Upon further approval the world leaders have signed down upon the contract for the operation, which remains hidden within an undisclosed location, to proceed with the operation. Along with this the nations have also signed to a code of silence where such knowledge of the protocol is to remain hidden from public knowledge outside of high security personnel. The following is a recording of an unnamed individual with personal connections to the protocol. “…Hello. My name is [bEEP]. I am here to tell you about protocol FREAK SHOW CIRCUS. Originally the leaders of the nations had turned down the protocol, but after the recent rise in supernatural and mortal crime, we had no other choice. Now you might be wondering about why I said the word ‘Supernatural’. Well it is because the crimes are indeed, of supernatural origin. The legends of creatures of the nights, the boogie man, the monster in the closet, the vampires and werewolves and so on. Though not always as the media portrays them…they are all real, and living among us in this world we call home. Where I to mention all of the myths that are actually reality I would never reach an end. To make it easier, consider everything that you’ve ever heard to be true or at least near to it. Now that you understand that they exist, you may also understand the situation of security. Usually each government is assigned to their own problems within their country to deal with their own crimes. However due to the shortage of ‘willing supernatural employees’ on hand, there is only so much each can do to keep it in control. In the end protocol FREAK SHOW CIRCUS, code-named CIRCUS was suggested, a protocol applying to all countries of the world in hopes of keeping the world’s security under control. The protocol is an organization created to deal with these crimes, and bring balance to the world. The organization divides itself as well as disguises themselves as Circuses, allowing them to travel across the land without suspicion. Each circus has a name, and a ringmaster that receives orders from higher ups that they must fulfill. The Circus itself composed of humans, supernatural creatures, and as the name applies, Freak Show worthy abominations with gifted powers. Now you are wondering why this not was suggested much earlier. Well…it is because of the moral rules that do not apply within the circus itself. As you can guess the job is dangerous, and though some join willingly for protection and a place to call home, there aren’t enough to satisfy the need of members to keep the circuses working. Therefore, members are usually taken in unwillingly…and forcibly changed in order to make them properly fitted to work for the circus. Usually incarcerated surgeons of the highest and yet disturbing abilities have been released to join the circus in order to deform such new members. Unless you have abilities on your own, you will most likely be deformed to join the Freak Show part of the circus, gifted abilities in exchange of a new face to call your own. If you’re still in doubts, let me clarify. Yes. We do kidnap some of our members, and we do forcibly make them stay. Admission is permanent and the only way to leave is through a successful escape or termination. Not like they have much of a choice. After being deformed they have no other place to go. We understand that it is immoral, and that it is what could be considered the worst of crimes…but for the sake of the world, we have no choice. So yes, the secret organization that is meant to keep the world safe is made up of sins that we could never be forgiven if there is indeed a judgment after death. Ironic really. But if you’re hearing this…it also means that you are currently in part of joining such organization for life. The Protocol is made up of multiple circuses that travel performing for audiences to be able to avoid suspicion while doing their work. Each circus has a name, and cast made up of humans, gifted humans, supernatural beings and deformed beings. The circuses are known to kidnap and deform people that they see might have potential, and force them to join the circus willingly or not. Whether you will die doing your job or die trying to escape it, it doesn’t really matter. This Circus is your home, and the members your family. For admission is permanent, and your only way out is through death’s door. After all, we have a government seal protecting us. There are no rules. Everything goes. FAQ: What supernatural creatures exist?Every possible. From myths, legends, creepypastas, the personification of holidays, all of them exist. This also includes locations, such as El Dorado and Atlantis and so on. They either live among humans, away from them, or in between. Some join the circuses in order to be protected under a government seal, which means they are protected by humans and government itself. How many circuses are there?The definite number is unknown, however the main circus of this story is known as the Dark Woods Circus. Their abilities usually have to do with their given deformity.) Explain more about the Deformity and abilities?When a human is kidnapped, unless they show a special gift of their own or willingly volunteer to be part of human staff, they are deformed. The process not only changes their appearance, but they also gain inhuman abilities that vary depending on what the surgeon has done to them, their abilities usually relating to their deformity. Example