lea, what are you going to do when you get out of here?” Lea looked over at him, a little puzzled, to say the least. “Well…” He said, looking away in thought. “I… never really thought about it.” He looked down at his now half-empty cone of almonds, and noticed that Arlene was now looking at him expectantly. Hesitantly, Lea continued with “I definitely know that I can’t leave you two alone, you’d be hopeless without me.” He tried to joke, but failed to get a laugh out of either of his friends. Rubbing his head in embarrassment, he pressed on with, “So, I’d probably just stay here for a while. Really, the only thing I’ve ever strived for was to survive every day, so I haven’t really given much thought about my future.” He said earnestly. Isa, in response, raised a questioning eyebrow. “Is that so? Well, I have to say I’m a little disappointed.” Lea scoffed in retaliation, a usual response when he didn’t have a decent comeback. “Well… I wasn’t trying to impress you with my life-story, anyways.” Isa looked down at the un-opened cone he still held in his lap. “Well, I’ve always known what I’ve wanted to do with my life.” Both Lea and Arlene looked over at him expectantly, their eyes laden with curiosity. “And what would that be?” Lea asked for them both. Isa sighed at the question, almost as if some kind of weight had been lifted from his chest. “I hate being useless; I hate it with a passion. But I hate pretending to be useful even more.” He looked over at his friends. “I’m going to make a difference in this world. I don’t care what, and I don’t care how. I’ll give up everything, sacrifice anything if I have to. But something needs to change, and I’m going to change it.” The only response his friends could offer was a look of confusion and surprise, as they turned away to mewl over what he had said. Isa looked down at his watch, and frowned. “I have to go, my dad will be expecting me back.” He deftly stood, leaving the still puzzled Arlene and Lea to their thoughts. In a swift motion, he offered his cone of Pecans to Arlene. “You need these more than I do.” She looked up at him, a little surprised, but still offered a smile of gratitude. She nodded in response, and happily accepted the cone. “Alright, I guess I’ll be seeing you two.” He said, offering one last wave to them both before turning to leave. Lea, still sitting pensively, suddenly stood and turned towards Isa. “Wait,” he said, prompting the blue-haired boy to turn and face him, his eyebrow arched in a questioning glance. Lea was silent for a moment, as if he was trying to gather his words. “Isa… why did you ask me to be your friend? I just… I just never understood you.” If Isa was surprised by the question, he certainly didn’t show it. He turned his gaze away from Lea, and closed his eyes in thought. “Well, I suppose you could say I did it on a whim, or maybe that I did it for no particular reason at all.” He replied. “Maybe I felt sorry for you, or maybe you struck me as someone who would make a good friend. To be perfectly honest, I don’t really know myself.” Isa chuckled to himself. “Isn’t it strange? At times, we may do things that completely defy reason or explanation, simply because we desire something in a way we can’t explain. We think we understand ourselves, but when the moment comes that our heart speaks for us, we can be entirely different people.” Isa glanced back at Lea and Arlene, both of whom were still staring at him intently. “At the very least, I can say I don’t regret my decision.” He smiled. “And that’s from the heart.” “I’ll see you tomorrow, guys.” He waved at them both one last time, before finally walking off and disappearing from behind the bend of the alley’s corner. Lea and Arlene looked at each-other, before turning away in exasperation. “You think we’ll ever really get that guy?” Lea huffed. Arlene shook her head in response, but Lea didn’t need to see the gesture to know her answer. Lea collapsed to a sitting position beside Arlene once again, as the two finished the nuts that Isa had brought them in silence. Once Lea was done with his, he looked up at the shadow’ the sun cast over him and his friend. One of the little traits he had picked up in all his time improvising on the streets was his ability to “sort-of” guess the time based on the position of shadows during the day. By his estimate, it was roughly a few hours after noon. He turned back to Arlene, who had finished her first cone, and was now staring pensively at the one that Isa had given her, almost as if she was unsure whether or not to open it. “Hey, Arlene,” Lea began, as she turned to look at him. “I’m gonna be heading back into the second ring. I’ll… I’ll probably be gone for a little longer this time.” Her expression fell at his words, even though she tried to hide her sadness. “But don’t worry,” he said. “Isa will take care of you, we can trust him.” While Lea was reluctant to leave Arlene’s safety in anyone else’s hands, Isa was the only other person that he could realistically trust her with. Arlene nodded at him, and smiled to try and assure Lea that she would be okay. He smiled back at her, and slowly began to rise to his feet. “Isa was right about one thing,” he said. “There’s someone out there who can help you. And no matter what happens, no matter what I have to do, I’m going to find that person.” Lea knelt down, and looked her in the eyes. “I mean, if you can’t trust him, than at least you can trust me, right?” Arlene stared at him blankly, before her weary eyes brightened and her limp expression grew into a wide smile. He returned her grin, and offered his hand to her. Timidly, she reached out, as her mouth began to move and words she thought she’d never use again finally began to breathe. “L-L… L-Lea…” She muttered shakily, almost as if her very words were frozen to the core. “T-Th-th…” “Th… Thank… You.” And her tears refused to fall.
  14. In my opinion, it all depends on what type of stories you're interested in. For me, i really like stories where the main characters are a band of misfits I also like stories who use fantasy/sci-fi settings as backdrops for stories set in real life And finally, i love stories that balance cheesy comedy with a little dose character drama. What stories do you like to write, comment below!
  15. RATED 17+ for blood and mild language. This is the first time I've posted anything in a real long time, so here's a short piece I wrote just for Halloween. BASED OFF: The eerie music drifted over everything, as they walked through the isles, past empty booths and rides running alone, the "Horror And Madness" themed carnival pretty much like a normal carnival except for..well, nothing. Even the scratchy record playing over the loud speakers was generic music you could buy off ITunes for a buck and a half. "This blows." Jack whined, dragging his feet through the sawdust path, leaving deep ruts in it just to be annoying. He'd been to a lot of carnivals, and none of them matched this lousy one in any way: there wasn't even the usual scent of frying food and grease to on the air, just a rusty, metallic scent. Greg said nothing, still walking past shuttered booth after shuttered both. "They are open tonight, aren't they?" He asked nervously, catching a glimpse of movement out of the corner of his eye, the canvas side of a tent rippling in the night breeze. "How the firetruck should I know?" Jack snapped, kicking a can across the path. It rattled noisily as it clattered away. "Maybe they're closed for the ni.." Greg started to say, but a loud blast from the speakers cut him quickly off. The music changed to a much more upbeat tune, punctuate by horns, as lights started flashing into life all along the midway, rides clattering on, laughing clowns and fat women animatronics bursting on in a rush of sound. The sudden rush of light and sound made the whole place feel like an awakened beast. Laughter and screams echoed from the fun house, as the sound of clattering wheels came from within, so there was obviously others in the park. A booming voice came over the loud speaker, deep and jolly: "Come on, come all, to the main tent this All Hallow's Eve! See madness, murder, and death like you've only dreamed! The cirque is waiting, friends! Let the show begin!" Jack stared at the speaker, as Greg hurried on, pretty sure that announcement wasn't normal for a carnival, even one supposedly only Halloween based: Madness and murder? That wasn't the regular big top show material. The doors to the fun house creaked open at this point, and one of the cars whizzed by on its route through the dark ride: the cart's single occupant didn't seem to mind the ride was going fast, as the gaping wound across their neck had rendered them still and stiff, eyes staring blankly at the track ahead as the ride reclaimed the car, and the doors hissed shut. Jack shivered, but hurried on: It was...a prop, yeah! A prop to scare people on the ride..yeah...a prop.. A really good prop. The eyes had really looked wet, as if it had been crying. Greg was already in the big tent, the lights circling it like some idol from past times, the music blaring on, punctuated by dark laughter and what sounded like children. It was getting to Jack, who didn't even LIKE horror all that much: this whole mess had been Greg's idea. The big tent suddenly went dark, a single red spotlight on inside. Shivering slightly at the unnatural calm that came over the fairgrounds, Jack pulled the flap open, looking inside fearfully. He couldn't see much, only benches rising into a circle around the center ring, and a lot of twisting shadows, smoke lingering in the air, as well as more of the metallic scent. He stepped into the tent quietly, the red light glaring through the misty air. The spotlight was simple, set up near the entrance on a pedestal, the glass dome over the light slick with red. He touched it with his finger: blood...fresh as well. He backed away, holding his hand over his mouth as he gagged, the music swelling to an orchestral hit as the deep, booming laughter came on again. "Ladies and gentlemen, I present to you...Our main performance! Greg, the living doll!" Lights snapped on, and Jack let out a suppressed gasp as he saw what remained of Greg stuffed rudely into a clown suit, hanging from wires suspended from the ceiling, his too wide grin unnaturally cut into his face, and painted over with clown makeup. He stumbled back, tripping over a cord and causing the spotlight to fizzle out in a dying gasp of light, the body crudely manipulated in a grotesque waltz around the ring, a broken music box tune blaring. The laughter again, as Jack stumbled to his feet and took off running, the voice seeming to chase him, as well as children screaming and clown horns, the whole place a crazed rush of light, sounds, and madness. He fell, scraping his cheek, and curled up, sobbing into his knees to make it stop, please... Footsteps made him look up: the ringmaster stood over him, eyes shaded by a lavish top hat, clothes stained with red. "W..why?" He stuttered, tears streaking his cheeks. The man laughed, and bent close, his breath rancid, corpse like, smelling of blood and rot. "Because it's what we do." The screams echoed over the fairgrounds, quickly silenced. The merry ground's Calliope drilled to a dead stop, and the lights blinked out, one by one. The fun house slowed, and stopped, the glazed eye passengers jolted in their seats, none really caring at the moment: a woman's slack mouth dripped. The air was still over the whole place, as the sounds of a meat grinder were heard. Another day of work done, the ringmaster sat down to his meal. The next day, the carnival left. 14 people were reported missing by state police. There's little hope they'll be recovered. But good news: a carnival is coming again this summer. A nice way to forget the disappearances. It comes every year, but next year will be special. Very special indeed.
