A member of our staff, KHWaterBlock, has shared gameplay footage of the Japanese exclusive Kingdom Hearts mobile game Kingdom Hearts Coded. This game would be remade into Kingdom Hearts Re:coded for the Nintendo DS, but the original remains Japanese exclusive.

Roughly 18 minutes of Olympus Coliseum demo gameplay is showcased, with combat primarily displayed alongside interspersed dialogue.

Kingdom Hearts Coded Remake

While it seems a lot of fans didn't enjoy Coded or Days as much as the other games in the series, Re:Coded is personally my favorite. The level of customization with the stat matrix was particularly nice. It gave much more control to you over how powerful Data-Sora was, along with his enemies, and the Avatar sector made great use of the DS's multiplayer system at the time. While it didn't allow you to actually play together, it made for a good high difficulty challenge. I felt it at least deserved a remake rather than an HD Movie, which was mostly text anyways.

I think a remake could really be successful though, although I wouldn't want it to take much development time away from the next new title. Bringing it onto a modern console (Preferably Playstation and X-box although more realistically the switch) would allow for greater accessibility and more multiplayer content. The avatar sector could be expanded to be a more social online environment, think something similar to Super Mario Maker, where you can download people's floors and add them to your collection. You might even be able to connect it to your khux avatar. It could also be a good opportunity for square to follow up on Maleficent's threat of controlling the datascape, including a playable epilogue of Data Sora and Riku fending off Maleficent when she finally gets her hands on it.

Come to think of it, one of the Remind episodes in the KH3 DLC might be about Coded, maybe explaining why the darkubes look like bug blox.

This is the worst Kingdom Hearts game ever made. Even worse than Coded.

Yeah you heard that right. I wish I never would feel the need to say this about a long awaited finale for one of my favourite game series of all time, but after the finale and ending I feel I have to vent about this bullshit.

Spoiler

* The Non-disney characters look lifeless and badly animated in the Unreal engine cutscenes

* No Coliseum, Secret Bosses or side-content of any kind minus the Arcade and Bistro

* Only one non-Disney world that has a use besides one cutscene

* Keyblade graveyard is just four corridors and a save point. Twilight town doesn't even have anything interesting in it. You can't even visit the train station or the usual spot and they REMOVED. THE SKATEBOARDS.

* No second stories to worlds like in KH2. I legit thought after saving Aqua/Ven, we were going to go on missions in the Disney worlds together and see people like Ven/Axel or Riku/Aqua interact with one another, unlocking "Part 2s" in those worlds where the plot 'really begins' like in KH2. NOPE straight to Keyblade Graveyard and the bullshit that takes place thereafter.

* Worlds feel like open empty amphitheatres like DDD. Only exception to this rule was the PotCaribbean world (admittedly the highpoint of the game)

* No Final Fantasy Characters new or returning

* Last Org XIII member backstories alluded to and then firetrucking skipped (Find out in our shitty mobile game!)

* Reaction Commands removed for shitty Disney attraction rides that ruin the pace, difficulty and feel like Ads for Didneyworld

* Literal GARBAGE finale and final boss fight. Felt like a side-boss, not on the level of Dragon-Xemnas.

* ZERO time for the Guardians of Light to socialise/ have any firetrucking interaction whatsoever after saving Aqua

* Most Anti-Climatic Climax in game history

* The entire climax minus the unnecessary timewarp shit with the Final World was COMPLETELY PREDICTABLE. No actually it was completely unpredictable because of how COMPLETELY BLAND IT WAS! There was NOTHING! You just mow down the Org members, get awkward mid-battle cutscenes of them recanting their ways and that's it. There were even Org XIII members who were traitors! WHY didn't they act in the Finale then? Why is it just a royale of gimped Org XIII member fights? Then you timewarp into Xehanorts' past and stay there for all of two seconds as you blandly beat the most powerful villain canonically in the series in the blandest way possible. (For a fulfilling finale, think something like the finale of Fullmetal Alchemist (Brotherhood/manga) or something. You know what I mean)

* NO Non-Disney key blades besides Star Seeker, Kingdom Key & the reskin of Kingdom Key from the mobile trash

* Xehanorts new voice actor completely sucked

* Most of the Music was an awful mishmash of mismatching motifs(Boss theme #2 and the Scala Ad Caelum music for example, Vanitas' theme was straight up violated and is out of tune) and had a lot of broken sounding chords. Did Yoko Shimomura really compose this?

