Forever Starts Now (1x1 RP with Forever Love)

Posted

A friend and I have been doing a RP for a while now, and it has been scattered across several threads on two different sites. It started as a group story (about fast food of all things xP) but then it transformed into something else entirely.

We request that nobody join in this RP or post anything on this thread; if you wanna say how awesome we are, message us some other way. :)

Um...You're free to read this for fun if you want to, but this thread has major Birth By Sleep spoilers. And since we've been doing this for a while, we will probably refer to things we've done in the past and you will have no idea what we're talking about. So if you want to save yourself from confusion, then you probably wanna stay away. If not, hey, whatever.

The plot was discussed and posted on another website, but here's a quick summary of the whole thing: It's the return of Xehanort.

Characters:

Peanut: Sora, Namine, Leon, Aerith, King Mickey, Terra, Ventus, Xehanort, etc.

Forever Love: Riku, Kairi, Roxas, Yuffie, Aqua, Vanitus, Tron, etc.

I believe I've said everything that needs to be said...Forever Love, let's get this show on the road, eh? :)

"Of course I don't want to stay," Lightning spat, still walking. "And of course I'm going to say 'no' to your ideas. You throw yourself in harm's way with every idea you come up with!" If he got hurt too badly, then she wouldn't gain her family back; she would just lose Riku.
"I'm not walking into this blind, Lightning," Riku retorted. "I'm trying to prepare myself, but you're shooting the idea down! What other suggestions do you have but to do nothing?" If they did nothing, she was stuck here, and he knew she didn't want that. She was miserable here with them.

"I 'suggest' you stop acting like your life is worth so little. First Namine, and now this! Are you eager to get hurt or something?" Light was ticked off, and scared, but the latter wasn't unusual for her these days. She knew things could end well, but what if they didn't? If they didn't, she lost everything. She couldn't handle any more people being sacrificed for her happiness and safety.
Riku's eyebrows furrowed at the question, and he continued to pursue Lightning, following her through the corridor. "Yes," he answered bravely. He was putting himself in the line of fire on purpose, though his ideas did mostly work that way.

Lightning stopped walking when Riku made that confession, and she turned around to face him in anger. "Idiot," she automatically said, glaring at Riku. How could he act like his safety didn't matter? He was worth everything to her. She was lost without him!
Riku walked a few more steps forward before stopping, a foot or two of space between him and Lightning. He shrugged, though his expression remained the same. "It's not like you haven't said that before," he said to the insult. So what if he was an idiot? He was trying to help the best he could.

"These days, you're proving that the name fits," Lightning said, turning and starting to walk away again. Riku was being so stupid! She hoped that an insult would make him stop and think about his actions, but he was shrugging her off once again. She was so sick of him not taking her seriously!
Riku closed his eyes when Lightning walked away, shaking his head for a second. "Is there any way we can come to an agreement on this?" he asked, opening his eyes and watching her go. Again. He hated fighting with her. It was like it was all they did lately, and he didn't want his younger self to remember just the negative things that happened here.

Light stopped walking again, looking over her shoulder at Riku. "As long as you're throwing yourself in harm's way, no," she said. She wouldn't agree to anything if there was the possibility of Riku getting hurt. She was stubborn, obviously. She was worse than ever now that she lost so much. She wanted to protect what she had.
"If I don't put myself at risk, you won't be going home," Riku pointed out. "You do know that, don't you?" She needed his help, and he was going to be the one that helped her survive when she went back. He was important in this too.

"No, I don't know that," Lightning spat, shaking her head. This couldn't be the solution that she was looking for earlier. There had to be some other path that she could take! She was willing to take any road that wouldn't put Riku in danger, even if she lost herself. She'd give into the Darkness if she had to, even if that was what took her family away in the first place. Whatever it takes.
Riku lowered his gaze, looking to the side as he stuffed his hands into his front pockets. If Lightning didn't know that yet, where had she been? And why was she shutting him out? He wanted to help her be happy again...

"Letting Namine inside your head was risky enough. We're not taking any more chances like that again. Period." That was all that Lightning had to say on the subject. One again, she started walking away, though she had a feeling Riku would either follow now or chase her as soon as she was out of sight. He never did leave her alone for too long.
"...Stop walking away," Riku said lowly, and a little sadly, as he closed his eyes. She always walked away from him, and he hated it. Couldn't she just talk to him? They were in love... That was how it was supposed to be.

"I will as soon as you start taking my words to heart," Lightning said. Riku couldn't just keep throwing himself in the line of fire. Maybe she was overreacting, but he knew how scared she was, and yet he kept doing stuff like this! The worry had as much a chance to kill her off as the Maker did at this rate; she was terrified all the time over Riku.
Riku didn't say anything, not at first. All he could do was reflect on what Lightning just said. He did take a lot of what she said to heart, though he had to admit that he was neglecting her fears. He was scared too, now that he realized it. "...Lightning?" he called softly, opening his eyes to stare at the ground.

Lightning heard the difference in Riku's tone when he called her name, and she closed her eyes because of it. She slowed her steps until she stopped, her back to Riku as her head was lowered. She wished she had the resolve to stay firm and walk away like she said she would, but she couldn't. Not now, when she needed him.
Riku caught the silence, Lightning no longer walking away. "...I'm scared too," he admitted then, lifting his eyes to glance up at her before looking to the side. He was being honest; he tried covering everything up by acting like it was no big deal that he was going against a Fal'Cie as strong as the Maker, but it was. This was a big deal, life or death.

Lightning lifted a hand to cover her eyes upon hearing the comment, surprised at the moisture that suddenly appeared. Riku was finally hearing her. The unspoken words that she was trying to communicate all the time were heard by him, because he was scared too. He understood her concerns...and sympathized.
Riku didn't say anything after that, just feeling the tension in the air now that Lightning wasn't talking either. But what could he say after that? He couldn't really think of anything, not without sounding like a hopeless sap. All he wanted was to be strong for her; he wanted her to confide in him and know that he was there to support her. He was trying, really hard.

"...You're finally listening?" Lightning said softly, though she knew the answer. Riku was listening to all the unspoken words, the things that were conveyed in her eyes and her actions. He was scared, but she was terrified. He probably couldn't completely sympathize with that; he never lost anybody except for in that future that only Light could remember. He had clung to her after losing everyone, like she was doing now.
Riku nodded slightly, even if he didn't feel Lightning's gaze on him. "...I'm trying," he said, being honest. He was listening to her, and he would try to catch what wasn't clearly said. Lightning was his life these days, and he just wanted her to be happy. He wasn't the only person that made her happy; he couldn't by himself. She needed her family most.

"...That's all I can ask," Light whispered softly. She couldn't ask Riku to pick up everything, because she knew that she wasn't an open book. She was wearing a mask to cover a lot of things up, even concerning him. But her eyes couldn't lie. Not to Riku; not to anybody.
Riku lifted his eyes to look at the back of Lightning's head, not saying anything after that. He wanted to listen to her completely, and he would try, but he didn't know how far he would get. He was set on her living again, and not sulking. It was important to him that her family was with her again.

Light shook her head softly, lowering her hand from her eyes so that it was down by her side. I'm dying here, Riku, she wanted to say. She was dying, slowly but surely. Every day she was away from her family, the ache got worse. She felt like she was losing herself, because they all held a piece of her and they were lost at least for now.
