Forever Starts Now (1x1 RP with Forever Love)

Posted

A friend and I have been doing a RP for a while now, and it has been scattered across several threads on two different sites. It started as a group story (about fast food of all things xP) but then it transformed into something else entirely.

We request that nobody join in this RP or post anything on this thread; if you wanna say how awesome we are, message us some other way. :)

Um...You're free to read this for fun if you want to, but this thread has major Birth By Sleep spoilers. And since we've been doing this for a while, we will probably refer to things we've done in the past and you will have no idea what we're talking about. So if you want to save yourself from confusion, then you probably wanna stay away. If not, hey, whatever.

The plot was discussed and posted on another website, but here's a quick summary of the whole thing: It's the return of Xehanort.

Characters:

Peanut: Sora, Namine, Leon, Aerith, King Mickey, Terra, Ventus, Xehanort, etc.

Forever Love: Riku, Kairi, Roxas, Yuffie, Aqua, Vanitus, Tron, etc.

I believe I've said everything that needs to be said...Forever Love, let's get this show on the road, eh? :)

Lightning "hmphed", shutting her eyes at the comment. Even through that one word, she knew what Riku was thinking. She had gotten to know him better since the last time they were separated; she could read him better now. She was glad for that; she just wished she was with him to read him, not just talking to him on the phone.
Riku leaned his head back against the couch, staring up at the ceiling before he closed his eyes. "...I miss you, Light," he admitted softly. Neither of them had said such a thing just yet, but he was sure he wasn't the only one thinking something along those lines. She sounded close, but she was really miles away. It hurt to know that, and Riku knew he really was a softy at that moment.

Light's expression softened, her eyes opening as she gazed up at the ceiling. "I miss you too," she said softly. She wished that she was with him, or that he was here with her. The first ten days were hard, so she hoped that things would get easier as this went on. Going on this way...It would cause a lot of heartache.
Riku smiled ever so slightly, but then it faded away. He didn't know what to say after that. It had only been ten days and he was already going crazy without her. True, they had been separated from each other for ten days before, but he knew that he couldn't see her this time. It made it tougher.

Lightning looked over at the clock on the wall, seeing that she had to go report for her shift soon. "...I have to go," she said softly. She couldn't be late. If she was and they found out it was because she was on the phone, then her phone rights would have been taken away. That was the last thing she wanted.
Riku frowned at that, but he didn't fight against it. "Alright," he said softly. He couldn't say that he would talk to her later, because it was pure luck that he was talking to her now. But...he would see her at the end of all of this. He just had to keep remembering that.

Lightning pushed herself up off the bed, still holding the phone to her ear as she did so. "I love you," she said, smiling weakly just because of the truth behind the words. She loved Riku, and even if they were apart now, that love wasn't going to change. It never would.
Riku hummed softly, unable to fight the smile that appeared on his face. "I love you too," he replied gently. Distance couldn't get in the way of that, and he was sure she knew it too. "Hang in there." Light could handle the gross food and distance for a few more weeks. They would see each other soon.

"Right back at you," Lightning said softly. She would hang in there, clearly. And she was sure that Riku would deal with the situation, just like he always did. They would be together again once her service on the Lindblum was done, she was sure. "Bye."
"See ya," Riku said with a sad smile. He then pulled the phone away from his ear and pushed a button to end the call. Once that was done, he sighed, leaning back against the couch. They had nearly eleven more weeks apart. He would have to deal.

Ten days later

Lightning's feet hit the soft grass, the soldier sprinting away from the trouble. She was out of the dangerous area, but she was in the clear of Gran Pulse. That wasn't a safe place, not at all. How could this have happened? she thought for the millionth time, glancing over her shoulder at the burning Lindblum. The ship...It had run straight into the pillar that held up Cocoon. The ship and the pillar were both destroyed, and now so was Cocoon. It fell down and crashed into Gran Pulse. Lightning could only imagine how many people died from the events. On board the ship, most people were asleep since it was nighttime. And Cocoon...It was helpless. Serah...Snow...Hope, Sazh. Where are you guys? Light tripped over a root, falling down and feeling a rock cut her leg. But she didn't care. Did I lose all of them?

"This way! C'mon!" Snow hollered, running across the fields of Gran Pulse, pulling Serah behind him as he gripped her hand. The only good part about this whole thing was how they ended up running into Hope and Sazh and Dahj. But their home... It was destroyed, and he didn't even want to think of all of the people who died.

Hope sprinted after Snow and the others, glancing over his shoulder at all of the destruction. Dad...he thought in panic. He'd gotten separated from him, and he could only pray that he was alright. Turning his eyes forward again, he kept up with the others, having gained more stamina since what happened in the past with all of his friends. He was stronger now, and he knew that strength would come in handy right now.