would be if you are given multiple arms, you would be a good sword fighter or of the sorts. If something was done to your legs, you may be a fast runner, or jumper. Maybe you’re gifted with the ability to breathe underwater. The possibilities are seemingly endless. What do the doctors do?As implied most doctors hired into the circus had been incarcerated or put on death row due to crimes involving medical advancement. Such abilities are useful in the deformation of new comers. Other than deforming new comers to gift them, they act as general doctors for the staff. They also keep a second pair of eyes watching over the staff for any activity if the Ringmaster is busy. Who is the Ringmaster?He or She is the leader of the Circus. They receive the orders from above, and then gives the orders to those below them. Ringmasters are usually selected for their role due to their immense strength or experience with working in supernatural crimes. It is rumored most are supernatural beings themselves, however no one knows what kind. How is the Circus?Use your imagination, but if it helps, imagine it as a normal circus but with not so normal staff. You sleep in set up tents when settled down and travel from location to location. When not performing or given a mission, you have free reign to explore as long as you return. Fights and events such as birthdays are casual, and eventually even the coldest members warm up to their fellow members as family. Sometimes you will be sent on a mission while the circus itself is performing, keeping the town busy to keep them away from harm. Whether it would be to perform or help setting up the tent and so on. Other than that the circus will provide the members with missions that they must accomplish. These missions are usually detective work and solving crimes, most cases involving fighting as well. You can do these missions in groups or solo. Year: 3XXX Date: December 15th Location: Serenita; an island near the land Arete. In small town called Niphad. An outbreak of ‘Insanity’ has taken a hold of most of the town. Mission: Find a cure, survive, find sanctuary. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ In the distant future on the island of Serenita, the tiny snow-covered town of Niphad has been undergoing a change. First, a little history about Niphad. It is a highly technologically-advanced town, despite it’s size, more so than Arete and the tiny Fiiyavic Isle. It’s home to both humans and various types of androids, and they live in peace and harmony in the town. Following the footsteps of a certain closed-off city in the main land of Arete, scientists had began development of a type of serum to revolutionize the health of both humans and androids. While working, they kept the serum in a large, old container for storage as they worked out the kinks on the samples. However, because the container was old and unstable, it erupted with a loud explosion, and the contained serum spilled out and covered everyone on in that room, the liquid getting into their eyes and mouths. The serum infected them, and made every scientist slowly lose their minds after some time. They all became mentally unstable, and suddenly developed strength beyond that of a human, and only sought to infect others with the deadly new sickness that was literal ‘Insanity’. The RP takes place right after the accident happened, and the cast of characters have to find a cure as well as find sanctuary from the town and not get infected by ‘Insanity’. Date: [uNSPECIFIED] Title: REPORT ON OPERATION OF "DARK WOODS CIRCUS" The circus has arrived at the town of Storyville, and have begun to set up tent in the plaza right in the middle of the town. The prospects of new members becoming part of the operation looks promising... The carriages surrounded the plaza, creating somewhat of a barrier as the tents were set up. There were many, small and medium, along with the biggest of them all, the grand tent that stood right in the middle in order to host the show. The other tents held different types of things, such as sleeping halls, doctor's office, food stands, and individual stands for other stuff, including Tabita's small round tent to offer her clairvoyant activities to the guests and the public. Happy was helping out set up the camp...being happy as he always was. "Alright! Remember, everyone, everything needs to be perfect for when the guests start to arrive! I also suggest you all keep an eye out for any prospects. Any volunteers that wish to help gain the prospects do need to ask first, I don't want you guys fighting over it like the last time." Tonight, we find ourselves on Main Street, inside of a city called Athánatos. To any average person, they may not know of this city, mostly because it's cut off from the rest of the world. It even has it's own government. But, as of late, the city has undergone a, shall we say, metamorphosis of sorts. One that would change the citizens of Athánatos until their very last breaths. Here is a quick background of the history of the city of Athánatos, and its current trials. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ In a dim and distant future, mankind has been altered after a reconstruction of the race. The Earth is now anew and its inhabitants are now vastly different. How did this occur? 