Forever Starts Now (1x1 RP with Forever Love)

Posted

A friend and I have been doing a RP for a while now, and it has been scattered across several threads on two different sites. It started as a group story (about fast food of all things xP) but then it transformed into something else entirely.

We request that nobody join in this RP or post anything on this thread; if you wanna say how awesome we are, message us some other way. :)

Um...You're free to read this for fun if you want to, but this thread has major Birth By Sleep spoilers. And since we've been doing this for a while, we will probably refer to things we've done in the past and you will have no idea what we're talking about. So if you want to save yourself from confusion, then you probably wanna stay away. If not, hey, whatever.

The plot was discussed and posted on another website, but here's a quick summary of the whole thing: It's the return of Xehanort.

Characters:

Peanut: Sora, Namine, Leon, Aerith, King Mickey, Terra, Ventus, Xehanort, etc.

Forever Love: Riku, Kairi, Roxas, Yuffie, Aqua, Vanitus, Tron, etc.

I believe I've said everything that needs to be said...Forever Love, let's get this show on the road, eh? :)

The next morning   Riku lingered in the living room as Lightning's guests talked on the sofas. It was the day after Sora and Kairi's wedding, and now that the event was over, everyone was heading ba

Riku caught that expression, and he was sure it was much like his own. "You're staying with me?" he asked, making sure this was the truth. Light was taking off her boots, but she could easily put them back on later. How long would she be with him?

"If you want me to that badly," Lightning said with a slight shrug. She supposed that she could take the night off, as much for Riku's sake as Ven's. He was sweet for being willing to train in the middle of the night with her, but tonight, she'd let him sleep. He deserved it.
Riku smirked, nodding at the words. "I do," he confessed softly. He wanted Lightning to be with him for the night, if that was possible. He was curious as to how long it would last, but he would take what he could get.

Lightning nodded faintly, finishing unbuckling her boot as her gaze remained on Riku. "Alright then," she said softly, slipping off her boot and letting it drop to the ground. She would stay for tonight, and she was sure both of them would enjoy it. Surely the seven years apart still nagged Riku a lot; Lightning knew she'd be very clingy if she spent seven years away from Riku.
Riku's smirk remained as he turned, adjusting himself on the bed so he was on one side. He leaned his head against the pillow, though he jerked it slightly, motioning to Lightning to come over next to him. In a few days, this moment would have never existed. There were still some things he had to tell Lightning about time travel, but he would save it for later. Now wasn't the time to explain.

Light hummed softly at Riku's gesture, a side of her lips turning up slightly in a smirk. She moved her legs up onto the bed and then laid down beside Riku, her hands on her stomach as she turned her head to face him. She still had to get used to his older features, even if she had been in the future a few weeks. That was crazy, because when she went back, it would be like absolutely no time passed at all. And Riku probably would know nothing about this future...
Riku was lying on his back as well, and he tucked his arm furthest from Lightning under his head, the other resting on his bare stomach. He didn't say anything, closing his eyes at the feeling of Lightning's gaze on him. When things changed, he hoped he would have that feeling every day. Once again, he never proposed. It was a big mistake on his part.

"What's wrong?" Lightning asked softly after a few moments. She knew that Riku was tired, but he looked...sad. Regretful. She just had no idea what he could be so sad about, other than training today not going as well as he hoped it would. Was that it?
"I want to tell you," Riku said with an exhale. "But I just don't know how you'll take it." Would she handle it well, or would it be awkward? He remembered the story Lightning told of the last time she went to the future, and how he hadn't proposed. He never did in the past either. It was a reoccuring mistake that he always made.

"Mm," Light hummed quietly, lowering her gaze to Riku's shoulder. He didn't have to tell her if he didn't feel comfortable doing it, but how bad could the news be? After all she had seen and heard in her life, she was pretty sure that she could handle whatever it was Riku wanted to tell her.
Riku heard that hum, which caused him to smile weakly. "It's not life-changing," he said softly. "At least not too much, but... It's a mistake on my part." A big one, but even if he had proposed seven years ago, he would have lost her. Was it worse to lose her as his girlfriend, or as his fiance? Either way, it was ugly.

Lightning hummed again, unsure of how else to react. Riku was saying he had another mistake? That seemed to be all that he said in this future. Okay, maybe not, but he did say it an awful lot. Was he being too hard on himself, or was this a valid mistake?
It doesn't really matter. I lost her anyway. Riku's eyebrows furrowed at the depressing thought, his smile gone by this point. He was tired of losing Lightning. It wasn't fair...

Light looked back up at Riku's face after a few moments, and she saw that deep frown. She scooted closer to him so her side was against his before she lifted her hand furthest away from Riku and set it on his hand that was on his stomach. She wished she knew what was going on in his head so that she could help, but it didn't seem like he was going to tell her anything...
Riku's fingers turned so they were grasping Lightning's hand, the young man releasing a breath. I love you, Light, he thought silently. But I have to let you go again. He had no choice this time. This was how things were meant to be.

Lightning stared up at the ceiling. She realized then that she had left her gloves on again. She hardly ever took them off, much like her boots. If she could sleep in boots, why not gloves? But...she sort of wanted to feel Riku's smooth skin without the fabric of the glove in the way. Oh well; she wouldn't pull her hand back now.
"I was a wreck without you," Riku whispered softly, bringing up a sore subject. But, he had to be honest. "It's hard to let you go... Every single time." He sighed, opening his eyes to glare up at the ceiling. He was tired of doing it.

Light shut her eyes, knowing that Riku had to let go of her an awful lot. Some of those things weren't either of their choice, like her serving on the Lindblum or her death. But other times, she made the choice to walk away from him. For a little while, she was scared of being in a relationship with him because she feared love. It was partially her fault that he had to let go so often. "...I'm sorry," she whispered.
"Mm," Riku hummed softly. He didn't want Lightning to worry about it, so he wouldn't carry this conversation any further. He would get her back home, to where she belonged. Whether that was with him or just her family, he would find out.

Lightning looked over at her and Riku's hands on his stomach, some of her pink hair tickling Riku's bare shoulder when she turned her head. She did feel bad, seeing now that she caused him just as much sorrow as he caused her. She wanted to take away that pain. That was what she was doing by going back, right? He wouldn't remember losing her...
Riku felt Lightning's gaze on him, and he turned his head to meet it. His aqua eyes fell on her pale blue, and he didn't know what to say. He wanted her to be happy, and she wasn't happy here. This was for the best.

Light lifted her gaze from their hands to Riku's face when she felt his gaze on her, and her blue eyes immediately locked onto his aqua ones. She didn't know exactly what he was thinking, or if he shared whatever it was he wanted to tell her before. But she wouldn't bring anything up.
"I know things have changed between us," Riku admitted, and somewhat painfully. "But...I can still be honest with you, right?" He hated lying, and keeping secrets. He knew what they could do to a person, and that was destroy them. He wasn't comfortable with such a thing, so he wanted to tell Lightning what was on his mind. If she could handle it, anyway.

"Yeah," Light answered softly, nodding faintly as well. Of course Riku could be honest with her. He already was, all the time. He was brutally honest in this future when it concerned her family, and she couldn't forget his confession after he broke the watch. There was no doubt in her mind that he was being honest with her then.
"...I messed up," Riku confessed softly, his eyes softening. "I messed up big time, and I want to make it up to you. I tore you away from your family, and for that, I hate myself." He closed his eyes, turning his head back upright. "I make too many mistakes with you, Light. It kills me sometimes." He made a lot of mistakes, and every single one hurt either of them in some way. If she was hurt, so was he, if he didn't hurt himself in some way.
