Forever Starts Now (1x1 RP with Forever Love)

Posted

A friend and I have been doing a RP for a while now, and it has been scattered across several threads on two different sites. It started as a group story (about fast food of all things xP) but then it transformed into something else entirely.

We request that nobody join in this RP or post anything on this thread; if you wanna say how awesome we are, message us some other way. :)

Um...You're free to read this for fun if you want to, but this thread has major Birth By Sleep spoilers. And since we've been doing this for a while, we will probably refer to things we've done in the past and you will have no idea what we're talking about. So if you want to save yourself from confusion, then you probably wanna stay away. If not, hey, whatever.

The plot was discussed and posted on another website, but here's a quick summary of the whole thing: It's the return of Xehanort.

Characters:

Peanut: Sora, Namine, Leon, Aerith, King Mickey, Terra, Ventus, Xehanort, etc.

Forever Love: Riku, Kairi, Roxas, Yuffie, Aqua, Vanitus, Tron, etc.

I believe I've said everything that needs to be said...Forever Love, let's get this show on the road, eh? :)

Light's lips parted slightly in sadness, the young woman surprised at what Riku was saying to her. "Don't take it too hard," she said softly, her voice nearly a whisper. "I've made mistakes too." She didn't open up to him as much as she should have. She turned away from him when she was scared. She smothered him for the same reason, on the occasions where she didn't turn away. She had a lot of regrets too.
Riku smiled bitterly. "Are they as life-changing as this?" he asked, referring to bringing her to the future. It was a mistake...kind of. He didn't regret saving her, but he did regret causing her pain. It wasn't fair to her.

Lightning looked up to the ceiling, knowing what Riku was referring to when he spoke. "I dumped you before," she pointed out softly. "If I had my way then, we wouldn't have been together again. That's pretty life-changing." Back then, Riku made her look past her fears and realize that she was meant to be with him. And since then, she never pushed him away so much. She didn't want the future to be one where they were apart, whether one of them was dead or they were both alive.
Riku's smile disappeared, his eyebrows furrowing over his closed eyes. He squeezed Lightning's hand at the words, remembering that time. It was awful for him, but he was glad he stood up for what he believed in, and that was that he and Lightning were supposed to be together. But they always got torn apart somehow. He just didn't understand...

"Things can only improve from here," Light whispered after a few moments of silence. She wasn't an optimistic person these days, but things couldn't possibly get worse for her and Riku than they already had. He treated her terribly when she first got here, but here they were, laying in the same bed. Things would keep getting better, hopefully.
"Mm," Riku hummed in agreement. He would get Lightning home. That would be when things started to get better. That time would come in the next few days, he was sure.

"So don't get too down about anything, okay?" Light said softly. She knew that she had no right to talk because of how badly her grief had haunted her since she arrived in this future, but...She excused herself because she was referring to Riku dwelling on his mistakes. Yeah, there's a difference.
"I'll try," Riku told Lightning softly. But with what he'd remember, it wouldn't be easy. His younger self would suffer from his decisions, and it wouldn't be good. He was sure it would cause a problem between him and Light soon, but he wouldn't mention it. Not now.

Lightning hummed quietly, staring up for a second before she closed her eyes. She had a feeling that Riku wasn't telling her everything that was on his mind, but that was alright. Was it really any of her business? She and Riku hadn't talked about it, but she guessed that they were still boyfriend and girlfriend. That sounded so trivial because of all the couples who dated for a week and then split up. She and Riku were serious. Serious enough for her to think about marrying him.
"We only have a short amount of time left together," Riku acknowledged aloud. "So...stay with me tonight. Please?" He didn't want to be away from Lightning tonight, especially with how down he was feeling. He blamed it on his exhaustion, but he didn't want it to ruin anything. Especially between him and Lightning.

"I will," Light said softly. She had already said that she would before, and she wasn't going to duck out of that promise and sneak off to train. Some things were more important than gaining strength. Taking care of Riku's heart was more important, always.
Riku was grateful to those words, and he lifted Lightning's hand and kissed her fingers. He then set her hand back on his stomach, the young man taking in a deep breath before releasing it. He was ready to go to sleep. Tomorrow would be another hard day of training, but it was for the greater good.

Light kept her eyes shut, though her lips briefly turned up at the kiss. She was a little surprised that the kiss was all that Riku was going to do. He seemed so desperate to keep her here that she thought he would want to hold her closely. Either she misjudged him, or he was too distracted to think about stuff like that.
"...I love you," Riku whispered then, keeping his eyes closed. So much. He didn't want to lose her again, but would he really? She was going back to where she belonged, and he would be there. That was enough.

"I love you too," Lightning whispered after a few moments, turning her head slightly towards Riku. She loved him despite his imperfections and the errors that he was always so sad about. She loved him for his heart, and he loved her for the same reasons. They were meant to have a future together...just not this one. Not one where her family was dead.
Riku opened his eyes at the words, turning his head. He saw Lightning's face and rolled over silently onto his side. It was then that he lifted his free hand to her cheek, running his thumb over her smooth skin. There was a part of him that liked her being here, since he loved her. But she didn't belong here with him.

Lightning's hand moved off Riku's stomach when he turned, not that she minded too much because of the new gesture that he was performing. She opened her eyes partway and looked up at his face while his thumb smoothly went over her cheek, the gesture as gentle as ever.
I'm going to marry you someday, Riku thought, his eyes gazing into the ones opposite him. He would be sure to ask Lightning soon, but only when the time was right. He remembered that the time he lost her, Sora and Kairi were still engaged. He would give them their time, and then he would make his move. It was only right.

Light shut her eyes after a few more moments of Riku's thumb going over her cheek, a soft breath being released through her nose. She and Riku didn't have many moments like this. Normally, they were either fighting, working too hard to set the past right, or too tired to enjoy their time together. It was sad.
Riku moved his hand from Lightning's cheek to rest in her soft hair. It was then that he closed his eyes, realizing that it was time to sleep. No other conversations were starting between him and Light, and his exhaustion was pretty heavy at the moment. Sleep would do him some good.

The next day

Lightning helped Riku clean up breakfast, since Terrian had permission to leave right after the meal and go train with Terra and his student. She had slept the whole night with Riku, as she promised. And he seemed to be better today, if only because of the fact that he got the sleep that he needed. But she knew he would wear himself down again today in training, unfortunately.

Riku put the last of the dishes in the dishwasher, pressing a button and starting it before he ran a hand through his hair. Now that that was done, he was curious about what he needed to do. He could probably get to work on his barriers again, but he didn't know who with. Everyone was pretty busy.

Lightning looked from the dishwasher to Riku, seeing his expression. "Back to work, huh?" she guessed softly. There were some people free that could help, but she was wondering if he decided about the power she offered him yesterday. He said he'd sleep on the idea, and he did...
Riku nodded, his eyes darting to the woman he loved. "Yeah," he said softly. It was time to get back to work. Lydia was Kairi's focus today, so maybe Sora would be free. Unless Lightning wanted to help him out for a while. It didn't matter to him as long as he got stronger.

"Have you thought about what we discussed yesterday?" Lightning asked softly. She offered to give Riku the strength that she was improving for his sake. It would really help his shields, and it would make going back a real possibility. With her power combined with Riku's, maybe they stood a chance against the Maker.
