Forever Starts Now (1x1 RP with Forever Love)

Posted

A friend and I have been doing a RP for a while now, and it has been scattered across several threads on two different sites. It started as a group story (about fast food of all things xP) but then it transformed into something else entirely.

We request that nobody join in this RP or post anything on this thread; if you wanna say how awesome we are, message us some other way. :)

Um...You're free to read this for fun if you want to, but this thread has major Birth By Sleep spoilers. And since we've been doing this for a while, we will probably refer to things we've done in the past and you will have no idea what we're talking about. So if you want to save yourself from confusion, then you probably wanna stay away. If not, hey, whatever.

The plot was discussed and posted on another website, but here's a quick summary of the whole thing: It's the return of Xehanort.

Characters:

Peanut: Sora, Namine, Leon, Aerith, King Mickey, Terra, Ventus, Xehanort, etc.

Forever Love: Riku, Kairi, Roxas, Yuffie, Aqua, Vanitus, Tron, etc.

I believe I've said everything that needs to be said...Forever Love, let's get this show on the road, eh? :)

I still love you, you know, Riku thought silently, taking his hand back and lightly setting it in the middle of Lightning's back. Time can't even change that. He couldn't let her go... It was impossible. In the morning, it would be the same way, regardless of the fact that she could possibly holler at him, push him, hit him, or reject him. He would always love her. Riku looked at Lightning one last time while she was so close, then closing his eyes to rest.

Light slept through the night in Riku's arms, though when it got closer to dawn, she started having a nightmare. Her expression changed to reflect that, the young woman curling up more while also unknowingly lowering herself so her head was closer to Riku's chest. She had a hand up, grabbing the fabric of his shirt tightly. But in her sleep, she thought it was just a blanket or a pillow.
"Mm?" Riku grunted faintly, his eyebrows furrowing. He was already lingering between sleep and waking, so the grip on his shirt was enough to wake him up fully. He opened his eyes groggily, remembering instantly that he was in Lightning's room. He looked down, seeing that she was closer and gripping his shirt tightly. But...why?

Light wasn't just reliving the previous day, the girl's nightmares worse than that. She dreamed that she alone had accidentally dropped her friends to their deaths. And then...Serah was suddenly there next to her, screaming at her that it was all her fault that they died. All my fault... she thought, pulling herself closer to Riku. It's my fault...
Riku's eyebrows furrowed even more at Lightning's small movement, his hand automatically shifting on her back as he looked down at her. What was wrong? The only thing he could assume was that she was having a nightmare, and he could guess easily what it was about. He closed his eyes, lowering his head to be closer to hers. I'm so sorry...

Snap out of it! Lightning's consciousness ordered her, the young woman waking up instantaneously and escaping the nightmare. She opened her eyes and saw the dark fabric right in front of her, though she thought that she was holding a blanket for a second. But then...she felt the hand on her back. I...I can't be...He can't be...can he?
Riku didn't sense that Lightning was awake, the young man moving his hand ever so slightly up her back as he exhaled a breath. I wish I could make things easier, he thought silently. He would do anything to make Lightning happy. But...he didn't want to lose her in the process. Was there any way that he could do that?

Lightning immediately released the shirt in front of her, also lifting her chin to look up to see the person who was holding her. She immediately felt conflicting emotions, one telling her to push Riku away while the other told her to pull him closer. She was frozen by indecision, though her eyes were on what she could see of his face still. How long was he...?
Riku felt like someone's eyes were on him, and the first thing he suspected was someone walked into Light's room. But when he opened his eyes, he knew immediately that he was wrong. He could only look at her, his eyes wide in startlement. When did she wake up? He grunted softly, moving his hand ever so slightly without thought. Uh-oh.

