Forever Starts Now (1x1 RP with Forever Love)

Posted

A friend and I have been doing a RP for a while now, and it has been scattered across several threads on two different sites. It started as a group story (about fast food of all things xP) but then it transformed into something else entirely.

We request that nobody join in this RP or post anything on this thread; if you wanna say how awesome we are, message us some other way. :)

Um...You're free to read this for fun if you want to, but this thread has major Birth By Sleep spoilers. And since we've been doing this for a while, we will probably refer to things we've done in the past and you will have no idea what we're talking about. So if you want to save yourself from confusion, then you probably wanna stay away. If not, hey, whatever.

The plot was discussed and posted on another website, but here's a quick summary of the whole thing: It's the return of Xehanort.

Characters:

Peanut: Sora, Namine, Leon, Aerith, King Mickey, Terra, Ventus, Xehanort, etc.

Forever Love: Riku, Kairi, Roxas, Yuffie, Aqua, Vanitus, Tron, etc.

I believe I've said everything that needs to be said...Forever Love, let's get this show on the road, eh? :)

Riku's eyebrows furrowed slightly, hating the tension of the silence; he decided to break it. "Will you help me get you home?" he asked softly. It was important to both of them, but they needed to cooperate with one another and not fight. That was only making things harder.

Light kept her eyes shut, sighing a few moments after Riku's question. She felt her shoulders slump in defeat as she nodded faintly. She'd help; what other choice did she have? She couldn't live like this anymore. It would be the death of her.
Riku lifted his hands out of his pockets, walking the distance between him and Lightning. He stopped behind her, wrapping his arms around her upper torso. Because she was so small compared to him, he rested his hands on both of his arms and pressed his chest to her back, leaning his head against the side of hers as he held her close. Just for a minute, he wanted this. Then they could get to work.

Lightning lifted her lowered head and leaned the side of it against Riku's, feeling his warm chest against her back. She wished that sensation would never go away, because it was that warmth that reminded her that she was alive, not dead. Riku was extremely important to her, and if she lost him, then she lost herself.
Riku closed his eyes, exhaling a soft breath. He would enjoy this while he could, and this may have been one of the last times he was with Lightning like this. At least in this time period.

"...You know I'm only like this because I love you," Light said softly without moving. That was why she was so nervous and scared for him all the time. He hadn't lost his closest family, so maybe he couldn't understand completely why she clung to him so much. But...at least he seemed to understand a little bit more now.
"Mm," Riku hummed softly, nuzzling the side of his face against Lightning's soft pink hair. Yeah, he knew. And he loved her too, which was why he always wanted to put himself in the line of fire for her safety or well-being. Now was an example of that, and a time of need.

Lightning sighed softly after a few moments, lifting one of her hands. She set it on one of Riku's arms over her chest, her eyes staying shut as she lowered her head a little bit. She wished that she could feel at peace for once, but she couldn't, not while knowing what was in store for Riku. And what she would have to do to help him.
Riku took in a breath before opening his eyes. After this, he would have to tell the others the plan. His plan, anyway. He wasn't sure what Lightning had in mind, but Sora and Kairi were at least in on his plan.

Light felt sick to her stomach at the thought of sending her strongest attack at Riku, and she leaned back into him a little more since she knew he wouldn't drop her. She hoped Riku knew what he was getting himself into; if his shields failed when everyone attacked...his life was over.
"...Can we help each other?" Riku asked softly, his eyes on the ground in front of Lightning. "I'll help you get home, and you help me get stronger." That was what he was suggesting. It was all they could do now; they had no other options.

Light opened her eyes and looked down at the ground, keeping her hand on Riku's arm. "Sure," she said softly. What other choice do we have? Whether she liked it or not, Riku's plan was the only idea they had right now. Until something better came along, they'd have to get him stronger.
Riku turned his head, kissing Lightning's pink head of hair before pulling back. Thank you, he thought silently. While they worked on his plan, maybe they could think of something else. At least they would be making some progress this way.

