http://kotaku.com/disney-cancels-disney-infinity-1775846793 In layman terms, Disney Infinity has discontinued, but more importantly, Disney is no longer going to be a gaming publisher?! Seeing as Disney owns the rights to the Kingdom Hearts series: what does that mean for the franchise?

In an 2016 fiscal earnings report released by The Walt Disney Company, it was listed that the company would be discontinuing Disney Infinity. Disney Interactive later released a statement on their website confirming this news. Unfortunately, this announcement confirms that there will be no future collaborations between the Kingdom Hearts series and Disney Infinity. The Kingdom Key was announced as the Ultimate Unlock for Disney Infinity 3.0 at D23 2016 and attendees also received special power discs that allowed their Mickey figures to don his outfit from the Kingdom Hearts series. The Ultimate Unlock became available in Disney Infinity 3.0 as of March 15, 2016. Disney Infinity will release two final play sets for the upcoming movies Alice Through the Looking Glass and Finding Dory before ceasing production. The Alice Through The Looking Glass play set will release May 2016 and the Finding Dory play set will release in June 2016. What other sort collaborations would you like to see Kingdom Hearts be involved with in the future? Let us know in the comments.

Update: channel have now released a brand new video showing Mickey using the Blizzard spell and three additional abilities including Ars Arcanum, Stun Impact (referred to as Thunder in the video) and Ragnarok, which you can check out below. The original article follows. <3 Thanks to , we've got a first look at the Keyblade as the Ultimate Unlock in Disney Infinity 3.0. The footage shows off a Mickey figure using the King Mickey power disc given away at D23 and how the Keyblade works both when in action and when it's not in use. When the Keyblade is not in use, the playable character will tuck the Keyblade into a sheath that is based off of the heart shape found in all of the logos of the Kingdom Hearts series. When the Keyblade is used for attacks, it can function in a variety of ways. When at a distance, the Keyblade will send out magic spells that seem similar to the fire and blizzard spells seen in the series. When in close range to enemies, the character will perform short combos with the Keyblade. The Keyblade will be available as the Ultimate Unlock starting on March 15th, 2016. So now that Kingdom Hearts has officially crossed over into the Disney Infinity universe (which is actually the first time the series has crossed over into another third party video game console), with Disney Infinity 3.0 having a special Keyblade weapon to unlock after 100% everything, including all figures bought from DI1.0 - DI3.0 and maxing them to their levels, and having a Power Disc (a disc that helps upgrade your character's costume or abilities; in this case, costume) where you can change Mickey's regular form into his Kingdom Hearts outfit, we might have a chance at seeing more things in store with Disney Infinity focused on the Kingdom Hearts franchise. One interesting thing to note about, is that the previous Disney Infinity games put small, detailed teasers that would be focused on the next theme of the series. Disney Infinity 1.0 and 2.0 teased with items from the Star Wars series through the Ultimate Unlock system, having to 100% everything to be able to access them. 1.0 had the Lightsaber weapon, and 2.0 had a Star Wars ship you can be able to ride around. Today we found out that the next Ultimate Unlock item is the Keyblade from the Kingdom Hearts series. With that said, this meant Square-Enix and Disney Infinity had previous discussions on how to implement something from the Kingdom Hearts series into the game's universe. Could this mean bigger plans for the future of the Disney Infinity cross over with Kingdom Hearts? With just this teaser, we might be able to see Kingdom Hearts again in the future with Disney Infinity. What's even more to think about, is having a Disney Infinity game entirely focusing on the Kingdom Hearts franchise this time. This means we might get all of the Kingdom Hearts figures, including Sora, Riku, Kairi, Ven, Terra, Aqua, Organization members, Xehanort, etc., Play Sets based on each game of the series (Play sets are pieces you place on the Disney Infinity base to access story-like mode with cutscenes, bosses and missions to complete) for example: one play set focusing on Kingdom Hearts 1, another with Kingdom Hearts 2, one with Birth By Sleep and so forth. Power Discs that could give you different keyblades from various Kingdom Hearts games (Decisive Pumpkin, Kingdom D, etc) and other Kingdom Hearts outfits like Donald's and (possibly Goofy's) costume. And much more. It also seems that Disney Infinity loves coming out with more games when big events are going on, example: Disney Infinity 2.0 came out when Avengers was still hot, and Disney Infinity 3.0 is coming out with the new Star Wars episode on the horizon, Disney Infinity 4.0 could come out when KH3 is near it's release, and might even have a Play Set focused on Kingdom Hearts 3! What do you think? If this were to happen, what specifically would you buy, and what wouldn't you get? What would you love to see enter Disney Infinity 4.0 based from the Kingdom Hearts series?

