Forever Starts Now (1x1 RP with Forever Love)

Posted

A friend and I have been doing a RP for a while now, and it has been scattered across several threads on two different sites. It started as a group story (about fast food of all things xP) but then it transformed into something else entirely.

We request that nobody join in this RP or post anything on this thread; if you wanna say how awesome we are, message us some other way. :)

Um...You're free to read this for fun if you want to, but this thread has major Birth By Sleep spoilers. And since we've been doing this for a while, we will probably refer to things we've done in the past and you will have no idea what we're talking about. So if you want to save yourself from confusion, then you probably wanna stay away. If not, hey, whatever.

The plot was discussed and posted on another website, but here's a quick summary of the whole thing: It's the return of Xehanort.

Characters:

Peanut: Sora, Namine, Leon, Aerith, King Mickey, Terra, Ventus, Xehanort, etc.

Forever Love: Riku, Kairi, Roxas, Yuffie, Aqua, Vanitus, Tron, etc.

I believe I've said everything that needs to be said...Forever Love, let's get this show on the road, eh? :)

Lightning leaned her back against the building, arms folded over her chest as she started telling Riku what was going on. "A few days ago, I got a call from Lieutenant Amador," she started. "He had been working up a case against Carson ever since my suspension, and he came over to my house and showed me the evidence that he had that proved Carson wronged me."
"That's great, Light," Riku said, nodding a little. He didn't smile, though, given her own expression. She seemed...too serious for this conversation to be lighthearted. He expected there was more than that, so he remained silent after his comment.

"It is," Lightning agreed. "It was enough that we took Carson to court earlier today and his case against me was thoroughly investigated. And now he's under severe investigation for other things that Amador has pulled up against him. He's on suspension, for now." And Lightning...She didn't get away from this unscathed either. She was still guilty of disrespecting a commanding officer.
Serves him right, Riku thought silently, his eyebrows furrowing as he followed. "Does that mean you'll get your job back?" he asked. Now that everyone knew the truth, they would allow her access to the Corps again, right?

"Yes and no," Light said, her hands curling a little as her arms remained folded over her chest. She looked down at the ground. "I'm demoted for disrespecting a commanding officer, and I'm being reassigned to a new location. But I'm back in the Corps." But she wasn't being reassigned to a city...Which was bad news for her and Riku. He wouldn't be able to see her.
Riku didn't say anything, not knowing how to react. She was allowed back in the Guardian Corps, which was great news. But where was she being reassigned? He would make the trip, of course. Distance didn't matter to him.

"I've been reassigned to the Lindblum, an airship that travels all over Cocoon and Gran Pulse to protect people in need. When serving on the Lindblum, there are no visitors allowed. And whenever we land, it's all business." What Lightning was really saying was that while she was serving on the Lindblum, she wouldn't be able to see Riku. At all.
Riku's eyes narrowed, still looking at Lightning despite the fact that she wasn't gazing back. So...that means...he thought, not finishing. No visitors onboard, and all business upon landing. The answer Riku was seeking was obvious: he wouldn't be able to see Lightning, would he?

"I'll be on board the Lindblum at least three months," Light said without looking up. "I'll be able to call Serah every other week, if I'm lucky." She hadn't served on the Lindblum before, so she wasn't sure exactly how it would work. She was just going off of what she was told and what she knew from other soldiers who served on board the ship.
Riku grunted slightly at the duration, lowering his eyes to the ground and looking over to the side slightly. Three months? That was...too long without contact with her. If he didn't see Lightning, he was sure to go nuts. She was his other half, or so he liked to think. If she wasn't around, he wasn't the same person.

Lightning looked up at Riku, finished speaking for now. She didn't know what else to say, except..."I'm starting on the Lindblum in less than a week." If she quit the Corps now, then she was out permanently. And also, her case against Carson would have been dropped completely and he would never face justice. She had to accept her reassignment, even if it meant taking her away from Riku, Serah, and Ven.
Riku released a breath, lifting a hand to set in his hair. Less than a week wasn't good enough, either. That wasn't enough time to spend with Lightning before she left. She would be gone for three months, and Riku already knew that he would miss her like crazy while she was gone. Unless there was another way...

Lightning looked at her boyfriend, seeing how he was silent now that she was really done. She expected him to take this badly, and clearly he was, but she still wanted to know what he was thinking. "...Riku?" she said after a few moments. She had to know what was going on inside his head.
Riku held up his free hand, signaling Lightning to give him a minute to think. She sprung this on him, but she just found out herself this morning, so he couldn't be angry about the short notice. If anything, he was angry with Carson. He was taking the love of his life away from him for three months, which he wasn't happy about. At all.

Light nodded faintly in understanding, looking back down at the ground in front of her. She kept her back against the wall of the building and remained silent, mentally apologizing for springing this on Riku. She didn't like the situation either, clearly, but there was nothing either of them could do.
Riku couldn't believe this. Why did Lightning have to leave him, of all things? He doubted the Corps knew their relationship to such detail, so he didn't think they did this for punishment toward him as well. But it sure felt like it. "....There's no other way?" he asked after a moment, his hand still in his hair as he lifted his eyes to Lightning. There wasn't another option?

Lightning shook her head faintly. "None." There were absolutely no other ways to work around this problem. The Corps didn't accept recommendations for where a soldier wanted to be placed, especially not when that soldier was a part of an investigation. Either Lightning took the job or she was out of the Corps. And she didn't want the latter.
Riku's teeth ground together at the answer, but he wasn't mad at Lightning. He was upset with the situation. He didn't want Lightning to just be whisked away, where he could never see her! He loved her and wanted to be with her. How was this justice? Riku lowered his hand and took a step away from Lightning, lifting his eyes to the sky. This was really happening...

Light glanced over at Riku, though she then looked away. He wasn't taking this well...Not at all. But that was what she expected. The only thing that both of them could do was accept this. She hated that mentality, but really that was all they could do.
Riku fought his anger at the situation, forcing himself to speak calmly. "...I'll go with you," he said then, turning around to look at the woman he loved. "I'll join the Corps again, that way I can be with you." He didn't care about leaving his home as much as he cared about not being away from her.

Lightning blinked in surprise, lifting her gaze to Riku. That wasn't a solution she expected to hear, but it wasn't a solution at all. "You're not on good terms with the Corps, remember?" she reminded him. "And besides, even if you could join, you wouldn't be assigned to the Lindblum. They hand-pick everyone to go on there."
Riku opened his mouth to speak, but what he was going to say wasn't going to help anything. He was about to say that he was good enough to be on the Lindblum, but he knew it wouldn't matter. His eyebrows furrowed and he looked down at the ground, closing his mouth. Great. Just great.

Light couldn't help but move closer to Riku, who was practically seething over this. It wasn't something she liked seeing, even if she thrust this upon him. She stopped next to him and lifted a hand to his arm, her gaze down on the ground. What was there to say anymore?
"Some justice," Riku muttered under his breath, not looking at Lightning. He didn't want her to see the hurt in his eyes. He didn't want her to go, but there was nothing he could do. When things were going so well, something had to come and ruin it. Why did something always have to put an end to his happiness? It wasn't fair.

Light ran a hand over Riku's arm, remaining silent. She didn't know what to say to that. This was the only way that justice would be served for Carson. And the Corps thought that she would receive justice too for her actions against a respected lieutenant. This was just how things were going to be.