Light hummed softly at the kiss, her thumb briefly running over the skin on Riku's arm. She had to start changing her mentality; maybe hope wasn't completely gone. She always used to search for hope, even if she couldn't find it. But she gave up, at least temporarily, because of the grief. She was ready to search again, and she would find the hope she sought. She wouldn't stop fighting for her family as long as she had a grasp on hope, however small that hope was.

One week later

Riku stood in the training room opposite his friends, all of them lined up to help him strengthen his barriers. For the past week it was all they had been working on, and he was making progress. But this was the ultimate test; if he couldn't handle this, they were in trouble. He held his Keyblade in his hand, tightening his grip on it briefly before loosening it. "Alright," he said after taking a deep breath, opening his eyes. "Ready." Everyone would fire attacks at the same time, and he would have to make a barrier large enough and strong enough to not only block them, but also reflect them. Now or never.

Hallie nodded faintly at Master Riku's words, and she looked down the line to see all the apprentices and Masters ready to do the same thing that they had been doing for the past week: giving Riku their strongest attacks. But this was the first time that they were all shooting at once, so it was a little nerve wracking. Regardless, she gripped her Keyblade and closed her eyes in focus, calling upon one of her most powerful spells as everyone else did the same. Shooting stars, she thought mentally, sending her special magic attack at Master Riku as other spells also sped towards him.

Kairi's eyebrows furrowed as she focused, and she twirled her Keyblade before grunting, releasing a beam of Light and firing it at Riku. She heard other people release their strongest attacks as well, all of them soaring toward her friend at once. C'mon, Riku.

Riku's eyes darted over all of the attacks in seconds, and he thrusted his Keyblade up in front of him to create a shield. It blocked fire, blizzard, and other attacks only a few feet before they reached him. His eyes narrowed at the impact, the young man feeling his feet slide slightly along the floor from the force. But he held his ground. He had to.

Light lowered her gunblade once her lightning attack was sent at Riku, and even if she had seen him set up his barrier before, she tensed when he allowed the attacks to get so close to him before he blocked them. She noticed his feet sliding back, and she felt sick to her stomach with the worry that threatened to overwhelm her. Don't you dare let this hurt you...
Riku ground his teeth together, multiple colors flashing in front of him from all of the attacks. He squeezed his eyes closed and fought against the pressure as much as he could. C'mon, he encouraged himself. He had to send the attacks back!
  • Author
"C'mon, Riku!" Lightning couldn't help but cry, hoping that would be encouragement enough for him to find the strength to at least absorb the attack. If he couldn't reflect it, then that was okay. She just couldn't stand by and watch him get hurt by an attack she threw at him.
Riku heard the call, and he grunted roughly as he fought the pressure. This was important; he had to be able to at least handle the Maker's beam. If he could do that, Lightning could be saved, along with other innocent lives. The thought of the beast killing his beloved infuriated him, and he pushed against the spells' force even more. He wasn't about to let the Maker get his way again, not when they went back.

"C'mon!" Lightning cried again, tightening her grip on her gunblade when she noticed Riku pushing the spells further away. She was shocked at how strong the barrier was now, even if Riku had been proving himself and his barriers all week. Maybe this was possible after all. Maybe he could defeat the Maker.
Kairi watched Riku with focused eyes, hearing Lightning's cries of encouragement as well. Another few seconds passed, and she took a small step back. "He's gonna do it..." she said, sure that her friends could hear her. Everyone had to be ready to protect themselves. If Riku sent such a strong mix of spells back at them, they could seriously get hurt.

Sora grunted, having the same realization as Kairi as he watched the scene before him. He spun his Keyblade and then held it in front of him, eyes narrowed as he prepared to cast a shield of his own. He could block whatever came at him, and he knew the others would be able to do the same. They were ready.

Roxas saw what was happening, and he put his Keyblade in front of him, prepared to summon a shield to protect himself. Their spells would come right back at them, but with more power because of how they blended. Do it, Riku.

Riku continued thinking of the past seven, miserable years of his life without his beloved. If he didn't do this, if he didn't save her family, she would be just as miserable. No...he thought, opening his eyes and glaring at the bright spell in front of him. They'll survive! "Rah!" Riku cried, using the strength of his barrier to force the spell back. It soared across the room, back toward his friends.