Lightning turned her head at a growl, seeing one of the monsters of Gran Pulse jump at her. She quickly rose to her feet and started fighting it off with her gunblade, ignoring her injuries from the crash. She was lucky to get out of there, and she knew it. She could see Cocoon and the ship burning over to the side...Everything was lost. Cocoon would never be inhabitable again.

Sazh glanced over to the side and saw the chocobo chick pop out of his son's hair, the son that he was holding as the older man kept up with the group. It's days like this I'm glad I'm a pilot, he thought. He grabbed a ship as soon as he saw the danger and saved Hope, and then after that, they ran into Snow and Serah. But he knew there was one other person missing from their group, and that was their soldier girl. "Well, lookie who's up ahead!" he said, relieved. Lightning was alive and well enough to fight off a beast. But she was always strong.

Hope released a grunt in relief. "Lightning!" he cried, continuing to run alongside the others. Thank goodness. She was the last of their group that he hadn't seen, and here she was. But she was fighting off a monster, so they had to help.

"Doesn't look like we've got a friendly greeting," Snow said, tightening his grasp on Serah's hand. They would have to fight, and he was going to do whatever he could to protect his wife. No way was he losing her...or his sister.

Serah grunted, unsure how else to react. She stole another look at Cocoon, seeing that the world she called home was completely destroyed. This had been completely unforeseeable, too. It was so sudden...And how did it happen? How did the Lindblum crash right into the pillar? So many questions...So much death... She looked ahead, seeing Lightning finish off the beast and then sink to one knee. She's wounded. Lightning...

"Light!" Snow called, racing over with the others. He came to a stop next to her, still holding her sister's hand. She was wounded and a mess, but...wasn't she aboard the Lindblum? What happened?

Hope moved forward, bending down in front of Lightning to look at her. He hadn't seen her in forever, and it stunk that it was under such ugly circumstances. "...You okay?" he asked, worry heavy in his voice. What was going on?

Lightning looked up, seeing the group in front of her. Hope, Sazh, Dajh, Snow, and Serah. She couldn't have been more relieved. "I'm fine," she said, putting on one of her masks. I'm not fine. Our home is destroyed. "Are you guys okay? How'd you make it out of there?" They were all here with her; she wasn't just imagining it. It was a miracle that any of them made it out of that mess alive.
"Nothing more than luck," Snow answered on behalf of the group. From what he'd heard, Hope was picked up by Sazh when word got out about the Lindblum's obvious stray from its course. He assumed something fishy was going on, so he got Serah and flew toward Gran Pulse on a vessel he'd used many times before. They barely made it out.

"Guess Lady Luck was on our side," Lightning said, mimicking what Fang always used to say. Fang and Vanille...They were in the pillar. She had to assume that they were destroyed now too. She swore under her breath, looking back to the decimated world. She saw people running around everywhere, trying to figure out what was going on. Thankfully, a lot of people now lived on Gran Pulse instead of Cocoon. If this happened a while ago, a lot more people would have died.
Hope turned, looking over at what used to be their home. "....What happened?" he asked. This couldn't have been an accident. The Corps was super careful with everything they did...

"I swear this was no accident," Lightning said through her teeth, her gaze on the same place as everyone else's. "I was on duty, so I was patrolling to ship to make sure nothing was out of the ordinary. I felt the change in course and went up to the cockpit to see what was going on, and it wasn't like the pilots were asleep. They were awake and leading us straight into the pillar." Cocoon's destruction...It was no mistake.

"I just don't get it," Sazh Katzroy said lowly, faintly shaking his head and setting his son on the ground. "Why would anybody want Cocoon destroyed? Especially the Guardian Corps?" The Corps was full of elite fighters who always protected Cocoon. But today, it sounded like the opposite happened.

Snow ground his teeth together, looking away from his home to the others. "Does this sound familiar to anyone else?" he asked stiffly. The last time Cocoon's well-being was at risk, it was the work of the Fal'Cie. He didn't think this could be a coincidence, not something this bizarre.
  • Author
"...The Fal'Cie?" Serah said hesitantly after a few moments. But I thought that the ones that remained were the ones that wanted to sustain us. I thought they weren't a threat to us anymore... But Snow was right; this was the only thing that made sense. Some evil Fal'Cie had l'Cie doing its bidding again, and they must have organized the destruction of Cocoon.
Snow looked down at his wife, nodding solemnly. "They had to have gotten to the Corps somehow," he said. It was the only conclusion he could make, and the only thing that made sense. He knew that no one in the Corps would want this for Cocoon or its people. The Fal'Cie did this.
  • Author
"Makes sense to me," Light said lowly. "Look, in front of the Lindblum..." She heard a few people scream as they were shot down by some people who were chasing them. And those people were members of the military. The Fal'Cie must have bred an army right underneath our noses, she thought bitterly. This is going to be an all-out war. It's already starting.