  16. So, I really am doing this The Gang's Night Out I It was dusk, and Kairi was still training at Yen Sid's Tower. Kairi was learning how to master the spell Magnera, by trying to gather multiple flying books, in the outer gardens. "Kairi, come to my office immediately." said one voice to Kairi's head. She recognized it immediately as Yen Sid's voice. "I wonder what happened..." she thought, as she hurried back to Yen Sid's. Kairi knocked at the door, and entered the office, Yen Sid was sitting on his usual chair, but something was different. "Master? Why are you dressed like that?" asked Kairi with some disgust. Yen Sid still had his regular robe and hat, although it had a different design. It was all black, with green weed leaves instead of stars. "Ah Kairi, good to see you came here quickly. I know that you and everyone else have been working hard, so I decided that all of us should have a night out. Who says we can't have some fun?" replied Yen Sid happily. Kairi has never seen Yen Sid like this. "Well, I guess we can... But shouldn't we be training for the battle against Xehanort? asked Kairi, with some indignation. She thought this could be a bad idea. "Come now Kairi, Sora and Riku will be with us too. I'm sure that's more than enough for you to join!" replied Yen Sid with a quick laughter. "Hmm... Ok, fine. But we have to train the day after! You'll have to teach me a good spell Master!" said Kairi, with some doubt. Yen Sid asked Kairi to meet him at the entrance of the tower, in half an hour. He didn't say where the night out would be, which made Kairi wonder where could they possibly go. Half an hour later, Kairi was at the entrance, with her best dress. A pink dress, with white zippers on her arms, and a yellow bow on her back. "Where's Master...? He told me to be here right...." said Kairi, until a bright light interruped her, appearing right in front of her. "This way young lady!" said a familiar voice. It was Yen Sid's. Kairi, still with some doubts, followed the light, and right after that, she was in a place she didn't recognize. II There were construction sites everywhere. Moogles flying around, and people walking and talking. "Where am I?" Kairi thought, until she heard someone calling for her in the distance. "There you are Kairi! C'mon, Leon and the gang are waiting for us!" Kairi immediately recognized this voice as Sora's, and when she turned around, she saw Sora, with a big grin on his face. He was with his usual clothes though. "Sora! Where are we? And why are you with your usual clothes?" asked Kairi dearly. "This is Radiant Garden! This is where Leon and the gang live now! C'mon, everyone's waiting for us!" said Sora, while waving his hand to hurry up. Kairi followed Sora, and after a while, she was in front of a weird house, with umbrellas on the top. "This is some house, huh?" thought Kairi, as Sora opened the door. Music was blasting from the inside of the house, as many people where inside. "KAIRI, you're finnaly here!" shouted many people form the inside, as Kairi went in and closed the door. Leon and the gang were there. Yuffie, Aerith, Cid, and Merlin were sitting on a large table. Riku, Donald, Goofy, Mickey, Lea and Yen Sid where standing near the table, with most of them having a wine glass on their hands. "Kairi, you're late as usual. Now that you're here, let's eat, everybody's hungry." said Riku with a slow voice. "Is Riku drunk or something?" thought Kairi. Cid did his usual dish: stuffing everything from the fridge inside a wok. Merlin brought wine form his personal celler, and everyone was having a good time (Although Kairi and Yuffie were the only ones who weren't drinking alcohol.). Sora was rather happy during dinner, as his cheeks were getting more red as time went by. "Sora, are ya sure you can handle the drink?" said Goofy, hicking right after that. "I'm fiiineeee! Reeaallyyyy!" said Sora very loudly. "Look, if we saaaved the wooorld twi-ice, I'm suree I can haaaandle iit!". Kairi thought Riku was awfully quiet, since he didn't say a word since everyone sat down. "Sora, I think you should cut down on the wine, you're really drunk." said Leon, drinking a whole glass of wine right after that. "If you let it go up your head, you might do some stupid stuff. "Doesn't Sora do stupid stuff all the time?" said Lea. "I mean, if he were to take on a group of Heartless right now, they'd die out of laughter due to Sora's behavior! Not that they can die out of laughter but I dig---" said Lea, until he was interrupted by Sora, as he got out of his seat, and opened the door. "What's that idiot doing?" thought Kairi. "Theeen let's put that to the teeest!" shouted Sora, obviously drunk. "HEAR ME OUT HEARTLESS! I WANT TO SEE IF YOU DIE OUT OF LAUGHTER! I'LL MAKE SURE YOU LAUGH SO HARD YOU---" shouted Sora, until Lea got behind his back, and pulled him back to his seat, while everyone was laughing. "No more drinks for you Sora! You obviously can't handle booze." calmly said Lea, while Sora was struggling to get off Lea's hold. "Well then" said Cid, followed with a hick up: "Now that we're all chipper, it's time for dessert! Cid's Super Awesome Special Cheesecake Extraordinaire!". Cid put a giant cheesecake on top of the table, but it had quite a "greenish" colour. "Umm... I'm sure that I won't eat that..." thought Kairi, as she saw Sora, Riku, Mickey, Donald, and Goofy having a slice. "Now Cid... What did you put on that cheesecake? We all know that your extraordinary desserts always have bad repercussions..." asked Merlin to Cid. "Oh, nothing special! Just the regular cheesecake recipe, with some old wine from your cellar! said Cid happily. Leon quickly got up, as he saw the ones who ate the cake getting all green. "Cid... From which cellar did you get that wine...?" asked Leon with some fear on his face. "From that one near Merlin's bookshelf of course!" replied Cid, with another hick up again. "You... Fool! That's Merlin's experiments! What have you done?" said Leon angrily, as this time the afflicted people's eyes started getting red. Right after that Sora, Riku, Mickey, Donald and Goofy got up from their seat, and started doing random things: Riku was staring at Lea with a wicked smile, Donald started running around, Goofy started slamming his head against the wall, Mickey kept on rambling about random stuff, and Sora opened the fron door, and ran off again. "Guuuys! I thiink that waas a Heartlesssss!" said Mickey very quickly. Riku, Donald and Goofy ran outside, with Mickey following them. "I think that was my Alcohol Booster... It's meant for speeding up my experiments only, I never considered the situation of trying it on people!" said Merlin, deeply concerned. Leon got up, and told Kairi and Lea to go after them, should anything really bad happen. III "Kairi, from here go left. That leads to the Marketplace. I'll go right for the Castle Walls. Be on the lookout for any Heartless, and if you find Sora and the others, try to calm them down and bring them to Merlin. I'm sure he can cook the antidote and fast." said Lea to Kairi. Kairi was deeply concerned about them, since they were all really drunk. Kairi headed to the left, and after some time running, she found a vast avenue, full of closed shops. There was only one shop open, called The Happy Moogle. "Sounds like a bar to me, I wonder if they went inside..." wondered Kairi to herself. It didn't take long for Kairi to find out that the place was a ruckus. Lots of people were inside, having a good time. Although there was one person that was causing more ruckus than needed. "Donald! What are you doing?!" said Kairi, as she saw Donald sing Ducktales with Uncle Scrooge. Donald still had red eyes, but the greenish colour was gone. "Kairi, lad! Join us on this marvelous adventure! We shall cross the seas, and..." said Scrooge, until Kairi got ahold of Donald, and started dragging him out of the bar, while Donald was obviously struggling against her. "Let me go, let me go! I still have to finish the song!" said Donald on his drunken ways, as they were already crossing the Marketplace. Kairi got to Merlin's place, with Donald still struggling to go back to The Happy Moogle. She opened the door, and noticed that Mickey was already there, with Minnie at his side. "Your Majesty? What are you doing here? asked Kairi politely to Queen Minnie. "Well you see... Nobody knows that Mickey can't handle his drink, and I thought that being with his friends was enough to hold him back... But it seems that it wasn't enough! I'll have to bring him back, and take care of him myself!" said Minnie angrily. "Pardon me your Majesty" said Leon calmly."We didn't know that Mickey couldn't drink alcohol that much, but we appreciate that you took us in consideration. All the more reasons for us to be sorry..." "I'm the one who should be sorry Leon... I should have warned you before hand. How could I forget that we can all rely on our friends?" said Minnie with obvious guilt. "Now now your Majesty, don't put all the guilt onto yourself! I'm working hard on this antidote, so hold off Mickey until I can get this right!" said Merlin from the other side of the room, as he was pouring potions into the cauldron. "They'll be fine if you stand next to them, I'm sure they'll recognize their friends!" Mickey and Donald were still obviously drunk, and were struggling due to Yuffie's invisible ropes. "We'll hold them off Kairi, just go out there, and find the rest of them!" said Yuffie to Kairi. Kairi blushed a bit, and ran off to find the rest of them. She was thinking that although the situation was dire, she was having fun. IV "So I went to the Marketplace, and I only found Donald... Did Lea find Sora, Riku and Goofy?" thought Kairi. She decided to head right, towards the Castle Gates. After a short while, she found herself in front of the Castle Gates. There was a small fire consuming the lower part of the gates. "Something happened? I have a bad feeling about this..." said Kairi to herself, as she casted Blizzara onto the fire, putting it out completely. Kairi entered the castle, but she found herself inside a chaotic maze, full of debris, and water leaking out of the broken pipes. She heard shouts somewhere inside the maze, but she couldn't figure out who was shouting. She found a door with a crown