  1. As of right now it is still not officially confirmed whether Ascendant, the fourth and final Divergentmovie, is still happening, but if The Divergent Series: Allegiant sells well on Home Media, then it will help support Ascendant happening. They are so close to the finish line with only the resolving conclusion left to go; they cannot just leave the movie series at this point without it. With them cutting Ascendant's budget down, they will be able to return to the same kind of effort and essence that they had with the first Divergent movie, as well as the kind of effort and essence that was put into The Maze Runner movies, all of which were made with a similar kind of lower budget. The lower the budget means that they will be able to focus more on the script and overall content that they are trying to portray, rather than overdoing it with an abundance of CGI and other stylized effects. The release dates for Allegiant on 4K Blu ray/Blu ray/DVD are as follows: July 12 2016 - North America July 13 2016 - France July 27 2016 - Australia It will also be released on OnDemand and Digital HD Media on June 21 2016 in North America Any country or continent not listed here should have their Home Media formats of the movie released at around the same time or fairly close to/not much farther from those listed.
  2. Since I did a list of most anticipated TV shows, I thought I would also list and ask your guys’ top 5 most anticipated movies for this year, 2016, with an explanation as to why. I will start by giving an honourable mention to my buddy’s movie coming out in a week (in North America anyways): Deadpool Release dates: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1431045/releaseinfo?ref_=tt_ov_inf Probably the craziest movie I will ever see, and as such it has no specific place on my list. I am a fan of the character, the metahumor, and the series, but I am not a fan of the swearing, and most especially not the sexual content. And I am 23 years old. I am still looking forward to the movie for its unique style and the things that I liked mentioned above. 1) Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them Release dates: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt3183660/releaseinfo?ref_=tt_ov_inf A Harry Potter spin off that expands more on the wizarding world! For the first time, we Harry Potter fans do not really have to compare it to a book, and can just enjoy it as a general movie! It is also from the director of one of the best Harry Potter movies, Deathly Hallows Part 1! Although I have been mixed towards his other 3 Harry Potter movies, his overall style has proven that he will do more good than bad with it. Just as long as he gives us lots of magical creatures and gives the best execution that there can be with it, then the movie should be “fantastic” 2)Finding Dory Release dates: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt2277860/releaseinfo?ref_=tt_ov_inf Next to Toy Story 4, it is probably my most anticipated Pixar sequel. Very excited to see what happens next in their world! As long as Pixar does not take things too far, and remembers the essence of who they are and what makes their movies great, then the movie should be fine! 3) The Divergent Series: Allegiant Release dates: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt3410834/releaseinfo?ref_=tt_ov_inf This 3rd Divergent movie looks like it could potentially be the best in the series yet! The movie will fundamentally expand on concepts of topian futures adding on some interesting science fiction elements not previously explored in the genre. It will also continue to dive into the depth of poignant character development that the series is so adept with. Plus, leading actress Shailene Woodely has never looked more beautiful! 4) Captain America: Civil War Release dates: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt3498820/releaseinfo?ref_=tt_ov_inf AKA The Avengers: Civil War as all but two of the Avengers (Thor and Hulk) will be in the movie, plus Black Panther, Ant-Man, and Spider-Man, the latter two being my two favorite superheroes! On that note, this movie would have been ranked higher on my list had Andrew Garfield remained as Spider-Man. Most people should realize that had he stayed on they would have been able to follow the comic book storyline of Civil War more closely, as it would have tied in greatly with the Amazing Spider-Man series to have him reveal his identity after all the trauma with Gwen, Harry, his parents and the new drama within Civil War itself. While I can understand why they had to reboot Spidey AGAIN, it still feels like a greatly missed opportunity. Still, its from the directors of one of Marvel’s best movies ever, Winter Solider, and as noted, continues however slightly off of their another of their best movies ever, Ant-Man. 5) X-Men Apocalypse Release dates: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt3385516/releaseinfo?ref_=tt_ov_inf Should be very interesting to see where they go with this film, with the inclusion of younger versions of the X-Men characters that we know and love from the previous movies (including the much awaited return of Nightcrawler!). The addition of new characters and promised “disaster movie”-like action not seen in the previous movies should also be neat to see.
