Forever Starts Now (1x1 RP with Forever Love)

Posted

A friend and I have been doing a RP for a while now, and it has been scattered across several threads on two different sites. It started as a group story (about fast food of all things xP) but then it transformed into something else entirely.

We request that nobody join in this RP or post anything on this thread; if you wanna say how awesome we are, message us some other way. :)

Um...You're free to read this for fun if you want to, but this thread has major Birth By Sleep spoilers. And since we've been doing this for a while, we will probably refer to things we've done in the past and you will have no idea what we're talking about. So if you want to save yourself from confusion, then you probably wanna stay away. If not, hey, whatever.

The plot was discussed and posted on another website, but here's a quick summary of the whole thing: It's the return of Xehanort.

Characters:

Peanut: Sora, Namine, Leon, Aerith, King Mickey, Terra, Ventus, Xehanort, etc.

Forever Love: Riku, Kairi, Roxas, Yuffie, Aqua, Vanitus, Tron, etc.

I believe I've said everything that needs to be said...Forever Love, let's get this show on the road, eh? :)

"Riku," Lightning snapped, hearing how Riku was so calm about this. He must have had more faith in Namine than she did. This really had nothing to do with Light's faith in Namine, though. This had to do with her faith that everything would work out in the end. She was beginning to see that things weren't always alright in the end.
Riku sighed at her tone, closing his eyes as he kept his position. "...I love you," he told Lightning softly. "That's why I'm doing this. Your family's lives are more important than being with me right now. I should have realized that from the beginning." He pushed himself up from the bed, opening his eyes as he turned to look at her. "You need to go back to them, and you know it."

"I know what I need," Light said tightly, sitting herself up in bed so she was sitting in front of the pillows. Her eyes were open now, but she was glaring down at her lap. "But who says that's the way things are going to turn out?! Who says that this won't crash and burn? I can't lose you too!" She gritted her teeth, squeezing her eyes shut as her hands curled into fists. I can't...live without you.
Riku tensed at Lightning's words and tone, his eyes still resting on her. "Light..." he said softly. She was emotional and heartbroken, and knowing that tore at his heartstrings as well. There was a possibility he could lose parts of himself come tomorrow, but she could help him regain himself. Didn't she know that?

Claire shook her head, feeling moisture gathering behind her closed eyelids. "Just go," she said quietly, voice still tense. She wasn't going to break down in front of Riku. Even if that last thing that she wanted was for him to go...He had to.
Riku opened his mouth to speak, but nothing came out. He gazed at Lightning for another moment before he complied with her demand, turning and starting out of the room. He reached the door and stopped, glancing over his shoulder to look at the woman he loved. But, there was nothing left to say. He left the room then, starting down the hall and leaving her alone as she requested.

Lightning heard Riku leave the room, and once he did, she swore under her breath. Him walking away was so bittersweet. She laid back down in the bed and hid her face in the pillow, her breathing a little ragged as she held back tears. This was awful.

The next morning

Riku waited a while the night before to go back to his room, where he slept next to Lightning until dawn. It was then that he got up and showered, getting ready for the day's events. Namine was meeting him in the castle's laboratory, where they would be going through his memories. Lightning still wasn't happy about it, but he had some things to tell her before he actually went unconscious, for however long. He walked down the stairs, heading toward the lab to meet Namine. He was sure Lightning would be there, probably to try and stop him. It wouldn't work, since he had to do this. For her.

Lightning was already in the lab, and although she could feel Namine's gaze on her, she ignored it. She stared at the door with arms folded over her chest, waiting for Riku to arrive. She had left the bedroom when he was in the shower, and she tried talking Namine out of this. But the blonde wasn't swayed, though she did sympathize with Lightning. But that wasn't what the soldier wanted right now. She wanted this to not happen.
Riku walked down the corridor to the lab, approaching the door and walking in. His eyes immediately fell on Lightning, and he felt himself tense. I knew it, he thought silently. She was going to try and stop him, but it wasn't going to work. "Namine," he said then, looking over at his friend. "You ready?"

"Mm," Namine hummed with a small nod, shifting her gaze to Riku. She was nervous, naturally, especially since Lightning was so against this. But if this was truly the only way to set things right, she was willing to do her part. Lightning needed to go back where she belonged.
Riku nodded as well, glancing at Lightning before he started forward. There was a pod for the memory process, as he expected. The computer that Namine would use to sort through his mind was just next to it. He was slightly nervous, but he didn't show it. This was important to the past, and the future.

Lightning was standing closer to the pod than Riku was, so she had no problem stepping over a few steps. She stopped in front of it, her eyes hard as she stared at Riku. She knew it was childish to just stand in his way, but she didn't know what else to do. She didn't want him going through with this.
Riku stopped walking, a foot between him and Lightning. "...Babe," he said, the pet name leaving his lips naturally. She couldn't stand in the way like this; he was going through with this. It was their only option.

Light grunted, lowering her gaze to Riku's chest as she didn't respond. She wasn't moving; her feet were firmly planted on the ground. She didn't want to risk losing Riku, even if she did want to save her family desperately. She wanted to have both Riku and her family by her side, but it was growing hard to imagine a life like that when Riku was putting himself at risk right now.
Riku kept his eyes on Lightning. "Do you remember when you lost your memories, and I helped you recover them?" he asked softly. He didn't give her a chance to respond, however. "If something goes wrong, you can do the same for me." If she wanted to do that for him, if something went wrong, then he would be thankful. But Riku doubted something would go wrong; he trusted Namine and her abilities to get the job done.

Light furrowed her eyebrows slightly, keeping her gaze on Riku's chest. She remembered when she lost her memories, and how horrific it was to try to recover them. It was possible, but she still didn't want Riku going through this for her. And what if she couldn't bring him back?
Riku didn't get a response, but it didn't matter. He stepped forward and placed his hands lightly on Lightning's upper arms. He leaned forward and placed a gentle kiss on her forehead. After holding the position for a second, he pulled back. "It's okay," he told her softly. He lowered his arms to his sides and gazed at Lightning for one more moment before nodding to Namine. He was ready.

Namine nodded faintly, standing a few feet away from the couple. "Go ahead and get in," she said softly. "I'll start right away." She noticed that Lightning still didn't move even though she was in the way, but she did unfold her arms and look up at Riku.
"Mm," Riku hummed, his eyes leaving Namine to find Lightning. She hadn't moved, but at least she was looking at him now. It won't take long, he thought, knowing she could probably read it in his eyes. Namine would do fine, and he would come out the same.

After a second, the soldier nodded ever so slightly. Lightning knew that she couldn't talk Riku out of this, so it was best to get it over with. But... She took a small step forward and wrapped her arms around Riku, not in a way to keep him there, but to embrace him one more time in case anything happened. I love you.
Riku looked down at Lightning in slight surprise, though he did wrap his arms around her. He kissed her head of pink hair and gently squeezed her. He was a little nervous, since things could go wrong. But there was no other way.

Light kept her arms around Riku for a few more seconds before she lifted her head slightly and kissed his jaw. She was a little irked he was going through with this despite her approval, but she still loved him. She was just really, really worried about him. After a second, she took back her arms so she could get out of Riku's way. It was time.
Riku released Lightning and looked at her one last time. See you soon, he thought silently. He could only hope this would be over soon, since he wanted Lightning to be happy again. It was about time that happened.

Lightning looked up at Riku for a few seconds before she stepped over to the side so that he could go inside the pod. She hated this situation...so much. But she'd stay with Riku if she could. If Namine needed complete focus to work, though, then she would have to leave for Riku's safety.