symbol carved into it, and she heard more shouts. "Sto...the comp... don...d..tha..." they were almost imcompreensible. Kairi decided to go inside, and now she could clearly hear Lea's voice. "Stop doing that! We have to go back, you can't fool around here!" shouted Lea, as Kairi was hearing loud laughters, and continuous bangs. Kairi ran through the corridor, and she found all of them. Goofy was banging his head against the wall again, Riku just kept on smiling and looking at Lea, Sora was jumping on top of the computer while screaming "I HAVE THE POWER", and Lea was trying to persuade all of them to comeback. Kairi thought that something had to be done. They were too drunk for their own good. She summoned her Keyblade, and casted the spell she was training earlier. "Magnera!" said Kairi, as she saw everyone except her flying towards the spell, and getting trapped. Suddenly, she heard someone slamming the door behind her. It was Leon. "Great, you found them. Merlin knacked it, I got 3 samples here, they have to drink it!" said Leon. Kairi waved her Keyblade, and the spell vanished. Sora, Riku and Goofy fell on their backs, while Lea fell right on his butt. "Ouch! You could have warned me you were going to cast a spell!" said Lea angrily, as Sora kept on laughing. Kairi casted a Stop spell on them, as Leon poured the antidotes into their mouths while the spell was active. The effect of the spell vanished, and the three of them suddenly looked at Leon, and quickly fell asleep. "Why do they all look at me when they drink that...?" said Leon to Lea and Kairi. Each of them carried their fallen friends, and transported them back to Merlin's place. Final It was morning. The birds were singing, and the Moogles were already opening their shops. Sora, Donald, Goofy, Riku and Mickey looked terrible. They were resting at a big bed that Merlin summoned, with tea cups, and a cozy fireplace near them. "Why did you guys think that would be a good idea? Getting yourself drunk like that?" said Merlin to them, while they clearly had a face of who didn't want to get scolded. "And youuu.... Never get near my personal cellers again!" threatened Merlin to Cid. Cid got really afraid right after that. "I'll never drink again like that, I promise..." said Sora weakly, as the others nodded with their heads. Kairi still had something on her mind, and she was smilling. "Well, at least we all had fun with this right? We're used to problems, and honestly, I think that's our way of having fun!" said Kairi happily to everyone. "To be honest..." said Sora: "Despite being drunk, I was having lots of fun! As long as you're with your friends, we can always have some fun out of almost anything right?". Everyone nodded as a signal of acceptance. "Riku? Why were you always smiling at Lea during the entire night?" soflty asked Kairi to Riku. He chuckled for a bit, and said: "I just noticed one thing yesterday. Lea lost his two black stripes on his face. I just thought it was really funny.". Everyone looked at Lea, with some surprise. "It's not my fault if rimel is too expensive these days!" said Lea very quickly. As everyone was laughing, Kairi was thinking about the day before. She concluded that even if they are getting in problems, they can always have some fun out of it. It was more than determination for her to face on Xehanort, and twart his fiendish plans! So there ya go, what do you think?
  17. The setting the white room in the mansion at Twilight town, the walls were covered with drawings, and sitting at one end of the long table was Naminé. She was just sitting there of the chair simply staring at her drawing pad with some coloured pencils resting beside it, her expression was filled with sadness as she just stared at the drawing that she had finished earlier. It showed three figures holding hands, each of them wearing black, one with red spiky hair, and another with blonde hair and the last one with black hair. But the figure with black hair seemed to be faded as if it was being rubbed out by a rubber, the young girl’s hands were resting on her lap as she was staring at her drawing in silence, suddenly the door opened as she looked up to see... “Riku? It’s you...” she said as Riku stood at the door wearing the black coat of the organization and his black blindfold as his expression appeared to be solemn as then walked towards Naminé “You felt it too didn’t you... She’s gone, Xion” Riku asked Naminé as he stood a few feet away from her as she looked at him and then returned her view to her drawing as she then picked up her drawing pad “Yes... Roxas defeated her, all that she was has returned into him, and the memories of Kairi that were used to create her have begun to return into Sora” she sadly summarised to Riku “Even though she’s gone... Her bonds with Roxas and Axel, and her connection to Sora allow us to still remember her, but that’s still only temporary” Naminé stated as soon they would forget Xion too “What she did... Xion did for her friend, so that Roxas could be better off... And that Sora could regain his memories, she chose to be end her existence for the ones who mattered to her” Riku told Naminé “We shouldn’t be sad that she’s gone... All our memories of Xion haven’t been erased, they’ve simple gone with her back into Sora” the teen said to Naminé who pondered what Riku said and then the faintest of smiles appeared on her face as she then looked at her drawing “She’s simply returned to Sora, as will Roxas... He’ll soon reunite with Sora, just like I’ll soon return to Kairi” Naminé stated as her smile brighten, as the drawing of Xion in the middle of Roxas and Axel had become more transparent but Naminé still smiled as she knew Xion wasn’t truly gone A few days later... Three days after Roxas’s battle with Riku back in Twilight town Axel was sitting up on top of the clock tower lonely looking on at the sunset. His expression was plain as he stared out at the scene, tightly holding a sea-salt ice cream in his hands, Xemnas had ordered Axel to find and eliminate Roxas. He was able to locate him in a digital version of Twilight town that DiZ had created, he was unsuccessful in his attempt to capture Roxas the first time. He given an dreadful ultimatum, it was either destroy Roxas his best friend, or be destroyed, there was no alternative, he didn’t know what to do. He knew that Organization would destroy him he failed again, but how could he destroy his best friend, he had been sitting here for hours contemplating on what he should do. But just then he looked beside to the spot where Roxas used to sit with him, but then his vision went to further end. “It was me, Roxas... An... And?” Axel paused as he couldn’t figure out what he had just remembered, up here on the clock tower is the place he Roxas and someone else would meet for ice cream “What am I thinking? It was just me and Roxas who were always up here... Ha, I’m one who’s always memorized everything...” the nobody told himself as he then took a bite from his ice cream “Roxas... What should I do?” Axel asked as he just looked up at the orange sky as he just sat wondering what he should do, follow his orders and hurt his best friend, of betray the organization A week or so later... Roxas was now standing before Sora who was floating in the now open memory pod, his nobody had a smile on his face but this was still a bitter sweet moment for him. His life had come to end as he now accepted his fate to return to Sora. Just before Naminé was taken by DiZ she told him that nobodies like them were half a person, they wouldn’t fade away into the darkness, but instead they would to their original selves. Roxas then started walk towards the still sleeping Sora as began to glow a faint blue aura which began to envelop and surround Roxas’s body. The closer he got to Sora, the brighter the aura around him glowed, suddenly with being inches away from the keyblade wielder Roxas’s entire body had become a blue aura which was moving towards Sora and suddenly surrounded him as the memory pod closed back up. “Sora...” Roxas’s final words as the aura surrounding Sora had been absorbed into his body reuniting Roxas with Sora as the boy eyes twitched slightly as he continued to sleep Days later... Sora, Donald, and Goofy were running through the streets in the neon city of the world that never was, thanks to Axel’s sacrifice they were able to defeat the horde of nobodies they encountered and made it to the in between world in which the organization was based. Sora was saddened by Axel’s death and was more curious about the identity of this ‘Roxas’ that he saw in the picture and who the organization members kept referring him to as turned into a another street. They were heading straight to the castle at the end of this world as it was the organization’s base. Sora and the pair were standing at the Memory’s Skyscraper, the same place in which Roxas and Riku’s battle took place weeks ago. As the keyblade warrior paused he looked around the area as then noticed the artificial Kingdom Hearts hanging in the sky above the Castle That Never Was. The pale yellow heart shaped moon was the result of the thousands of hearts that had been collected by Roxas, Sora, and Xion through the keyblade’s rage, but Sora couldn’t shake the slight feeling of déjà-vu. The setting had once again changed, it was back to Twilight town, the town appeared to be deserted, as the town was bathed by the orange sunrays, and at the top the clock tower sat Roxas, Xion, and Axel each enjoying a sea-salt ice cream with smiled on their faces as they appeared to conversing with each other. This couldn’t be possible as each of them thought in their minds as they laughed and had fun, Xion wondered how her friends could even remember her... Axel couldn’t understand why he was here as he wondered why he wasn’t simply in the darkness, and Roxas pondered why he was sitting here as he his body had merged with Sora. The three friends all wondered how this was possible but they still didn’t question it, they just continued to eat their ice cream and enjoy the time they had with each other. Although it seemed to be a strange occurrence, maybe one of them was dreaming, maybe this was an after-life for nobodies, there so many answers, but in truth the answer was simple... Sora...
