Forever Starts Now (1x1 RP with Forever Love)

Posted

A friend and I have been doing a RP for a while now, and it has been scattered across several threads on two different sites. It started as a group story (about fast food of all things xP) but then it transformed into something else entirely.

We request that nobody join in this RP or post anything on this thread; if you wanna say how awesome we are, message us some other way. :)

Um...You're free to read this for fun if you want to, but this thread has major Birth By Sleep spoilers. And since we've been doing this for a while, we will probably refer to things we've done in the past and you will have no idea what we're talking about. So if you want to save yourself from confusion, then you probably wanna stay away. If not, hey, whatever.

The plot was discussed and posted on another website, but here's a quick summary of the whole thing: It's the return of Xehanort.

Characters:

Peanut: Sora, Namine, Leon, Aerith, King Mickey, Terra, Ventus, Xehanort, etc.

Forever Love: Riku, Kairi, Roxas, Yuffie, Aqua, Vanitus, Tron, etc.

I believe I've said everything that needs to be said...Forever Love, let's get this show on the road, eh? :)

"Uh-uh," the girl replied, shaking her head. She didn't want to be turned upside down.

"Okay, then what do you want to do?" Riku asked gently, knowing that since this girl was only four years-old, he couldn't be anything but sincere. She looked innocent, and the last thing he wanted was for that to leave the little girl.

The girl shrugged. "I dunno."

Riku's small smirk remained as he glanced down at the other kids, all of them looking up at him expectantly while some still squealed and played around. "Okay, how about this?" He turned the girl in his grasp and put her on his shoulders, hearing her laugh as he kept a hold of her hands. She gripped his thumbs tightly, but he wasn't about to let go of her. He knew better than that.

Lightning couldn't help but smile softly at how Riku was also gentle with kids, seeing how he used discernment in whether or not to turn that girl upside down. He was different than she expected once again--full of surprises. She looked down and hummed shortly in surprise when a little girl came over and set a hand on one of her legs, a thumb in her mouth as she sucked on it. Cute.
Kairi pushed herself up from the floor, the little girl she was with done with the blocks for now and instead running over to Riku. The young woman chuckled to herself when the little girl on Riku's shoulders accidentally pulled on his hair and he told her to "take it easy". She walked over to her husband-to-be instead, wrapping an arm around his lower back once she was close enough and leaning into him. This was great; she was with her best friends again, and they were all showing their true colors. And the kids loved them. That was definitely important for the workday.

Sora looked over at Kairi and smiled softly at her, the brunet leaned over and giving her a small kiss on her red hair. He wrapped an arm around her and watched all the kids entertain themselves, either with Riku or each other. And he thought he saw one little girl lingering by Lightning just a minute ago, too.

Light knelt down and saw the little girl's eyes widen, as if she wasn't expecting Lightning to interact with her. "Hey," she said softly to the girl that looked a little shy. The girl's eyes widened, but then Lightning noticed that she wasn't looking at her eyes, but at her necklace. Light glanced down at the lightning pendant and then held it out a little for the girl to look at. "Wanna see?" she asked her gently, voice still soft. The girl nodded and reached a hand out for it, taking a hold if it carefully.

Kairi's smile grew as she glanced up at Sora, but then her eyes went to Riku as he lowered the little girl from his shoulders. He was good with kids, which she had never doubted. When he was younger and too proud for certain things, he ignored them and acted like they annoyed him. He'd grown up a lot since then, and it clearly showed. He was great with the kids. She was sure Lightning thought something of it too.

Riku gave one of the kids a high-five, kneeling down next to them all as he listened to one of the boys ramble about how he wanted to be big and strong, as another said he wanted to fly. He couldn't help but smile weakly, knowing some of those dreams were possible, but only if they had something like the Keyblade. From experience, he didn't want that for any of these kids. He heard a little girl point out someone else was here and he automatically turned his head, his eyes widening in surprise. "Lightning?" he said under his breath. What was she doing here? What she was actually doing, however, caught him off guard. She was getting close to a little girl.

Light didn't notice that Riku realized that she was here, her gaze on the little girl that tugged on the necklace and made Lightning move a little closer. She didn't bother telling her to be careful, knowing that the little girl hadn't meant any harm with her actions. She was just so enthralled by the necklace that she was looking at it closely. "You like that, huh?" she asked the girl softly. Finally, the girl looked up at her eyes and nodded to her, unafraid of the soldier.
Riku smiled to himself when he noticed how gentle Lightning was being. Of course, he'd seen that side of her plenty of times, but never with kids. It was a sight, and he was going to enjoy it while he could. The kids around him entertained themselves, so he didn't have to do anything right away. He would just admire this scene from where he was.

Eventually, the little girl released the necklace and opened her arms to be picked up. Lightning "hmphed" softly and picked up the child, rising to her feet as she held her securely but gently. Not too shy now, are you? she thought silently, seeing the girl look up at her with bright blue eyes. You're cute; I'll give you that much.

"Who's that, Wiku?" a little boy asked, unable to pronounce his R's correctly. It made Riku smile as he turned his head to look at the little boy that still lingered by him, the other kids having run off to get snacks from Kairi.

