Back again for the first time, for the last time... probably not the last time depending on my mood, but hey, I'm doing another review! ... You guys are going to read this one, right? I mean, I know you're probably busy with your everyday lives, but you know, I like writing these things and it kinda disheartens me that I keep seeing nobody really comment on them or anything. Yeah, views are a thing, but for me, actual written responses are much more valuable. I mean, am I not that good of a reviewer, do I need to do things differently? If that's true, then you can tell me that, but you actually do have to comment-okay okay, I'll stop. Just forget, let's just dive in. So, when this movie was coming out way back, I did my best to cover as much news as possible because I was genuinely excited and was looking forward to seeing it when it come out... and of course, I missed it when it hit theaters because I'm a broke loser. HOWEVER -- I got to see it finally! And now, I feel obligated to say my complete thoughts about it to honor those past threads I made about the news. So here we go. Without further ado, IT'S MORPHIN' TIME!

Ah, see, they can have some fun while still doing a darker reimagining of the source material. Also, insert Smash Mouth joke here.

A while back, we found out that Zordon's trusty robot assistant Alpha 5 will be in the movie and will also be voiced by Bill Hader. Now, after getting confirmation of Alpha 5 will sound like, we have confirmation of what Alpha 5 will look like. This design is obviously a big contrast to how he looks in the original show, but that's to be expected. One thing to take way is that he still keeps the original color scheme of gold/grey/red. Personally, I believe Alpha 5 probably won't play a big part in the movie as he is only meant to be Zordon's assistant and nothing more, so the design is nothing really for me to take away from other than, well, it exists. I do however appreciate how it keeps in line with the new "futuristic/symbiotic" theme that seems to be taking hold of the whole PR aesthetic in the film.

(Spoiler tagged for size & length) Source The newest piece of "Power Rangers" related rolls in with teaser posters featuring the Zords i.e. the giant mecha that are assigned to each Ranger which then put together form the classic Megazord. The posters all show off each individual Ranger with their respective Zord: Jason with Tyannosarus, Zack with Mastadon, Billy with Triceratops and with easily the best pose out of all of them (), Trini with Sabertooth Tiger, and Kimberly with Pterodactyl. It seems as though the powers that be are keeping the Zords under wraps for the most part. This might be a indicator that A) They want to keep the Zords and also the Megazord as secret as possible until the film release or B) they want to do so until they show it all off (or maybe just a little more of it off) in an possible upcoming trailer.

Source Well, crap. So, not too long after I made a thread about the Zords posters, now we have confirmation that joining the A-List celebs working on this movie such as Bryan Cranston (Zordon) and Elizabeth Banks (Rita) is Bill Hader as Alpha 5. Bill Hader and Power Rangers is honestly not too things I ever expected to come together, but you know what? It fits. Bill Hader is a actor/voice actor known for doing wacky characters. Alpha 5 from the original show is a wacky character. It all adds up. Unless, you know, all the hype and marketing gets turned on its head when the movie comes out and he ends up being like a sadistic Dalek-like thing... pls no, Saban.

Once again posting a Black Nerd Comedy video instead of articles because a) he pretty much brought up everything you could have seen in the video b) he's basically been put under legal permission to dispense this information and c) ... seriously, subscribe to this guy, he's great. As for the news itself: Bryan Cranston is Zordon... I guess we know what's going to be in the Power Crystals now. ... That was a Breaking Bad reference. ... ignore me, I'm rambling. Jokes aside, I like this choice. Cranston's a very good dramatic actor and has the ability to let loose with some humor when prompted as well, so he can easily fit into his sort of role in this sort of environment (depending on how serious this film wants to take itself that is, and even if that happens, you still got that drama factor). And yes, all those Power Ranger facts about Cranston in relation to MMPR are in fact true. So already, we can confirm that this film is trying to pander to the hardcore fans.

I opted to post this video about the article instead of just the article itself because... well, because Black Nerd is awesome, that's why. Anyways: the suits, much like Rita's design, are clearly made for a contemporary and modern audience. I didn't mind Rita's design, and I don't mind these designs either. Honestly, they look really cool.
