Forever Starts Now (1x1 RP with Forever Love)

Posted

A friend and I have been doing a RP for a while now, and it has been scattered across several threads on two different sites. It started as a group story (about fast food of all things xP) but then it transformed into something else entirely.

We request that nobody join in this RP or post anything on this thread; if you wanna say how awesome we are, message us some other way. :)

Um...You're free to read this for fun if you want to, but this thread has major Birth By Sleep spoilers. And since we've been doing this for a while, we will probably refer to things we've done in the past and you will have no idea what we're talking about. So if you want to save yourself from confusion, then you probably wanna stay away. If not, hey, whatever.

The plot was discussed and posted on another website, but here's a quick summary of the whole thing: It's the return of Xehanort.

Characters:

Peanut: Sora, Namine, Leon, Aerith, King Mickey, Terra, Ventus, Xehanort, etc.

Forever Love: Riku, Kairi, Roxas, Yuffie, Aqua, Vanitus, Tron, etc.

I believe I've said everything that needs to be said...Forever Love, let's get this show on the road, eh? :)

Riku closed his eyes when Lightning ran her hand over his arm, savoring the gentle touch while he could. In a few days, he would never feel it again. At least for a few months. He had to accept this, even if it was unfair for both of them. He would force himself to, of course, since he couldn't do it instantly. He never liked having the people he cared about taken away from him. Ever.

Lightning only kept up her gesture, unsure of what else to do. The silence was awkward and tense, but she didn't know what to say to make things better. She had said enough in this situation already. She was going to serve on the Lindblum, whether she wanted to or not. She had to regain her former life with the Corps.
Riku opened his eyes and looked at the woman he loved. He didn't want her to go, obviously, and he was sure that was evident on his face. But there was nothing he could do. No matter how much he wanted to, he couldn't fight Fate on this. Things were already set, and they couldn't be changed.

Claire ran her hand down the length of Riku's arm one last time before her hand found his. She lightly grasped it and let her sights rest on that, though she felt Riku's gaze on her now. She figured that she probably didn't want to see the look on his face right now.
Riku curled his fingers around Lightning's, the boy looking at her for a little while longer. He then lowered his head, bringing his lips to her pink hair as he closed his eyes. He would miss her...so much.

Lightning shut her eyes and lowered her head a little at the kiss, her hand tightening around Riku's. She wanted to spend every waking minute with him before she had to go, but she knew that she couldn't do that. He had a job, and she had preparations to make for the Lindblum. This sucks.
Riku held the position for a while, but then he pulled back. He leaned his forehead against Lightning's head, not saying anything as he kept his eyes closed. How could this be happening? They were apart enough already...

"...What are we going to do?" Lightning asked softly. They were going to be apart, obviously, but...Would Riku wait for her? Or was he fed up enough with the two of them being dragged apart all the time? She didn't know what to expect of him.
Riku released a small sigh, though he kept his forehead againt Lightning's. "You do your thing, and I'll do mine," he said softly. They had no other choice. She had to work...and he had to stay here.

Light nodded faintly, though that didn't answer her other concerns. "Are we still going to be..." together? She was sure that she wouldn't meet anyone on board the Lindblum that she liked better than Riku, but there was a chance Riku could like somebody else out there. And if he did...He shouldn't have felt pressured by her. Right?
Riku hated hearing Lightning doubt their relationship, and he knew that was where she was going with this. "Light..." he said softly, pulling his head away from hers and squeezing her hand. He loved her. He didn't want to be apart from her...

Lightning didn't look up, hearing how Riku said her name. She felt like she understood what he was thinking, but she wasn't going to jump to conclusions. She wanted to stay in a relationship with Riku even if they weren't together physically. She just needed to know what he wanted.
"Look at me," Riku said then, lifting his hand to tilt Lightning's chin up. He was hurt by what was going on, but his feelings for her would never change. She had to have known that, and if she didn't, he would remind her.

Lightning opened her eyes and felt Riku lift her chin up, the young woman going with the motion willingly. She didn't want to fight him, especially not when she was about to go away for at least three months. During these next few days, she wouldn't fight with him at all. Whatever he wanted, she would give him. It was the least she could do for leaving him like this.
"Three months isn't going to change anything," Riku said, his eyes resting on the pale blue he came to adore. "I'll be right here, okay? Waiting." He wasn't going anywhere, unless he got called away by the Keyblade of course. "I love you."

Light couldn't help but smile weakly, though it was a sad smile. "I love you too." She should have known that he would wait...He waited for her before. Well, sort of. She jumped five years into the future, and he waited for her to come to him even when he thought she was dead. He didn't give up on her then, and he wouldn't give up on her now.
Riku leaned his head forward, closing the gap between him and Lightning as he kissed her. A moment later, he pulled back. "We'll make this work," he told her softly. He loved her with all he had, so he wasn't about to give up on them because of her job. It was important to her to stay with it, so he would support that decision, even if it hurt him in the long run.

Lightning opened her eyes after the kiss, nodding faintly as she looked in Riku's eyes. She didn't know how else to respond. But she did have a lot of faith in Riku, and in their relationship as a whole. She wasn't going to give up on him, and he wasn't going to give up on her. Now all they needed to do is figure out what to do with the time they had left together.
Riku moved his hand from underneath Lightning's chin to the side of her face, a few of his fingers intertwining with her hair. He only looked at her, not wanting to go back inside with the kids yet. He wanted to be with her, for the next three days. He would stay at her place or she could stay at his. He didn't care; he just wanted to be with her.

Two days later

Lightning sat with Riku on top of a hill in Destiny Islands, the two of them overlooking the beach. They had been sitting there for a while, but it wasn't until just recently that Sora, Kairi, and Namine showed up down there. The three of them didn't notice her and Riku, and that was alright. It looked like they were busy with something, though Light didn't figure out what that was yet. Namine was taking pictures of the couple, but for what reason?

Riku sat with one knee propped up, his arm against his knee as he looked down at his three friends. Sora and Kairi's engagement pictures were getting shot right now, by Namine. He knew of the plan, and how Kairi was out of the loop. He saw her reaction when she and Sora showed up and saw Namine; she was thrilled. It was probably worth the secrets and little white lies. Some people liked surprises, while others didn't. And that was okay. Everyone was different, especially the woman sitting beside Riku on top of the hill. She was one of a kind.

...Engagement pictures, Lightning thought after a few moments. That was the only thing that made sense to her. She remembered when Snow and Serah got theirs done, and they had gotten them done on a beach as well. And when Serah came home...she had been gushing about it. She absolutely loved it.
Riku glanced at Lightning out of the corner of his eye, but then he looked down at his friends on the beach again. She was leaving tomorrow....and he was going to miss her terribly. He remembered what his older self told him in the letter, which he had in safekeeping to this day: never let Lightning go. He was kind of doing that now, though it wasn't the same thing. He was letting her do her thing, which was with the Corps. She had a life other than him, though he did want her to be a part of his life permanently. He blamed the scene before him for that thought.

"...What're you thinking?" Lightning asked after a few moments, her gaze still set on the beach. She felt Riku's gaze on her quite a few times within the past few minutes, so surely whatever his thoughts were, they concerned her. And her thoughts were all about him, too. She was leaving him tomorrow...
Riku lowered his gaze to his knee at that, knowing he should have expected that question. "...How much I'm gonna miss you," he admitted quietly. He was being a softy, but he allowed it to happen. He loved Lightning; he didn't need to hide who he was from her. She understood him.
