Forever Starts Now (1x1 RP with Forever Love)

Posted

A friend and I have been doing a RP for a while now, and it has been scattered across several threads on two different sites. It started as a group story (about fast food of all things xP) but then it transformed into something else entirely.

We request that nobody join in this RP or post anything on this thread; if you wanna say how awesome we are, message us some other way. :)

Um...You're free to read this for fun if you want to, but this thread has major Birth By Sleep spoilers. And since we've been doing this for a while, we will probably refer to things we've done in the past and you will have no idea what we're talking about. So if you want to save yourself from confusion, then you probably wanna stay away. If not, hey, whatever.

The plot was discussed and posted on another website, but here's a quick summary of the whole thing: It's the return of Xehanort.

Characters:

Peanut: Sora, Namine, Leon, Aerith, King Mickey, Terra, Ventus, Xehanort, etc.

Forever Love: Riku, Kairi, Roxas, Yuffie, Aqua, Vanitus, Tron, etc.

I believe I've said everything that needs to be said...Forever Love, let's get this show on the road, eh? :)

Riku lifted a hand and gently took the envelope from Lightning, staring at it for a moment before looking back to her. "What is it?" he asked softly, curious. He obviously wasn't around to see her grab this.

"Open it up and find out," Lightning said, motioning to it with her hand before she set her hand on her knee. It was nothing top secret. And while she was planning on giving these photos to Riku today, she had something else that she would give him right before she left. It was something important to her, so she knew Riku would hold onto it for her.
Riku smirked slightly and nodded, flipping the envelope over and opening it like he was told. What he discovered were multiple items, and they were pictures. He saw the first one, and it was one of him and Lightning, a close-up. Her forehead was against his, and he was smiling at her. "Hm," he hummed, smiling softly. Serah's wedding.

Light smiled softly at Riku's expression, and she only had to scoot over a few inches to do her next action. She set her head on Riku's shoulder so that she could look at the pictures as well, since she never got tired of looking at them. They were both so happy that day, so in love. And the latter had only grown since that day.
Riku flipped to the next picture, one of him walking with Lightning and holding her hand. "...It feels like this was ages ago," he said softly, staring at the picture. It felt like a long time had passed since this happened, but it was only a few months' time.

"I know," Light agreed softly, looking down at the picture. It felt so incredibly long ago. She had changed in a lot of ways and so had Riku, but their love had only grown since that day. So, pictures like these still portrayed a part of them that existed. They still loved each other...And they always would. That was what she believed.
Riku flipped through the pictures for the next few minutes, a faint smile on his face the whole time. He and Light were so...happy, and they hadn't been that happy together ever since. He wanted to change that, and soon. But the wait would take three months. After that, they could start changing everything.

Light shut her eyes when Riku flipped to the picture they started with, a soft breeze blowing her pink hair. She would have to show him the rest of the album sometime. Not today, obviously, because they were here in the Islands. And tomorrow wouldn't work, because that was the day she was leaving. Whenever she returned, she would show those pictures to Riku.
Riku put the pictures back in the envelope, then setting it to the side. He turned his head, planting a small kiss on the top of Lightning's head. "Thank you," he said softly. He had forgotten all about the pictures, actually, since there were so many other things happening these days. But they were a good reminder of the past.

"Mm," Lightning hummed softly, smiling faintly at Riku's kiss. You're welcome. She had been meaning to at least show him the pictures for a while, but now she knew that he would hold onto them. She had one in her pouch, too, just for her to look at whenever she wanted. She had kept it on her for a while now.
Riku looked down at the woman he loved before turning his head, seeing that his friends appeared to be done with the pictures, at least on the beach. They were all walking away, but he didn't feel like leaving just yet. And he was sure Lightning felt the same way.

