Forever Starts Now (1x1 RP with Forever Love)

Posted

A friend and I have been doing a RP for a while now, and it has been scattered across several threads on two different sites. It started as a group story (about fast food of all things xP) but then it transformed into something else entirely.

We request that nobody join in this RP or post anything on this thread; if you wanna say how awesome we are, message us some other way. :)

Um...You're free to read this for fun if you want to, but this thread has major Birth By Sleep spoilers. And since we've been doing this for a while, we will probably refer to things we've done in the past and you will have no idea what we're talking about. So if you want to save yourself from confusion, then you probably wanna stay away. If not, hey, whatever.

The plot was discussed and posted on another website, but here's a quick summary of the whole thing: It's the return of Xehanort.

Characters:

Peanut: Sora, Namine, Leon, Aerith, King Mickey, Terra, Ventus, Xehanort, etc.

Forever Love: Riku, Kairi, Roxas, Yuffie, Aqua, Vanitus, Tron, etc.

I believe I've said everything that needs to be said...Forever Love, let's get this show on the road, eh? :)

Riku grunted painfully in his sleep, recalling in his nightmare of the scene that changed his life completely. He ran over to the woman he loved, holding her in his arms as he begged for her to wake up. It was after checking her pulse that he knew she was gone. He didn't know how and he didn't know why, but his beloved was dead. For good. His heart felt like it was breaking all over again. He lost her countless times before with this dream, and it grew more and more painful every time.

Lightning heard the soft grunt, but she didn't connect the dots and figure out that Riku was having a nightmare like she had earlier that night. She folded her arms over her chest and exhaled a soft breath through her nose as she leaned her head back against the sofa. Time to go back to sleep, and stay close to the man she loved. The man who wasn't responsible for the deaths of her family.
Riku's nightmare was enough of a recollection for the young man. He was living it out again, crying out in protest to seeing his love lifeless in his arms. Shock washed over him, and as he started to cry in his dream, a whine escaped him as his hand twitched. His Light was gone.

Lightning heard the whine behind her, and she finally realized that Riku was having a nightmare. She looked over at the arm next to her as she gripped Riku's hand, her other hand lifting to sit on his arm. Whatever was wrong, she wanted to make it go away. She hated to see Riku suffering, even if she wasn't quite alright herself because of the consequences of his actions. She still loved him.
Riku didn't know who was touching him, but it was enough for him to tightly grip the hand in his. His nightmare only continued, his eyebrows furrowing as he lived it all over again. He refused to fight after losing her, and when the Maker was unstoppable, his friends tried to get him to move. He wouldn't; he couldn't leave her, and he only held her lifeless body to his chest as he cried. No one could make him leave her... He couldn't do it.

Light started running her hand over Riku's arm, her head also tilting to the side as she leaned the side of her face against it. She closed her eyes again and hoped that she could help him somehow, like he had helped her. She did appreciate him saving her life, even if she didn't approve of his methods. But he wasn't responsible for the deaths of her friends; he would, though, be responsible for saving them.
Riku felt his nightmare begin to melt away at the continuous touch. His grip slowly started to loosen as well, the awful reality of the dream disappearing. He opened his eyes slowly at first, recognizing that the fire he lit in the fireplace must have gone out over the last few hours. In the darkness, however, he noticed that someone was with him, holding his hand and rubbing his arm. "...Light?" he mumbled tiredly. Was she really here, or was he hallucinating?

Light hummed softly to Riku, keeping her hand still on his arm once he was awake. She was glad in a way that he woke up, since he had clearly been experiencing a nightmare. How weird was it that both of them had nightmares the same night? She wondered what his was, but she wasn't about to ask. She didn't care if he knew about hers, because it wasn't true. He didn't kill her loved ones.
Riku closed his eyes again, releasing a breath. "Thank goodness," he said softly. She was alive, thanks to him creating that watch. Maybe the fact that he was out looking for another one only reminded him of why he created it in the first place, and that was why he had the nightmare. Regardless, he was glad it was over now.