Disney Big Hero 6 Marvel Argument Solved
Guest posted a topic in Kingdom Hearts III & Kingdom Hearts III Re Mind
There's always been the argument as to whether the animated Big Hero 6 is Marvel. To most people, the animated version of Big Hero 6 may seem like Marvel because it's adapting a Marvel comic and Disney now owns Marvel, however, here are the key reason as to why Disney's version of Big Hero 6 is not a Marvel property. 1) There's no direct involvement by Marvel https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Big_Hero_6_(film) If you click on this link then you will be directed to the official Big Hero 6 Wikipedia page. Look on the right of the Baymax poster and see where you can see the words "Marvel"? That's right, there is no "Marvel" present there. That's because Marvel was never directly involved with the movie in the first place. It was solely produced by Walt Disney Animation Studios and is canon to the Disney Cinematic Universe. 2) It's not based in the Marvel Cinematic/Comic Universe This is another prominent aspect that you should be aware of. The directors of the movie (Don Hall/Chris Williams) purposely made it so that it does not connect to the Marvel Cinematic Universe. This was done in order to further emphasise that it is not a "Marvel" movie, but rather, a Marvel adaptation. Just like how Disney's The Little Mermaid is based off Hans Christians Andersen's Tale. 3) Hiro and Baymax's Disney Infinity Figures were part of the Disney collection and not the Marvel collection This is the most subtle means of identifying the fact that Disney's Big Hero 6 is not a Marvel property, because, if Disney's Big Hero 6 was Marvel then it would been placed in the Marvel collection instead. It may not seem like much but it is a huge means of distinguishing. Did you know that Marvel decline creating a Marvel series for Disney's Big Hero 6 as there were disputes of the comics direction which resulted the company releasing the Baymax manga instead! Now that I have cleared the fact Disney's Big Hero 6 is solely Disney's and not Marvel, do you want the world in Kingdom Hearts 3?- 20 replies

Normally, I wouldn't say much on Disney Infinity stuff, but 2.0 is looking good, plus we've got characters like Stitch, Tinkerbell, and Marvel Super Heroes on the way. But there's only one character that can top it off...Donald Duck. My all-time favorite Disney character joins the cast of Disney Infinity in this silly trailer. http://youtu.be/kzjKPvfc1qk

saw a live video of the unveiling of Disney Infinity 2.0, and I must say it was AWESOME!!! We're getting an Avengers Playset! And if you look closely you can see Stitch, Maleficent, and Merida in the trailer. And I believe I saw a race track that was themed to ATLANTIS: THE LOST EMPIRE!!!!!!! But adding Marvel characters aren't the only new thing coming to Disney Infinity 2.0. Like the Skylanders game, players will be able to use previous Disney Infinity toys into this new updated version. So far the known figures we will see are Captain America, Iron Man, Hulk, Thor, Black Widow, and Hawkeye. They were seen during the unveiling. But don't worry, there are “over a dozen” more figures to come. More than 80 new power discs will be released for Disney Infinity 2.0, including new features such as team-ups where additional non-player characters (such as Iron Patriot and the Winter Soldier) will arrive and help as well as costume changes. New vehicles will include motorcycles, a mini Helicarrier, and even “Lola” from “Agents of SHIELD.” The Disney Infinity Marvel Super Heroes Starter Pack comes with three heroes plus an “Avengers” play set piece. In addition to the classic gameplay, there will be Toy Box Games added for more gameplay, including tower defense and dungeon crawler options. www.insidethemagic.net/wp-cont… The “Avengers” play set will feature Marvel Manhattan, four times larger than the previous version’s largest play set (The Incredibles). There will be recognizable locations from Marvel movies, like Stark Tower. Gameplay is enhanced with more locomotion options for each superhero. There’s hover and forward flight modes, both featuring combat, plus a super jump feature and wall climbing for certain characters (Hulk, Spider-Man). Combat is further enhanced with special moves for each character with new animations that match each character’s abilities. Black Widow is a melee character while Thor and Captain America are brawlers, each featuring difficult moves. Hawkeye is a range character, where battle is focused on his bow. Characters have upgradable abilities, like Hawkeye’s bow and Cap’s shield. www.insidethemagic.net/wp-cont… www.insidethemagic.net/wp-cont… www.insidethemagic.net/wp-cont… www.insidethemagic.net/wp-cont… www.insidethemagic.net/wp-cont… The Toy Box mode in Disney Infinity Marvel Super Heroes has been altered with the addition of structured play. It’s not solely a do-it-yourself mode like the original, which Disney Infinity creators describe as “complicated” and admit they may have “missed the mark” a bit with it. A new brush system allows easy creation of cities, race tracks, dungeons, castles, tree houses, and other widespread structures. This is something I will really enjoy! www.insidethemagic.net/wp-cont… New “builder” characters will help players build up worlds in the Toy Box automatically, though everything they create will be fully editable. www.insidethemagic.net/wp-cont… www.insidethemagic.net/wp-cont… Interiors are also added to Toy Box mode, enabling further customization of elaborate structures, both inside and out, filling them with props and decorations. I will really have fun with this! www.insidethemagic.net/wp-cont… www.insidethemagic.net/wp-cont… www.insidethemagic.net/wp-cont… New tower defense levels include Asgard from “Thor,” enabling a battle across the galaxy within Toy Box mode. www.insidethemagic.net/wp-cont… Dungeon crawler levels are automatically generated, allowing players to explore, scavenge, and battle through vast randomly created worlds, all within the Toy Box. www.insidethemagic.net/wp-cont… www.insidethemagic.net/wp-cont… Game creation within the Toy Box mode will be more powerful and easier to use, allowing players to develop their own unique play modes. www.insidethemagic.net/wp-cont… There will be more user generated content to come and Disney Interactive is beginning to hire expert Toy Box builders to work for them to develop even more downloadable content. VENOM IS PLAYABLE IN DISNEY INFINITY 2.0!!!!!! pbs.twimg.com/media/BpZ7IccIEA…
