  1. I felt the need to put a thread here, since there's a TON of misinformation a lot of fans seem to think is fact, even though there's no actual proof for most of it. Now, my proof for everything comes from 2 articles from IGN from E3 this year & D23 last year where they interviewed Tetsuya Nomura himself on the matter of porting the games to Xbox One & Switch. I will cite my sources at the end of this text wall. Ok, now for the arguments & the counter-arguments. 1. "Xbox doesn't sell well in Japan." True, but if they didn't see any use in porting it to the system, then they wouldn't be porting III to it. 2. "They've never ported games to the system." This one confuses the hell outta me. Thanks to ITzDarthLordRaven for making me aware that this was even a think. Ok, first of all, Square has ported games to the Xbox before. The Final Fantasy series has had games on that system since FFXI, with the XIII series following & XV coming out just 2 years ago on it. There are also other games they've published to the system. They're also porting III to the system. They're well-versed in how to develop for the system. 3. "They don't pay attention to the KH community or anyone who want it on the Xbox." This is insanity on the face of it for one reason. Square has been listening to fans for the last few years. If they didn't, they wouldn't have made Re:Coded's cutscene movie on 2.5 better than 358/2 with the storytelling, they wouldn't have ported 1.5 & 2.5 to PS4 & subsequently patched most of the problems the 60fps patch caused afterwards, & they wouldn't be listening to the KH YouTubers' thoughts on the initial demo to improve the game. They listen, give them some credit here. 4. "They're waiting to see how III does in terms of sales numbers." This might be true, but there's a sizable number of people that are going to get the game on Xbox. Either people who're just trying the series for the first time, or are returning to the series after having played the original PS2 releases of the first 2 main games that now game on Xbox. 5. "It'd cost them a lot of money to do it." No it wouldn't. The games are already upscaled to 1080p & are put at 60fps. All they have to do is have a small group of programmers change some lines of code & optimize it for the Xbox One, which would only cost them for their time to pay them. Porting the games have already paid off on the PS4 versions alone. Around 25 million copies of 1.5, 2.5, & 2.8 don't lie. 6. "PlayStation has an exclusivity contract." No. No they don't. I've also read a person saying they heard Sony holds the distribution rights to the games. No they don't. The series is owned by DISNEY, one of Sony's direct competitors. Square is the main developer of the series. Since Disney isn't a video game/console company (yet), nor do they own any game companies (yet), this is their setup. Sony has only let them publish the games to their consoles. Nothing more, nothing less. For reference, Nomura has explicitly stated that it's possible to bring them to the Xbox. They're just waiting for III to be done with development first, as well as talk to Microsoft. So, it's only a matter of time, coupled with the Final Fantasy ports coming to Xbox, Switch, PC, & PS4. 3. Source: http://www.naruto-videogames.com/en/the-road-to-boruto-expansion-is-coming-to-naruto-shippuden-ultimate-ninja-storm-4/ Looks like Namco and CC2 are finally giving those of us that couldn't pre-order the game a way to get Boruto and Sarada, as well as adding in a ton of additional content! This sounds like it's going to be very similar to Ultimate Ninja Storm 3: Full Burst, but judging from the description on the official website, it sounds like it's going to add more content than Full Burst did (It mentions additional new characters outside of Boruto, Sarada, and Kinshiki). I haven't gotten to pick up Storm 4 yet since I don't have a PS4, but I'm still very excited for this! I'm hoping they give it another retail release with all the DLC available like Full Burst had. EDIT: It looks like the game will get another retail release including all previous DLC and the Road to Boruto expansion! 6. Hey everyone! Today I would like to share with you my thoughts on Rise of the Tomb Raider, published by Square Enix and developed by Crystal Dynamics. I would like to preface this review by saying I will not spoil any of the story, and if you did not like the 2013 reboot, Tomb Raider, then you will not like Rise of the Tomb Raider. Now, if you did like the 2013 reboot, then you are in for a treat. Rise of the Tomb Raider keeps common elements from the previous game: gorgeous environments, upgradeable skills and weapons, and a thrilling, action-packed story. It has been debated as to whether the story becomes too predictable, but I'll say that I did not see the large twist coming, so the story kept me on-edge and wanting more! Aside from bringing back the enjoyable elements that made the previous game great, Rise of the Tomb Raider introduces just a bit more. The most notable of these additions is the inclusion of side quests, or extra missions. There weren't that many, so it did not get repetitive, and the missions were different pretty much every time. It was an interesting addition. Aside from that, combat was much more fluid and crafting weapons/ammo was simple and made gameplay that much better. Lastly, the greatest improvement is the much more tame action. Let me explain: In the first game, it seemed that every jump you make would lead to some disaster in which Lara goes through a near-death experience. It seemed really over-the-top. That doesn't happen nearly as much in this title. Really, the only gripes I have with the game are the occasionally wonky movements (it took a few tries to get the jump placed perfectly to climb the wall, etc.) and the fact that ammo/crafting materials are WAY too plentiful. I never felt the urgency or desperation to collect materials because I was always in full stock. Also, the fact that I could craft ammo means that there really didn't need to be ammo lying around every corner. Other than that, the game was very enjoyable. In conclusion, if you enjoyed the first, you'll love Rise of the Tomb Raider. They didn't fix much, which is fine, and the things they did improve on were for the better. Verdict: 9.4/10

