Towards the end of every year, Japanese video game websites 4Gamer and Famitsu publish comments by personalities from the video game industry in regards to the new year and what they are looking forward to. This year, Kingdom Hearts III director Tetsuya Nomura, brand manager Shinji Hashimoto, and composer Yoko Shimomura, along with Kingdom Hearts battle system planner Yosuke Shiokawa, participated in the end-of-year questionnaires. 3. So since it's quiet on the KH3 news front, I thought I'd write a little post about some of the returning music in KH3 Obviously we can expect plenty of new themes from Yoko Shimomura, (For example the toy story world & battle themes), but I've noticed a few old or remixed music tracks in the trailers: - Hand in Hand (Attraction Flow theme) - An Adventure in Atlantica (Ariel summon) - The Deep End (Rock Titan boss) - Shrouding Dark Cloud (Gigas Mech battle) - Hunter of the Dark (Heartless Doll fight) - Some form of Fate of the Unknown/Aqua's theme (Aqua fight) I'm sure we can expect other familiar tunes, like Destati and of course, Dearly Beloved. Personally I'm hoping for a variant of 'Another Side' like this (@ 40 seconds) https://youtu.be/yxF0h156sDk Also heard in 'The 13th Dilemma' and 'Showdown at Hollow Bastion' Anyone else have some thoughts on what they think/would like to see return music-wise?
  4. This is a question for all of those on here who stumble upon this topic, and have also had the pleasure of playing the KH3 Demo, be it at one of the recent conventions or the Premiere Event, How did Dearly Beloved sound like? The reason I ask is because I watched HMK's demo impressions on Youtube, and he made a comment on how good the Dearly Beloved sounded. So I ask you all, for those who have maybe listened to it and bothered to take it in: how did it sound like? Was it an old version, or the brand new one meant for KHIII? What was the feeling that you got for it. An example would be the 358/2 Days version emitting a hint of tragedy, whilst KH1's depicted the starting of a new journey, KH2's being the halfway point of that journey, and BBS's theme seeming to allude to awakening. Those are my impressions from listening to those versions of Dearly Beloved. So what are the impressions you get from the KHIII demo version of Dearly Beloved?
  5. Hey folks! So this is going to be a longish post regarding the music of BOTH KH and moreso KH3. So first thing is about the KH 2018 orchestra world tour going on currently. I've been hearing about a beautiful arrangement for Oath being performed at the current run of the tour...And although I have found live videos, I am dying to hear a real deal recorded version..So I'm curious if anyone knows if they are planning on doing a "second breath" CD or something?? I would love for it to also feature some stuff I was really sad that didn't make it onto the first soundtrack (Ventus' theme, Sanctuary/Passion, Organization 13 theme, 100 Acre Wood, Working Together, Mysterious Tower theme, One Winged Angel - maybe melding both the classic version and the Advent Children metal version?, etc. - feel free to chime in with any suggestions you may have too!!). Now the second thing was regarding Nomura's comments about FF characters being in KH3....Since a majority of them are FF7 characters as it's the most popular entry (my favorite too) - I would personally LOVE to hear Aerith's theme in KH3. If nothing else just to add onto the whirlpool of emotions already attached at the hip to KH3 (plus, can you imagine if it was also a beautifully composed, UPDATED piece for this day and age?? Ugh the feels.) But would any one else enjoy that? Thirdly, the anticipated would be "new" version of the iconic Simple and Clean...What would you guys and gals like to see happen for that? Personally I'm low-key expecting either a dubstep or rap version of it lmao (75% kidding)...Honestly I'd be fine with an even more slowed down version like that of Hikari but with singing.... And lastly - While on the subject, how would you like the final fight with Xehanort to be handled musically? I have this image in my head (which I'll go into at a later date in a video) of it being a very intense polarizing (and prolly long) fight with a darker more intense Hikari playing with like choral singing in the back (like that of the aforementioned One Winged Angel)? TL;DR - 4 things. 1 - Do you think we'll receive a second KH orchestra tour soundtrack (esp with some KH3 music and new additions from past entries)? Has there been any talk of that? I wanna hear this orchestrated Oath. 2 - Would anyone else besides yours enjoy hearing an updated version of Aerith's theme (FF7) somehow in KH3? 3 - If there is a new one...What do you anticipate the "new" version of Simple and Clean will sound like? 4 - Musically, how do you envision the final confrontation with Xehanort? I picture a more darker version of S&C with choral background singers. Feel free to let me.know what y'all think!! Let's get some good discussions going!!

