Forever Starts Now (1x1 RP with Forever Love)

Posted

A friend and I have been doing a RP for a while now, and it has been scattered across several threads on two different sites. It started as a group story (about fast food of all things xP) but then it transformed into something else entirely.

We request that nobody join in this RP or post anything on this thread; if you wanna say how awesome we are, message us some other way. :)

Um...You're free to read this for fun if you want to, but this thread has major Birth By Sleep spoilers. And since we've been doing this for a while, we will probably refer to things we've done in the past and you will have no idea what we're talking about. So if you want to save yourself from confusion, then you probably wanna stay away. If not, hey, whatever.

The plot was discussed and posted on another website, but here's a quick summary of the whole thing: It's the return of Xehanort.

Characters:

Peanut: Sora, Namine, Leon, Aerith, King Mickey, Terra, Ventus, Xehanort, etc.

Forever Love: Riku, Kairi, Roxas, Yuffie, Aqua, Vanitus, Tron, etc.

I believe I've said everything that needs to be said...Forever Love, let's get this show on the road, eh? :)

Light shut her eyes for a few seconds, feeling more tears slip out the corners and make her pink hair wet. Riku may have had seven years to cope with what happened on Gran Pulse, but he only had a day to cope with how he saved her. Both of them were messed up in so many ways...Claire and her Riku.
"I wanted so much with you, Light," Riku admitted, referring to a life with marriage and a family. He opened his eyes to look at her, even if she wasn't looking back. "But it all slipped through my fingers the minute you were gone. Nothing was the same..." He shook his head, loosening his grasp on her wrists even more. "I love you...and I want to protect you and make you happy. But I can't have both. I've tried keeping you safe, but you want nothing more than to leave...because you're unhappy." Lightning was unhappy with Riku, which was devastating. "I'm so sorry, baby. All I want is to set things right. I want to see you smile again."

Baby. He just called me baby. Lightning started crying like one at the pet name, her body trembling a little with the sobs. You...You are my Riku... She opened her wet blue eyes and looked up at him, feeling her hair sticking to her face because of the tears she had already shed. She wanted to smile too, but her question from yesterday still remained. How am I supposed to live when I feel so dead inside?
Riku took his hands back completely, instead setting them on the bed as he continued to hover over Lightning. "I made a mistake, making you let them go. I was panicking and I..." He glanced away before closing his eyes. "...They should have lived. Snow, Hope, Sazh...and Dahj and Serah. They should have lived, but they're gone because of me." His eyebrows furrowed, his eyes burning with unshed tears as he kept his eyes closed. "I'll do whatever it takes to set things right. To get them back...and to make you happy, baby. Nothing else matters." He opened his eyes to look at her, feeling nothing but regret and sorrow, and anger at himself. How could I be so stupid...so selfish?

Light swallowed and then exhaled and inhaled shaky breaths, still crying. She didn't know if she had ever cried so hard in her life. She just knew that Riku was sincere. And how could she leave him when he was like this, promising to make everything better? He was sounding more like the Riku she knew now...the Riku she loved. Despite his mistakes. But...could she really condone murder...?
Riku gazed at the woman before him, not recalling a time when he saw her so emotional, so upset. And because of me... "I want to right my wrongs," he told her gently. "I want to take it all back, everything. If there's a way to get them back, I'll do it. They are the ones that deserve to live." Someone as selfish as me...not so much.

"Would you just shut up already?" Lightning whispered hoarsely, her breathing disrupting her sentence so it sounded very choked up. She didn't want Riku implying that he didn't deserve to live. He made a mistake, one that they could hopefully remedy. Even without the watch, she couldn't believe her friends were gone completely. She'd find another way.
Riku blinked at the question, though the way it was spoken nearly broke his heart. "But...but I..." he started, still hovering over Lightning as he looked down at her. He was just trying to make things better. Any way that he could. If that meant a sacrifice, where Claire got her family back, he would do it. Anything for her.

Lightning shook her head, leaning up and wrapping her arms around Riku's back as he still hovered over the bed. Just shut up and hold me. You've said enough. Yes, he was a jerk. Yes, he betrayed her. But...She loved him. Her Riku was back again. And while she was holding herself up, a charm that was previously tucked inside Riku's shirt came out. Her necklace.
Riku felt the pendant leave its hiding spot from underneath the collar of his shirt, the man still holding himself up as he looked down at it. It hung right in Lightning's face, right where she could see it. After all these years...he kept it. He said he would give it to her when she came back, but she never did...