Light could easily read Riku's expression, one that showed he believed he was in trouble. But was he? She wasn't exactly pushing him away...Not like she did yesterday when she was crying. She didn't know why Riku was here, but she could take a guess. Ven told her Riku hadn't seen her for seven years; he went that long without holding her...That was why he was here now, wasn't it?
"I-I, uh..." Riku stuttered, feeling like a fool as he stared at Lightning with wide eyes. I should go, he instantly thought. Right now. This wasn't a good place to be, not like this. Not after what she said to him yesterday. She didn't want him here, did she? He took his hand off her back, holding it up in the air so she could move away if she wanted to. He would understand.

Lightning stared at Riku for a few more seconds, though she didn't move away. Instead, she lowered her head the way that it was before and shut her eyes. She was furious at Riku, but...She could never unleash all that fury at him. He loved her enough to devote seven years to trying to save her, and she loved him too. After hearing Ven tell what happened to Riku these past few years, she knew she couldn't scream at him so harshly again. Not without reason, at least.
Riku was frozen in shock, simply staring down at Lightning in surprise. "...Light?" he said softly. What was she doing? Wasn't this the part where she was supposed to push him off the bed, scream at him, and tell him to get out?

"You have no idea how furious I am at you," Lightning mumbled, though she was sure that Riku could understand it. She was so, so mad at him. He prevented her from saving her friends. He kidnapped her and forced her to live here against her will. He was acting like a stranger by yelling at her, especially when she was grieving. But...She loved him. Still.
No, I do, Riku thought silently, his eyebrows furrowing in confusion. He knew that she was mad at him; he could feel the tension whenever he was around her. It was obvious. "...Why are you doing this?" he asked. If Light was so mad at him, why was she still clinging to him? Why didn't she push him away, like she did before?

"Because, I'm not a completely unreasonable person," Lightning responded softly. "...Seven years is a long time." So in other words, she was letting Riku have this moment, and she wouldn't fight him. But later she would; she would fight him over that watch. So enjoy this moment while you can, Riku.
Riku didn't know what to think at that answer, so he could only ask another question. "So you're just going to let me do this?" he asked in bewilderment. She was allowing him to get away with sneaking into her room and crawling into her bed without permission? It didn't seem reasonable to him...and he didn't really feel right about it.

"If you don't want to be here, leave," Light said simply, her eyes remaining shut. But of course, she knew Riku well enough to know he wouldn't get up and walk away when this may have been one of his only chances to hold her. Besides, seven years really was a long time. More than she could grasp at the moment.
Riku shook his head at that. No, no I want to be here, he thought. More than anything. He wrapped his arms around Lightning, pulling her close as he lowered his face into her hair. She didn't have to embrace him in return. He just...wanted this. Just for a minute.

Lightning already had her eyes shut when her face pressed against Riku's strong chest, his arms also much tighter than they had been when he was trying not to wake her. She didn't embrace him back, because she really was mad at him. More than he knew.
Riku squeezed his eyes shut, fighting his emotions. He was so...happy, that she was finally here. His Light...his girl. She was with him, after being away for seven years. Seven years too long, he thought. Seven years way too long. I missed you so much, baby.

Lightning could have sworn that Riku had changed in the past minute since she gave him permission. She didn't know what the change was, but she didn't focus on it. She hated being so conflicted. She wanted to hug him back, but she also wanted to slug him. But she didn't do either, only laying in Riku's arms. That was all she could do right now.
Riku held onto Lightning for another moment, fighting the urge to kiss her pink hair. Instead, he released her, pulling his arm back so she could move out of his hold. His minute was up, and that would be the only one he would get for a while. Or forever. It all depended on what Lightning wanted.

Light opened her eyes, and after a second, she did move away from him. She rolled over and sat upright on the edge of the bed, the young woman glancing over her shoulder at Riku. She thought about possibly asking about the watch while he was softer, but she didn't know if bringing it up was a good idea. Maybe it would be better for her to take it behind his back sometime. But she did have a question for him, about something else. Someone else.
Riku looked away from Lightning, rolling over and pushing himself up from the bed. He pulled at the bottom of his shirt, knowing that it was time for him to go. This was awkward on multiple levels, so maybe it was best to just go. He started for the door, not looking back to gaze at his beloved.
