Forever Starts Now (1x1 RP with Forever Love)

Posted

A friend and I have been doing a RP for a while now, and it has been scattered across several threads on two different sites. It started as a group story (about fast food of all things xP) but then it transformed into something else entirely.

We request that nobody join in this RP or post anything on this thread; if you wanna say how awesome we are, message us some other way. :)

Um...You're free to read this for fun if you want to, but this thread has major Birth By Sleep spoilers. And since we've been doing this for a while, we will probably refer to things we've done in the past and you will have no idea what we're talking about. So if you want to save yourself from confusion, then you probably wanna stay away. If not, hey, whatever.

The plot was discussed and posted on another website, but here's a quick summary of the whole thing: It's the return of Xehanort.

Characters:

Peanut: Sora, Namine, Leon, Aerith, King Mickey, Terra, Ventus, Xehanort, etc.

Forever Love: Riku, Kairi, Roxas, Yuffie, Aqua, Vanitus, Tron, etc.

I believe I've said everything that needs to be said...Forever Love, let's get this show on the road, eh? :)

Sora looked over Riku's stance and imitated it, lifting his arms and curling his hands into fists once his feet were apart. Simple enough. But he knew things would get much more complicated from here on out.
"Good," Riku said, though that was the easiest part of this whole training session. "Next, you need to keep your eye on your opponent at all times. Just like you do when holding a weapon, you need to watch every move they make. Got it?"

"Yeah," Sora said with a nod, staying in his stance when Riku stayed in his. That was simple enough, and it seemed like common sense to him after all the fighting he had done in his life.
Riku nodded. "Now, lesson three..." he trailed off, giving Sora a look. But that was when he moved in. Swift and fast, Riku took a step forward and turned, swinging his leg high to hit Sora in the shoulder if he ended up not blocking it.

Sora grunted in surprise, and he automatically rolled out of the way to avoid the attack. He stood upright on his feet again, arms lowered because he wasn't use to this way of fighting.
Riku smirked in approval, but that didn't slow him down. Seeing that Sora was unprepared, he was about to remind him to keep his hands up. Riku was close to Sora, so he simply threw his right arm forward, preparing to strike.

Sora saw Riku's fist, and his eyes automatically widened. He brought up both his arms and kept them together. He stumbled back a step when Riku's punch hit his arms, the force strong. He should have suspected Riku would try to teach him aggressively; it was just how he was. He believed people learned through experience.
Riku pulled his fist back, his smirk returning. "Good," he said with a nod. That was what he wanted him to do. "Lesson three: be prepared for anything and everything. Or have quick reflexes." He shrugged. "Seems like you've got at least one of those down."

Sora lowered his arms, ignoring how they were throbbing and listening to what Riku had to say. When he was done, he silently nodded. His reflexes were good, but he really did have to learn to expect the unexpected. That had always been a problem for him.
"One other thing I've learned," Riku continued, "is that the things you've heard about cheap tricks--they mean nothing. The person you're trying to fight off is trying to hurt you, or even worse, kill you." His eyebrows were furrowed in seriousness. "Even the cheap shots work. There's no disadvantage to fighting dirty."

"Got it," Sora said with a nod, seeing Riku's point. If he ever got into a bad situation, he had to do whatever it took to stay alive and unhurt.
Riku nodded as well, but then continued. "Another important thing to remember is to focus on being the attacker, not the defender," he instructed. He then turned around. "Come at me from behind." He would demonstrate.

Sora arched a brow, confused. "What, you mean punch you?" he asked, though he felt like it was a dumb question. Or was Riku trying to tell him to grab him?
"No," Riku called over his shoulder. "Grab my shoulder." One of the most helpful moves was one of the easiest. It just required a little bit of balance, strength, and speed.
  • Author
Sora shrugged slightly, taking a step forward and setting a hand on Riku's shoulder. Okay...? What was going to happen now?
Riku lifted his arm that was attached the shoulder Sora was grabbing, and he placed his hand tightly around Sora's wrist. He then grunted roughly, turning and at the same time pulling Sora forward. He then flipped him over his shoulder, his grip on his friend's wrist tight.

Sora's eyes had widened for the split second he was in the air, but he grunted and squeezed then shut when his back hit the ground. He forced them open after a second, eyebrows furrowed as he looked up at Riku. Ouch...
Riku saw Sora's eyes, but he only glanced at them before he lowered himself quickly to the ground. He pinned Sora to the floor by placing his knee to Sora's chest, positioning his arm so that it immobilized Sora, causing him a little pain.
  • Author
Sora winced slightly, but other than that, he remained composed. This was just a training session; he wasn't supposed to be in pain. Yes, he was sore and uncomfortable with Riku on top of him, but he knew this was still just the beginning of what would be a painful lesson. He looked up at Riku, composing himself and wiping the surprise off his face.
"Something important about this position," Riku started, "with one slight movement of my arm against yours, it can snap." He could see for a split second that Sora was in minor pain, and considering this guy was his best friend and this was only training, he wouldn't actually do that. He was just providing some information. "Focus on working your legs into an attack rather than struggling in this kind of situation."
  • Author
My legs? Sora thought, eyebrows furrowing. "How?" he asked, not sure on how to do that. How was he supposed to get out of his position with Riku pinning him so roughly?
"Focus your weight on your back and swing your legs backward," Riku explained, still keeping Sora in the same position. "If you do it right, you can wrap your legs around the person's neck and pull them down."
  • Author
"I'm guessing you don't want me to do that to you," Sora said, a slight smirk appearing on his face. It was the first time he smirked in a while, but he didn't think about it now. After all, he really did have a lot to learn, so he had to stay focused.
Riku only arched an eyebrow. "Go for it," he said. Practice makes perfect, after all. It would only make sense for Sora to try stuff out on him.
  • Author
Sora's smirk vanished, the teen surprised. Wasn't this a dangerous idea? He didn't really want to hurt Riku. But if he insisted...Sora focused on what Riku had told him to do and tried to swing his legs up. However, he only succeeded in kicking Riku in the back of the head.