* Kairi and Axel did firetrucking nothing

* Absolutely no battle choreography in the cutscenes for the FINAL BATTLE, firetrucking BBS did it better. EDIT: They made a fully firetrucking rendered epic CG trailer for Verum Rex, a literal non-game reference to Versus XIII in the toy story world but couldn't make anything outside of janky Source Film-maker animated segments for the Final Clash between the 7 Lights and 13 Darknesses? I'm sorry What the F*&%!? Is this Disney influence?

* Chirithy needs to be Dark Firaga'd firetrucking cancer macguffin with an AIDS voice

* Maleficent and Pete didn't even firetrucking do anything

* Sora gets no crazy powers like he does in KH2. Just shitty Disney transformations & Second Form which just lets you use Sonic Blade

* Whole game feels rushed and shoddily put together

* HE DOESN'T EVEN KISS KAIRI

* Half the game was a Disney Ad, the other half was just an Ad for the next firetrucking KH game

* **Did I mention NOTHING gets explained?**

Nomura has gone full hack. After the ending I'm dead inside and feel like I've been betrayed. 13 years. It wasn't supposed to be this way.

Braig or Xigbar? (Spoilers for 2.5/Re:coded)

Okay as most of us know arleady, (and for those who don't: What are you wating for!?) A new Secret Ending was added to the HD cutscenes of Re:coded in 2.5 and there are some dissenting opinions on who one of the characters is.

This scene takes place between the end of Re:coded and the beginning of 3D, as you can see by the presence of Lea and Isa and the fact that Ienzo is an adult.
Now I want your opinions, is the person talking to Young Xehanort in this scene a time-displaced Braig from near the end of or sometime shortly after BbS or a reconstructed Xigbar after being being defeated in KH2? Some say it's Xigbar because it doesn't make sense for there to be two of the same character. Others say it's Braig because time travel. What about you?

Personally, I'm in camp Braig. Not only does he have shorter hair with no streaks but even his face is younger here than it is in KH2 and 3D. If he was reconfigured, he should still have the same amount of age on his face.

PS, Sorry if this has been postedbefore, but I don't think it's ever been a poll.

Hoorayyy a PS4 Remaster!

But what I noticed is that on every Social media description (Facebook, Youtube etc..) they talk about a ''HD remastered cinematics'' For days but they don't mention that with Re: Coded.

Could it be possible that they remake Re: Coded ?

There was a thread on this forum from some three-odd years ago that put up links to some translated works for KH novels, back before they started getting official English novels. However, only KH1 and CoM have been translated into English so far and it's unknown if they're doing any more. That being said, in that thread there was a (broken) link to a Coded translation. I've found translations for others that I want to read (I picked up a copy of CoM on my own a while back) but Coded is the only one I want that I can't find a translation for. I was hoping somebody had a working link to an unofficial translation for the Coded novel, if there is any. Google is not helping.

You know...I've been reading comments on YouTube videos and opinions on Re:coded. Everyone seems to hate it, but I honestly liked it (at least a lot more than Days). I thought the gameplay was much more solid and enjoyable. And even if the story was weak, the game more than made up for it with the minigames and dungeon-like "breach" sequences.

That's why I made this thread: if you hate Re:coded, why? Also, if you like Re:coded, you could say why as well. I'm curious.

A thought popped into my head whilst re-watching Re: Coded

I had a small epiphany when re-watching Re: Coded; Does Sora now know of the existence of Ventus, Terra, Aqua and Xion? We already know that in KHII, he met Roxas and Roxas returned to him. And in KH3D, he knows of the existence of Lea now.

So I was wondering, does Sora (And Riku to an extent), know about the existence of Terra, Aqua, Ventus and Xion, as he met them in 3D? If Sora's memories of hurt are truly coming back to him, he must know about at least Ventus, Terra and Aqua. Unless that information has only been disclosed to Riku since he is now Master Riku, much like how only Aqua was able to hold key information told by Eraqus.

Just a quick thought I had, what do you guys think?

I assumed some people might've done this, but it's a really tough challenge to complete without a friend, buddy, or even family member, so I couldn't expect too many people to have done so.

Anyways, I have done so. At first, (Couple of years ago) I had absolutely no skill against Data-Data-Roxas, so I stopped playing for a while. Then, I eventually came back to it, and I got 29 of the Trophies with the skill I had now. And thanks to my bro having Re:coded as well, I was able to get to 100 floors and snag that final Avatar piece. (Y'know, King Mickey's Ears? Some reward that was.) So then, I got the last Trophy Chip. It felt, good. For being one of the longest challenges to overcome, it felt pretty worth it.

So how about you guys? Has anyone else gotten all 30 Trophy Chips as well?