  18. "Hey Axel?" Roxas looked to his friend, the aloof number VIII of their Organization. Axel was busy staring off into the sunlight, the crimson sun that never seemed to move from its place on the horizon. Such was the reason this place was called Twilight Town; as it semed to be in a perpetual state of twilight. Perhaps that was why Roxas liked being here. Like twilight, he was neither light nor darkness--but some being of the inbetween. Axel was, too. "Mmh?" The red-head grunted, glancing at Roxas with a side-ways glance. A popsicle stick hung out of his mouth, giving him look that was even goofier than his usual face. "I was talking to Saix earlier..." Roxas began, but was immediately cut off by Axel. "That's your problem. Don't ever talk to Saix. He'll fill your head with nonsense and make you want to bury your head into a pillow for the next day." "Well...no....I was asking him about his past." Roxas told Axel, shaking his head, "And he told me you and him used to be friends." "Oh. Yeah. We were. Scourge of Radiant Garden, I always liked to call us. We always got into trouble.." Roxas sighed. Axel was barely listening to him to begin with, and now the man was going off about his past. "A-axel....what I wanted to to know was....what exactly makes you a friend to someone? What's...what's friendship?" Axel paused, eyes going wide, as the popsicle stick fell from his open mouth. "E-eh..? O-oh, right...you don't exactly have any memories, do you? So you wouldn't remember what having friends was like..." Axel sighed, leaning back as far as he could on their little perch upon the clock tower. This was their usual hangout. Just him, Roxas, and occasionally Xion, although it seemed the soft-spoken girl was a bit late from one of her missions. "Weeell...." Axel began, trying to find the words for this, "Friends are...how do I put it? It's like a bond. Between you and someone else. Since you're a nobody, you can't exactly feel that bond...and without your memories, you can't remember what the bond felt like, either." Roxas frowned, staring down at the ground below his feet, "Does that mean....I can't make friends...?" "Oh, no!" Axel exclaimed, sitting back up. His face showed an alarmed expression, which actually managed to make Roxas smile, "You can...lemme explain -and you better get this memorized- see, a friend is someone you like. Someone you hang out with a lot. Someone you like being with, and you make time to be with them." "Like Xion!" Roxas added to that, smiling. Axel nodded once, glad he was getting to the boy, "Yeah! Like her." "And you!" Axel grinned, shaking his head. Roxas could occasionally be naive, but it also meant he was strangely adorable. Like an innocent kitten. "I'm glad you're understanding." "Yeah." Roxas replied, nodding just once. He turned to Axel and smiled, "I'm glad...that I got to be friends with you." "Same here." Axel smirked and searched around the popsicle stick. He growled, coming to the realization that it must have fallen off the tower, "God da--I think I lost that stick. And it was a winner too!" "Oh..." Roxas murmured, taking out his stick, as he had just finished off the ice cream. Sadly, his lacked the crown and the word "Winner", which signified he had won a free ice cream bar. "From that look of yours, I would wager you didn't win." Axel said, looking at Roxas. The boy silently nodded, to which Axel stuck his hand out and patted the blonde's head. "It's alright. We can always buy more ice cream..." "Y-yeah." A few minutes passed, and an awkward silence fell upon the two of them. Roxas held the stick in his hands, studying it, as he went over the idea of friendship. "Axel?" "Hm?" "Would you say....having two friends...would that be a lot?" "Mmh..." Axel hummed, giving the question a thought, "I would say, based on our group, it is. Because almost no one else in the Organization really have any friends. I guess you could say Zexion and Lexeaus are, but us three are the only true friends." "Mmh, okay." Roxas blinked, and turned his head as the sound of boots walking grew louder, and the thin, young Xion appeared. She smiled sweetly, giving the two a wave. "S-sorry I took a while...I...the mission didn't--" "Xion!" Roxas exclaimed, suddenly jumping up and immediately went to grab her hands, "Xion! I have to ask you something!" "Uh-uh...?" "Will you...will you be my friend?" Xion chuckled, the noise suddenly bursting from her lips as she smiled, "O-of course...but...I thought we already were!" "W-well...I just wanted to make sure!" Axel shook his head and let out a small laugh, "Jeez, you two, kiss already or sit down. And sorry, Xion, but I ate your ice cream. It was melting." "Eh! How mean!" Xion exclaimed, but immediately started to laugh. It was followed by both Axel and Roxas, as the sound of true laughter drifted around the tower. Xion sat down, and smiled at her two friends. Axel sighed, leaning back once again as he stared up at the red sky. "You both are a buncha dorks..." "Am not!" Xion exclaimed, "But Roxas totally is!" "H-hey!" Roxas yelped, gently punching Xion's arm. She laughed, doing the same to him. Axel let out a chuckle and shook his head once again. "I hope....I hope we get to be friends forever..." Roxas murmured, looking at the two others. He didn't see the flicker of sadness on Xion's face, but smiled when she looked at him with a smile of her own. "Me too." "Eh...I dunno...I don't know if I can stand an eternity with you dorks." Axel replied, flinching when Xion started to playfully hit him. "Axel! Stop being so mean! Roxas is trying to be nice, but you're being a butt!" "Okay, okay! Yeesh, I've got it memorized. Gods, it's like neither of you can take a joke..." Axel grumbled, rubbing the back of his head. Roxas smiled at them, and turned to watch the sun. He truly didn't know if he would their friendship would be eternal, but he hoped it was. Even if they broke apart, he decided that the bond -the same one he couldn't feel- would still be there, connecting all three of them. Even without a heart, he could tell, deep down, that they would always be together. No matter what.

