Forever Starts Now (1x1 RP with Forever Love)

Posted

A friend and I have been doing a RP for a while now, and it has been scattered across several threads on two different sites. It started as a group story (about fast food of all things xP) but then it transformed into something else entirely.

We request that nobody join in this RP or post anything on this thread; if you wanna say how awesome we are, message us some other way. :)

Um...You're free to read this for fun if you want to, but this thread has major Birth By Sleep spoilers. And since we've been doing this for a while, we will probably refer to things we've done in the past and you will have no idea what we're talking about. So if you want to save yourself from confusion, then you probably wanna stay away. If not, hey, whatever.

The plot was discussed and posted on another website, but here's a quick summary of the whole thing: It's the return of Xehanort.

Characters:

Peanut: Sora, Namine, Leon, Aerith, King Mickey, Terra, Ventus, Xehanort, etc.

Forever Love: Riku, Kairi, Roxas, Yuffie, Aqua, Vanitus, Tron, etc.

I believe I've said everything that needs to be said...Forever Love, let's get this show on the road, eh? :)

Lightning gently slipped her hand out of Riku's, speaking as she performed her next actions. "I know I gave you the pictures yesterday, but..." She trailed off, undoing the clasp on her necklace behind her neck. She redid it so the pendant wouldn't fall off, the young woman offering the possession to Riku as it lay in her outstretched hand. My lightning-bolt necklace.
Riku blinked, looking down at the necklace in Lightning's hand. "Why are you...?" he asked softly, trailing off as he glanced up at her. This was her necklace... He'd hardly seen her without it on. It obviously meant something to her, so why was she giving it to him?

"I want you to hold onto it for me," Light said softly, lifting her gaze to Riku's eyes. And whenever you feel alone, you can pull it out and know that I'm with you, at least in spirit. That was what she was saying, and she hoped that Riku understood it. It was like a piece of her would be with him.
Riku's eyes rested on Lightning's, and he nodded silently. She didn't need to say anymore. He lifted his hand and took the pendant out of her grasp, holding it in his hand for a moment before he put it in his pocket. He would give it back when she came home.

Lightning let her hand fall back to her side after Riku took the necklace and put it in his pocket. She felt like he understood what she was saying, so she didn't bother speaking again. All that was left to say was...farewell. Or rather, "see you later". Goodbyes were too permanent for her; she'd see him again in a few months.
Riku's eyes found Lightning's once more, the young man smiling ever so slightly. "Don't get into trouble while you're gone," he advised her lovingly, though he was also teasing her. The last thing she needed was another suspension, and he was sure she would be on her best behavior. Lightning was very professional, so he wasn't too worried.

"Hmph," Light hummed with a small smirk. "I was going to tell you the same thing." She knew that the Keyblade sometimes attracted trouble, and so did Riku, depending on his mood. She didn't want him looking for trouble while she was gone, because then she couldn't help him in any way. She was sure things would be fine on her side, though, so Riku had no reason to worry.
"Hm," Riku hummed softly, his smile growing somewhat. But his eyes seemed to say it all. No worries. He had Sora and Kairi to keep him in line, if they weren't too busy. Their wedding was coming up soon, and they were busy preparing. He'd probably be on his own for a little while, but he'd survive.

"And keep an eye on Ven and Serah for me?" Lightning requested softly, glancing downwards briefly before she looked to Riku's eyes again. Those two were her family, so she didn't want either of them getting into trouble. They were the only blood relatives she had left.
"Of course," Riku said with a small nod. He hadn't doubted she would ask, and he wasn't about to let her down. He was planning to visit Serah periodically anyway, to see how Light was doing. Ven was around all the time, so there was nothing to worry about there, either. He would make sure they were okay.

"And take care of yourself," Lightning said softly, lifting a hand and setting it on Riku's cheek. She once saw how he was when he thought she died...He gave up. Of course, death wasn't in the agenda here, so that was nothing to worry about. But loneliness would be a part of both of their lives for the next few months.
Riku closed his eyes at the touch, raising his hand to sit on Lightning's arm that was lifted toward him already. He nodded slightly, though the action didn't affect her hand being on his cheek. Watching her go would be hard...but it wasn't like he wouldn't see her again. She would come back.

Lightning leaned up and gave Riku a kiss on the lips, her eyes shutting as she did. She didn't want to drag out this goodbye to be too long; she had to get on board the ship and find her position. Time was never on her side. It was something that she was used to by now.
Riku's eyebrows furrowed at the kiss, the boy lifting his free hand to sit on Lightning's waist as he kissed her back. There was no doubt in his mind that he was going to miss her like crazy, but this was something she had to do. This was what she wanted, and he wasn't about to be in the way of that.

