Forever Starts Now (1x1 RP with Forever Love)

Posted

A friend and I have been doing a RP for a while now, and it has been scattered across several threads on two different sites. It started as a group story (about fast food of all things xP) but then it transformed into something else entirely.

We request that nobody join in this RP or post anything on this thread; if you wanna say how awesome we are, message us some other way. :)

Um...You're free to read this for fun if you want to, but this thread has major Birth By Sleep spoilers. And since we've been doing this for a while, we will probably refer to things we've done in the past and you will have no idea what we're talking about. So if you want to save yourself from confusion, then you probably wanna stay away. If not, hey, whatever.

The plot was discussed and posted on another website, but here's a quick summary of the whole thing: It's the return of Xehanort.

Characters:

Peanut: Sora, Namine, Leon, Aerith, King Mickey, Terra, Ventus, Xehanort, etc.

Forever Love: Riku, Kairi, Roxas, Yuffie, Aqua, Vanitus, Tron, etc.

I believe I've said everything that needs to be said...Forever Love, let's get this show on the road, eh? :)

Lightning hummed, looking down at her knees that were brought up a little bit. There wasn't much she could say to that. She was going to miss him too, very badly. If she thought that the distance was bad before, it was going to be even worse now. And she hated that.
Riku didn't mind the silence that followed what he said, letting his eyes fall on the scene below. Sora and Kairi were happy, and he hoped to be just as happy with Lightning. And for them to truly be together. He hated how the distance between them kept growing.

Light opened her mouth to say that Riku should visit Serah to check on updates from her, but she had told him as much the other day already. She closed her mouth and looked down at the beach, remaining silent. There wasn't too much to say. How were they supposed to be happy and enjoy their time together when they knew it was going to end so soon?
Riku and Lightning were close the past two days, though. If they weren't here, they were at her place. He lingered in the room when she was packing the other day, getting all of her things ready. It was a sad sight, but he wanted to be there, nonetheless. The distance between them would be enough for a long time come tomorrow, so he wanted to be as close to Lightning as he could for the next few hours...and tonight, if possible.

Lightning looked up after a minute, watching Namine get Sora and Kairi into a certain pose. "Engaged as soon as she became an adult," she murmured softly of the couple. Sora proposed to Kairi on her eighteenth birthday, the first chance that he could get. That's true love.
Riku blinked at the comment, but he nodded nonetheless. "Sora couldn't wait any longer. He'd waited fourteen years," he said softly. He knew that Sora loved Kairi the moment they met, and that they were destined to be together. The fact that they were engaged blew his mind sometimes, but he accepted it wholeheartedly. They belonged together.

"True love doesn't wait longer than necessary," Lightning murmured, speaking her thoughts aloud. Sora didn't wait to propose--Riku just said that he couldn't wait, because he was so in love with Kairi. It was quick and probably caught Kairi off guard, but it wasn't a bad thing that Sora proposed quickly; it was a healthy relationship, and the two of them were ready for marriage. Sora would have forced himself to wait if he had been worried about hurting Kairi in any way. So...true love did wait. However long the wait was.
Riku hummed softly, staring down at the beach for a moment. But then he turned his head, gazing at the woman he loved. True love doesn't wait longer than necessary, he thought silently. Was that a hint he was supposed to catch? If so, he knew what it meant. Marriage...for himself and Light. Right?

Light didn't feel Riku's gaze on her this time, her eyes set on the beach. She pulled her legs closer and set her chin on her knees, a soft breeze making her bangs shift positions so they were over her now-closed eyes. She never used to believe in love, not the romantic type. But now she saw that love, wherever she went. And she felt it, too.
Riku let his gaze linger on Lightning for a little while longer, the young man tilting his head. He lifted a hand and set it on Lightning's shoulder closest to him, squeezing it gently. He loved her, and she already knew that. But...he wanted to prove that he loved her even more. A proposal, that was what his future self suggested. But now wasn't a good time. She was leaving...

