Forever Starts Now (1x1 RP with Forever Love)

Posted

A friend and I have been doing a RP for a while now, and it has been scattered across several threads on two different sites. It started as a group story (about fast food of all things xP) but then it transformed into something else entirely.

We request that nobody join in this RP or post anything on this thread; if you wanna say how awesome we are, message us some other way. :)

Um...You're free to read this for fun if you want to, but this thread has major Birth By Sleep spoilers. And since we've been doing this for a while, we will probably refer to things we've done in the past and you will have no idea what we're talking about. So if you want to save yourself from confusion, then you probably wanna stay away. If not, hey, whatever.

The plot was discussed and posted on another website, but here's a quick summary of the whole thing: It's the return of Xehanort.

Characters:

Peanut: Sora, Namine, Leon, Aerith, King Mickey, Terra, Ventus, Xehanort, etc.

Forever Love: Riku, Kairi, Roxas, Yuffie, Aqua, Vanitus, Tron, etc.

I believe I've said everything that needs to be said...Forever Love, let's get this show on the road, eh? :)

Lightning shook her head faintly against Riku's hair, lowering one of her hands so it sat on Riku's chest. She didn't want to rest. She was back where she belonged, with the people that she belonged with. How could she just sleep now after working so hard to bring them back?
"Were you this difficult in the future?" Riku asked, glancing out of the corner of his eye at the woman behind him. It was a rhetorical question, because she was in the beginning of things. She cried and wouldn't accept that her family was dead... But that's why I was so awful, Riku realized. I told her to give up.

Lightning nodded, a faint smile briefly tugging at her lips. "I was ten times worse than I am now," she murmured. Her emotions were all over the spectrum. Except that happiness was never really there. She was happy when Riku proved that he was still the person she loved, but other than that...it was misery the whole time. Misery and anger.
"...Then go be with them," Riku said softly. He was sure Serah was at least awake, and that was the person that Lightning was closest to. If he couldn't cheer her up, then she could.

Light heard Riku's comment, though she didn't understand where it came from. "What?" she said softly. He couldn't have possibly known that she was thinking about her family right now. She hadn't implied anything about being with them, right? She couldn't remember; she was too tired.
"You were upset and miserable because you weren't with your family," Riku said. You were stuck with me instead. "Serah's in the next room. Go be with her." As much as he loved Lightning's company, especially after not seeing her for a month, he couldn't keep her to himself.

Riku sounded bitter with what he said, and that was what made Lightning hesitate. She did want to be with Serah, so desperately. Even if she would just pass out in that same room. But Serah wouldn't understand Lightning's compulsion...And maybe she wouldn't believe her if Lightning told her what happened. She didn't know.
Riku didn't feel Lightning move, so he initiated the decision for her. He lifted his hand, moving her arm away from his chest as he pushed himself up to his feet. He turned around to look down at her, eyebrows furrowed over his aquamarine eyes. "I have some thinking to do," he told her. "So...now would be a good time to see your family, like you wanted."

Light opened her eyes and looked up at Riku, eyebrows furrowed slightly over her pale blue eyes. He was shoving her away from him...almost literally. Did I sacrifice my relationship with you to save my family? Is that it? she thought. She pushed herself into a sitting position, lifting a hand to her aching head. She lowered her head and shut her eyes, sighing. She couldn't fight this battle with Riku right now.
Riku dug into his pocket, pulling out a potion and tossing it up into the air. He hadn't thought of it sooner, mostly because his head was full of tons of other things at the moment. However, he was sure that Lightning would feel better once it settled in. He didn't want to leave, but he had to. After what he just remembered, he couldn't be near Lightning. Not until he sorted things out.

Lightning felt the warmth of a potion wash over her, taking away some of her cuts and bruises. But the ache in her heart remained. "...One of us always walks away," she murmured in sadness. She did it in the future, but that was because Riku wasn't listening to her. This time, Riku was walking away, and she didn't know why.
Riku's expression broke instantly at the words, and Lightning's tone. He lifted a hand to his face, releasing a faint sigh. It wasn't in aggravation, but in sadness. Those words struck a nerve, because she was right. Someone always did walk away.

Light shook her head, pushing herself up from the couch and looking down at the ground. She didn't want it to end this way, but it had to. She couldn't handle an argument with Riku. She started walking away on weak legs, going towards the hall so she could go to the bedrooms her friends were in.
Riku saw the woman passing him, and he reacted without thinking. "Wait," he said, grasping Lightning's wrist and stopping her in her tracks. This wasn't the way their reunion was supposed to go.

Light was surprised when Riku stopped her, especially since he was the one who wanted to walk away in the first place. She kept her gaze down on the ground as she stood still, wondering what Riku had to say. If he was going to start some kind of fight over anything at all, she was walking away.
Riku stepped over, positioning himself next to Lightning. But then he wrapped his arms around her, pulling her close. All he had wanted for the past month, in his time, was to hold her. He never got the chance.

Lightning was even more surprised when Riku hugged her, and the wounds that lingered even after the potion healed her cried out in protest. But she didn't care. She closed her eyes and wrapped an arm around Riku's back, letting his warmth soothe her. She hugged the other Riku, but it didn't feel right like this one did. This was how it was meant to be.
Riku lifted one of his hands to sit on the back of Lightning's head. "...It may not seem like it," he started softly, "but I missed you." He had missed her so much, both times--when she left for the Lindblum and the seven years they had been apart. It was hard, both times.

Lightning wrapped her other arm around Riku's lower back, her eyes remaining shut as she did so. "I know you did," she said softly. He made it clear in the future that he had missed her a lot over the seven years she was gone. She tried not to decipher Riku right now too much, because he was probably focused on his memories and not her. That was natural, right?
You couldn't have missed me, Riku thought silently. You didn't even know you were gone... He knew it was his future self talking with the last thought, since Lightning hadn't been with him seven years prior to him rescuing her. It was depressing to think about, but in that lifetime, she did die.

Light turned her head on Riku's shoulder, facing towards the rest of the room as she opened her eyes and exhaled a soft breath. She and Riku both needed some time to recover from this whole thing. She remembered the last time she went to the future, it really changed her. Was that the case this time as well? Was she the same Lightning that would have died on Pulse?
Riku felt his emotions rising once again, and the last thing he wanted was for them to surface in front of Lightning. He started to loosen his hold on her, repeating what he said earlier. "Serah's probably still awake," he said softly. "Go see her." Light needed her sister more than she needed her boyfriend.

Light knew now wasn't the time to argue, especially since she did want to be with Serah. She nodded faintly against Riku's shoulder, the young woman taking her head off of it and releasing Riku from the embrace. She'd give him time and go see her family. She needed this more than anything else right now.
Riku let his hand linger on the back of Lightning's head, the boy leaning forward and kissing her pink hair before releasing her completely. He didn't say that he would see her later, because he was sure he would. He turned, approaching the door and closing it quietly behind him once he was outside. It was time to ponder these memories and figure out things revolving around him and Lightning.

Lightning felt sick in her stomach, because even if she had reason to see Serah, she and Riku were still walking away from each other when they really needed to talk. Regardless, the soldier made her feet carry her down the hall and to the room where her sister was. And when she laid her eyes on her for the first time in so long, tears flooded to the stoic soldier's eyes. You're alive.