  3. But whenever i see the five Foretellers: I think of the Five Factions from Divergent: What do you think?
  4. Which faction would you be? (In my opinion, I think I'd be Erudite. Cause i understand the KH logics. Just saying.) If you say Divergent, tell me which factions you're most like. (Also, if the KH characters were in Divergent, what would their factions be? Just wondering.) I will wait right here until you answer...
  5. Divergent fans, With a little less than one month till the Insurgent movie, we need to make sure that it does well enough to warrant the 2-Part Allegiant movie and Four spin-off film. Divergent’s movie was successful enough, and although the series is in a fairly safe boat, we cannot get cocky and assume that Insurgent’s movie will necessarily be a success. I have personally learned the hard way more times than I care to admit to NEVER assume anything; I cannot even begin to tell you how much I have suffered through assuming things. As it stands, there are many factors that could lead to Insurgent not doing that well: 1) While Divergent’s movie was successful, it got fairly low critical reviews. If Insurgent gets around the same score or lower, then the series could be hindered. A lot of audiences including those that did read the books really liked it and gave it high scores, but there are quite a few who did not like it. 2) It opens a week after Cinderella (at least in North America). With Cinderella being a very popular Disney Princess, and it including a Frozen short film, there could be damage done to Insurgent’s success, particularly among the core female audience. As well, Chappie also opens two weeks before, which could take away the potential core dystopian audience. Furious 7 opens two weeks later and those movies are quite popular. Home also opens one week later, and it is a family and kids movie from DreamWorks, whose movies have always been doing fairly well. 3) Divergent’s movie was not a huge hit. Compared to its low budget, which I think Insurgent has the exact same total of, or perhaps a bit more, it did well, but it only grossing $280mil could mean that audiences did not like it THAT much. Then again, there are others like myself who did not see the first movie in theatres/have become new fans of the series, which is still very popular in book form. But even if there are book fans, unless they can accept the differences between book to film and look at the movie as its own thing, then the movies may not do that well. The first movie was pretty loyal to the book, and the second/onwards is promised to be just as much or possibly more as well, but will it be enough? 4) The Insurgent book and others in the series onwards do not seem to be as popular as Divergent’s, which is part of what made Narnia Prince Caspian’s movie not do so well. As well, some fans have actually told me that they think the Allegiant movies will suck if they do NOT change it because of the sad SPOILER that happens. But if the movies are never made, how will they know if it will be changed? As well, it seems as though a lot of 2nd installments run the high risk of discontinuing series as of late. After all, look at The Amazing Spider-Man 2. Its series is now discontinued and we are getting ANOTHER Spider-Man reboot. 5) Some may still look at Divergent as just a Hunger Games knock off, and with Mockingjay Part 1 having a slightly lower gross and critical praise than Catching Fire; it may mean that the dystopian future craze could be diminishing. Now, while we do need people to go and see it, we cannot be harassing towards them. We need to let them know about it casually without making it seem like we are forcing them to. Try talking to people/making posts about the movie in the following ways within a casual and not excessive tone: - Express general excitement about the movie, and why you love the series so much. - Express the differences between it and Hunger Games and what it has to offer; do not have an “it’s better” argument. A good tip is to express the themes of belonging and one’s identity that are strong, intimate and universal themes that all can relate to. - Show them Divergent (if possible, pay for it through On Demand services, or buy the movie on DVD/Blu Ray if you do not have it already or even buy a new copy and give it to friends as a gift). Perhaps offer to treat them to the Insurgent movie if possible. - Another thing to note too is that the Mocking Jay Part 1 Blu ray which comes out on March 6 contains a sneak peak of Insurgent. If you know any Hunger Games fans, please tell them about that/possibly buy the Blu ray for them - Another good tip is, if it is possible, when going to the movie, do not buy anything other than the ticket and convince others to do so too. I know that it is a part of one’s movie going experience, but it seems like the excessive buying is what is making people so picky about going to see movies in general. If they have less to spend, then they will more likely go. - Of course, try to see the movie as many times as you can, all in 3D if possible. If you or another do not like 3D, see it as early as possible to see the movie in non-3D, because the later the movie stays in theatres, the sooner it gets rid of the non-3D show times (at least at my theatres). - Perhaps put together a slideshow, video etc. explaining to people why they should see it. Make it personal and relatable to them specifically i.e. if they are similar to a character or have gone through similar thematic elements/experiences etc. Remember, we cannot “make” people go see Insurgent, but we can “help” them. Try your own ideas too and see what works ☺