Light's eyes went to the pendant that was right in her face, and she felt the moisture in her eyes increase. She used her strength and pulled her torso up so she was against Riku, her head on his shoulder and her hair dangling behind her. Riku...I missed you... And she knew he missed her too. The necklace proved it.
Riku closed his eyes, slowly lifting one hand to wrap around Lightning's upper back as he lowered himself more to the mattress. He made sure not to crush Lightning with his weight, using the other arm to keep some of his weight off of her as he nuzzled his face into her damp hair. "I'm sorry..." he said again, unable to help himself. He just missed her so much. He got desperate.

Lightning nodded faintly against Riku's hair, her arms staying around him but loosening since her back was on the mattress again. She was forcing herself to calm down now, since she hated crying. Even if she had reason to be emotional, she didn't often take those opportunities. Snow had given her one of those, when they were fighting on Gran Pulse. But she didn't accept his comfort much, and she wished she would have.
Riku didn't say anything more, keeping his mouth shut as he took in the feeling of being this close to Lightning. An hour ago, when he was like this with her in her bed, he thought it would be the only time he got the privelege. But...now he had it too. Gosh, I missed you, Claire.

Light shut her eyes, unaware that somebody was peeking around the doorway to see Riku holding her. It was Terrian, of course, since Sora was wise enough to duck out as soon as Riku plopped Lightning down on the bed. The soldier didn't notice it though, just letting her body become less tense as Riku held her.
Riku didn't notice a presence, too focused on Lightning. The feeling of her in his arms again, for real this time... It was magical. He couldn't have imagined anything greater at that moment. He nuzzled his face even more into her hair, exhaling a soft breath. I love you, he wanted to say, but he already said enough. He was sure it was a given by now.

Lightning peeked her eyes open, catching the sun just streaming in through her window now. They had woken up early...much too early for somebody who hadn't gotten a decent night's rest in about a month. She was exhausted, but she couldn't sleep in a position like this; it wouldn't be comfortable for too long.
Riku took in a breath, inhaling the familiar scent of the woman he held. She was unique in more ways than one, and he wouldn't have it any other way. He would make sure to get her back to where she belonged. It wasn't with him, at least not in this time period. She needed to go back to the past, and he would help her.

Maybe I don't need to get used to this position, but I do need to get used to this time period, Lightning thought weakly. Riku destroyed the watch, the one way to travel back through time. There was no telling how long she'd be in this future...trapped away from the place where she really belonged. But if she belonged in Riku's arms, then she was in the right place.
Riku pulled his head back, meaning to look at Lightning. He wanted to be with her, so badly right now. But...he had to make up for training today with Terrian and meet everyone for breakfast... It would be awkward, but he would deal with it. For Lightning.

Light's head turned a little when Riku's moved, mostly because she was starting to doze off. She was hungry, though, since she only had a few bites at dinner last night. But she wouldn't go down for breakfast, not when she was a mess like she was right now. She'd sleep and ignore her hunger, if she could.
Riku saw how tired Lightning looked when he pulled back to see her face, and he felt like his old self again. Like nineteen year-old Riku. "I should let you get some sleep," he said softly. He probably didn't help much with the stress lately, which in turn led to exhaustion. Lightning needed to rest.

Claire hummed softly, opening her eyes and looking up at Riku. She almost asked if he would stay with her, since it was probably only 6:30 in the morning, but she wouldn't keep him if he had other things to do. She had a feeling that she wouldn't have been able to recognize his presence in her sleep anyway, since she'd be out so cold.
"I'll come check on you later, okay?" Riku said, pushing himself up a little more so he could clearly see Lightning. He started taking his arm away from her back, knowing that she needed to actually get up on the bed to sleep properly. He would leave her be until after breakfast and an early-morning session with Terrian.

Light hummed again, nodding faintly against the bed. Okay. She would see Riku then, if she was awake. And hopefully it would be just him and not his snooping apprentice, who silently walked away when Riku implied that he was going to leave. She hadn't noticed, but if she had, she would have been upset. More than she already was.