Light heard Riku's words that he spoke into his pillow, and she felt the corner of her lips turn up briefly before the smile went away. There wasn't much reason to smile right now, even if she was alive and with Riku. She kept the side of her head against Riku's arm, eyes remaining shut since she was comfortable. After her nightmare, she didn't really want to go away from him.
Riku relaxed, though he did run his thumb over Lightning's hand. He didn't know why she was down here, but he wasn't about to argue against it. She was with him, and that was all he could ask for.
  • Author
"You had a nightmare too, huh?" Lightning whispered after a few seconds of Riku running his thumb over her hand. That must have been it, because what else would cause Riku to whine in his sleep? She wondered if he experienced nightmares often, but she wouldn't ask that. It could lead to some sensitive stuff that was probably better left unsaid.
"Mm," Riku hummed, keeping his eyes closed as he continued to relax. By the way she worded it, he could assume that Lightning had a nightmare as well. It was quite a coincidence, that was for sure. Rough night.

Light nodded faintly against Riku's arm, her hand sliding across his skin until it was also holding his hand. She was still tired, but she was pretty sure she wouldn't fall asleep anytime soon. And Riku was probably the same, so maybe she'd just stay with him for a while. If that was okay.
Riku opened his eyes after a moment, gazing at the woman he loved. "...Sorry," he said softly, apologizing consciously for the nightmare, though he could have been apologizing for other things as well. He just felt the need to say it.
  • Author
"What for?" Light asked softly, not understanding where that came from. Riku already apologized for what happened on Gran Pulse, and for his treatment of her since he saved her life. She didn't know what else he could have been sorry about, but she supposed that she would figure it out when he told her.
"Your nightmare," Riku said softly, gazing at Light even if she wasn't looking back. "They suck." He would know. He'd had them on and off for the last seven years. And yet he still got them, even when she was with him? Whatever the case, Riku didn't like it one bit.

Lightning "hmphed" in agreement, opening her eyes as she looked at the ground. "Yes they do," she agreed softly. They were terrible, and hers was still haunting her even if she knew that the nightmare was incorrect. She witness Riku violently kill her family. But he didn't kill them; the Maker did. That was what she had to believe.
Riku gazed at Lightning in silence for a few moments, just looking at her. He wondered what her nightmare was about, but since she wasn't mentioning it, it was obviously pretty bad. He was curious as to if it rivaled his own. "...You okay?" he asked softly.

Light smiled dryly, though she was far from happy. "My family's dead, Riku," she said softly. "I won't be okay for a long, long time." Even if they were able to save them, she would be clingy to them for a while. Lightning, the tough, stoic, unemotional soldier would hold onto her loved ones tightly and be vulnerable for once.
Riku didn't know how to respond to that, so he didn't say anything at all. Instead, he gazed down at her hand in his. Right...That was his fault. He would make things right as soon as he could, but he needed time. She had to at least give him that...
  • Author
"But that's not your fault," Light said softly after a few moments of silence. Riku said earlier that he killed her family, but he didn't. ...As much as she hated to admit it, they would have died anyway. And now that Lightning was alive, she and Riku could work together to save them. Hopefully. Even if they couldn't...This wasn't Riku's fault. It was the Maker's.
"...What do you mean?" Riku asked in confusion. For the past few days, it had been no one's fault but his own. Lightning agreed to that, and even cried when he admitted to it. She knew it was his fault, so why was she saying that?
  • Author
"The Maker killed them, not you," Lightning said softly, tightening her grip on Riku's hand. And because of that truth, she could now be with him without feeling guilty. Riku wasn't a murderer; he never would be in her eyes. She wasn't one just to tune out any truth she didn't like, not anymore. If she said Riku didn't kill her family, then he didn't.
Riku stared at Lightning, wondering what it was that changed her mind. "How'd you come to that conclusion?" he asked gently, running his thumb over her hand again. She didn't blame him?