Light opened her eyes after a few moments, glancing up at Riku before she followed his gaze to the beach and saw their three other friends leaving. She wasn't too surprised; there were a lot of ways to take pictures on a beach, but there were a lot of other beautiful places in this world. She was sure Namine would give her friends the best photography she could.
Riku looked out at the water once his friends vanished from his sight, the boy starting to think about the next few months. They would be lonely, even if he had friends to entertain him for a little while. But none of them were Lightning, and they never would be. She would be gone...and he would be here, both of them working but on different worlds. It was a sad thought, but it was one Riku couldn't help. He was never the optimistic one of the group.

"Any ideas for the rest of the day?" Light asked softly after a minute or two of silence. She didn't care what it was as long as she was with Riku. Even if they did something crazy and stupid like cliff-diving again, she would do it. Anything to enjoy her time with Riku would be fine.
Riku thought about it, but he came up with nothing in the end. "I wish I could think of something...but I've got nothing," he said softly, and regretfully. Sora and Kairi had their special place, which he knew about since he'd explored it once with Sora when they were little. Roxas and Namine had theirs, he was sure; they were always running off somewhere. He only wished that he and Lightning had someplace to go, but they didn't.

"Hmph," Light hummed, taking her head off Riku's shoulder. She nudged him with an elbow lightly, planning to tease him. "Go jump off a cliff then, Riku," she joked. If he couldn't come up with a creative idea, then she suggested that she jumped off a cliff. But that itself was her creative idea. Why couldn't they go cliff diving again?
Riku looked over at Lightning and smirked, nodding. "Sounds like a plan." He grabbed the envelope on the ground and then pushed himself to his feet, taking her up on that idea. He held out a hand for Lightning, knowing they would only have to walk a short distance to reach a good cliff to jump off of.

Lightning hummed, her smirk growing. She accepted Riku's hand and stood up easily, brushing herself off after that. Cliff diving...She was going to enjoy this. Last time she and Riku did this, they had a lot of fun together. She was sure that today would be the same.
Riku looked at Lightning for a second before he turned his head, locating the cliff that would be the center of their activity. "This way," he motioned with a jerk of his head, starting in that direction. One last thrill.

The next morning

It was early that next morning that Lightning rolled out of bed and gathered the last of her possessions to pack up. She had tried to do it silently, but Riku was such a light sleeper that he woke up too. They didn't speak much, only staying close to each other as their parting time kept getting closer. After breakfast, Lightning put her backpack onto her back and the two of them walked to the beach, where soldiers were starting to arrive and get onto the ship. And say their goodbyes. This is it.

Riku walked with Lightning across the sand, and he stared up at the large ship, his feet slowing until he stopped. The ship was huge, not that he expected anything less for all of the soldiers that would be on it, including his. He tightened his grasp on the young woman's hand, releasing a small breath. It was time for them to say goodbye...

Light stopped when Riku did, feeling his grasp tighten around her hand. He would be able to let her go, right? He had to...This was their only choice. He wanted her to have this so badly, and she wanted it in return. She felt like she was meant to be in the Corps to defend those who couldn't do it themselves. Riku could do that with his Keyblade, and she did it with the Corps. This was how their lives worked.
Riku lowered his sights to the other people saying goodbye, some of them families. He saw one couple hug, the person he guessed to be the wife crying sadly. He wouldn't cry, but he would be just as upset. He hated goodbyes, and he was never good at them. This wasn't going to be easy.

Lightning stepped in front of Riku, still holding his hand as she faced him. She looked up at his face and saw him looking at some of the other goodbyes, so she looked down at his chest. She was good at being stoic and hard when she needed to be, but she wasn't going to mask how much she loved and was going to miss Riku just to be strong. She wouldn't give him any reason to think she wasn't sad about leaving him.
Riku lowered his eyes to the woman he cherished when she stepped in front of him, managing to tear his eyes away from all of the other people saying goodbye. He wasn't sure what to say, so he only gazed at Lightning's face and took in the feeling of her hand being in his. He wouldn't see her or touch her for three months... Three months too long.