    2.8 on Xbox One?

In the 2.8 announcement trailer, 2.8 was only announced for the PlayStation 4. It would be a bit weird if Square Enix only released the official prologue game for Kingdom Hearts 3 on the PlayStation 4 only, since Kingdom Hearts 3 is coming out on the Xbox One as well. I think that 2.8 will be confirmed for the Xbox One at a later date, like what Square did for KH3. It doesn't really affect me because I won't play either game on an Xbox One, but Square shouldn't forget about the Xbox fans. What do you guys all think?
  8. Shortly following the premiere at Gamescom, the footage of the Rise of the Tomb Raider demo has been uploaded to YouTube. The demo begins with a cutscene of Lara Croft being driven through a rugged terrain by a hired driver before their jeep is over taken by a militia aircraft. After narrowly escaping, the rest of the demo features Lara wandering through several different environments that showcase many of the situations that you may encounter within the game while also giving you a few snippets of plot information. Rise of the Tomb Raider is scheduled to be released on the Xbox One & Xbox 360 November 10th of this year for North America, November 12th for Australia, and November 13th for Europe. Rise of the Tomb Raider will also be released for Windows in early 2016 and for PlayStation 4 in late 2016.
  9. If, by the time, KH3 comes out and I still don't have the console for it, I'm still going to get it. It's going to keep me motivated to save up for a PS4. Yes, I'm might be down a few bucks but hey, I just gotta work harder.

  11. According to vcpost, Tetsuya Nomura stated that the delay of Kingdom Hearts III is due to "being busy with other projects such as Final Fantasy Versus XIII" and also that visuals of the game could affect the possible future of the consoles. This can potentially lead to being released on current systems depending on the technical requirements of the next gen consoles of Playstation 4 and Xbox One. With the information provided in the article by vcpost, it looks as if Kingdom Hearts III could be delayed even further.
  12. 4 Player Couch Co-op? It's exactly what I've always wanted from this series!
  13. I see myself saying this a lot,not only here, but on other sites as well, so I figured I'd make a topic. While there are many topics regarding a possible port, most of them lean heavily to the side of it happening, which is understandable, the more KH the better, right? But let's be realistic here. The chances of a PS4 port are, quite frankly, very slim. Not only because because of the schedule restraints, but for another reason as well. A big one. As it stands now, porting it to the PS4 would be illegal. I don't know how it is with Microsoft, which it why I haven't mentioned the XBOX ONE yet, despite it being in the title and tags, but Sony mandates that all PS4 games receive digital copies. Square-Enix and Disney Interactive do not currently have the rights to digital versions of any of Utada Hikaru's songs. If they port it to the PS4 they will have to make a digital copy as well, the release of which would clearly violate the their contact with Utada. The only way to avoid this would be to remove her songs from the digital versions of the games entirely. You may bring up the fact that Kingdom Hearts III is releasing on PS4. Yes it is, but we don't yet know if they plan to use the songs they've been using for the past 12 years. It is likely they aren't because, as stated, doing so would entail a mandatory digital release of Hikari/Simple and Clean and/or Passion/Sanctuary. This also means that for the third game in the series, we will get a brand new opening song. I'm not a lawyer so I don't know how long licensing contract last, but until it expires they are bound by its terms. If they are allowed to retain the rights to the two specific versions of each of the four songs these provided them, then they are free to do as they please, if however the rights revert back to Utada, then they will have to get new songs anyway, which also frees them up to release the games digitally. So, until or unless the the contract expires, they decide to remove the songs from the digital copies or they manage to renegotiate with Utada and all three parties agree to the terms, we won't be seeing Kingdom Hearts HD ReMIx collections on the PS4 any time soon. P.S. My apologies hatok. I assure you, did not make this thread simply in reply to yours, but because I see myself saying the same thing on this subject every time it comes upon the sites I visit.

