Forever Starts Now (1x1 RP with Forever Love)

Posted

A friend and I have been doing a RP for a while now, and it has been scattered across several threads on two different sites. It started as a group story (about fast food of all things xP) but then it transformed into something else entirely.

We request that nobody join in this RP or post anything on this thread; if you wanna say how awesome we are, message us some other way. :)

Um...You're free to read this for fun if you want to, but this thread has major Birth By Sleep spoilers. And since we've been doing this for a while, we will probably refer to things we've done in the past and you will have no idea what we're talking about. So if you want to save yourself from confusion, then you probably wanna stay away. If not, hey, whatever.

The plot was discussed and posted on another website, but here's a quick summary of the whole thing: It's the return of Xehanort.

Characters:

Peanut: Sora, Namine, Leon, Aerith, King Mickey, Terra, Ventus, Xehanort, etc.

Forever Love: Riku, Kairi, Roxas, Yuffie, Aqua, Vanitus, Tron, etc.

I believe I've said everything that needs to be said...Forever Love, let's get this show on the road, eh? :)

"You wanna talk, or should I give you some time alone with the kid?" Sora asked, arching a brow at Riku. He knew that sometimes, kids were the best company. They had no concerns at all, only joy that they were willing to pass on. But if Riku wanted Sora to be here, then he would be. The two of them were still best friends, and they always would be.
Riku smiled weakly, looking down at Lydia again before his eyes found Sora. "You've become more observant over the years," he said. Or I've just become easier to read. Regardless, he did kind of want to talk, but what could he say? The situation was complicated.

"Yup," Sora agreed. "And you've become better at dodging questions." Like you did just now. If that was a sign that Riku didn't want to talk, then he would accept it. He wasn't going to pressure Riku when he didn't feel like he needed to. By now, Riku knew he could come to Sora about anything.
Riku rolled his eyes, adjusting his hold on Lydia slightly. "Come with me," he said, motioning with his head for them to leave the room. He would rather be outside, so the area at the back of the castle, where some of the training was done depending on the day, was the place he wanted to be. He was sure Sora would understand.

Sora hummed with a small nod, following behind Riku and shutting off the lights once they were out of the room. He could figure out where Riku was going; it was one of their favorite places to hang out these past few years. Wherever Riku wanted to go to talk, Sora would follow. That was what best friends did.
Riku made his way through the castle with Sora, though he didn't talk just yet. On the way to the back of the castle, to the yard, he didn't see Lightning or Ven at all. He guessed that was a good thing. Regardless, he made his way outside, where some chairs were set up in a loose half-circle. He sat down in one, expecting Sora to take the other as he lowered Lydia to the grass. She immediately went over to a patch of flowers, so he leaned back in his seat, preparing for what he had to tell Sora. It was a mess.

Sora sat down in his seat, leaning back and watching Lydia in the flowers. Just like her mother in so many ways, he thought affectionately. He loved his daughter unconditionally, and he was sure that he was going to spoil her rotten as she was growing up. She deserved the best of him.
Riku ran a hand through his hair, releasing a small breath as he looked at Lydia. Sora obviously knew what his goal was today, but if he succeeded? Sora could probably guess. Riku was still a mess, but it was for a different reason. Light didn't want to be here... After all he did, she didn't want to be here with him.

Sora looked over at Riku after a moment, deciding to do some prodding. "So, I can guess why you missed training Terrian," he said. It was Lightning, wasn't it? Riku had been working on a way to go back in time for so long, and he tested the watch a few times with shorter times just to be safe. And it had worked then, so he probably did go back to get Lightning today. But if she was still here, he hadn't seen her yet. She was probably with Ven.
Riku smiled, but it was one of bitterness. "Things didn't exactly go according to plan," he said lowly. Lightning fought him off, somewhat, before they got back. And when they did, she screamed at him because she was so furious. She actually wanted to die? He couldn't believe it...