  20. On a fine day where the Sun rises, the scenery brightens all over the hometown for a pleasant morning. One of those houses, lived by a boy with a friendship heart, who is still in a good sleep. The boy with a spiky hair, sleeps on his bed at the bedroom, knowing that the boy was in good dreams as it shows where the smiles on his face remarks a pleasant mood. Until then, a cheerly voice was been heard in the boy's bedroom,as the voice was coming from downstairs. "Sora! Breakfast ready, come on down!" The boy finally wakes up as he heard that voice, knowing where that voice belongs to. The boy immediately jump out of his bed after waking up and went to the door that leads outside to his room. As he went down,he take his breakfast as he eat his toasted bread with a jam that has been served on the plate at the table with a cheerful face. "Thanks Mom! This bread is so delicious!" Sora replied with a delicious taste to his tongue that he takes while his mother smiles with joy while washing the dishes at the kitchen. As he finished his breakfast and carry his plate to the kitchen to hand over to his mother for washing it,Sora was trying to make a favor to her. "Mom,if it's alright, can i go out and play?" "Sure, but you gotta take a shower first. Be careful out there, okay?" "Okay, I will! Thanks Mom!" Sora immediately went to his room to take a shower after hugging his mother as a sign of his gratitude to her, where it leaves a pleasant smile on her face. As Sora have already change his attire,he went out from his house and ran fast as he can,as if he was like a wind that blistering all over the place. As he stopped running for a moment,he arrived on someone's house, which seems that he wants to find someone from that residence. "Riku! Are you there? Riku!" As Sora shout on a balcony of the house where Riku's room nearby, the window opens where a young boy with a Silver hair approach to the balcony in order to see Sora. "Sora, you're up early. What is it?" "Today's the day! It's the day we get to go to that Island! Let's go!" "Easy there. Let's meet at the Jetty." "Okay, see you there!" As Sora running with an overexcited feelings after giving a reply to Riku, the Silver hair kid sighed with a grin on his face, remark that he knew about his friend's expression. "He's so energetic. Well, I should get going." Riku immediately leave the balcony and his house as he went to the Jetty where Sora waited impatiently. As both of them meet, they began to take a raft in order to get to the island. As they arrived on the Island's jetty, they began to walk on the island shore as they stopped at the smaller island where the Paopu fruit tree grew by taking a road to the smaller wooden house that leads to upstairs. Then, they began to sit on the tree, and look at the Sun that reflects to the ocean so beautifully. "Sora,do you want to know how this island build?" "Sure,I would like to know more. Tell me about it!" "Well, where do I begin, since i heard this from my Dad. They say,not only that both of our Dads build and hang out together in this place, there was a Young Kid who was here before our Dads showed up. That kid appear before the island was built long ago,and I also heard that he was he strongest guy in our town that helped many people back then." "Cool, then he must be a hero!" "Maybe, but all that happen have been changed when he leave the island." "Really? Why that happen?" "From what I heard,my Dad said that he wants to become strong by taking a journey faraway from here. To be honest, I dunno why he wants to become strong for. I mean,he's already strong in our town and yet,he decides to become more stronger right now..." "Gee,I wonder why..." " I think, that maybe there is a reason that he wants to become strong. Maybe he wants to know more about the place outside from this place,a place where it something much bigger than here..." "You know Riku, you sure are talking weird sometimes." "*chuckle* Guess I really am..." Both of them are having a lot of good times as they talking and laughing together. As they continue talking,Riku suddenly come up with a question that he wants to discuss with Sora. "Hey Sora, can I ask a question?" "Sure! What is it?" "If you have a chance to get outside from this place, what would you do?" "Hmm....I think I would like to meet new people besides the people from our town. I mean,it's like what you said, there could be a place where it was something much bigger. And for that, I may get to meet many people someday. " I see,so that's your opinion..." "What about you,Riku? What would you like to do on the outside place?" "For me, I think I want to become strong, too. Just like that Young Kid..." "Really? And why's that?" "It's a secret~" "Aw,come on! You can just tell me! If it's a secret,I can keep it,promise!" "You sure about this?" "Absolutely!" "...Well,here goes. I want to become strong because I want to protect my friends, like you. You're my precious friend,Sora..." "Riku...." "Is my opinion sounds bad?" "Nope,I kinda like it. I agree with you,Riku. And I think I want to become strong too!" "Really? And what's the reason?" "Protecting my best friend like you! That's what friends are for!" " *chuckle* Thanks,Sora. I appreciate that..." They both are having a touching moment of their friendship in the end. As the sun sets so suddenly, the began to standing up after sitting at the tree for so long. Then,Riku suddenly try to take a Paopu fruit from the tree by using his wooden toy sword to shake the tree down. Since it takes a lot of time for a single person to do it,Sora help Riku to get the fruit down. The fruit finally fall down from the tree, and both of them are sharing that fruit for eating together. "Hey Sora,do you know about the Legend of Paopu Fruit?" "No, I haven't. All I know from Selphie is that it was a love story." "Well, some of those are correct. If two or more people share the fruit, their destinies become intertwined. They'll remain in each other's lives,no matter what." "Wow Riku, you sure know more something about this." "Well, I learned it from my friend, nothing in particular..." "Then again, this fruit is delicious!" They both spending their time by eating Paopu fruit together until the last sweet have been chewed. As they began to head down to the shores,Sora began to have an idea based on his simple looks that can be read. "Hey Riku, how bout we have a race to the end of the shores?" "Sure, but I'm gonna tell you that I'm a lot faster than you!" "Oh yeah,we'll see!" "Ready..." "Set." "Go!" Both of them began to run like a wind with a full of joy. As they arrived at the end of the shores, they began to head back to their home by taking a raft again. Then,Sora suddenly look back and take a last view on the island that he always play along with Riku. "You know,I really love our island. It's a place for us to play!" "True. Next time,we should bring Tidus and the others too." "Yeah, you're right!" As they almost arrived at the hometown island,Sora began to hear a strange voice. (Remember Sora. Believe in your friends, and it will guide to the light...) "Do you say something,Riku?" "No, I haven't said anything..." "Huh....weird.I think I really hear someone's voice. Probably my imagination..." As they have arrived at the shores, the two of them began to head home as the night have been take places and the millions of stars began to show up in the sky, remark of an ending of the day,yet a new beginning for tomorrow...
  21. -1- Departing Refrain Roaring wind and swirling blacks and purples blanketed everything. His eyes were squeezed shut as the world stretched and tore; pulled backward through the Space Between, there was nothing that could be done as the island was ripped into infinitesimal pieces beneath his feet. His brown hair was matted down hard around his face, damp and freezing against his forehead. His arms were pressed to his sides as he traveled, though he wouldn't have had the strength to fight whatever was pulling him along if he wanted to. He ground his teeth, pulled faster and faster through the darkness, feeling as though his legs might be left behind if it didn't slow down. Bright white light suddenly burst through the tiny gap in his eyelids. The blue eyes snapped open as the urgent pulling sensation gave way to gravity; his arms and legs came free, his neck swung up to see what he was flying toward as he was blasted from the portal. A sizzle filled the air as long black claws raked out after his body, snaking through the air toward him, as if it were going to snatch him like a fish on a hook and send him whizzing back the other way. Arms came up to shield his body unnecessarily; the short-lived portal snapped shut only moments after his exit, the shadowy claws bursting into wisps of smoke before his eyes. His relief was cut off by the wall he slammed against. Sneaky buggers, walls. His body clung to its yellowed surface for a moment, leaving the former Keyblade Master to slowly peel off and fall to the dirt with an unceremonious thump. Pain reverberated through all his limbs, spreading from the back of his head through his limbs, pulsing in his marred fingertips. His bare hands were scraped and already covered in dirt and sand. They were shaking as he tried to bring his arms under him to bear his weight. His head rose slowly, the soaked brown spikes clinging to his face as he tried to gather himself. His voice was a hoarse whisper, barely able to reach his own ears, "No... No, no!" He coughed, his whole body shuddering once as his arm slipped, bringing him back down to the earth. Lying on his stomach for minutes that felt like lifetimes, he closed his blue eyes once more as he silently wished himself away from his dirty resting spot. As he teetered on the edge of consciousness, his mind forcing him to relive the confrontation once more. He had been sitting on the floor of his house, back against one of the couches in the living room, that silly ear to ear grin spread over his face. His hands were wrapped around a spiky auburn haired young boy, both of them laughing as they wrestled on the floor. A typical summer night, it seemed; roughhousing on the floor, shooed inside by an oncoming storm. As dusk wove into evening, and his son was ushered on to bed by his wife. The retired Keybearer took a moment to relax on the carpet, letting his head sink down into the cushions of the couch, staring up at the ceiling fan as it spun hypnotically. The smile still on his lips, he pushed himself to his feet. "Dad?" The shaky voice of a younger girl echoed down the stairs to him. As she asked him to come up, he was already taking two steps at a time, for no particular reason other than he could! He hopped around the corner, poking his head into the room. Another auburn haired kid was kneeling on the bed in her pajamas, pointing out the window to something. Sora chuckled, pushing some of his own light brown locks out of his eyes as he walked over to the window to see what was so startling. He ruffled the long red-brown tresses that made her look so much like her mother as he spoke, "It's just a squall; you remember how they turn the sky funny colors." He took a look for himself, despite his own assurances. Blinking a few times, he pushed off the edge of her bed, standing frozen at the window for a long moment. Before he'd fully registered what he was doing, he'd raced to his room, thrown on actual clothes and barreled out the door; he wore just a pair of jeans and a plain white t-shirt. His old adventuring outfit didn't exactly fit him anymore. The Keybearer was in a hurry in any case. He never would have been any the wiser if he hadn't looked out the window. Just woulda gone to bed, and woken the next morning none the wiser. He skidded to a halt in the grass in front of the mayor's home, fists clenched tight as he glared up