Lightning turned her head on her knees, her eyes opening as she looked over at her boyfriend. They had been dating for a while now, ever since things with Maleficent ended. But they had fallen for each other before then. Riku had kissed her in desperation when she sold her life for his sake...And then he saved her from that life and from the witch who only wanted to use her for selfish purposes. He had proven his feelings earlier on than Lightning had, though she had shared the same feelings. She had been smitten with him for a while.
Riku smiled weakly, though the expression faded just as soon as it appeared. He lifted his hand from her shoulder and tucked some of her hair behind her ear, just looking at her. He was going to miss her for the next three months, wherever she was on the Lindblum. The love of his life was leaving him, but he would see her again. He promised he would wait.

Light shut her eyes for a brief moment when she felt Riku's fingertips touch her skin, but then she opened her pale blue eyes again and looked at him. She would miss him, even if she was going to be far more busy than he was going to be. At least, she hoped that was the case. She didn't want him getting into trouble while she was gone.
Riku slowly took his hand back, his eyes staying on the woman beside him. He wanted her to be with him...for a very, very long time. He may not have known her as long as Sora knew Kairi, but...he felt that he was old enough to make this kind of decision on his own. He knew what he wanted, and he wanted a life alongside her.

Lightning kept her eyes on Riku. "Do you think we'll ever be like them?" she asked quietly after about a minute of staring. Sora and Kairi were two of the happiest people that she ever met. They were always hopeful, always strong...and always getting along. The two of them didn't squabble, not like she and Riku did. Was their bickering bad?
Riku blinked at the question, in which he instantly looked to his two best friends on the beach. By what Lightning said, he knew she was referring to Sora and Kairi. "...Maybe," he said softly. He wasn't sure what part of them she wanted to be like, but he sure hoped they were like that someday. Happy...engaged... It would be nice.

Light hummed, turning her head so her chin rested on her knees. She looked ahead at the beach, hearing Sora's laugh clearly. He always found something to laugh and smile about. But these days, he had every reason to smile and laugh. His friends and the worlds were safe, and he was with Kairi. She would have been happy too if things were that way in her life. For her...Things were much more complicated.
"...You want that kind of life?" Riku asked after a moment's hesitation. He kept his eyes on his friends below, knowing what was in their future. But he had no idea what was in his and Light's except for her time on the Lindblum. But when she got back, and she said she wanted the kind of life Kairi had with Sora, he would do his best to give it to her.

"I want happiness, and I can only have that when I'm with you," Light said quietly, not caring if she was being bold. She and Riku were both that way, especially now. There was no time to waste words or moments together. Or to lie. She had never truly been happy with her life until she met Riku, and she wouldn't be that way without him. He saved her in more ways than one.
One corner of Riku's lips turned up at the words, and he lowered his gaze to the grass underneath him. "Mm," he hummed softly. "...Then I'll do whatever it takes." He would make sure she was happy. He would devote his life to her, one way or another. If marriage was in that equation, great. As soon as the time felt right...he'd propose, if that was what Lightning wanted for the rest of her life, of course.

Lightning hummed, feeling her lips turn up in a faint smile. I know you will. Riku had proven himself many, many times in the past--and in the future. She could never forget about when she jumped five years into the future and Riku was there, waiting for her. She could never forget something so touching.
Riku let his eyes fall on the Island not too far off, just beyond where Namine was taking Sora and Kairi's pictures. This place used to be his life, then it was the Keyblade. Now...it was Light. The Keyblade was involved and so were his friends, as they played a daily role in his life. But...Lightning was different, for one obvious reason: she had his heart.

Light's thoughts subtly changed to something she had done yesterday, when Riku wasn't around. "I have something for you," she said softly, her legs going down to the ground as she opened up her pouch and pulled out an envelope. It had a few pictures inside, a few of the photos that the photographer snapped at Serah's wedding so long ago. She wanted Riku to have them.
"Mm?" Riku hummed, his smile fading as his eyes found the one he loved. When he saw the envelope in her hands, he grew confused. The first thing he thought of was a letter, something she didn't want him to open until she left. But...why would she write him? She could have just told him what she wanted to say, right?

"Here," Lightning said, holding out the envelope for Riku to take. These pictures were for him to keep; she already had copies of them at her house. One she had sitting on her end table by her bed...the others were in an album, for safe keeping. That was a day that she would always cherish.