Yeah, I thought so, Sora pondered, humming and nodding to Riku. He could tell that things weren't great, or else Riku would have been thrilled and smiling. He wondered what went wrong, but he was sure that Riku would fill him in. And whatever was wrong, Sora would try to help fix it.
"...She's furious with me, man," Riku revealed then, his bitter smile fading away as his eyebrows furrowed. "It's like she hates me for what I did." There were some ways that he could understand, but in the long run, he saved her life. He figured she would be grateful...

"What'd you do?" Sora asked with an arched brow, frowning at what Riku told him. Lightning was mad...None of them had figured out for sure what happened that day seven years ago, with her death and the death of her friends. The events that unfolded...Riku just saw them for the first time, and he participated in them. What happened?
"I saved her," Riku said, turning his head to look at his best friend. That was the problem. He saved her and no one else. But...how could he have saved the others? He didn't think there was any way for him to do that...
  • Author
"She's mad at you for saving her life?" Sora asked, his eyebrow remaining raised. There's gotta be more to it than that. He remembered Lightning to be a reasonable person, despite her stubbornness. She couldn't seriously be mad at Riku for doing something that was good for her...
Riku nodded a little. "And the fact that I couldn't save anyone else." He turned his head to watch Lydia again, releasing a soft breath. "I can understand where she's coming from with it, but...I couldn't live with her gone, Sora. It just...wasn't right." It was so hard for him. If he was selfish, he was selfish. But he couldn't live without Lightning. He just couldn't.
  • Author
"You tell her that?" Sora asked, referring to the latter part. He had no idea how things went with Lightning earlier, but he could picture her being upset if she survived something and her friends didn't. He knew that he would be a wreck if he ever lost his friends in something so tragic.
"Kinda," Riku said, keeping his eyes on the little girl a few yards away. "I told her I did what I had to, and that was to save her." He thought it was pretty self-explanitory why he did it. He loved her and couldn't live without her. It was just that simple.
  • Author
"Maybe she's still in shock from whatever happened," Sora guessed with a shrug, his eyes going to Lydia. "If things were as horrifying as they looked..." It was an apocalypse on Gran Pulse. Honestly, he and his friends were lucky to get out the way that they did. The Maker...He destroyed everything, with no exceptions. It was probably a terrible experience, and it was all fresh in Lightning's mind.
"Maybe," Riku said softly. But...did she really have to make it seem like she hated me? He couldn't imagine Lightning hating him, but he got that feeling now. It was awful. He wished he could take back what he did sometimes, but he couldn't wish for that; it would mean she was dead. That was something Riku wasn't willing to accept.
  • Author
"Look, Riku," Sora said, leaning forward in his seat and gazing at his friend. "Whatever happened on Gran Pulse was Hell. Period. We've had seven years to cope with it, and Lightning's had a few hours tops. Whatever she said to you, it was probably just because of the grief." He was no psychologist, but he knew how people acted when they lost someone precious to them. He saw it with Riku, and with Ven, when they lost Serah and Dajh.
Riku looked down at the ground for a minute at the explanation, but then his eyes found his best friend. He could only nod, not knowing how else to respond. Sora made a valid point, but he couldn't help but feel that Lightning would be the same way when all of the shock and grief wore off. What if she never got over it?
  • Author
"I guess just...give her time," Sora said, that being the only advice he could come up with. Lightning would be unpredictable for a while, but they would welcome her here. He was sure that she would be fine at dinner tonight, when everyone ate together. There was always a lot of laughter.
"Mm," Riku hummed, nodding again before turning his head to see Lydia approaching her father with a batch of freshly-picked flowers. By giving her time, he would also give her space. He imagined that he was the last person Lightning wanted to see right now. He'd let Ven keep her company for a while.

Sora shifted his gaze to his daughter, smiling at the flowers that she offered him. "Beautiful," he said softly, gently taking them out of her hand. He used his other hand to lightly poke her nose with his index finger, making her giggle. He would never get tired of that laugh, or his daughter's radiant face.
