  1. Gilbert Gottfried a comedian and actor known for his crude humor, political incorrectness and shrill voice and providing the voice of Iago the Parrot from Disney's 1992 animated film Aladdin and in the Kingdom Hearts games, has passed away today following a battle of a long illness at the age of 67. His publicist told the Washington Post that he died of myotonic dystrophy type 2, a form of muscular dystrophy. He was born in Brooklyn, N.Y., on Feb. 28, 1955, and started performing stand-up comedy at just 15. Gottfried had a short, 12-episode stint on “Saturday Night Live” during Season 6 in 1980, and he reunited with his “SNL” colleague Eddie Murphy on “Beverly Hills Cop II". In the ’90s, Gottfried landed roles in films like the “Problem Child” movies, “Highway to Hell” and “Looks Who’s Talking Too,” before landing his most recognizable voice role as Iago the parrot in Disney's 1992 film, Aladdin and reprised the role as Iago in various media including the direct-to-video sequels The Return of Jafar and Aladdin and the King of Thieves, Aladdin the Animated Series, House Of Mouse, Disney Park attractions and the Kingdom Hearts series of games including Kingdom Hearts, Kingdom Hearts II, Kingdom Hearts Re: Chain of Memories and the Kingdom Hearts Re: Coded cutscenes from the Kingdom Hearts HD II.5 ReMix collection. His other major voice roles included Digit from the PBS Kids series Cyberchase, Kraang Subprime in the 2012 Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles series, Mr. Mxyzptlk in Superman: The Animated Series and Justice League Action, Dr. Bender and his son Wendell in The Fairly OddParents and was the former voice of the Aflace Duck in commercials for the insurance company until 2011. Gottfried is survived by his wife, Dara Kravitz, and two children, Lily and Max. Rest in peace Gilbert Gottfried and thank you for providing the voice of Everyone's favorite loud mouth Parrot.
  2. An unexpected but welcome surprise struck Kingdom Hearts fans' timeline yesterday as voice actor Erika Harlacher released a short musical puppet show based on our favourite video game franchise Kingdom Hearts. The Disney x Square Enix collaboration is no stranger to adaptations outside the video game world with it being adapted into novels, a Manga series, and at one point it was almost made into a cartoon series. Now, although not official, it has been adapted into a musical puppet show. Who could see that one coming? The short was created by longtime voice actor Erika Harlacher. Harlacher is most known for voicing Ann in Persona 5. But she has also provided her voice to well over a hundred different projects, including additional voices in several Square Enix titles like Final Fantasy VII Remake, NEO: The World Ends with You, and of course Kingdom Hearts III. The short, titled Puppet Kingdom: Musical Hearts was published on both Youtube and Twitter, and retells the first chapter of the original Kingdom Hearts game where Sora first meets Donald and Goofy in Traverse Town. The song is titled The Trio Song, and according to Harlacher she has 5 more songs already written that she may publish later assuming Disney lawyers don't put a stop to it first. Harlacher, who herself is an avid fan of the Kingdom Hearts series, states that she's been on and off working on this project for a year and a half. With the project being so well made, it has received praise from other known members of the community and fellow voice actors. Including a shoutout from Goofy's official voice actor for 30+ years, Bill Farmer. If you're a fan of Kingdom Hearts, or just appreciate great puppet artistry, we urge you to check out the project! With enough support, maybe we'll see more of it! View full article

  4. 5. This past weekend at D23 Expo, we had a bit of fun relating to Kingdom Hearts despite the franchise not having its own panel session. At the con, Mickey (Bret Iwan), Donald (Tony Anselmo) and Goofy (Bill Farmer) briefly joked about wearing their Kingdom Hearts costumes to autograph sessions in their group monologue, which was met with appraise from fans of the series. But the Disney trio weren’t the only ones to share in the magic. Corey Burton, the voice of Yen Sid, notably spoke “may your heart be your guiding key,” a quote that has become synonymous with the series. While the full panel has been uploaded, @Ligero_miquel on Twitter edited together the footage of both clips. Did you happen to attend D23 this year? Tell us all about it, or what you thought of the clips.

  7. Welp, we tried but what can I say..Gandalfnort the White is tempting. But then there’s Roy Conli, the true seeker.
  8. So, I was re-watching the latest 2.8 trailer, and one thing caught my attention most out of the entire video: Luxu's voice. As soon as I heard it, I immediately knew I had heard it before, but it took me a few moments to figure it out. Now, it could always be just a huge coincidence, but my mind went to Young Eraqus in the KH3 E3 2015 trailer. So, I searched up the trailer and watched it, listening carefully. I replayed both clips from 2.8 and III and have come to the decision that the voices sound identical. So, as I said, it could all be just a coincidence, but here me out on what I have started to piece together. So, when I came to the conclusion that the two voices were the same, I started to think about the conversation Eraqus and Xehanort have while they play chess: Xehanort: "Have you heard of the ancient Keyblade War?" Eraqus: "Yeah, the MASTERS favorite story." (Now, he could be talking about his current master, but I feel like there was a deeper meaning behind him saying that). Xehanort: "So...you KNOW the Lost Masters? They're the one's who started the Keyblade War." (It almost seems like Xehanort is trying to get Eraqus to slip up and admit a potential truth. Assuming my theory would be correct). Eraqus: "Never heard of 'em." (It sounds like Eraqus is trying to play it off here, but you can tell right away that he is lying). Xehanort: "You can drop the FACADE." (It's clear that Xehanort knows something through this statement). Now, of course, Eraqus and Xehanort could have learned about the Keyblade War and the Lost Masters through there master and through ancient texts and such, but I have to wonder: Was Eraqus actually there? The voice similarity aside, it makes sense to me how he could be Luxu for this reason: Eraqus was always very adamant about making sure that darkness was completely obliterated. Now, what could have made him feel so strongly about darkness and what it does to people's hearts? Could he have seen something drastic happen in his past? Could he have witnessed the Keyblade War and what darkness did to the hearts of the people of Daybreak Town? He says at the end of the KHIII trailer (to Xehanort): "Who's to say I can't change it? And maybe light will prevail. There is more to light than meets the eye. You might be surprised." Now, why would he say something like that? How would he know so much about light? Could he have seen Kingdom Hearts emerging at the Keyblade Graveyard? Could it have been a moment like when Sora experiences the light of Kingdom Hearts at the end of the first game? And to add on top of that, Luxu (despite not becoming a foreteller), is probably a Keyblade Master. He has been seen with the Keyblade that Xehanort will one day possess. How did it get to where Eraqus and Xehanort are? Could it have been their masters? Or did Eraqus bring it into the future with him after he inherited it from his true Master? Luxu said that his job was to watch the events of the war unfold and then traverse into the future. So, could he have acquired a new identity and taken up a new apprenticeship in that future? Anyhow, i'm still brewing over my thoughts and ideas, so this is in no way a complete theory, but I thought I would toss it out there anyway. What are your guys' thoughts about this possibility? Edit: Another thing I have noticed is that the zipper on Luxu's coat has the same symbol that is seen on Eraqus's armor (As well as Aqua/Terra/Ven's).
  9. Hey guys, I just want to share my Explorers Wanted audition for BioWare's contest. Whether I win or not, I had a fun time recording (even if my laptop didn't want to cooperate at times).
