  1. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B2KGcuh07rw In this video, I will be tracing the connections between 52 different versions of Xion’s theme, following the journey from when her battle theme was called “Dirge of the Fourteenth”, until today, where we know it as “Vector to the Heavens”, establishing how there are many hidden influences between all these versions, including some of the official versions included in the games. I did a LOT of research for this video, and although there were some issues with the editing, I'm still very excited to share the results. I know it's a very long video this time, but if you're a fan of KH music, I believe you'll find it very interesting I also tried to make this one as easily digestible to those unfamiliar with musical terms, as possible. I hope you enjoy it!

  8. Classic FM have begun revealing their annual Hall of Fame list this weekend. After not being included in 2019's list, Kingdom Hearts Composer Yoko Shimomura has reappeared on the list. Kingdom Hearts (including the Other Promise) finished at #245. A description of Yoko from the Hall of Fame list can be read below. This marks the 5th year that Yoko has made an appearance on the Classic FM Hall of Fame. In 2015, she placed 30th while in 2016 she placed 31st. In 2017, she finished 119th and in 2018 she finished 188th. Other musical compositions that have been showcased in the Kingdom Hearts series have also made it into the top 300 list for Hall of Fame 2020, including the following: "A Night on the Bare Mountain" ranked at no. 277 "Pirates of the Caribbean: Curse of the Black Pearl" ranked at no. 190 "Final Fantasy Series (including One-Winged Angel)" ranked at no. 171 "Nutcracker" ranked at no. 10 "Symphony no. 6 in F Major Op.68 (Pastoral)" ranked at no. 17 Congratulations to Yoko Shimomura and her success in making Classic FM's Hall of Fame list for the 5th time!

A new video has been uploaded on the late XXXTENTACION's YouTube channel featuring "Nocturne", a track composed by Kingdom Hearts composer Yoko Shimomura in memory of the late musician Jahseh Onfroy, who was a big fan of Kingdom Hearts. Here, Shimomura is seen playing the piano for the track; at the end of the video, Yoko responds to an question on why she decided to name the track "Nocturne", while a video of Onfroy listening to her music on repeat on a boat plays in the background. The video also features tweets that Onfroy had made about his love for Kingdom Hearts. "Nocturne" is featured on the Deluxe edition of XXXTentacion's second studio album "?", which released today. Shimomura said on Twitter that she composed the track while thinking about what Onfroy was thinking in the very last moments before his death, and that she would be happy if fans would listen to it. She also wrote that Onfroy loved her music so much that he listened to her songs before going to bed every night. She added that when she was shown the video of Onfroy on the boat listening to Kingdom Hearts music (more specifically, the track "Vector to the Heavens" from Shimomura's album "memória!"), it brought her to tears. While the set list will be announced at a later date, Yoko Shimomura 30th Anniversary Orchestra Concert -Thanks Again!!- will feature well known musical pieces Shimomura has composed throughout her career, performed by the Tokyo Symphony Orchestra and Tokyo Chorus.