Light lifted a hand and set it on Riku's chest, feeling his beating heart beneath her palm. But after a few moments, she heard the call from the deck of the ship. It was time for all the soldiers to come and receive their instruction. She pulled back from the kiss and looked up at Riku one last time. I have to go.
Riku didn't open his eyes right away, having picked up on that call. He didn't like hearing it, but... This is the way things have to be. Opening his eyes, he saw the woman he loved and the look she was giving him. He understood. "...I love you, Light," he said softly. He would miss her.

"I love you too," Light whispered, taking her hand away from Riku's face. She loved him with all that she had, even if it didn't seem like enough sometimes. But it didn't matter. Somehow, she'd make it up to Riku. She already gave him her heart, and someday, she hoped to give him herself. She wanted to be his...forever.
Riku forced a weak smile, but it disappeared a second later. He squeezed Lightning's side before taking his hands back as well, knowing that she had to go. This was her chance for redemption in the Corps, and he wasn't about to spoil it. She already knew where he'd be when she came home. Right here.

Lightning leaned up and gave Riku a quick peck on the lips as one last sign of affection. She took her hand off his chest and then started towards the ship, seeing other people starting to do this as well. This was a new beginning for her, a chance to redeem herself with the Corps. She wouldn't squander this time away from Riku.
Riku watched Lightning go, his eyes trailing every step she took. Three months, that was it. It was better than a year, and way better than an eternity. She would be back soon, and he would be ready to see her.

Ten Days Later

"How's the food?" Serah couldn't help but ask, smiling even if the person on the other side of the phone couldn't see it. Lightning was on the other line...This was the first time that they talked since she started on the Lindblum. They had already covered the other basics, so Serah felt free enough to ask her big sister that not-so-serious question.

"Not as good as yours," Lightning said, smiling weakly in sadness. She missed her baby sister, a lot. And her cooking was always extraordinary. The food here...Not so much. But she was surviving and getting back into the swing of things with the Corps. It helped that Amador and some of her other friends in the Corps were here. She was actually enjoying it a little bit.

Riku approached Serah and Snow's door, hoping at least one of them was home. He was keeping his promise to Light, and that was to keep an eye on Serah and Ven for her. He was here a few days after Lightning left, but he was back to see how Serah was doing. Ven was doing well and keeping himself busy, so he was curious as to how Serah was. He lifted a hand, ringing the doorbell before ruffling his silver hair. He got it cut recently, since it was getting too long again. Light preferred it short anyway, so he would keep it that way. Riku looked down at the thought of his beloved, lifting a hand to the chain around his neck. He pulled on it gently, lifting the necklace out from under his collar to wrap his fist around the pendant of Lightning's necklace. Gosh, he missed her.

"Well, you know Snow and I would have been with you in a heartbeat if you gave us an invitation," Serah teased, starting towards the door to let in whoever was there. Snow wasn't home, so maybe he was ringing the bell because he locked himself out again.

"Yeah. I'm sure I'm not the only person who would enjoy your gourmet cooking," Lightning joked in return, her smile turning happier instead of sadder. Gosh I miss you. But Serah was as optimistic as ever, and she was acting the same even though Lightning wasn't around to see her. She knew it wasn't because her sister didn't miss her; it was because she knew Light wouldn't want her to be sad.

"Oh, so my food's gourmet now?" Serah returned into the phone as she opened the door, smiling at the person who stood there. Riku. That's great timing. "I'm touched, Lightning, really." But then again, any food was probably good compared to military food. It was just what her gut told her.

Riku looked up when the door opened, and when he heard her name, he let go of the necklace around his neck as his eyes widened. "Lightning?" he mouthed, pointing at the phone. Did he really have such good luck?

Serah smiled to Riku, nodding and motioning for him to come inside. Lightning was on the phone, and Serah had already covered the basics for her. Riku could have Light all to himself for a while if he wanted.

"I want a buffet when I come back," Lightning said, laying down on her back on the bed. Serah already knew all her favorite foods, so she was sure her sister would give her a grand welcome home with some of her favorite meals. It would be incredible if she still had an appetite after eating all this disgusting food, though.

"Consider it done," Serah said with a small smirk. "My food's better than yours any day. And I'm sure Riku agrees. While he's here, I should probably ask him for his opinion. What do you think?" Of course, she was just teasing her sister, and letting her know her boyfriend was in the house. This is really terrific timing.
