Forever Starts Now (1x1 RP with Forever Love)

Posted

A friend and I have been doing a RP for a while now, and it has been scattered across several threads on two different sites. It started as a group story (about fast food of all things xP) but then it transformed into something else entirely.

We request that nobody join in this RP or post anything on this thread; if you wanna say how awesome we are, message us some other way. :)

Um...You're free to read this for fun if you want to, but this thread has major Birth By Sleep spoilers. And since we've been doing this for a while, we will probably refer to things we've done in the past and you will have no idea what we're talking about. So if you want to save yourself from confusion, then you probably wanna stay away. If not, hey, whatever.

The plot was discussed and posted on another website, but here's a quick summary of the whole thing: It's the return of Xehanort.

Characters:

Peanut: Sora, Namine, Leon, Aerith, King Mickey, Terra, Ventus, Xehanort, etc.

Forever Love: Riku, Kairi, Roxas, Yuffie, Aqua, Vanitus, Tron, etc.

I believe I've said everything that needs to be said...Forever Love, let's get this show on the road, eh? :)

Riku smiled weakly at his friends before he started across the room, wanting to stand beside the woman he loved. He saw that look of worry, and disappointment, which was why he looked at the floor. He hadn't done as well as either of them thought.

Light noticed Riku look away, and so she did the same, lifting a hand to run over her pink hair as she heard Sora optimistically propose an idea that many of the apprentices were excited about. He led them out of the room, and some of the older people followed as well, probably to give her and Riku privacy.
Riku glanced up to see everyone leave, except for Lightning. He should have expected that, but all he really wanted to do was lie down. He hated to admit it, but creating that barrier and fighting off those spells made him feel weak, literally. He didn't like it, but he couldn't help it either.

Light looked back up at Riku when he was closer, her hand lowering to her side as she gazed at him. She...had an idea. Not one that would take him out of the line of fire, but one that could possibly help him. She just wasn't sure if he would go for it, or if it would work at all. But she could still propose the idea, right?
Riku stuffed his hands into his pockets, stopping next to the woman he loved. "How was it?" he asked softly. It probably wasn't great, but it was alright, wasn't it? He at least wanted a bit of progress from today, though he had been training all day anyway. Was that why he couldn't handle the second dose, or was he just too weak?

"You weren't hurt, right?" Light asked softly without waiting for a response. "That means it was good." Even if Riku didn't do as well as he wanted to today, at least he wasn't injured by that last attack. As long as he was safe...she was okay. Or as okay as she could be without her family.
Riku looked at Lightning for a moment, realizing that she was being optimistic about something for once. That was encouraging, and so he nodded with a small hum. Right. As long as he wasn't too seriously injured, things were okay.

"And things will be even better if you sit down now," Light said gently. Riku looked like he wasn't feeling his best, and she was unfortunately used to that by now. He was sleeping and resting a lot more, since he was pushing himself so hard in training. But she knew he wouldn't want it any other way, so she didn't argue. They hadn't fought since the day he came up with the idea.
Riku nodded again at the words, lowering his gaze to the floor. He was tired, and he was sure that was why Lightning said what she did. He wouldn't argue, not wanting to. They were getting along and not having too many differences; he liked it better that way.

"Sit down," Light said softly, motioning with her hand towards the only seat in the room. The rest of the seating was bleachers, and she didn't want Riku sitting on those when he didn't feel good. She didn't mind standing as long as he was okay.
Riku followed Lightning's prodding, complying as he walked over to the seat. He lowered himself, leaning back into it and releasing a soft sigh. He was tired, though he wished he wasn't. He needed to be stronger; the barriers shouldn't have been tiring him.

Lightning wordlessly followed Riku to his seat, standing behind him and setting her hands on his shoulders. She started rubbing them lightly, her pale blue eyes on the top of Riku's silver hair. She wanted to help more than she was, because right now, it felt like she wasn't doing anything. It was her responsibility to save her family, not Riku's. So why was he doing all the work?
Riku relaxed at the gesture, leaning his head back against the rear of the chair. His eyes immediately found Lightning's, since she was standing behind him. He was grateful he had her back, even if he had to take her to her real home. It wasn't here with him, but in Cocoon. With her family, something he wasn't.

"You shouldn't be doing everything," Light said softly while continuing her gesture. He was killing himself in training every day to try to get stronger for her sake. But...she had a secret. She was growing stronger too, when Riku was asleep at night. He didn't know what she was doing, and if he did, she wasn't sure he would approve. She believed she had a way to give her power to him, even if it made her weaker.
"But I want to," Riku replied gently. He didn't care if he wasn't supposed to be doing everything; he felt that he should. He loved Lightning, so why wouldn't he do this for her? Her happiness was his happiness. Always.

"But I don't want you to," Lightning said, faintly shaking her head. She wanted to at least have some role in saving her family, other than testing Riku's barriers. It was her responsibility, her burden. But he took it away, because she couldn't handle it. She wasn't strong enough to handle it.
Riku didn't know what to say to that, so he just closed his eyes. It was understandable that she wouldn't want him to do everything, but it was a little too late for that. He already was.

"...I have an idea, but I'm not sure you'll go for it," Light said softly, her hands stilling on Riku's shoulders as she gazed down at him. He wasn't the only person trying to get stronger; she was too. She had the ability to create shields too, so if she could somehow gain strength and then pass it onto Riku, he'd be better off and able to focus more strength on reflecting an attack. The one problem was that if he had that strength of hers, she wouldn't.
Riku opened his eyes again, looking up at his beloved. "What?" he said in shock. She had an idea? For some reason, by the way she said things, he got a bad feeling about it.

Lightning glanced away, starting to explain as her voice was still soft. "In the other future I traveled to, I had power passed onto me: the power to create shields and resistance to magic. The past few nights, I've been sneaking out with Ven and he's helping me get stronger. If the power was passed onto me, then maybe I could pass it onto you too. It'd strengthen your shields..."
Riku's eyebrows furrowed as he stared up at Lightning. "...You're saying I should take your power from you?" he assumed, intelligent enough to connect the dots. He wasn't so sure it was a good idea; Lightning needed her strength when they went back.

Lightning looked back down at Riku, nodding. "Yes," she said evenly. That was what she was saying. He wouldn't be taking everything away from her, though; just some of her magic strength and her ability to create shields. If this was what needed to be done right now, she was willing to do it.
Riku lowered his head, looking out at the room in front of him without saying anything. He wasn't so sure that was a good idea, considering how she would need to be in top form when she went back as well. They couldn't risk anything here. Besides, if something awful happened to him, he would still be alive; he was on his way to see Lightning when he lost her, anyway.

"Think about it," Lightning continued, keeping her eyes on Riku. "I'm not giving you everything; just the strength you need when it comes to barriers. It's something that I can regain in time. Besides, I won't be needing to create barriers on Gran Pulse as long as yours is strong enough. We'll be fine."
Riku lifted a hand and pinched the bridge of his nose, closing his eyes for a moment before lowering his hand. "Can I sleep on it?" he asked, tilting his head back to look at Lightning. He was tired, and a little disappointed in himself. Maybe if he thought about it overnight, he could come to a decision.