60 years ago, In the small city known as Athánatos, beasts and humans lived alongside each other. Different variations of these beasts existed, such as vampires, werewolves, incubi, succubi, ghosts, wendigos, and so many more. It was like this for the longest time. During that time, scientists produced two prototype serums; one vaccine that would keep the humans immune from the deadly infections and virus of the beasts, and a serum to help humans unlock the hidden powers in their brains, gaining super-human abilities. The government had over 200,000 human participants. It was a monumental success for about 20 days... Until the of autumn that year. The vaccine had failed to fully work, as the human participants began to turn into beasts themselves. Unable to fully control themselves, they lashed out and terrorized Athánatos, and created a bloody massacre. The ones already born as beasts fought alongside and rebelled, the majority of them saying they will one day take control of the city, and eventually, the world. The humans, with their new super-human abilities, as well as some good beasts, fought for peace and power. They fought for almost 5 years straight, and the war spread all throughout the world, until both sides gave up. They regretted diminishing their races, and begin reconstruction of their city and races. Now in present times in Athánatos, reconstruction is complete. The city still combines beasts and super-humans, now know as Espers. However, the bias government gives full privacy to the Espers, while the beasts are heavily criticized, monitored, and segregated. The whole government is filled with corruption and lies. At the moment, the city is undergoing a large rebellion because of a string of murders that occurred. All of the murders involve the victims hearts torn out, and having black fangs lodged in their collarbones. Some rebels are on opposing sides, and some don't want to get involved at all. Who caused the murders, and could the rebellion fix or destroy the city? How will the government reacts. It was dark, and the first quarter moon was hidden behind the grey clouds. Typical of a spring night in the city of Athánatos; an aged place cut off from the rest of the world due to its wide variety of citizens. However, what wasn't typical was the heavy rain that poured down. Thick and harsh where the drops that hit the many objects in the city. It hit the roofs of homes, stores, shops, restaurants, churches, elementary schools, high schools, and the university. The rain looked like it wouldn't stop. Most people stayed inside, or some relished to see the rare showers. So, there were not a lot of people out. Another reason folks weren't out was because of a terrible riot that occurred the afternoon before, leaving the majority of the city in shambles. The troublemakers were, of course, irritated esper and beast youth who rebelled over the lack of control and concern in a reoccurring string of murders. Murders came often, but not at the rate it was happening lately. So far, there are a total of five murders in twenty-four hours, and all of the victims ended up with the same fate. Their hearts were torn straight out of there chests, their eyes were missing, and they all had black canine-like fangs lodged in their collarbones. Police officials as well as government officials teamed up to help clean the mess from the riot as well as send the youth home. Some of them even went to investigate the possible cause of the murders. However, there was one youth that wasn't home just yet. A shy sonokinetic who goes by 'Joel'. He didn't participate in the riot. He just got caught in its crossfire. He was inside the infamous place known as, "The Chrysanthemum Sisters", A local fortune-telling house. The Chrysanthemum Sisters themselves were two aging women who's personalities still remained young. They went by Madame Linda, the younger, and Madame Cadence, the older. They are known for being spunky, sarcastic, and full of heart. They both possessed the ability of precognition, and use it to help others see hints of their fate. Right now, Linda was using the age-old method of tasseography, also known as tea leaf reading. "Hmm...", Linda hummed, staring into Joel's tea cup. "Oh, my..." "W-What? What is it ma'am?", Joel asked rather frantically. "Well, from these patterns, they tell me that... you should be wary of those you love, and that your city is going to become more dangerous in the days that come.", Linda said, looking at Joel in concern. The younger man just flashed her a look of utter fear, groaning in disappointment. He know it was something bad. "Oh, stop it, Linda!" Cadence cried before swiping the tea cup of of her sister's hand. "Stop scaring the child!" She promptly throw the tea cup over her shoulder in frustration. Joel sighed, slouching in his chair. "Well,", Joel started. "What else should I do?" "Never go out during a new or full moon.~", Linda replied. "Report anything you see to the police or detectives.", Cadence added. He would have gone back to Ellen's house, but that was just a bit too far away. This fortune-telling house wasn't all that far from the dorms of the university, so Joel figured he could get home safely enough. He had a silver crucifix in his pocket just in case, because it is speculated the murders were done by black dogs or vampires. Once outside the house, Joel quickly opened up his umbrella and held it over his head. "Danger? How could things possibly get any worse?" He muttered to himself as he started to walk. "Heh. Jeez...
