Forever Starts Now (1x1 RP with Forever Love)

Posted

A friend and I have been doing a RP for a while now, and it has been scattered across several threads on two different sites. It started as a group story (about fast food of all things xP) but then it transformed into something else entirely.

We request that nobody join in this RP or post anything on this thread; if you wanna say how awesome we are, message us some other way. :)

Um...You're free to read this for fun if you want to, but this thread has major Birth By Sleep spoilers. And since we've been doing this for a while, we will probably refer to things we've done in the past and you will have no idea what we're talking about. So if you want to save yourself from confusion, then you probably wanna stay away. If not, hey, whatever.

The plot was discussed and posted on another website, but here's a quick summary of the whole thing: It's the return of Xehanort.

Characters:

Peanut: Sora, Namine, Leon, Aerith, King Mickey, Terra, Ventus, Xehanort, etc.

Forever Love: Riku, Kairi, Roxas, Yuffie, Aqua, Vanitus, Tron, etc.

I believe I've said everything that needs to be said...Forever Love, let's get this show on the road, eh? :)

Light quickly wiped away her disgust when the waitress left, not that the girl even looked over at her to take the hint her flirting wasn't wanted here. She looked back to Riku but then back to the bread as she used her free hand to steal a roll. "That's one," she said with a crooked smile. She just stole one of the two rolls that she promised. And one more strike for the waitress. If she ticks me off too much, I'm calling her out.
Riku shook his head, though he did squeeze Lightning's hand. "Sneaky," he acknowledged with a small smirk. He should have expected that, but he didn't. For some reason, he was really unprepared and ignorant today. It was odd.

Lightning set down the stolen roll and reached forward for another, realizing that the waitress really did give them a few more than necessary. "That's two," she said, smirking at Riku and lightly tossing the roll in her hand. Two strikes for the waitress because of these rolls. She's on a roll. Ha. Roll. That's funny... And now that the sarcasm was starting, she knew she was getting ticked again.
Riku lifted his free hand and grabbed the basket, pulling it closer to him. "Enough. These are mine," he said, his eyes on Light now. He didn't want any of his rolls being taken. He was still growing, after all. He wasn't even nineteen yet.

"I know, I know. You're a growing boy," Light said with a smirk, reaching for some of the butter packets that sat in a small dish in the middle of the table. "Don't worry; I said I would only steal two. Mission accomplished." At least that waitress made sure the rolls were fresh and hot. And the food should be extra delicious if she has a say in it...Well, Riku's food, anyway. Mine might be poisoned.
"Any other missions I should know about?" Riku asked, taking his hand off the basket to sit on the tablecloth. He was curious, especially since Lightning was quite ambitious. She knew what she wanted out of life, and how to get it. Sometimes.

Survive the night without losing my temper because of the waitress? Light thought silently, though she kept that mission to herself. She took her hand away from Riku's and started buttering her roll. "Nah," she said, shaking her head faintly to Riku's question. She didn't have much going on in her life, not since everything that happened in the Realm of Darkness. Life was boring again.
"Not even before your next birthday? Or Christmas?" Riku asked, keeping the conversation going as he brought his hand back to sit in front of him alongside the other. It had been a while since he first met Lightning, nearly a year. Her birthday had to be around the corner, right? How could he have forgotten?

"Christmas is a ways off, don't you think?" Lightning asked with an arched brow. She avoided talking about the other occasion, since she hated celebrating those. That was why she hadn't celebrated her birthday when it rolled around this year. Even Serah, who wanted to make this year special for Lightning, realized that even mentioning her birthday to her was a bad idea. After last year, the mention of a birthday only brought back painful memories that were better left forgotten.
Riku shrugged. "It means you still have time to do whatever you want before then," he said, defending his idea. But then he realized she didn't say anything about her birthday, which was when exactly? "What about your birthday? When's that?" Light had never told him before, so he was curious.

Light glanced away, finishing buttering her roll as she put down the knife. "Four days ago," she said, picking up the roll and taking a big bite out of it. Her birthday had been four days ago, and she hadn't told anybody about it. Ven probably didn't remember when her birthday was, since a lot of his childhood was forgotten because of Xehanort. That was fine with her, because she knew he would make a big deal out of her birthday. He wouldn't understand.
Riku blinked, but then his eyebrows furrowed. "What?" he asked in surprise, unable to help himself. Four days ago? He had been on the Islands, working that day. Why hadn't Lightning said anything? He would have been with her...