at the figure perched at its apex. It was as black as the sky all around it, like a shadow in a dark room, and the only thing lighting it up was its hands held up to the sky: thin white bolts of lightning were arcing up every few seconds, becoming more and more frequent until the moment Sora arrived. The man on the rooftop lowered his arms to his sides, the hood peering vacantly downward; its contents were a mysterious void in the dark. As they stared each other down, the skin on the back of Sora's arms was crawling, spreading slowly up to his neck and seeping down his spine. How had he managed to miss such overpowering Darkness? His bright blue eyes fluttered open again, bringing him back to the bit of dirt he was recovering on. His head was still aching, pain pulsing throughout the rest of his limbs, but he managed to control his arms enough to bring his body upright. He leaned back on his wall, which still bore his imprint, blinking slowly at the world he'd arrived in. "The Land of Departure...? Aqua!" he murmured to himself, pushing off the wall and stumbling up the hilly path that led to the main building. His bare feet slid along the grass and the rough edges of the dirt road, the cool, itching sensation drawing him back into his nightmare again. He was back on the grassy field in front of the mayor's house, golden flashes all round his hands as both Fenrir and Sleeping Lion appeared. The hood jerked backward, as if the person underneath had let out a derisive chuckle. Leaning forward, the cloaked figure was off the rooftop in an instant. Gloved fingertips, arcing white sparks, were centimeters from his face before Sora even realized he needed to move. Leaning back, he swung Sleeping Lion hard, connecting awkwardly against the Man in Black's hood as he fell to the ground. The hooded figure vanished into a puff of shadow, leaving the Keybearer to stare at it for a moment from the ground, wondering what had just happened before white light lit up everything above him. His head snapped forward; the man was suspended horizontally in the air, spinning around to focus on Sora. The gloved hands pressed together, wild arcs of blue static shooting off to the empty air around him as he brought the hands to bear. As Sora tried to roll away, he felt something brush against the backs of his legs. There was a sudden release of pressure in the air for a split second, and everything went silent. Just for a second. Sora was sent skidding backwards over the grass, his heels catching on something as his momentum carried him along, sending him spinning and tumbling back until he finally rolled to a stop on the edge of the beach. Water rushed through his fried pant legs, two still-smoking handprints on the back of his calves where the connection was made. The remnants of the attack were still making him twitch and spasm when he heard slow, deliberate footsteps moving steadily closer. His ears were still ringing as Sora pushed himself over onto his back. The walking shadow nearly standing on top of him, his silhouette ruffling in the gusting wind. He could see the lips moving in the darkness of the hood, the slow, monotone voice of his enemy impossibly clear in the storm, "To think, that that is all the force to be mustered by the strongest of the Wielders." A divot in the dirt caught his foot. He was brought back from the troubling memory to stumble. Sore fingers caught on the doorframe that led to the lower corridors. His soaked jeans weren't helping at all as the slightest breeze sent chills up his spine, making Sora feel even more lifeless than he thought possible. He called for anyone, receiving no reply as he tried to make his way along the corridors and up staircases. It seemed the Wielders in training had already fled, and Master Aqua had gone with them. As he mounted the final spiral staircase, he was leaning heavily on the banister, and nearly toppled back down when he finally came to the landing. Doors up and down the dormitory were left wide open, the contents of some strewn out into the hallway; one door looked like it had been blasted or torn off its hinges. The heavy oak doors at the end of the corridor were barely cracked open, but scorch marks marred every inch around them. His voice was caught in his throat, reaching out to push on one of the handles, which looked as though someone had tried to melt it away, the barrier creaking slowly as he entered. "Empty... What could have happened here?" His mumbled words gave away his despair as he sunk down inside the Master's bedroom, his back pressed to the door, and his palms pressing to his eyes as he waded through the catastrophic fight again. The points of his Keyblades were digging hard into the sand as Sora used them to prop his body upright, two more scorched hand prints on his back. He was panting hard now, his whole body weighed down with water. Shaggy brown locks sticking across his face and forehead as he stood at the edge of the island, his bright blue eyes just barely able to make out the curved tree where he and his friends had spent so many carefree days and nights wondering up the unforgettable experiences they might have on other worlds. Half-lidded and trying to wipe sweat and a sticky crimson substance from his eyes, he heard another boom of thunder from across the main island, bringing up his Keyblades as he waited for the shadow to strike once more in hopes of catching it off guard and landing a lucky blow. A hefty gust of wind rushed past, a precursor to the danger that was causing it. Sora gritted his teeth hard as he waited for sudden pain. "What good are you?" The voice was hard and hushed, the sand around the shadowy figure's feet swirling around him as he came to a sudden halt, making the Keybearer stumble backwards as he tried to figure out where his opponent was coming from so quickly. "Well... No use wasting time. Hardly worth the effort. Doubt you're going to save anyone." The hood turned, looking down along the dunes, catching sight of the woman with her long auburn ponytail flowing in the breeze. "Least of all, your family." Another boom broke the clouds above them, and everything began to swirl. Pieces of houses were already being pulled in, ripped out of the ground as winds immediately started to gust over the islands. Sora took off down the beach toward his home, all thought of the battle gone, only wanting to reach her before everything was ripped apart again. The ground shuddered; a column of earth shifted up in front of him, leaving his section of beach to sink below the raging waves, foaming as they rushed in toward him. He leapt up, managing to drag his worn out frame onto the shard of land above him. Almost there... Just a bit more... His feet sank into the sand as he ran, hopping over fractures that were appearing all along the island, yelling for her to grab the kids and go, to run, to get away. Wind rushed around him as another boom echoed across the shattered landscape. A palm wrapped around the back of his head, pushing him forward into the sand. It wrenched his head back by the long, brown spikes, holding him down to watch what was going to happen. The monotone voice hissed in his ear, the flapping hood muffling the words, "Ah, my favorite part. The sappy goodbyes..." Twisting and trying to fight away from the grip on top of his head, he felt a knee crash down between his shoulder blades, and the hand bunching up in his spiky brown hair yanked hard. Pops issued all along Sora's spine as he felt the pain spread like wildfire down his back. The earth shifted again, the house suddenly dropped down several feet, before the whole piece of land started to lift away. The swirling clouds, glowing bright yellow in the middle and turning purple along the outside edges, were a sickening whirl of color overhead as they drifted toward the unsettlingly black eye. The movement was enough to unbalance the shadow. Sora's arm whirled around over his head, actually feeling the connection this time: Fenrir managed to catch right along his attacker's chest, knocking him flat on his ass. The Keyblade Wielder scrambled to his feet, ready to try and jump the gap, but then he saw the look on his wife's face. She'd made it outside again, his son and daughter holding onto her tightly, both of them calling for him to hurry. It was the sad little smile, the one she hadn't worn in years, and that slight shake of her head that kept him standing right on the edge of the abyss. "Remember what I said?! I still mean it!" His eyes open once more, still sitting alone in what had been Aqua's bedroom, his back resting on the door and his legs sprawling out across the tile floor. His body no longer shook as he rose once more, testing his grip as he turned to a wardrobe next to the entryway. He pried it open, finding nothing but a gold plaque inside, with a simple sentence etched into it: Step Right Up. He pulled at the remnants of his tattered clothes, the hand prints on his back and chest making it flimsy to the point of almost disintegration, and did as he was told; his last words to her were ringing in his ears as he shut the door, feeling warmth surround his body. Being electrified and shot through a portal can make it easy to forget who you are sometimes. The doors sprung open again, giving him enough light to see what had been done. He flexed his glove-covered palms, looking over the scuff marks on his fingertips, the only visible reminder of the events that had transpired. Sora said the words one more time, a quiet murmur in the broken halls, "I'm always a part of you, too. And I'll come find you; always will..." The leather squeaked as he clenched his fist, a weary smile slipping back onto his face as he straightened out his jacket. Throwing the doors wide open, he strode back down the mangled corridors. "Kairi. Riku. Just hang tight. I'm coming to find you." The gilded hem of the long, taupe coat trailed along at his heels as room after room went by again, the flames embroidered along the back flicking and shining near enough to make them look alive. His freshly gloved palms ran over the burn marks that were scattered throughout the dormitory hallway. Under the scuffed and sore tips of the Keyblade Master's fingers, the stone felt so brittle he thought he might have been able to break a piece off. It looked as though a dozen or more explosions had rocked just that part of the castle, leaving everything blasted and broken in its wake. The damage wound erratically up the steps to the Great Hall, and left a pile of rubble and kindling at the base of the stairway. The fingers curled into a fist, slamming it down on the center of a scorch mark. The stone around it groaned under the unnecessary force. Shafts of light filtered through a hail of dust and debris that shook loose form the wall, coating Sora down to the shoulders. It blew off swiftly as he stumbled blindly toward the stairwell that led to the Master's Hall. Resting his palms on his knees, panting hard and letting his head sink down, he felt the remnants of the palm prints tingling on his chest, parting gifts from his opponent. The one who had destroyed his home and taken him away from his family. It was him. His blue eyes stung as he looked at the door blocking his way, looking over the blocking bar snapped cleanly in two as if someone had gone through it with an axe and the burn marks left all around the outside masonry. There was no one else he knew who could do anything as terrible as this. His tired legs caught on the edge of a step, sprawling him flat onto his chest. He should have known when he saw the Man in Black from the start of the fight until the last moments, which were still replaying in his imagination. Riku had been right... Wind ripped through his hair again; fingers dug hard into the collar of his shirt, yanking him back. Sparks arced across