Forever Starts Now (1x1 RP with Forever Love)

Posted

A friend and I have been doing a RP for a while now, and it has been scattered across several threads on two different sites. It started as a group story (about fast food of all things xP) but then it transformed into something else entirely.

We request that nobody join in this RP or post anything on this thread; if you wanna say how awesome we are, message us some other way. :)

Um...You're free to read this for fun if you want to, but this thread has major Birth By Sleep spoilers. And since we've been doing this for a while, we will probably refer to things we've done in the past and you will have no idea what we're talking about. So if you want to save yourself from confusion, then you probably wanna stay away. If not, hey, whatever.

The plot was discussed and posted on another website, but here's a quick summary of the whole thing: It's the return of Xehanort.

Characters:

Peanut: Sora, Namine, Leon, Aerith, King Mickey, Terra, Ventus, Xehanort, etc.

Forever Love: Riku, Kairi, Roxas, Yuffie, Aqua, Vanitus, Tron, etc.

I believe I've said everything that needs to be said...Forever Love, let's get this show on the road, eh? :)

The next morning   Riku lingered in the living room as Lightning's guests talked on the sofas. It was the day after Sora and Kairi's wedding, and now that the event was over, everyone was heading ba

Riku looked away at that, knowing that nothing good came from time travel. According to his newest memories, that was still true. Of course, the fact that Lightning was alive was the only positive side effect from this. He turned, sitting down so his back was against the couch and he was on the floor. ...Did I really lose you?

"...I'm shocked you'd have memories of it," Lightning admitted softly, giving Riku more than just the short responses she had been giving him since she woke up. Riku said before that he arrived five minutes after she was dead. But he was actually in the world before that, and so was the future Riku. Did that mean that the future Riku started joining with his old self? Was that why he left so quickly?
"Memories of what, though?" Riku asked, resting his elbows on his propped-up knees. Things were still fuzzy; he couldn't comprehend it all just yet. What had it been, a half hour since they were in Gran Pulse? Since he passed out?

Light closed her eyes, unsure what else to say, except... "The future." Riku described the future to her, with Sora and Kairi having a child and him having his apprentice. Those memories were ones that the older Riku would have if he were still here. Maybe a part of him lingered within this Riku. Just a part, right? After all, the Black Knight didn't disappear like the future Lightning did...
Riku didn't know what to say after that, so he remained silent. He was in the future, obviously, but he really wasn't at the same time. He sighed, lifting a hand to run through his short hair. I hate time travel...

Lightning held back a "hmph" at Riku's sigh, practically able to hear his thoughts. If he hated time travel, he had to remember she had it worse than he did. She had gone through it twice, and unwillingly. Riku...he made the watch of his own accord to travel back in time. He knew what he was getting himself into.
I was desperate, Riku thought to himself. He recalled making the watch, and all the hardwork he put into it. It was to get Lightning back, and thinking about it, he didn't blame his future self for doing such a thing. Sure, it killed him inside to hurt Lightning the way he had then, but...he saved her. She was alive. He still had her.

Lightning left Riku to his thoughts, lowering a hand to sit on the hilt of her sword. She was sitting on the case, but she didn't care; she had done it plenty of times before. She grunted softly and lowered her head, eyes still shut. C'mon...I just need a little bit of strength to lessen the pain from these wounds... But she had already used her remaining strength to summon the dark portal. She hoped Riku wasn't too mad over that.
Riku's thoughts automatically went to the time when "he" lost Lightning, and he felt the emotions rise from within his heart. It skipped a beat and his eyes suddenly stung. It was too real of a feeling to be false.

Not enough strength, Light thought, her hand limp on the hilt of her sword. She peeked her eyes open and saw Riku still sitting right against the couch, and though she couldn't see his expression, something seemed wrong. She moved her hand that was sitting on the couch a little further up, her hand still resting in the furniture as one of her fingers moved one of Riku's spikes.
"...I can't believe it," Riku said, having the urge to speak when he felt Lightning's touch. "I really lost you...for seven years." It was painful recalling it, though he couldn't remember those seven years in general. He just remembered the time when his future self reflected on her death and made the watch, and then when he brought Lightning back. It was all so bizarre.

Lightning blinked at Riku's words, surprised. You really do remember... He remembered that she should have died today on Gran Pulse. And that he should have found her body there. She didn't really know how to respond to that, so she didn't. Death was a touchy subject.
Riku fought his emotions, the emotions that he would have felt if things went the way they were supposed to today. "Ugh," he groaned, lifting a hand to cover his eyes. This was not the time to do this, he was sure. He needed to get a grip and focus.

Light's eyes softened at Riku's groan, and she moved her fingers a little to play with Riku's spikes. She hadn't done this in a very long time. She didn't even remember doing it in the future. She and the future Riku loved each other, but Lightning felt like she knew this Riku much better than the other one. She was glad to be back with him.
Riku ground his teeth together, realizing that he had been so stupid for hurting Lightning the way he had. And yet she still loved him? He killed her family! "...I'm sorry," he said softly. He had just wanted to save her.

Lightning shook her head faintly, even if Riku couldn't see her. "You say that too often," she whispered. He was always sorry about something, especially recently. She wondered what he was saying sorry for right now, especially since he seemed to be fighting emotions.
"Because I always mess up," Riku said, lowering his hand to sit back on his leg. He stared at the coffee table a foot from him, reflecting on all of the mistakes he'd made--in the past and apparently in the future. He needed to start putting Lightning first...if he wasn't already.

Lightning shook her head faintly, her fingers no longer playing with Riku's hair. "Don't say that," she said quietly. It wasn't a mistake to save her. His methods were bad, but he set things right eventually. Everything was okay for the most part; there was no point in reflecting on past--or future, mistakes.
What, don't admit the truth? Riku thought, staring at the floor. He wouldn't say that, since it could bring up an argument. From what he remembered, that was all he and Lightning did in the future. It was depressing.

Light's hand by Riku curled into a fist, her other leaving her sword to sit into her lap. Her actions weren't only caused by the pain, but by the tension in the air. She didn't come back to this time to argue with Riku. That was the last thing that she wanted. But she sensed an argument coming on, whether she wanted it or not.
Riku continued to glare at the floor, unaware of Lightning's tension. First we don't get along because we don't know each other, then she gets her life controlled for her because of Maleficent. Once we do start dating, I put a wall between her and Ven, then I couldn't put together a good date, she hated her birthday party... Riku closed his eyes. Then I tear her away from her family and make her miserable. I'm a fantastic boyfriend.

Lightning squeezed her eyes shut, holding back a grunt because of the pain of everything. She carefully repositioned herself, curled up on half the couch once she laid down. She pressed her face against the back of Riku's hair without caring how unusual this position was. She needed him close; he was like family to her.
Riku kept his eyes closed, tensing slightly at the touch before he relaxed. How could Lightning still love him after all he'd done? It didn't make any sense... She should have ended things a long time ago.

I need to see them...my family. But... But Lightning couldn't leave Riku when he was obviously upset. And her family was probably asleep anyway. Seeing them now wouldn't do her any good, so she'd have to stay away just a little longer. But her heart broke even worse now that they were only rooms away and she couldn't go to them. She needed them, but she couldn't have them.
"...You should get some rest," Riku said then, opening his eyes to see that it was only afternoon. Regardless, after everything she went through, rest was essential. He wasn't about to steal it from her.