Lightning finished chewing the fluffy bread quicker than she expected, which meant she had to give Riku a response more quickly. "No big deal," she said. "You should really try the bread--It's terrific." She lifted it to her mouth again and took another bite of it to prove her point, glancing away from Riku naturally as she chewed. She hoped he didn't pursue this too much...
"Forget about the bread," Riku said with a shake of his head, a frown on his face. "Why didn't you say anything about your birthday, Light?" He would have been with her to celebrate, even if it was something small. Ven would have been there. Birthdays weren't meant to be spent alone.

Lightning shrugged, chewing longer this time to try and come up with an answer. But there wasn't a good one to give here, not one that wouldn't keep Riku from asking deeper questions. So, her shrug was the best answer that she could give right now.
Riku lifted a hand to his head, shielding his eyes as he closed them. "Lightning...you know I would have been with you that day if you told me. You didn't have to be by yourself," he said softly, though he was slightly aggravated...and disappointed. He didn't understand why she hadn't said anything. He loved her... Of course he would want to be with her to celebrate her birthday.

"I didn't have a problem with it," Lightning responded softly, referring to being alone. That's what I do. She set down the half a roll she had left and reached for her glass, taking a drink of water. It gave her time to reflect on the whole "l'Cie thing", and even if it wasn't pleasant, it needed to be done. And Serah, realizing it was an anniversary, just made herself available for Lightning. She didn't take her sister up on that, but that didn't mean she didn't appreciate Serah giving her space but still showing she was forgiven for her mistakes.
Riku fought the urge to swear, not liking that kind of response. But he kept his mouth shut, his position staying the same. What could he say to that? He couldn't say that it didn't matter what she wanted, because that was one of the things that mattered most. Especially to him. But...he felt a little hurt that he wasn't at least told when her birthday was.

"...Food's coming," Lightning said, moving her rolls to the side as she noticed their waitress coming to the table with their meals. She had to admit, that was really fast. It had just been a few minutes ago that they got their rolls. But she wouldn't complain, because it would at least momentarily break the tension. After that, Light would have to find another way to calm Riku down and make him smile again.

Riku released a breath and sat back in his chair, his eyes going to Ella when she showed up, much like Lightning said. She set Lightning's plate down first, along with her salad and garlic bread. Ella then gave him his order of lasagna. "Thanks."

Ella looked from Riku to Lightning and then back. "Enjoy your meal," she said with a small smile and nod, taking a step back and grabbing her tray before departing. He looks upset. I wonder if there's any way I can cheer him up.

Lightning didn't touch her food, seeing her boyfriend's expression. "Riku..." she said with a sigh. She ignored Ella subtly studying Riku and focused on him, since he looked upset. You just don't understand. And as long as I have a say in it, you won't. I'm sorry. "...Can you just trust me when I say I had my reasons for not telling you?" She wanted to be alone on that day, the anniversary of the day she basically sentenced her sister to death by not believing that she was a l'Cie.
Riku sighed, running a hand through his silver hair. "...For now, I guess," he said, lifting his eyes from his food to Lightning. "Can you at least tell me later?" He didn't want this to be kept a secret for too long; he wanted to at least know what happened to cause her to skip out on telling him it was her birthday, if there was even something to cause that decision.

"...We'll see," Lightning said, picking up a fork and twirling her spaghetti around it. And by that, I mean "no, never". She couldn't tell him...she was still getting over it herself. She was sorry she had to keep him in the dark, but this was something she didn't want him knowing about. He tried keeping her out of his dark past before, and now she was trying to keep him out of hers.
Riku looked at Lightning for another few seconds before he decided he couldn't let his food get cold. He picked up his own fork and began to eat, though it was a silent meal. He had a feeling Lightning was lost in her own thoughts, just as he was. Of all the days to exclude him from her life, she chose her birthday...

C'mon, don't be like that, Lightning thought a minute or two into the meal, realizing Riku was still upset. "...How's the lasagna?" she asked after eating some spaghetti, lifting her gaze to Riku. It was a lame question, but at least it broke the silence. They had actually been having fun before he brought that up...
