Our Little Antics (1v1 with WakingDawn)

Posted

The beaming sun radiated strongly during a hot summer day in the outskirts of town. Stranded on a small island a small way from the mainland was two kittens. They were twins from the same litter- the only ones from the litter. They were abandoned- the only thing they had was each other.

Roxas was laying down next to a tree, bathing as much as he could in the shade. He was curled up next to his brother, alert and ready to strike at anything that was a threat. He shivered- the kitten was starving. He wasn't very good at hunting due to his small amount of time in the world and he gave most of his food to his brother so that he may eat.

"How are you feeling...?" Roxas lazily asked with a meow to his brother, trying his best to stay awake. He was pretty tired and all he wanted was a nice serving of milk.

Ventus was laying down, as he normally did, as if he was thinking to himself again. For a kitty, he did have a clear mind on things. Ventus looked at Roxas but only his eyes moved over to Roxas. "The same. How and why did things come to this? What did we do wrong to deserve being on this small island? And why is it we never leave?" Ventus asked his twin while meowing to the human ear. Ventus had been thinking about their lives on this island. To be honest, he didn't know why they were to suffer on this island and why it was that they didn't think of something to get off the island. Like there has to be something they could do to end this suffering?

Roxas stood silent, at that point not knowing what to say to Ventus anymore. He himself didn't understand it, why the world was so cruel to them. They didn't do anything wrong, they weren't even alive much long ago. One day their mother just left, took the rest of the kittens with her. Roxas opted to stay behind to look after Ventus. Ventus didn't do anything wrong. It wasn't fair that he had to be alone in this world.

"I don't know, Ventus... I don't know." Roxas uttered softly, nuzzling his head into his brother. "It's too dangerous out there, but... there's no more food."

Ventus finally got up, very weakly at that point too, and looked at his brother. "I hate to say, but if we have no food, we can not live. Brother, we need to find food, enough for both of us." Ventus said as he tried to stand tall. He was becoming so weak from being abandoned that it was hard for him to move sometimes. However, he knew that if the two of them didn't fine food, they would both starve to death. Ventus looked around the island, and suddenly noticed something in the middle of the water. It looked like a boat, but Ventus didn't really know what a boat even was. "Hey, Roxas, look over there in the water. There's something floating in it. Let's go take a look." Ventus said as he then walked fastly, he still couldn't run at this point in time, and went to the water. However, he was keeping his eyes glued to the boat so hard that he wasn't really looking where he was going and was all of a sudden in the water itself.

Roxas tried to chase after Ventus, although he stumbled over a few times due to his tiny paws. As much as he loved Ventus, his brother was frustrating sometimes.

"Wait- Ven!" He tipped over shaking his head off of some dirt. He went right into the water, trying to support Ventus as best as he could.

"Are you crazy!? We barely have any energy to swim, you could drown!" He trailed off however in his words due to some sounds coming off of the boat. It was some kind of voice, but he didn't understand it. It turned right to the boat.

Vanitas rolled his eyes as he sat in the boat, utterly aggravated at the fact that he was dragged along in this trip. Sporting a pair of sunglasses, he leaned back and tried his best to relax.

"When are we even going home? This is dumb."

The father sighed and looked over to his son as he got ready his fishing pole for the water.

"Be quiet, boy. This here is a lovely father son fishing trip. The least you could do is look like you're doing something." He plced some turkey on the hook and tossed it into the water.

Roxas' eyes widened and his mouth watered. "...Food?"

Sora was on the same boat ride, but was looking like he was have a fun time. He was wearing sunglasses as well, and was wearing an outfit that looked like his BBS outfit but since he was a little older it was bigger in size. Sora looked at his brother, "Oh come now, Van, Isn't it just nice to be outside on a beautiful day and being together?" Sora asked Vanitas with a smile. Sora could be the total opposite of his brother sometimes, which mean they didn't always see eye to eye. But Sora enjoyed every minute that he got to be with his family, and so he was having fun just being together on this day.

Ventus looked at the food on the line too. Ventus knew that Roxas and himself needed to get over there, somehow. It was true that they would probably drown from being weak, but they were already in the water, and they needed that food. "Brother, look, we need that food. It's not that far from us now. Let's try to get closer." Ventus meowed at his brother and started trying to swim closer to the food.

Roxas couldn't help but sigh as he heard his stomach growling loud and clear. Approaching this mysterious entity was dangerous, but he was so desperate for food Roxas would absolutely do anything. He began to swim ahead of Ventus, looking back from time to time to make sure he was okay.

"I'll go first. If anything happens to me swim back to shore and run."

Meanwhile Vanitas rolled his eyes and leaned back in his seat. With a cold bottle of soda at hand, he began to drink.

"No." He uttered bluntly, rolling his eyes yet again through his sunglasss. "I'd rather be home with mom than at this bullshit trip."

"Hey, watch your language." The father said with a sigh, pulling his line a bit closer. "Don't worry Sora, we'll show him. We'll catch the biggest fish in the world." He said with a chuckle. There was something wrong however, for out of the corner of his eye he saw two orange dots swimming towards him. He leaned forward to make out what it was.

"Sora- come look at this! I think those are.... those are kittens!