    Halo: The Master Chief Collection

I noticed there wasn't a topic for Halo on XBox One so I decided to take matters into my own hands. And I was just wanting to see if we have players in the community here. Also, is anyone still having matchmaking issues? Has anyone watched Halo: Nightfall? So discuss Halo and what not...
  15. OK, before I get attacked, just hear me out. The Wii U for starters has a pretty strong library of games. It has Super Mario 3d land,Hyrule Warriors,WW HD, Pikmin 3, Game and Wario, and so on and so forth. It's lineup of games is even better in my opinion with games like Bayonetta 2,Smash Bros. Wii U,Splatoon,Mario Maker, and Yoshis wooly world. As for the Xbox One, it shares every next gen exclusive game(besides the ones from sony owned developers) with the PS4, and then some. It has project spark,Halo Master Chief collection,Sunset Overdrive, and a plethora of other exclusives. The PS4 mostly just has games that are also on PC,Xbox One, and last gen with the exception of knack, infamous, and killzone which are games that don't interest me very much. But thats just my opinion
  16. Due to the recent announcement of the next Tomb Raider installment being exclusive to Xbox One, Geoff Keighly took it upon himself to ask multiple Microsoft employees about it at Gamescom. According to him, they've told him it's only exclusive for one Holiday season. Aaron Greenberg, the head of Marketing at Microsoft, claims otherwise, but who is telling the truth? I actually believe it's a timed exclusive, as I already made that guess yesterday. What helps here is that other Xbox One exclusives such as Plants vs Zombies: Garden Warfare, Dead Rising 3, and Ryse: Son of Rome are now making their way to PlayStation 4. This is why I didn't complain about it at all. Microsoft sucks at keeping 3rd party exclusives. Source: http://www.gamnesia.com/news/report-rise-of-the-tomb-raider-is-a-timed-exclusive-microsoft-denies#.U-uN0sEpDQ8 EDIT: Phil Spencer confirmed the timed exclusive in an interview with Eurogamer. Source: http://www.gamnesia.com/news/xbox-boss-confirms-rise-of-the-tomb-raider-is-a-timed-exclusive#.U-uRv8EpDQ8
  17. This is such bullshit. I am sure many of you have heard by now that Rise of the Tomb raider will be exclusive to Xbox One. We all know Microsoft is desperate at this point since the PS4 is outselling the XB1 3:1, and their desperation has just shown once again. I REALLY hope Sony pays Square Enix millions of dollars to make BOTH FFXV and KH3 PS4 exclusive. That will really stick it to microsoft and their bullshit.
  18. Takahata101 of Team Four Star has just announced that the next episode of Dragon Ball Z Abridged will be an Xbox One exclusive.
  19. I sure will. That and KHIII are my only reasons for getting a PS4 in the future until more Japanese games are announced. It looks like the best game in the series in a long time and I am very excited for it.