every one of the man's free fingers, the deep black cloak whipping around his waist as he stood before the distraught Keyblade Master. Without hesitation, the hand came down, and lightning cracked the sky once more, illuminating everything in terrifying relief for the briefest of moments. The Man in Black straightened up, leaving the spiky brown haired man to lie battered and broken in the damp earth, finally beaten on the sandy shores of his home. The earth creaked and groaned beneath them, waves lapping up to them suddenly as they sank a foot, but then their sundered bit of land started to lift away from the rest. They were moving up toward the bright yellow clouds, swirling furiously with reds and purples as bits of the Destiny Islands were finally swallowed up into the pitch black at the very center. Tipping his head back to the rain, the Man in Black spoke softly again, rousing the broken Keybearer from his shocked stupor. "Honestly. How you ever managed to save anyone is a bit of a mystery." The hood twisted down to look at its target, the rush of movement still pulling at the hem of his cloak as they made their way skyward. Sora's whole body felt stiff as he lay on the ground, pain pulsing across every shocked and frayed nerve ending. He was barely able to shift his body as the Man in Black peered from the shadows of his hood. "Look at your home. Broken. Destroyed. And never going to return. And those poor people. Think of it: you couldn't save a single one. Not even your own family." A gust of wind nearly took the hood away from his face, a tuft of brown hair the only piece of his head that became visible before gloved fingertips caught the edge and pulled it down tight once more, scoffing as the Keybearer twitched at his feet. "'Keyblade Master Sora'." The gloved hand reached down and pulled Sora up to his feet, letting them look at one another for a moment. The spiky haired man struggled at his challenger's wrist, trying weakly to free himself, but froze as the Man in Black hissing his last words, "You should have listened to Riku." He was suddenly in the air, the shadowy figure standing on the hunk of earth far below him with his hands pressed together, sparks building all over his fingertips, arcing like some kind of Frankensteinian machine. A tiny glowing orb suddenly pushed his palms apart and sparks shot out into the air all around his hands. Even as Sora was hurtling away from the man, he could feel the tingle of static in the air as if a massive bolt of lightning were about to strike. There was a whisper of air unlike the rushing wind all around him; Sora looked up just in time to see a dark portal split open above him and to hear the Man in Black below him bellow his displeasure as his target flew across the threshold. He felt like he could still hear the angered scream ringing in his ears as his mind came back to the Land of Departure. His fingernails dug into the spaces between the stone blocks on the wall, the knuckles turning white as the Keyblade Master pulled himself upright again. His breath hadn't completely come back to him. His left hand pressed to the burns hidden underneath the steely gray vest that enveloped his torso and the zipper along the front chilling the skin between the aching palm prints on his skin. He pushed off the wall, his knee nearly giving way after the first step though Sora managed to steady himself, and stepped around the corner into the Master's Hall. The stained light from the glass above the intricately carved wooden thrones of the three Masters illuminated the room, freezing Sora as he stood among the rainbow of scattered sun shafts. His feet began to move again; the shuffling steps echoed in the silent space. The left chair, where he'd sat during his tenure, had been kicked over, tossed aside carelessly. The sun shone through the hollowed spaces around his selected emblem, charred entirely black on one side. He reached the foot of the dais, his legs unwilling to push him up the few steps onto the platform. The blue irises slipped to his right, the second Master's seat, Riku's seat... It had joined much of the wooden accents in the lower parts of the keep as a sizable lump of matchsticks and kindling that had been hurled into the nearest wall with pieces scattered around the base of the platform. The Keyblade Master forced his body each step up to the very center of the platform. Cracks formed a spider web all around him, the remnant of a blow so strong it spread out a few feet from the epicenter. The high-backed throne that had been set in the middle, the Grand Master's seat, was pushed back from the battle, sitting in the shadows underneath the stained glass. He stepped off the far edge, his aching limbs catching him and letting him stumble. His bare fingers found the arms of the chair, digging into the wood as he held himself upright. Sora did his best to breathe deeply, his whole body shaking as he exhaled. With a sudden effort, he started to pull the chair out of the shadows. Grunting, Sora managed to drag the thick wood into the light, illuminating the damage Aqua's attackers had inflicted. The back had been cleaved in two all the way to the seat, the two halves creaking eerily as he dragged it back toward the platform. He stopped to breathe again, panting as he ran his fingers along the back and the sides, feeling scorch marks all over. He lifted, groaning and wheezing until the feet scraped back onto the cracked masonry, sliding back into its proper place. The Keyblade Master looked up at the shorn back as he caught his breath and brushed his palms off on the flowing legs of his pants. Looking back to the corner of the Great Hall, to the third armchair that nothing could be done for, he stepped around to the side where the remaining seat was. He reached out carefully, brushing his fingers along the scorch marks for a moment. They felt different than the ones in the dormitory, and as he looked closer in the colored light, the pattern was entirely different. It flowed around everything, blazing hotter in some spots than others. The lightning spots were mazes of burn marks, and as he looked around the chamber for further evidence, he felt his heart sink. There were both the swirling fire spots and the arcing lightning strikes. "He's not alone." Sora mumbled, his hands working without instruction to pick up the throne and set it next to the other. His spikes bounced as he stood back, his irises moving back and forth to both empty chairs. His coat lifted as he turned in place, a gentle breeze rolling through the stone hall and whistling in the corners. "And I've managed to lose everyone." The words startled even the Keybearer, blinking as he felt the loneliness creeping forward again. His fingers searched around his neck, closing tight around the silver emblem and golden band that he'd worn for years. His legs started to shake once more, falling back into the empty throne. The wood gave a screech of protest as it was pushed back under his weight, coming to a stop in a crack before it toppled over and tipped him out backwards. The Keyblade Master set his elbows on his knees and leaned forward. His fingers let the charms go to rest against his chest, warmed in his palms so he couldn't feel them on his skin anymore and brought his palms up to rest over his eyes. The breeze whispered through again, teasing the legs of his jeans and the hem of his coat, but eventually even that died down. There he sat. The last of the Keyblade Wielders, alone in the Light, and waiting for the Darkness to fall.

Boys met up with their gangs, while girls were going towards the shopping centre. Alex wasn’t one of them. And yet, it seemed like none sees him. He was kinda used to that life. You’re in the backstage, all alone, none cares… For him that was ok, because he liked to be alone. Well, he wasn’t completely invisible. For girls, of course. For them he was “the cutest thing in the school”. And that was true. Unlike his classmates, he had red spiky hair and bright green eyes. Girls were totally crazy about that. But Alex was still lonely. Even thought girls were crazy about him, he never had an actual friend. All other boys called him a “nerd” or something even weirder. They didn’t like him because, he was different. Alex loved drawing. Every day after the school, he went in park and drew in his sketchbook. That was his relaxation after the school. Right now he was sitting under the tree while he was drawing a girl. He didn’t know why, but the thing he most liked to draw were girls. Drawing was almost finished, when he was thinking about girl’s hairstyle. “Let’s see…” Pencil was drawing by itself. Soon after, girl had two long ponytails. While looking on her, he thought what kind of personality she would have. “Cool… creative… never squealing… loyal… an adventurist!” All those thinking about that girl made his head heavy, so he decided to go home. “Too bad that kind of girl doesn’t exist…” He walked towards the small apartment, near the park. This was his home since he was 3. That was the age when he lost his parents in a car accident. Fortunately his uncle raised him into a smart and creative kid. But unfortunately, he was always busy. Like now, apartment was empty. Alex sighed and looked on the message that was lying on the table. Hey there Kiddo! Today I had a bit more work to do, so I’ll be late. I left you some money if you’ll be hungry. His stomach talked faster than his head. Alex was very hungry duo to his small lunch that he had in school. He took the bike from the garage and rode it towards the shop. It was pretty far away and yet, it started raining. “Great! Now I’ll have to eat in the shop!” And that was true. 20 minutes later, he was standing next to the shopkeeper, eating a sandwich and french fries. “So, how’s school?” shopkeeper asked. “Like always… nothing new…” Alex said. Alex came to eat in this shop often, so shopkeeper pretty memorized him. Shopkeeper’s name was Flynn and he had shaved blond hair, with a ring in his ear. He was also the one of Alex’s only friends. “It’s getting late. I have to go home.” “Hey, it’s raining outside. Why don’t you wait here until it stops?” “Don’t worry, I’ll be fine.” “Be careful…” Alex nearly regretted that he didn’t listen to Flynn. The rain got from bad to worse and road was full of water. His mind was full of memories again. “Can I play around the puddles, mom?” “Of course you can, dear. Just be careful!” “Don’t worry mommy I will.” A tear drop slipped down to his cheek when he was thinking about it. The last walk with his mom just before she died in that car accident along with his dad… His thinking was broken by loud lighting in the sky. Alex now realized that he’s getting wetter by every second. “Man, I need a shower when I come home.” When he was about to turn in his street, a giant van rushed right into him! Alex didn’t feel the pain when van crush into him. He only felt the feeling of flying that ended with a pain on the ground. Driver seemed to realize what he had just done. He quickly came out of his car. “Hey, can you hear me? Are you alright?” There was no reply. Alex was just laying on the ground, bleeding. “ Oh, my goodness.” driver said as he looked on Alex’s wounds. Driver quickly called an ambulance on his cell phone. “Please come quick… I hit a kid with my car… yes, on the 4th street… he’s bleeding! Hurry!” While man was phoning, Alex saw someone in the corner. His sight was foggy, so he couldn’t fully see it. But he did saw a girl, who looked exactly like from his sketchbook. That was the last thing he saw before passing out. When the ambulance arrived was already too late. Even thought doctors connected him with many life – saving machines, his heart didn’t beat. His skin turned pale as his eyes stared into the corner where that girl was… Alex’s life was taken away.

