Forever Starts Now (1x1 RP with Forever Love)

Posted

A friend and I have been doing a RP for a while now, and it has been scattered across several threads on two different sites. It started as a group story (about fast food of all things xP) but then it transformed into something else entirely.

We request that nobody join in this RP or post anything on this thread; if you wanna say how awesome we are, message us some other way. :)

Um...You're free to read this for fun if you want to, but this thread has major Birth By Sleep spoilers. And since we've been doing this for a while, we will probably refer to things we've done in the past and you will have no idea what we're talking about. So if you want to save yourself from confusion, then you probably wanna stay away. If not, hey, whatever.

The plot was discussed and posted on another website, but here's a quick summary of the whole thing: It's the return of Xehanort.

Characters:

Peanut: Sora, Namine, Leon, Aerith, King Mickey, Terra, Ventus, Xehanort, etc.

Forever Love: Riku, Kairi, Roxas, Yuffie, Aqua, Vanitus, Tron, etc.

I believe I've said everything that needs to be said...Forever Love, let's get this show on the road, eh? :)

Kairi's smile faded, and she turned around, following behind Sora in silence. Her hands were no longer linked behind her back, instead by her sides. She could only hear their soft footsteps in the sand, and the waves, a silence between them, just like many others.

A few days later...

Sora sat on the Papou tree, staring out at sea. It was early in the afternoon, and he was by himself for the time being. A day after they sent out the letter to Master Yen Sid, they got back a response saying that there was no way that he knew of for Sora to get back his Keyblade. And then Riku sent out a letter to the King, and yesterday they got a card back. Same response. Sora couldn't help but dwell on that, since those two wise people couldn't help. Maybe...he couldn't get it back after all. And if that was the case, then he had to accept it.

Riku stepped off the roof of the shack, onto a small bit of land. He then walked forward, onto the bridge that connected to the islet. He knew Sora was there, and he thought that he could use a friend. The last few days had been hard, really, and even Riku couldn't find a place to accept that there was no way for Sora to get the Keyblade back. But...there wasn't an answer.

I've done a lot of good with the Keyblade, Sora thought, keeping his gaze forward. I guess that stage of my life is over, at least for now. He didn't like admitting such a thing, but he had to accept reality. He couldn't live his life wasting away and waiting for something that could never happen. He had to move on.
Riku had his hands in his pockets, the older boy glancing at the back of his friend's head as he got closer. He couldn't accept the fact that there wasn't a way for Sora to get the Keyblade back; he had too much heart not to have it, which was what was so confusing.

Sora had one idea on how to move on, and hopefully he would be able to talk to Riku about it today. He expected that he would come to the island sometime today, since that was where they had been hanging out lately. Until that time, Sora would sit and wait and contemplate what the rest of his life would look like.
"Hey," Riku called, starting to descend the small decline to the islet. His eyes were on Sora, who he expected to greet him back as well. Even if Sora was down lately, he never lost his polite manners. That was something Riku wouldn't have done, since he was a bit moody and tempermental.

Sora automatically hummed in surprise at the call, and he turned his head to look at the source. "Hey," he greeted back, nodding slightly at Riku. That was good timing; now he could ask Riku for a favor. But how would Riku take it, since he was asking because he felt like the Keyblade wasn't coming back? Riku was still hopeful, after all.
"Been here awhile?" Riku asked, coming to a stop near the tree, lightly setting a hand on the curbed trunk. His eyes were still on Sora as he asked the question, curious. Sora was always out here these days, which was why he expected to find him here.

"Yeah," Sora confirmed with a nod. At least, it felt like a while to him. He had actually slept in late this morning, the nightmares leaving him alone last night. He felt like he knew why that was: It was because he was accepting that he had to live his life without the Keyblade. He was moving forward.
Riku hummed in response, nodding a little before turning his head to look out at the view. He couldn't blame Sora; this place was nice...and a good area to think in peace. And he had an idea of what Sora was thinking about when he was by himself; Riku couldn't get it off his mind either...

"I've been thinking," Sora said then, getting right to the matter at hand. "It doesn't seem like I'm going to get the Keyblade back." Not with how things were now, anyway. There were no answers, no guidance to help him earn the Keyblade again. It was sad, but that was how things were.
Riku frowned slightly at that, but he didn't say anything. Instead, he stayed silent that way Sora could continue. There had to be more to say than that.
  • Author
"So, it's time to move on and stop focusing on something that could never happen," Sora said, turning and looked at Riku a few feet away. He couldn't waste his life waiting; if the Keyblade still had any faith in him, it wouldn't want him being miserable. He had to move on.
"...Move on to what?" Riku asked, lowering his gaze to the ground. He couldn't really imagine Sora having a life without the Keyblade; that had been all he'd known for a while now. Things were different now, he supposed. Maybe he would have to move on too?
  • Author
Sora didn't know exactly how to answer that question, so he asked one of his own that was semi-related. "You mind teaching me hand-to-hand combat?" he asked. If he ever was in a tight spot, he needed the ability to defend himself.
Riku turned his head at the question, arching an eyebrow. "Huh?" he said without thought. Hand-to-hand combat? Where did that request come from?
  • Author
"Well," Sora started, having expected Riku to question where this was coming from, "If I'm ever in a bad situation, I need to know how to defend myself." Obviously he couldn't use the Keyblade to help him anymore, so he had to depend on his own strength and combat knowledge. Without a sword, he didn't know much about fighting.
Riku thought about Sora's words, and after a moment he nodded. "Makes sense," he said along with his gesture. If trouble ever aroused, he would rather Sora be able to take care of himself while without a weapon. Though, he wouldn't really be without one. His would be his fists.
  • Author
"Okay," Sora said, setting his hands on the tree and pushing himself off. He landed on the ground and turned to Riku, wanting to get started right away. Riku would be a good teacher; he taught him a lot with sword fighting, and now he would do the same with hand-to-hand.
Riku took his hand off the trunk of the tree, still facing Sora. "What all do you wanna know?" he asked, shrugging a little along with the question. He wasn't too trained in the art himself, but he knew a good amount of it. He had to go without a Keyblade for a little while...until he was with Maleficent in the past. He had to pretty much train himself.
  • Author
"Whatever," Sora responded with a light shrug. He really couldn't pick one topic, since he knew so little about this kind of fighting. So Riku would have to pick and choose what to teach him.
Riku shrugged his shoulder again. "Alright then," he said, lifting up his left arm. He unbuckled his armor from around his forearm, knowing that it would bring extra weight and slow his own training movements down. He set it on the tree before walking a few feet away, moving to stand in the middle of the islet.

Sora caught onto what Riku was doing, and he thought it was a smart idea. He unstrapped his armor from his shoulder and set it by Riku's before he went towards the center of the islet as well. He stopped a few feet away, eyes on Riku as he waited for him to begin teaching him.
Riku faced Sora, and he held up a finger. "First lesson: stance," he began. "Set your feet shoulder-width apart and have your arms ready." He demonstrated, separating his feet and bringing his arms up with fists. "Hands up."