"That's my friend," Riku said, his aqua eyes resting on the bright green of the little boy. "Her name's Lightning." He saw the boy lift an eyebrow in curiosity, which only caused him to chuckle. "You wanna meet her?"

"Uh-huh!" the little boy squealed, nodding enthusiastically.

Riku's smile grew and he nodded. He stood up and offered his hand to the boy, who took it instantly. He then started over toward the entrance to the daycare center, since Lightning was still over by the door.

Lightning moved the girl to her hip, lifting a hand and brushing the girl's light hair out of her eyes. She wasn't one for kids, especially not the younger ones who just ate, slept, and pooped. But then again, despite those things, kids found a way to work into her heart. The little girl smiled faintly at her and lifted a hand, gently running it over the hair that dangled over Lightning's shoulder.
Riku's smile turned weak as he saw the interaction between Lightning and the little girl, though he couldn't ignore the grip the little boy had on his hand. They were in the same boat, both interacting with the kids. Neither of them probably expected the other to be so soft, but here they were. "Hey," he called softly, approaching Lightning and the little girl in her arms.

Light turned at the sight of the person she had come here to see, seeing him also holding the hand of a little boy. "Hey tough guy," she said with a slight nod and a weak smirk. He was anything but tough right now, holding the hand of a child. But she never said that she wanted him to be tough all the time. This side of him was kind of...cute.

Riku smirked, releasing a small "hmph" at the name. Regardless, he looked down at the little boy holding his hand. He motioned to the woman he loved with his free hand. "This is her, buddy," he said softly.

The little boy looked up at the lady in front of him, tilting his head as he held Riku's hand. "You're Lightning?" he asked with a light voice. "That's a cool name, huh Wiku?" He looked up at the guy next to him, still holding his hand.

Riku nodded once, his eyes resting on the kid next to him as he looked back to Lightning. He was clearly fascinated by the name, not that he could blame him. It was one of a kind.

"Look, she even wears a lightning bolt!" the little girl said, speaking for the first time as she grabbed the necklace and pulled it out for the boy to see it a little bit. It was a small yank, but Light's small smirk at the little boy wasn't affected by it. The girl was just excited, and Lightning wasn't about to scold her for something so little and unimportant. It wasn't like the necklace would break.

"Cool!" the little boy squealed, his eyes widening. He heard the other kids laughing and talking behind him, but he could only stare at the necklace. It was so neat that it caught his attention immediately. If he looked up, he would have seen Riku's smile widen, but he didn't, his focus on Lightning.

"How about a closer look?" Lightning suggested, kneeling down as the little girl continued holding out the necklace for her friend to see it. She had been standing up, so he couldn't really see it well because of the height difference. The necklace wasn't anything too special in appearance, but she liked it all the same. She hardly ever took it off.
Riku's smile only remained as he released the little boy's hand, watching him take a few tiny steps forward to look at the necklace. He heard him let out a sound of awe, but Riku's eyes lingered on Lightning. She was great, even with kids. Could she get any better in his eyes?

The little girl's attention shifted to her other friends, who were eating with Kairi and Sora. "Snack time!" she squealed, moving enough that Lightning knew to gently let her go. She did just that, and the girl ran off. Thankfully she didn't try running off with the necklace; she released that before she ran off.

"Hey! Wait for me!" the little boy cried, then running off to catch up with his friend. The snacks were within his view, and he saw Kairi wave them over as they already made their way. Snacks!

"Hmph," Light hummed with a small smirk. She set a hand on her knee and pushed herself up, looking over to the young man who was lingering here instead of helping Sora and Kairi with the kids. She wasn't too surprised, since it had been a while since she saw him. A lot had happened since then, and there was a lot she had to fill him in about. ...And he wouldn't take it well.
Riku let his eyes find Lightning after he saw the kids get their snacks from Kairi, and his smile only remained. "Haven't seen you for a while," he pointed out softly. "What're you doing here?" She had to have had a reason, and he hoped it was just to see him. It had been over a week since he was with her last; they'd both been busy.

Lightning glanced over at the kids at the table, both to avoid Riku's gaze and to make sure Sora and Kairi didn't need Riku's help. "I had to talk to you about something," she said softly, her voice more serious than it had been with the kids. She wished she came just to see him, but she couldn't honestly say that was her main reason for coming today.
Riku's smile faded a little, but he shrugged. "Okay, let's go outside," he said, motioning to the door. It was best they talked away from the kids, especially since he sensed something off about Lightning's tone. Sora and Kairi could handle the kids for right now.

Lightning nodded faintly, glancing at Riku before she looked back to the door. She was already the closest to it, so she opened the door and stepped outside. She was going to be blunt and straightforward about this, because they didn't have much time to waste. Everything was changing again.
Riku followed Lightning outside, shutting the door behind him as they stepped out into the sunshine. It was nice out on the Islands, though it was getting cooler since Fall was approaching. "So, what's going on?" he asked, his eyes finding Lightning. She seemed a little off about something, but he couldn't imagine anything to be wrong.