    KHUx Music Soundtrack

Hello KH13 Community, I really wonder if we will have an official OST at least for "KHux" (Union [Cross]... or not I know that most of the music ingame is recycled from KH saga and that only a few have been composed by Yoko for this one.. But have you heard the entire soundtrack some tracks have really cool variations. It's so sad to only have youtube lossy compression rips.. I've put a link, if you are interested Apprehension is my favourite one.. with Case of Foretellers. I really hope it would do it.. -KHReconnect-

  10. From Siliconera "Atlus teased a new Radiant Historia game earlier tonight, and this week’s issue of Famitsu magazine reveals it as Radiant Historia: Perfect Chronology, a full remake of the original game with new scenario on 3DS. No furhter information was revealed other than Perfect Chronology being a full remake of the Nintendo DS RPG on 3DS. Additional details including a game overview and new elements for the remake will be revealed in the magazine. Radiant Historia: Perfect Chronology releases in Japan on June 29, 2017 for Nintendo 3DS." ... if this doesn't interest you about the game, I'll tell you what will, Yoko Shimomura! She's composed the entire soundtrack for the game. Go support this remake once it releases! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ICvr93Bz1S4

    Kingdom Hearts 3 Synphony

A more classical and symphonic version of my "Keyblade Master" theme for Kingdom Hearts 3. I wanted to add more gravity to the piece. Less of a midi sound and more real of a sound like from 1.5 + 2.5. I also borrowed themes from my other KH pieces, like xehanorts theme and incorporated it into this new piece. Enjoy! If you're a fan of my compositions and arrangements, then please give a thumbs up and subscribe on YT for more!
  12. So, I think we can all agree here that the OST's of Kingdom Hearts as a whole is at least good right? Among these tracks there are character themes; music tracks that represent the characters with the same name and manifests them into music. So I want to ask you guys, which is your favourite and why?
  13. Hey everyone. The Symphonic Fantasies concert in London is coming up on the 6th of October (3 weeks today!). It will have orchestrated music from Square Enix titles such as Kingdom Hearts, Final Fantasy, Secret of Mana and Chrono Trigger/Chrono Cross. Definitely worth getting a ticket to see if you live in the UK! Click here for available tickets and prices! Anyway, I writing to say as well as this concert there will also be a pre-conert talk with Yoko Shimomura; the brilliant composer behind the majority of the Kingdom Hearts soundtrack and the upcoming Final Fantasy XV! She will be discussing her influences through the years as well as answer some of the audience’s questions. As I will be attending the concert and this pre-talk, I’m writing here to get some suggestions/ideas of questions to ask Yoko Shimomura, if I can get the opportunity to! I know there are obvious questions that relate to a certain upcoming title (don’t even need to mention it here on KH13!), but I’m looking for good questions about her career and work she’s done already. If a question is subtle and not too obvious about a future title (…) I could maybe use that. Anyway message your ideas and thoughts below!
  14. https://soundcloud.com/kinode/vector-to-the-heavens-musique-pour-la-tristesse-de-xion After almost 4 months of working on this arrangement, and having just 3 days to learn the Cello part, me and my friends played it last night! I was very impressed with the support from the audience (we had a standing ovation!) and was pleasantly surprised that the school actually recorded the audio in high quality. So here's the recording, hope you guys enjoy it!
  15. The 2016 Classic FM Hall of Fame is reaching the end and once again Yoko Shimomura's amazing work in Kingdom Hearts has reached 31st place with 'March Caprice for Piano and Orchestra' from the first Kingdom Hearts game! Last year, the main theme, or Hikari 光 (Simple and Clean) Orchestral Instrumental Version, ranked at 30th place, so this year it did go down by one place but it is still amazing that Kingdom Hearts managed to stay so high in the rankings! 'The Other Promise' was also available to vote for, but unfortunately didn't make it into the final 300. There are a few other compositions though that did make it in the top 300 and also featured in Kingdom Hearts series: 'He's a Pirate' ranked at 264th (featured in Kingdom Hearts II) 'A Night on the Bare Mountain' ranked at 223rd (featured in Kingdom Hearts I & Dream Drop Distance) 'Nutcracker' ranked 61st (featured in Dream Drop Distance) 'Symphony No.6 in F major Op.68' ranked at 8th (featured in Dream Drop Distance) What do you think of Kingdom Hearts' place in the top 300? A good place for it to be or do you think it should have been better? Leave your comments below and show your appreciation for Yoko Shimomura's magnificent work throughout the franchise!