H.E.R.O. Highly Elite Recruit Officer Chapter One This story begins at a small little neighborhood park. There was nobody there but one teenage boy sitting up on top of the tall slide, everyone else went home because it was getting late. The sun was setting and the sky was turning that pinkish orange color it gets sometimes. The boy on the slide sledded down and then hopped of half way. He landed on the ground with the dirt below to rise just for a second then fell on to his shoes. He wore blue, white and black skater shoes with blue jeans resting on top of them. There was a tear on the right pants leg and a chain hanging off two belt loops on his left. He had a red jacket that had a blue square patch on his left elbow. His jacket was over a white muscle shirt and an old rusty locket with a picture of his dad. He had medium length light brown hair and green eyes. He looked young but you could tell he has been through a lot, the stern look of a harsh past hardened his face. The boy turned to face the park’s swing set. He could see the bush on the other side begin to rustle a bit then the whole place went nearly silent, all that could be heard was the wind blowing, the chains on the swings creaking and some people down the street; about a couple blocks away. The young man knew something was in that bush and it wasn’t human. So to quench his curiosity, the boy slowly walked over to the bush to check it out. He got about a few feet away when a rather large black creature leaped out of the bush and into the air. The creature was about three to four feet tall and very slim. It was pure black and had dark red eyes. Ripples of dark energy was shedding off of it, the boy could feel darkness as if it was a small weight on his whole body, making him feel just a little bit heavier. The creature was in the air and then kicked off towards the boy for an attack. The boy jumped back to evade the slash but the fiend was too quick for him. The beast reached out and scratched the boy’s chest. He fell on his back but quickly flipped back up and side stepped the dark figure’s second strike. The creature thrust straight forwards as the boy side stepped the blow, catching his arm and twirling the thing over. The monster hit the ground but never stopped twirling until he flipped back up and hit the boy once more. He flew back and landed into the seat of a swig which he swung back then forward, holding on to the swing’s chain the boy managed to dodge a swipe from the beast which cut the chain. Then the boy took the broken chain and swung it around its neck and tightened. “You’re not so tough, are ya?” The boy claimed. His voice was young and firm, he sounded about 15 or 16 years old. He tightened once more and smirked. Then the creature let out a loud screech, releasing a powerful wave of energy. The energy busted the chain into single links and sent the boy flying back. “…Never mind.” He said as he rose to his feet and wiped the blood from his newly busted lip. “Well… Seems you’ll be a bit of trouble for me.” He looks down and sees a nice sized stick. “But I’m not letting you have me!” He exclaimed as he reaches down and takes the stick and charges at his enemy with a full forced swing, the stick hit the beast’s side but the vile creature was unaffected. The boy continued to swing but by the fifth strike the stick broke and the fiend knocked the boy back a few more feet. The boy looked at the dark being, which smirked; then he looked at his broken weapon, then back at the being. It was creeping closer and closer, step by step. The boy was scared, his eyes went wide then closed tight as he yelled, “YOU CAN’T HAVE ME!” Then out of nowhere, a bright blue light of energy shot out of the broken stick. The energy was shooting everywhere and out of control then it exploded and hit the Creature, knocking it a few yards back; then the energy vanished. The boy opened his eyes. Smoke was clouding up the park; all he could see was a humanoid silhouette through the smoke. His eye lids grew heavy and began to droop but he forced them open, the shadow was closer. Then there was a light, a bright blue light. Everything the boy was seeing now was frame by frame, he was about to pass out; whatever light he released from the stick drained nearly all his energy. He saw a man in a suit of some sort of advanced armor with a helmet that covered his face and flashes of him carrying the boy to safety. •†• The boy began to awaken; feeling dazed and confused, pain shot through his body. He did not recognize the room he was in; it looked like some sort of infirmary. The room mostly empty except for a sink, some cabinets and the bed he laid in. He sat up and began to look around, wondering where he was. He immediately changed his focus to the door to his left as someone entered the room. The man was wearing a similar armor to man who saved the boy, must be some sort of uniform. The uniform was unique, something he has never seen before. It was all white with grey designs across it, it covered his whole body and included armored grieves, gauntlets, shoulder pads and a helmet. The right arm had weird orbs like things on the glove, elbow and shoulder. “Oh, hey you’re up. That’s good I was just checking up on you.” He said. The boy started to speak when the man stopped him. “Don’t worry kid, any questions you have will be answered as soon as Lieutenant Cardin gets here. He saw everything; he was actually the one that rescued you.” The man took off his helmet. He had flat orange hair and green eyes. His jaw and eyes were narrow. “By the way,” He held out his hand for a proper greeting. “Name’s Corporal Zane.” The boy reached out and shook Zane’s hand. “I’m Herro.” After Herro introduced himself another man entered the room, he stood firm and upright. Zane immediately stood to attention to this new arriver. “At ease, Corporal.” The man turned to face Herro. “Greetings, I’m Lieutenant Cardin and what might your name be?” Cardin sounded to be about in his early 30s. He finally took off his helmet; he had blue spikey hair and blue eyes. He looked calm and collective. “Herro.” He answered. “I assume you’ll be explaining some things to me.” Herro was so confused. He didn’t know what that thing was or where he was at. “Yes…” Lieutenant Cardin turned around and put his hands behind him. “I am not sure where to begin…” The lieutenant turned to face Herro again. “That things earlier… that was a Zarling. They are beings of darkness and feed off of two things; fear… and humans.” “Zarlings?” “Yes. We aren’t exactly sure where they came from yet but our research department is trying to find out. I f we could, we could stop them from the core and prevent any more from showing.” “And who are you guys anyway?” “Oh yes, sorry. That would probably be useful information wouldn’t it.” The Lieutenant stepped closer to Herro. “We are an organization known as H.E.R.O.” “Hero?” “Highly Elite Recruit Officers. We protect people from Zarlings.” Herro began to think to himself, Highly Elite Recruit Officers….Zarlings? “If this is true and you protect others, then why have I never heard of you or Zarlings and why did it take you so long to save me?” The tone in Herro’s voice started to rise a little bit. The Lieutenant held up his hand to calm him down. “Now, I was about to… but as I was about to make my move I noticed something; you we actually standing a chance in that fight. No ordinary human would be able to last three minutes in a fight against a Zarling. So I stopped and began to watch, to see if you had it.” “Had what?” “Shizo.” Lieutenant Cardin said plainly. A blank expression covered Herro’s face and Cardin smirked a little. “I expected that reaction. Shizo is energy inside gifted people. When you grabbed that stick and that energy exploited out, you were releasing your shizo as a last resort. Your body automatically released it in your time of need.” “Shizo…”This a lot to take in at once for Herro. “Okay but why bring me here?” “To offer you something.” Cardin reached into his pocket and handed Herro a card. Herro examined the card; it read ‘HERO PASS’. “What’s this?” “In three months there is a recruitment exam. Only people with this can enter the exam. I feel that you have potential to be a great officer.” The two officers began to leave the room. “Just think about it.” Cardin finished as he left the room for Herro to be alone with his wounds, the pass and his thoughts.
  25. http://lonewolf117.deviantart.com/art/Serah-Farron-Uncertain-Future-374118971 Knows his stuff I've seen plenty of people use mmd for game models....''MikuMikuDance'' was originally made for low-res cell shaded models of Hatsune Miku which...results in funny stuff and problems when you put in a high-polygon model. It's not that I have problem with people using MMD per-say...it's just that it's just not meant for characters ripped from PlayStation/Xbox games, where as XNA Lara was meant to handle game models from the get-go That and some of the perverted things people do with them are ....strange at best I know people aren't experts so they find MMD ''easier'', but, it's actually the wrong way to learn how to model and animate things. You probably shouldn't even be attempting this stuff unless you have some understanding from a teacher. Yes, I just said you should probably be a student of a modelling/animation, etc, class before trying this stuff. Because then, you actually know what you're doing and can get help. Using Kairi as a body-base is not modelling a character. The face is still Kairi's face. Also, It's actually copyright. An example of people attempting to make an OC from Kairi: http://sephirothshair.deviantart.com/art/THE-TWILIGHT-STRIKER-449413596 In videos of ''their'' characters, you can see just how badly the models end up. Everything glitches and jiggles around to no end. Not a good look. Not to mention, The face, despite being re-colored, is still recognisable as Kairi. Let's say you made a game with re-colored models ripped from someones else's game .....you'd probably get sued. (Square enix have actually sued fans before for using final fantasy models in their works: http://www.screwattack.com/news/square-enix-puts-stop-one-final-fantasy-vii-fan%E2%80%99s-3d-printed-sprite-selling-operation I'm not saying you'll get sued for making internet pictures, nobody has, but if you try to sell those picture you will. Some people actually do want to go forward with these things. That's what can get people in trouble. ) If you want to make an original character, then you should make her/him from stratch. Here's an example of doing it right. This guys uses a program that is actually meant for game models. It uses the unreal game engine. Then he uses a 3D modelling program for the backround. It results in a much better outcome for the character: The only problem is......you can only put in realistic/semi-realistic models into this program. Attempts to put in stylised characters, like those from Kingdom Hearts, have made them look super weird. The shading makes their faces go into the uncanny valley D: In conclusion, I don't want to tell you what to do, that's not what this is. If you want to use MMD for this, fine, but that's not what it's meant for and you'll probably get stuck with skills that are actually incorrect. Think of it like drawing one way so much, you can't learn how to draw any other way(or at least it's quite difficult to). This is probably a nit-pick thing to add, but, alot of these that I've seen are very much out-of-character. Advice I would give, is to follow how that character is in the game they came from. (Obviously, this topic is about making serious portrayals of characters, none of this probably matters if you just want to joke around) This is just my opinion of this whole ''3D fanart'' fad thing on DevaintArt. Take it as you will.
